New HR and L&D staff usually need a long learning period to get familiar with all core functions. Building tailored learning pathways and setting complex team-based assignment rules involves too many scattered menus and extra steps, which slows down our workflow when rolling out new company training initiatives. Many core operational workflows feel outdated compared to modern cloud-based LMS platforms. In addition, the native reporting dashboards offer limited adjustable dimensions, so we cannot directly create targeted statistical views to fit our internal management needs. Sapling is easy to use and is really helpful when first joining an organisation (especially when remote working). It helps get onboarded quickly. As a hybrid worker I found it invaluable. I appreciate the flexibility of the system to set up the fields and workflows I need to run HR processes and also keep track of and report on HR data. While the differentiation from competitors isn't extreme, I do think saplings flexibility with adding fields and seting up workflows is a huge benefit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Kallidus? The navigation on the back end isn't always the most user friendly. Sometimes I have to click through a few different fields to get to what I want. Also, while they have api's available and you can easily set up API keys- I know from one system in particular (knoetic) that they aren't always open and willing to work with that system to send the data in useable ways. Automated tasks, re-assigning tasks, reporting, sequencing tasks, customized fields and forms on employees' profiles make it an easy tool to use for onboarding. With the workflows, there is no way to easily compare tasks across workflows or delete or assign the same task from/to multiple workflows. We have a lot of workflows set up, and it's difficult to manage. Also, it would be so user friendly if when you're on an employee profile, when you scroll down, it keeps the name and information at the top. I often am looking at an employees profile and, now that we're a few hundred, have to scroll all the way back up to see whose profile I'm on - very annoying. Finally, there are issues in pulling reports - I ask it to pull ALL the individuals in Sapling, and some people don't get pulled even though they're in Sapling. We were onboarding using gsheets previously which was super tedious and not fit for our growing needs. We have become more efficient in onboarding people, and I think employees appreciate it. Sapling had an appealing and mostly intuitive user interface. The integration with Greenhouse was very helpful when it came to moving candidates into the onboarding stage. Sapling has some limited functionalities that we've been able to solve by moving our onboarding over to Paylocity instead. I also found some issues in creating the customized workflows like setting the relative dates and not being able to assign the same customized task to multiple people. Our team became permanently distributed during the pandemic and this tool has made it so much easier for each stakeholder in this process to clearly understand what is happening from a hiring perspective, and what tasks they're responsible for.
