The layout of the editor is very sleek and easy to navigate. The various plugins you can get are also phenomenal and make coding a lot more efficient for many languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft Visual Studio Code Review | One of the best IDEs for cross-platform code-editing"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I recently came across this beautiful Visual Studio Code software developed by Microsoft for Windows, Linux, and macOS. I downloaded the version for Windows as I needed a platform for reviewing, editing, and modifying my Python notebooks. It provides a nice view of the code with different color schemes for different types of codes. It has a beautiful interface with easy navigational options. Plenty of help is also available so the user does not have to go through tutorials on the internet to learn how to run this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

While using the software, I found that the software does not allow accessing files from One Drive. It was only showing the standard hard drive locations but not the cloud drives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One single IDE for all the technologies"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is one of the comprehensive & extendable text editor I have ever used. My favorite features in the Visual Studio Code are the ability to install the plugins for various technologies, open-source community support, Integrated of GIT version control and the preference sync with GitHub account. All of these features put this tool into a unique place for developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

When it comes to the cons side of Visual Studio Code, there is nothing much to complain about. It serves the purpose of a top-notch text editor. But when we are starting to compare this with an IDE, it has a few more areas to improve such as integration and deployment capability to the Cloud Services / Repositories. "Best code editor i have used professionally."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I have been using vs code for last 1.5 years and this app has been literally time saving and very useful for me to code and commit it in git branch. The feature i like most about vs code is its shortkeys and the feature to add private extensions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Vs code is very good and useful product however there can be a chance of improvement in its RAM capturing area. It captures a lot of RAM and do not run nicely in systems without SSD Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code best IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The best part is that it has an integrated Git client that can pull/fetch/commit every file without leaving the IDE. It also provides an extension store that includes hundreds of app that helps the developer due to write code and the organization of itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

What I don't like about Visual Studio Code is that it's project based. So you can't work on two different projects at the same time, to do so you have to open another window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great IDE for every technology code !"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I am using Visual studio code for many years and I love using it. First of all Visual studio code supports more than a hundred languages so I don't have to download IDE for all languages this will save your physical memory as well as your internet. You don't only write code in it you can also compile on it and can run it in the tool itself which I think great thing. there are thousands of extensions are available to install so if you want any extension related to your language you can just go to VS code extension store and download and install from the tool itself. isn't it a good thing? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio doesn't have many bugs and errors, but there are many extensions are available for one purpose so one get might be confused about which extension to download or which to not. It has the support of a lot of languages so it will acquire a good amount of your physical hard disk as well as RAM. Also, it used a high amount of CPU. Also In VS code, Some plugins are not stable and it has some stability issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The only IDE I really want to use"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The customizations and plugins are probably the greatest part of VSCode for me. The ability to run a .Net project, a Node Project, and pretty much anything in between, as well as it's light and fast response versus other IDE's I have used make it ideal for me. Most of my development has been in the front-end over the last 20 years, and VS Code definitely allows me to shine in that world, even with Java heavy projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Not a whole lot. To be honest, I have used dozens of IDE's and VSCode is pretty much all I really want to use these days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One Of The Best IDE For Developers"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is one of the most versatile editors that I have come across. I have never faced any issue while working with different languages in VS Code, whether Python, Java, Cpp, etc. It is the only IDE that supports abundant languages. Therefore no additional IDE is required separately. It also provides us various extensions like the live-server feature, which helps me launch a local development Server with a single click and see live changes there. Also, prettier is one of the best extensions for code formatting.Integration with git in vs code really makes it easy for me collaborate with my other team mates and share code. The integrated terminal is the best thing as we don't have to open a seaprate window for running the applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The few things that I would like to be improved is that the software is bulky and the regular updates make it even more heavier as the time goes by. If there could be a lighter version with minimal features for simple projects, that could be quite useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
