Clean look and organized. Very helpful representation - Nick Preston. Great tool for onboarding and making sure all employees get the same experience and tasks completed.

**What do you dislike about Kallidus?**

In Workflows,  when you refresh the page or add a task it loses place and you have to start over. Can we also have 20 tasks (not 10) as a  permanent placeholder? Sometimes hard to find something as grayed out words don't look as though it would be an option.

**What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running reports and making sure all new hires sign onboarding documents. Without Sapling the Operations Team would be very hard to onboard as getting to be a larger company.

Integration with ADP has been rocky - we have had to do dual maintenance between both systems.

**What do you like best about Kallidus?**

I like how you can easily see everyone's essential information, documents, and any important activity (to-dos) that needs to be taken care of. One of the neat features is the calendar integration that shares any updates or to-dos from other teams - this way, cross-functional teams are always in the know and don't forget to do something.

**What do you dislike about Kallidus?**

One of the downsides to Sapling is that it can be a bit buggy and when trying to load sections from time to time or when adding a task/ workflow, it tends to glitch, causing to redo the process again - but this could also be due to internet connection or if you have a lot of apps running in the background.

**What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

People operations are probably the biggest "problem" we are solving with Sapling. its a great tool to utilize on that end, but if you are trying to use it for project managing or tracker, you may be better off using another - but this also depends on the size and scale of the teams (s) and project(s)

The fact that I can create uniform and equitable employee experiences throughout all stages of the employee lifecycle

The interface of sapling isn't always functional or user friendly . Bulk emailing is extremely glitchy and has caused my team alot of extra work in the past when we tried to use the bulk assign/email feature

**What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralizing on and off boarding. I have also realized the benefit of creating templates for employee communications for alot more than just on and offboarding. I use the emails feature to kick off recruiting, QLEs, parental leave meetings, employee information comms etc.

There are some features and elements that I wish were a little more flexible. Like approval workflows.

You'll get the best use by having very clear usecases to build workflows for. It also helps a lot with employee onboarding and offboarding.

We needed a more user friendly face on top of ADP and this works well. We also wanted a better onboarding experience for new hires which this solves for. I also like some of the ease of reporting.

I have been having issues with the integration into other systems like ADP. The team is helpful but there seems to be random issues that keep coming up which creats a lot of addtional work

Sapling has a great way to build workflows. This allows my team to be able to keep things in order without having to communicate every task.

There is a lack of features that I am used to seeing in other HRIS platforms. Most have to do with ease of use. Why can't I easily go between employee profiles for example? I either have to search for each employee or go back to the people page.

I really like the user experience where everything is easy to navigate. I really would like to see a tab for documentation for FAQ troubleshooting, and new features.

**What do you dislike about Kallidus?**

the support team is slow in responding, also the Workflows automation is not fully integrated. I would love to see where I can create a flow to send an email to a new user and be interactive. 
For example: in the workflow- for new hires, we send them an email asking if they are familiar with Computers Mac OS. -> In the email, they will click either a yes or no button. -> Based on the answer there will be another email sent with a set of documents. (If YES- send instructions X, Y, Z. If NO- Send Instructions Y, Z) that way they can then open those documents to configure their own computer before their start date.

Hiring process. and the benefits new hires can access this site without being in our organization. this is the initial setup process of a new user.

Easy to pick it up without any formal training. Reports are fairly easy to run as well.

Lack of support front the Sapling team when we need to build something new or Integrate Sapling with another system. Very slow (over months) without any progress. The org chart feature is really clunky.

Houses our employee data, need a basic HR System for start up.

The actual interface and some of the options available in the onboarding module that allow us to create custom workflows. I also like the ease of changing/updating profile info.

We need WAY more options for merge fields in automated letters. There are literally like 8 choices. We also need some customization for the profile and better integration with our payroll system.

Decent integrations - for example the Slack integration. The Onboarding flow has to be the best that we've ever used, and our newly joined employees praise it, we have to put that on Sapling. Really great

Sooooo slow. For a couple of years Sapling has been talking about rewriting their code to speed things up - but that hasn't happened yet. The platform is just incredibly slow.

An unexpected benefit was the amazing onboarding. Centralising employee data was expected and is good. Not perfect though. Time off management as well, although a few more features would be nice.

There isn't any specific feature that I dislike.  As an end user, I appreciate having list of tasks easily accessible. As an administrator, I appreciate being able to find what I need.

It’s really simple to undo a completed task. Within your completed task list simply click on the check box to deselect it. This will move the task from the ‘Complete’ list to the ‘Incomplete’ list.
Tasks can also easily be assigned to multiple people, for example an entire team, or all staff in a particular geographic location. I’m attaching a link that shares more detail on this.

The onboarding process is smooth, customizable, and easy to use. The customer support was incredible too!

Some areas don't allow complete customizability. We have hit some areas where we couldn't change the name or function of a specific tool / prefab.

Onboarding a rapidly growing team. The ease of getting accounts set up with the AAD integration and forms control and task control.

When using Sapling, the company is able to view each other's profiles, anniversaries, birthdays, statuses, even roles. It's like an employee directory, but easier and convenient to use.

I'm not sure if there's really anything I would say that I dislike about Sapling. However, if I really had to choose, I would say that maybe it would be nice to have the option to add more photos to your profile.

I like how the product seems to think of most things for the team.

I think I'm pretty savvy as it pertains to platforms, but I've struggled a few times to find certain features. The support team has been awesome though, and usually anything I've struggled with, they've been able to help me resolve it pretty quickly.

**What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think for smaller companies, you need like a million different things for onboarding/offboarding and the in-between. I think Sapling is definitely on the right track as it pertains to bringing all of those things to one place.

It is able to present data of employees in a format that is highly customisable for your every needs. The customisation reports ensures you to get the data you need. It also helps to initiate on/off boarding for employees and they are able to key in personal data of themselves.

Leave applications and balances are also easily tracked.

**What do you dislike about Kallidus?**

There are graphs presented for employees data but no functionality to drill down data from graphs directly. Example if I see 20 employees in SG, i can't click and have the system show me the details of this 20 employees. For multiple entity companies, this could be a time saving initiative.

**What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leave tracking and ability to estimate end balance leave as of certain dates. Easy payroll calculations from this.
Workflow arrangements to ensure that system auto kicks a process and notification process on certain tasks.

**What do you like best about Kallidus?**

The future calculations for available time off are super helpful so that I can be informed about vacation requests.  This takes into account the accrual rate and other requested dates.
Less frequently used but also helpful are some basic demographic profiles. I've used fields like dietary preferences, T-shirt size, and home address for various things over the years.  Holiday cards, event planning, etc.

**What do you dislike about Kallidus?**

I wish I export the profiles.  Perhaps this is done as a privacy protection?  I can download my own profile as a CSV file, but not the same for my direct reports. Maybe this is a setting my HR/administrators have set.

**What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time off requests are the most significant use case for my team. The hypothetical calculations sure beat using a spread sheet for determining if a future request will be possible.

Managers can't download data from an employee profile but individual team members can always download their own data. However Managers can be given access to download some team member data via reporting. This is controllable by your HR admin within our Permissions module.

We couldn't integrate our time off tool with Sapling, and the database we upload to the platform didn't work, so we need to do it manually, one by one in our profiles

We have all the info we need on the same platform (salaries, time off, new joiners, leavers, equipment, promotion, etc.), and we can share it with other teams (HR, Facilities, Finance, Managers, etc.)

Sapling was a great solution for us because it syncs with Trinet.  We needed to simplify our onboarding process for our remote team, and Sapling works for all of our needs. I love that its simple, clean and easy to use and schedule things.

It was a little challenging to learn the ins and outs of Sapling.  The platform is not as apparent as some other HRIS type software for learning how to implement your onboarding process.

Sapling has an excellent setup for new hires to get them onboarded and working their first few weeks. Sapling works very well to keep the new hire engaged and work on tasks to get them up to speed. We have also used it as a location to add user data and keep it in one central place. Sapling is very clean and modern, and that is their best selling point.

**What do you dislike about Kallidus?**

Sapling does not have a great onboarding experience with most identity providers where the new hire data is siloed within Sapling and does not move easily to downstream applications. Saplings API has some good features, and with the addition of webhooks is better, we still struggle to get some of the work done we need. Sapling could create more integrations and would benefit by adding more around Okta, Ping, and OneLogin. Being an HRIS platfrom you need to work with all of the SAAS players and this is where we see sapling fall short.

When picking sapling, look into their integration offerings or if you can use their API to get your solution working.

**What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sapling is used within the company to solve for an HRIS system as well as an onboarding platform. There suer interface for onboarding new hires is elegant and very easy to use. We have used their platform to send out new hire onboarding and get the data from our Application tracking system into a central location so we can flow that data down to the new hires. We Have also used their API and Webhooks to hack together user creation and deletion with our IDP. We also use Sapling as a single source of truth for all user data on employees.

Onboarding - our people have really enjoyed the onboarding experience of Sapling!

**What do you dislike about Kallidus?**

Sapling is not necessarily the best HRIS solution for a company as it scales.  We use is for onboarding, primarily, but it's ability to link to other ERP systems and to serve as our full system of record is not fully there, yet.

**Recommendations to others considering Kallidus:**

If you are a small to midsize company looking for a great tool to help you with many of your HRIS needs, Sapling is one you should consider.  Support is very good, as well, and overall, the price is right for the functionality you will need.  We are scaling towards 1,000 employees, with a disctinct lobal population, and we just now find ourselves having to relook all things technical...at this juncture, we have to support much functionality across a lot of different of the business, not just HR, and in multiple countires and continents.  To that end, we are finding that we may very well need to scale our HRIS, in totality, as well.

**What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Sapling mainly for onboarding, and the experience our new hires report is nothing short of fantastic.  They love the ease of getting into the system, the prepopulated tasks that help their onbaording experience and the fact that Sapling reminds both new hires and managers of required tasks is superb.

The ability to create workflows for employees to accomplish specific tasks such as Onboarding, uploading Covid-19 Vaccine record, obtaining signatures of annual compliance forms, etc. This platform has been beneficial during Covid, as we have been onboarding employees remotely.

We want the ability to upload our own Org Chart or make edits to the automatically generated one vs. having it filter through employee records - which may not always be up to date. A Chat function would be fantastic, but I find the message response times very efficient and timely. I can always count on a same-day response, and the video tutorials are beneficial.

Utilize the help guides and the tutorial videos - these are all very informative

It can be a little bit hard to login sometimes. You have to find the link that is specific / particular to your company, much like other resources such as ADP.

It is a central resource to keep employee tenure / department up to date. We are also able to see basic things like where they live, a little bit about them, who their manager is, etc.

Very nice workflow for onboarding members to follow. The steps were clear, with minimal points of frustration and confusion. The timeline of the company's history was a useful, pleasant feature to include.

**What do you dislike about Kallidus?**

I would appreciate a slightly different onboarding experience as an intern for the company this summer. I am very keen on getting to know the incoming class of interns, but aside from a single screen showing the names of the people joining for the summer (which disappeared after pressing "next"), I was unable to identify who among the sprawling list of teammates were fellow interns. I also think the profile section when visiting other users can be improved so that people can press a button to visit a LinkedIn or Twitter page as opposed to having to copy/paste their links. The fact that these profile sections are greyed out (which seems to suggest nothing more than the fact that I don't have permission to edit them) was another visual component that I did not particularly like. Lastly, the intercom chat box takes up a significant amount of space when clicked, and it does not disappear when you click out of it. While its UI is nice, that did not stop me from feeling frustrated overall (this was the one component that annoyed me).

**What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It seems that PagerDuty uses Sapling to provide a consistent onboarding experience for incoming interns and full-time workers. This motivation is quite nice, and as an intern who's probably more concerned about the quality of the onboarding experience than most, the formality of this process was much appreciated. I can tell that Sapling is intended to act as a hub for workers belonging to a company, and I believe this platform can approach it.

Sapling creates a great pre-boarding experience for our new hires. We love how simple it is for all employees to interact with - there isn't a learning curve at all. It has allowed our 3 person people ops team to process 100 new hires in the past 6 months! We LOVE having this in an automated process system.

**What do you dislike about Kallidus?**

The admin capabilities are just okay. The reporting is average, but nothing special. We frequently have to do a lot of manipulation to reports to get what we need. The same can be said about the documents dashboard - there is no reporting capability other than if a document is complete or not.

**What problems is Kallidus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a very manual onboaring process before Sapling. Emails would get missed, new hires would be missed on the calendar, lots of small items falling through the cracks. Sapling has allowed us to simplify and automate our pre-boarding process. The new hire side is seamless and we have been able to create workflows on our side to ensure nothing is missed.

We've also used sapling to integrate with our SSO, HRIS, and Performance Management system to help automate IT's workload.

The onboarding experience for employees is Sapling’s strongest offering. New hires get a glimpse of the team, the company, the culture from the inside before their start date. Automated communication is good.

**What do you dislike about Kallidus?**

We’ve used Sapling for a few years, and it was fine while we were small, but we’ve more than doubled, and the platform is just not growing with us. The behind-the-scenes is fine for smaller teams (<100) but is not a scalable solution in terms of data. We’ve had issues with data reverting, change history issues, and we can't bulk upload data without our CSM. The data upload experience that could help Sapling scale with its growing customer base was problematic, so they removed access to it from employers, and now we need to go through our CSM to get those uploads complete (and we have so many changes that the data uploads aren't keeping up with us). There aren’t good auditing capabilities. There are very few integrations with other tools we use. They are so focused on trying to catch up on the bug backlog that they haven’t rolled out impactful new features.

Sapling is supposed to be our source of truth for employee data. Aside from the major data issues, Sapling is good with the onboarding workflow and enables us to welcome new members to our team and assign custom workflows based on employee lifecycle.

The platform is very user friendly. It is simple to create tasks, follow up with late employee documents, and it keeps our onboarding and off boarding process running fairly smoothly. Also, it is easy to connect with most of our other platforms, which helps cut down on manually entering Information.

We are doing an internal audit of employee documents prior to implementing Sapling. There is no mass import/upload process for said documents. I have to upload them individually and it is very time consuming.

Would be better if we can substract data not from the department, but sub-department
