"The best IDE there is. Period."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I use VS Code for literally everything. It is my scratchpad, IDE, and favorite text editor. The best thing about VSCode is that it is light enough to be used on tablets.

The growing ecosystems of extensions keep making the editor better each day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I recently had extensions conflicting with each other with no apparent error popping up. VS Code is a hybrid app, so debugging such issues is similar to debugging a web app. I hope VS Code makes it easy for users to track the problems with extensions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great IDE for Professional Programmers"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VSCode is extremely versitile, works great with many different languages, features a great debugger, and much much more. The configuration files are most often JSON format, easy to read and update. The tool is crossplatform so it works on Windows, Linux, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

VSCode is still in development, so sometimes features you really like/need get broken. The help is also a little sparse, but given enough time, I believe this will be rectified. One more point that can be problematic, VSCode seems to have problems when CMake is used to build executables. For some developers, this would be an absolute no-go, but I imagine that someone has solved this problem, I don't have a great need to track it down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Source code editor with intelligence."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

1. VS code is a good Integrated Development source code editor.

2. Enabled with IntelliSense and debugging code snipet.

3. This is an excellent editor for freshers; they can learn code writing and debugging step by step.

4. Different color themes and display options make it more understandable in reading and writing.

5. This works on Common user interface techniques, which makes it more sensible.

6. Open source is USP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

1. Code debug utility should be enhanced like Visual studio.

2. required more plugins one by one. If anyone missed, we could not run it smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best developer friendly text editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Actually, the originality of the Visual Studio Code seems to be a basic text editor. But a lot of people won't agree with me if I say it's just a text editor as it got almost all the necessary features for a fully-fledged IDE. So the best part is the extension here. These extensions store help Visual Studio Code to be the game-changer for developers who works with many technologies. Because it's easy to work using the same IDE for different technologies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Even though Visual Studio Code got very nice extension sets for all the stacks, curtain technology stacks still require a more optimized IDE. for example it's really difficult to work with the .NET applications using Visual Studio Code Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
