"My favorite lightweight editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is lightweight and extremely customizable. You can make it look however you want, and you can make it do a million things with plugins. You can create the editor of your dreams, or you can just have a very straightforward editor. Whatever you like! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Some of the plugins, being user-created, can make the editor slow down. More oversight or more official plugins might be nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Why i enjoy using Visual Studio Code."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is one of my favourite platforms to write code on, despite from all the others Visual Studio Code offers a plugins section where you can download plugins like themes, shortcuts and live designer viewers to make your coding expierence much better. I personally enjoy the way you can set the tone of your coding view, set it to a dark black or maybe even a bright white. Visual Studio allows you to customise your coding expierence in a comforting way. The only upside to downloading themes within Visual Studio is that you may not always expierence the best of themes and can bump into some miner bugs. Besides that it satisfies me as a developer. What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

My only downsides that i have on Visual Studio is how the way you place your different windows on the side, top or even bottom isn't all responsive. It would be amazing if Visual Studio code could allow you to drag out the different windows and place them on a different monitor for example to make your work space cleaner to suit your preference. "Visual Studio is a coders dream"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is minimalistic, yet offers a host of tools and plugins that set it apart from other clunky interfaces. It's fast and responsive. I love the fact that Visual Studio Code is able to integrate with the terminal and can seamlessly transition between several different programming languages. What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The only real complaint that I have against Visual Studio Code is that the plugins aren't vetted. There are both outstanding plugins and really terrible plugins at the same time. The user is responsible for weeding through the garbage to find the gems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best in the market!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

In my career i have used many IDE's from Eclipse Europa to IntelliJ especially for java development and for Python i love Pycharm, but since i started using VS-Code i didn't need anything else. My favorite features are :-

1 In VS-Code we have built in Git commands which makes it easier to manage your code repository.

2 Customize according to your need. As VSCode provide Workspace setting which helps to customize as per your project needs and User setting is common setting which will be applicable to all workspace.

3 Easy File structure/management and Code Structure which helps in understanding the code better.

4 Searching in the files is quite easy with various hot keys and you can customize your search too.

5 Open source (very important). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

VSCode is almost unbeatable with all the feature you can have for free. There are some feature i think should be better if available in new updates;-

1. Better way of file comparison so that you don't have to rely on third party vendor application.

IntelliSense is great and all but sometimes it take away your creativity or for beginners it will mainly confuse them a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best code editor period."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

After switching between multiple code editors this is by far the best. It's very pluggable and allows you to write in any language. Not just the simple text editing but full-on code suggestion. Debugging is also built-in. It feels like a fully-fledged IDE with the speed of a simple text editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I used to dislike the way the configuration was being done via JSON. But now they switched to a GUI. So my biggest dislike got fixed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

VIsual Studio Code has a great ecosystem and many extensions that make it a wonderful code editor. It is great for working with websites and web applications. I have found it useful for testing out code, in addition to creating small applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code Only For Old School Coders"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like the straightforward format is and simple to utilize interface. It doesn't take up that much memory and designers can perform most capacities utilizing code. I additionally like the capacity to dispatch code from PowerShell or Command Prompt. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Bundles should be introduced by means of direction brief and went through node.js to work inside code. It requires some investment outside of creating. That is the reason I utilize standard Visual Studio since it is simpler to include a NuGet Package from the VS interface than experiencing node.js. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code Only For Old School Coders"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like the simple layout is and easy to use interface. It does not take up that much memory and developers can perform most functions using code. I also like the ability to launch code from PowerShell or Command Prompt. Another thing I like is it allows for old-school coders to go to something with no frills or thrills. This is good for someone who doesn't want to add additional packages or features to a program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Packages need to be installed via command prompt and ran through node.js to work within code. It takes too much time outside of developing. That is why I use standard Visual Studio because it is easier to add a NuGet Package from the VS interface than going through node.js. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable for many programming tasks"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Contrary to popular belief, Visual Studio Code is not just a tool for website development, but it can also be used in other programming cases such as game development, desktop, and mobile applications. This is possible thanks to the excellent support of VSCode for the languages used in these cases like Python, C, C++, Java, and C#. For example, the support for C# is very reliable thanks to the Omnisharp plugin which provides amazing support for sln, project.json, and csproj. The new Emmet syntax has been quickly adopted by VSCode and this has made my coding experience much easier because the new syntax has many much-anticipated and welcome improvements and additions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Although I like the integrated git control feature and use it a lot, it is not as powerful as the native git bash or even the integration in WebStorm. Tasks like viewing the history, rebase, or cherry-picking can be done within VSCode, and you have to return to the git console. Searching within a project is tediously slow, and when you have a large project, it becomes a headache to perform searches throughout the project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
