"Semrush Is a Go-To for Site Health, Keyword Research, and Competitor Analysis"
4/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I like to use Semrush for regular crawls of my website, competitor analysis, keyword research and overall improvement of site health. I use Semrush all the time and convinced my company to invest in it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I think Semrush is a bit confusing when it comes to crawling different levels of the website. I sometimes have to look up different crawling options to see which would be the best match for what I am doing. I think there are some pieces of feedback that come from Semrush that I don't understand and need to find more information about. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Semrush Brings All My SEO Insights Together in One Place"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I really like how much information Semrush brings together in one place. I use it regularly for SEO audits, keyword research, competitor analysis, content planning, and tracking website performance across multiple brands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I find it frustrating that some tools are connected directly to an existing project, while others require me to enter the website URL again. It makes navigating between tools feel a little disjointed. I think a more streamlined layout and better integration between tools would make the platform much easier to use. "Helpful content toolkit, but Site Audit accuracy and onboarding need improvement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

The AEO features and the content toolkit have been really helpful for our team. The content toolkit, in particular, helps us brainstorm and write blog content that feels relevant to people in our field. It also frees up time for other priorities, which matters a lot since we’re a nonprofit and already stretched thin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

Some things I dislike about Semrush include how it performs when it comes to showing accurate results in the Site Audit. At times, Semrush flags issues on my site that aren’t actually problems, which makes it harder to know what truly needs attention. I also didn’t love my overall onboarding experience, and I still feel like I’m underutilizing the platform’s capabilities because I don’t have enough knowledge yet. "Easy-to-Use SEO Insights, but Local SEO Is Costly"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I find Semrush’s interface simple to use and laid out well, with all the tools right at my fingertips. There’s no shortage of data, and I can keep drilling down to the facts I need. It’s easy for me to teach my direct reports how to use the platform, and they pick it up immediately. I can find keyword gaps and see what keywords competitors use, then use that information to plan website content. Semrush helps me identify what my customers and audience are searching for and how we can show up better for them. I also appreciate the online support team, since I don’t have questions they can’t answer. The one-on-one coaching and implementation specialists made setup pretty seamless, even for organizations without technical skills, and that’s probably one of my favorite things about Semrush. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I think Semrush is very expensive for local SEO and local pack data. There are other options that are a little more affordable and have similar functionality. Semrush is a premium product, but not all businesses need that, and businesses with multiple locations may not find it the best tool because of the cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Gold Standard for Insights That Powers My Workflow, But Expensive"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

This is the gold standard for insights! Truly helps me in so many areas of my job. I don't know what I would do without it. They really think of everything: from the areas I might want to investigate to things I'd want to track to the Google docs extension so I can get insights live while I write my posts. It doesn't seem to go down as much as other tools. The UX can be a little confusing when you're new, but eventually it is easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I am glad Semrush is working on more and more AEO features, but the toolkit is still not as robust as Profound. I don't see page-level diagnosis or audience-specific research tools. It is cheaper to use semrush than profound, but I've been building my own tools bc honestly it's cheaper than both to make my own. I also feel like Profound has better support. "Versatile Tool for all things SEO"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I enjoy how in-depth SEMrush gets when analyzing the data that we feed into it. It was fairly easy to set up and to connect to all of the other platforms it feeds data from. We use it weekly as a follow-up tool for tracking of our SEO and competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

the paltform has only one issue, where the left hand side pannel doesn't really explain to users what each tool is for. The panel has an overwhelming amount of places to click, sometimes confusing the user as to which tool the user should use. It should be customizable as a banner. The integration as very easy and simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Boosted Website Performance with Semrush MCP and Smooth Claude Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Semrush has helped me improve our website’s performance, especially through its ability to compare my site’s performance with that of competitors. The keyword analysis tool has also been useful for planning content so I can keep pace with my competitors’ performance.

I also like receiving occasional email marketing campaigns from Semrush, particularly the ones that share quick guides, tips, and other performance metric-related content.

Overall, my favorite feature is Semrush MCP, which has made it easy to use my AI tools (Claude) to plan my content for the month. Connecting Semrush MCP with Claude is pretty smooth as well, with little to no issues when using connectors during my tasks.

The interface is also friendly for beginners. I've just started using Semrush around a year ago and I did not have any issues using it altogether thanks to the Search bar that can be easily navigated above, so when I have something I want to look up (e.g. keyword gap, site performance, etc), I just search the keywords.

Value-wise, I feel that I am getting my money's worth. Although I am only using the Pro version, it's more than enough for my site needs. I may consider upgrading as my website expands its operations.

Support from Semrush has been extensive as well. A few months ago, I also received a marketing campaign offering a call from Semrush to check in with me about my experience with Semrush MCP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The only thing that I don't like about Semrush right now is the lack of a separate option for API credits. From my experience when looking into various plans, it seems that the API credits for Semrush is directly linked to its plan offerings.

It would be great to have a separate option for users to purchase API credits as they see fit in their plan. Bundles for API credits would also be useful, as there are people who use Semrush MCP on varying frequencies (e.g. I use it monthly/bi-weekly, while others may need to use it on a daily/weekly basis).

Tailor-fitted plans for API credits would definitely be a game-changer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Instant Competitor Insights, but Pricey and Overwhelming"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I like that Semrush lets me instantly analyze competitors’ organic and paid search traffic, top-performing keywords, and backlinks. I get quick access to competitor data, which eliminates hours of manual searching and helps me pinpoint competitor keywords and backlink gaps. I can regularly track SEO scores and technical health metrics to help prevent major traffic drops. I also value Semrush’s advertising research tools, its content marketing and social media scheduling tools in one visibility platform, and how quick and easy it was to set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I find the subscription tiers quite steep for freelancers and small teams. Since Semrush covers everything from SEO and PPC to content tools, it can feel overwhelming for beginners. I’ve also heard that traffic estimates and keyword data can lag sometimes. I’d like more flexible pricing and a beginner-friendly layout with step-by-step tooltips in complex reports. "Intuitive and Efficient Platform That’s Easy to Navigate"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

The platform is very intuitive and it can be easy to poke around a new tool that I haven't yet explored and at least get started with the basics without much guidance. Basically, I'm able to get in and out with what I'm looking for fairly efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

There are a lot of features that are only accessible via add-ons and additional subscriptions or packages. Even features that feel like they're related to what you're paying for (EXAMPLE: We have the SEO Toolkit, and SEO is very heavily content-based, yet there are content toolkit features we don't have access to, which seems odd.). "Unified SEO and AI Visibility Insights, with Room to Grow"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I like having everything in one place, with unified tools and reporting instead of another login or service in my stack. Semrush’s AI toolkit gives me reporting and visibility metrics for the AI space, and its previously collected data and history provide extra context I can’t get from other tools. Its traditional SEO support is still excellent, especially with so many Google updates, and the AI Visibility Toolkit and Brand information have been invaluable for my AI and AEO/GEO clients. Setup was very easy, and Semrush is generally intuitive. I continue to recommend it to colleagues and clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I’d find longer histories and better control over time frames across all features useful, so I can set specific windows to evaluate. I’d also like more than 10 prompt/topic research downloads, since 10 is barely enough to get started. I’d like more AI information tying specific prompts to traffic and visibility, and more transparency about what changes actually occurred. Sometimes visibility drops or spikes for a month or two before returning to a baseline, with seemingly no reason and very little information explaining why. Also, Looker Studio integration has long been lacking and unreliable, so getting a native, SEMRush built integration package would be a HUGE boon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
