Also, the outlook integration in Sapling saves a lot of time between toggling between applications. The out of office, and the team milestone widgets are very useful to look at information at a short glance. The ability to assign task makes it useful to manage centralised book keeping and reporting in one place rather than having to depend on emails. **What do you dislike about Kallidus?** A plugin that provides relevant information from Sapling into other applications would have been handy. **What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?** As the company grows out of the start-up stage, it has been looking to on-board employees and Sapling comes across as a suitable tool to help us in that journey. Sapling has allowed for task, holiday and information management all in one place, which is the biggest use case the company has at this stage. ### 9. It's somewhat clear where to go and get information. **What do you dislike about Kallidus?** This is supposed to be a portal that represents our culture and story, but there are no 'surprise and delight' aspects to the interface. It looks like a dry b-2-b enterprise interface, and there's nothing interactive about it, so people don't ever think to go to it. As a result, they're rarely accessing the information that's there. The timeline functionality (where you customize your company's timeline) is ugly, confusing, and not interesting. The most important Sapling functionality -- the org chart -- is so buried in the UI that most people don't know about it (even though that's the thing I use Sapling for the most). It's not intuitive to find it, when it should be super prominent. **What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use it to access the org chart so I can remember who manages who, etc. That makes it easier to coordinate and collaborate internally. The company in general uses it for onboarding -- so new hires have a place to go to learn about Figma and get the back story, and complete certain onboarding tasks. ### 12. It auto assigns employees to assist with onboarding, and you can set up multiple workflows easily. The custom fields are easy to add. Report function is pretty good. The org chart function is helpful. Customer service is very helpful and responsive, and they will assist in importing data. Sapling has greatly reduced the time spent on reminding employees and new hires to complete onboarding and professional development tasks. It also has helped us stay in compliance when it comes to our audit. **What do you dislike about Kallidus?** A lot of my "what do you like best" have "but..." at the end. For example, the org chart function is nice, but if you have a really big organization, it's difficult to understand the flow. You can't export workflows to easily do an audit of what the onboarding workflows are. Dragging and dropping in workflows for the order seems like it makes sense, but when the workflow gets really long, it gets hard to organize and know if you're duplicating workflows. I wish when you hovered over the picture of the supervisor, it told you the supervisor's name and title. For the reporting function, I wish you could filter out former employees plus other fields, but you have to do that once it's exported. I don't understand why "Updates" follows you even when you're viewing another employee. I wish if you updated an onboarding task that's in multiple workflows (like the owner or the due date), it would be able to prompt you if you would like to change the onboarding task in the other workflows. **Recommendations to others considering Kallidus:** It's a great product. Customer service is responsive and really helpful. **What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have greatly reduced the reminders we have to send to employees to onboard others or for the new hire to complete. It helps with our audit (e.g. making sure I9s are verified within three business days). We know if new hires are onboarded fully. ### 13. The organization reporting chart is incredibly useful, especially for a remote team, because it gave me a quick sense of who is on what team. I also like the way that "Tasks" operates; being able to check off tasks but still be able to refer to them later if you want to is a very logical feature. **What do you dislike about Kallidus?** I am not sure if the calendar is, or can be, linked with google, but this would be a relevant filter. **Recommendations to others considering Kallidus:** Sapling is worth considering if you're concerned about ease of access for your employees. It is simple for employees to use even if they don't feel adept at navigating technology or accessing clunky websites. **What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?** I haven't run into any problems in the early stages of using Sapling. All relevant information is organized in a straightforward manner and the interface is easy to explore. They have a very friendly team who can assist with a any question and help you for the implementation of Sapling. It is also great for new employee to be able to have a portal to meet and know a bit more about their new coworkers. You can customize each profile page with fun facts to know about the employees. Employee profile pages great for getting to know people better. **What do you dislike about Kallidus?** Certain aspects of the UI are very badly thought out and poorly executed - examples below: - Header image is stretched (they say this is because it's designed to be responsive but this happens on all screen sizes and resolutions - it's just badly coded) - Updating company page often hangs. - Uploading images often fails. - Gallery images are all cropped square which makes no sense and looks awful. Some of the page copy could do with being a bit more customisable. New users also encountered problems signing in/setting up their account, which didn't make for a good first impression - flagged this to Sapling but received no reply :/ I've actually had no contact from Sapling since our implementation date. Very poor follow up, especially considering I subsequently sent queries about log in issue. **What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Due to some of the teething issues noted above and the recent move to remote working brought about by the global Covid19 pandemic, we have yet to fully implement Sapling for onboarding new hires. Ultimately however, I think it will help to consolidate the onboarding process and create more visibility across the onboarding team. ### 35. Also the in House support and weekly check we have with the team is life saving for talking through problems we might be facing or providing feedback for further enhancements. **What do you dislike about Kallidus?** Least helpful feature is that you can't create "folders" for storing relevant digital paperwork in employee's profiles. There's currently a packet option which acts partially like a folder but once you upload the data you have at hand can't add new ones at a later stage. **What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Different onboarding experience per country, ability for different locations to have access to different documents and information, ability to set admin accounts per location in addition to the super admin ones. Things are improving day by day, though. My biggest gripe is that it has some integration with ADP, but we're unable to sync time off hours, so we have to update the time off policies manually. **What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sapling is our first HRIS. Storing information in a centralized location and giving access to managers to that information is super helpful. Previously, managers would have to ask us to pull salary or role history. Now, they can view all the information about the history of their employees. The customization is fantastic.
