I love the ability of tying a click to a lead and/or an opportunity. It allows us to ensure we're making the most of budget and driving a healthy ROI. We've been able to scale our paid media campaigns thanks to the help of the software and how it integrates with Google, Bing, Meta, LinkedIn, Reddit and more. We're hitting all-time revenue records and consistently driving more lead volume year over year. The ability to build campaigns and audiences in the Metadata.io UI and push to multiple sources saves so much time for our team.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

There's definitely a learning curve when it comes to navigating the UI. However, we have managed services with some of the Metadata.io team which is a huge help when we need support and/or learning new features and processes from their team.

**What problems is Metadata.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Metadata.io, we're able to scale out our paid campaigns to drive more leads and revenue than we have ever before. We're also able to make decisions based on ROI and CAC targets to ensure we're using our budget efficiently. As a one person team here, their managed services also help me build and launch new campaigns quickly and optimize campaigns allowing me to use my time on bigger picture projects for digital.

Multi-touch attribution is directionally right, not surgically precise. Hard to confidently defend influence vs. causation in complex deals.

The problem is that every test requires human setup, learning cycles take weeks and budgets burn while teams “wait for data”. Metadata automates campaign creation, testing, and optimization, runs parallel experiments without manual rebuilds and shuts down losers early. This means faster learning velocity with the same spend, fewer human hours managing ads and moving from monthly learnings to weekly.

I love how intuitive and efficient Metadata is, it makes creating and managing ads across multiple platforms seamless. Their customer support is outstanding (shoutout to Matt and Joshua!). Any time I run into a technical issue, the team resolves it within hours. Matt goes above and beyond, not only providing technical support but also offering strategy and optimization guidance.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

There are a small handful of functions available on native platforms that aren’t yet in Metadata. But in the majority of cases when I request a feature, the team is able to add it to the platform.

**What problems is Metadata.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Metadata brings all of our paid social ads into one platform, giving us full visibility into campaigns, metrics, and performance without the hassle of pulling data from multiple sources. While native platforms can be slow and time-consuming when creating ads, Metadata streamlines the entire process.

I am impressed with Metadata.io's bid optimization, which works remarkably well and provides a solid foundation for managing and maximizing ad efficiency. However, my favorite feature is the audience builder. It offers a vast array of options for building an audience, ranging from intent to technographics, and can be directly linked to our CRM, incorporating enrichment features along the way. This flexibility and depth in audience building not only enhance targeting precision but also improve campaign effectiveness. Additionally, the integration capabilities of Metadata.io with platforms such as Salesforce, Google Analytics, LinkedIn Ads, and Google Ads streamline workflow and data management, fostering a seamless digital advertising strategy. Overall, these features contribute significantly to its value, making Metadata.io a crucial tool in our daily ad management tasks.

Changing campaigns in flight needs more work and needs to be more centralized. The inability to easily change creative, audience, and bidding for an active campaign in one place is frustrating. Often, it seems more efficient to create a new campaign by duplicating the old one, but doing so results in the loss of historical data.

I find Metadata.io simplifies daily ad management. Its bid optimization and audience builder, which integrates CRM and offers various audience-building methods, are particularly valuable features.

Metadata has become an essential part of how we run our paid campaigns. There’s a bit of a ramp-up to learn the functionalities of the platform, especially if you’re used to building campaigns directly in LinkedIn. Once you get comfortable in the platform, you really start to save time. 

Being able to easily test different creatives and audiences without rebuilding campaigns from scratch has been a huge time-saver. The platform takes a lot of the busywork out of campaign management and lets us focus more on what’s actually performing. 

The support team has been fantastic—our CSMs has been incredibly helpful and proactive throughout our time using Metadata.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

Overall way more positives than negatives, but my main frustration is limited flexibility once a campaign is live. There are ways to edit the audience, but if you want to swap out ad variations or landing pages you usually have to stop and clone the campaign making real-time optimizations more time consuming than we would like. 

I’ve also noticed that when LinkedIn releases new ad types or features, it can take a while before they’re available in Metadata.

It helps our team do more with less. We can test different campaigns, learn faster, and avoid the manual grind of setting up every ad one by one. For a lean team, that’s a big win!

The best thing about Metadata is how much time it saves me. Running paid campaigns across multiple channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Google, etc.) used to be such a manual, fragmented process — but Metadata brings it all into one place and automates a lot of the heavy lifting.

On top of that, their support team is genuinely one of the best I’ve worked with. They’re super responsive, proactive, and always willing to jump on a call to help troubleshoot or offer advice. It feels like they really care about your success, not just the software.

No dislikes to note. We are thoroughly enjoying the platform.

But what truly sets the experience apart is partnering with someone like Fe. She goes beyond support bringing strategic insights, proactive recommendations, and a genuine investment in your success. Fe doesn’t just help you run campaigns, she helps you elevate them.

While the platform does a great job enabling fast campaign setup, certain optimization and tracking features still require jumping into the native platforms to complete. Bringing more of these capabilities directly into Metadata would help make it a true one-stop shop for end-to-end campaign management.

Audience targeting - because of the ability to integrate with Salesforce and their dynamic audience feature, our account based audiences get automatically updated and we don't need to rely on constantly uploading account lists to ad platforms 

Software + services model - traditional agencies weren't providing what we needed. The managed services model has provided the right strategy and support to run new tests, better utilize the platform, and provide ongoing campaign management.

Reporting - Metadata provides many different types of reports and analyses that are easy to view that help us understand the impact of our campaigns (accounts reached/engaged, creative performance, channel performance, etc.)

Occasional issues with funnel reporting and attribution

Metadata makes launching, managing, and updating ad campaigns simple and streamlined. The reporting functionality is comprehensive, and allows you to take as high-level or granular a view as you need. Additionally, Metadata's new bid agent is very effective, and has helped reduce cpc and cpl significantly across our ad campaigns!

No downsides to report. If we ever do have questions or issues the team is hyper responsive and helpful.

**What do you like best about Metadata.io?**

It's powerful and easy to use. Especially if you are running ads on multiple platforms, it's challenging to keep track of everything and log into various ads platforms to upload ads. With metadata this process is massively simplified - one log in, and you can quickly add creative and copy and duplicate ads across platforms. That plus the better targeting and reporting options make it a no brainer.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

You do lose some of the control you get when you're working directly in an ads manager. For example, in the past when I ran ads on FB I would use existing ads with tons of social proof built up (reactions, comments, shares). Over time these ads become real assets for the business. In Metadata, every new test creates a new ad that starts from scratch when it comes to social proof (frankly all platforms like metadata do this, so it isn't specific to them necessarily). Not really a make or break, but that would be a cool feature to add at some point.

**What problems is Metadata.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running ads across multiple platforms without a dedicated ads manager. Lot of time savings on uploading ads, launching new tests and offers, managing budgets (happens automatically), and reporting. 

Better targeting than native options. This is a big one.

Better reporting, and a direct integration with hubspot (we use the combo of hubspot and metadata reporting for the best accuracy).

Metadata is extremely easy to use on a daily basis and easy to implement with your tech stack (especially thanks to the help from their support teams). The platform gives you access to more dynamic audiences, easier A/B testing, and has dramatically improved social ad performance for my team at two separate companies.

In LinkedIn, Metadata campaigns will sync to only one campaign group. My advice is to set up an easy campaign naming convention that can be followed on Metadata and in native LinkedIn campaigns.

Metadata.io has an amazing intent database that allows me to finally reach the RIGHT audience! So I won't be wasting my advertising dollars on getting the ads in front of the wrong eyeballs anymore. So excited!

I do wish there was a resource library where I could self train, but the training they are providing is great. So maybe this isn't even necessary.

**What problems is Metadata.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past, we haven't been able to determine who is seeing our ads or what pipeline is generated from our ads. Metadata.io gives us much more insight into who we are serving our ads to, as well as if we are seeing an ROI.

**What do you like best about Metadata.io?**

Getting visibility into which campaigns are driving actual results. Making bulk changes to campaigns. Their matching is pretty good for complex match scenarios and we can create audiences that we wouldn't be able to in other tools.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

It is not an intuitive product at all and not easy to use. It's very confusing to navigate and get to what you what, lots of manual steps flipping between different tabs to find the info. Product has bugs that we are constantly surfacing to the team yet doesn't seem to be improving. Support is okay sometimes but also not great other times. When we first bought the tool, we knew it was still evolving but years later it doesn't seem to have evolved at the speed we see with other vendors evolve the product so it feels a bit outdated at this point.

Building and optimizing LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram ads out of one hub is a HUGE time-saver. Also, the ability to aggregate data for creative performance across channels is magic. It's clear that Metadata is investing heavily in its reporting functionality, which means this will only get better over time. As a lean social team, I simply would not go back to running our programs natively in-platform.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

Change management is a bit of a feat. Optimizing video campaigns can require some muscle + discipline around auto-pause settings out the gate, since they may not hit CTR or CPC thresholds even when view rates and engagement are strong. New feature releases from LinkedIn are not immediately available on Metadata, so if you want to test new products, you'll likely have to do that natively in-platform for a short time.

**What problems is Metadata.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time savings -- Context switching between Meta Ads Manager and LinkedIn Ads Manager for ads with the same (or similar) creatives is a time suck. Metadata gives you the ability to build an ad for 1 platform and then duplicate it for the others. 
Reporting -- Of course you can create BI reports with platform data across LinkedIn and Meta, but do you have a marketing analyst on the team? It's much faster and simpler with Metadata. 
Audiences -- Metadata gives you access to a number of audience targeting capabilities, including Metamatch (targeting B2B contacts on Meta), technographic targeting, and integrations with partners like G2.

Integrations with ad platforms, specifically Linkedin. Makes it easy to setup and manage campaigns. The platform layout is really simple and easy to navigate. New spotlight feature helps us to build a reliable ABM approach.

Setup is a process, it took us several months to get things working correctly. Also, I had many issues running Google ads through the platform, specifically in regard to performance, which is confusing.

**What do you like best about Metadata.io?**

I could probably end my review with just the title, but I'm a big fan of MetaData, so I will continue. The easy of use to combine audiences into target groups and reuse those groups across multiple campaigns is a real game changer.  We save a lot of time managing our spend each month with the budget groups feature, and the optimizer has helped us reduce our CPL in <6 months.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

As I write this review on 11/28/23, there are still some missing key features. Specifically, the ability to create native campaigns with multiple ads in them. I'm told this feature is on their roadmap, so check when you're considering the purchase. This doens't make MetaData unusable, but it causes us to still use native campaigns in a few use cases where we otherwise would not.

Our audiences in LinkedIn are more up to date, and we've been able to find success on Meta's ad platforms where previously we did not. 10/10 would recommend for any B2B Marketer.

The platform is very powerful yet intuitive and helped us target a key audience, iterate on messaging, and test a ton of variables in a campaign tied to our business goals. I trust both the automation and the tool and the expertise of the team - the Customer Success team (s/o Heidi and Matt!) was instrumental in my onboarding and the success of our latest campaign. Our company has partnered wiht Metadata for a long time, but as a new user, I really appreciated the partnership.

There are a couple kinds of social media ads (e.g. LinkedIn right rail ads) that have to be done in the native platforms vs. in Metadata. I would prefer to use Metadata for everything!

**What do you like best about Metadata.io?**

After switching from another tool (6sense), we were initially hesitant about adopting metadata. However, once we went live, we immediately experienced remarkable success using the various channels that metadata offers. Previously, our primary source of success was limited to Google Ads, which required significant manual effort. With Metadata, this manual burden has been lifted, and it has proven to be extremely helpful in automatically optimizing campaigns without the need for constant manual intervention.

In the past, we had not been fortunate with LinkedIn and some other channels, but things took a positive turn when we launched campaigns directly through Metadata. What impressed us the most were the robust analytics, user-friendly interface, automatic optimization of campaigns, and the ability to customize and define our own criteria for MQL (Marketing Qualified Leads) / SQL (Sales Qualified Leads).

Overall, Metadata has revolutionized our marketing efforts and provided us with a more efficient and effective way to drive success across various channels. We are delighted with the results and highly value the insights and automation it brings to our campaigns.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

At present, we utilize a personalized meeting booker on our website, but we are facing challenges when it comes to properly attributing credit back to the original campaigns within metadata. One aspect that we find unsatisfactory is the limited integration with many newer marketing tools, including chatbots like Drift or Qualified. We wish there were better compatibility and seamless connections with these platforms to enhance our overall marketing efforts.

Being able to target the accounts on our ICP on Facebook makes Metadata an invaluable product for us. Not to mention we get the best service from our Success Managers. Who are absolutely some of the best I have ever worked with.

Wish it didn't take so long to get set up and running. But there are a lot of moving pieces. I'm sure it will be better soon but Its definitely worth the setup time.

Make sure to get all parties to the table when getting set up. Marketing Ops, Demand Gen and anyone else to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Metadata makes it easy to launch ads across multiples platforms, rapidly deploy experiements, automate ad management rules, and target B2B audiences on FB.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

It would be perfect if you could manage all features and ad types in Metadata- not just some of them. You get all the main/important ones of course. And I understand why certain ad types wouldn't work in the platform. But it would be nice to have a comprehensive platform where I never had to leave to run my ads.

**What problems is Metadata.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Two problems: time/resources and targeting. It takes time and resources to deploy ad experiements across platforms. In Metadata, you can do it in minutes. And targeting B2B audiences on FB is basically useless without quality B2B data to build audieneces. Metadata gives you LInkedIn level targeting on Faceook.

**What do you like best about Metadata.io?**

Metadata brings multiple ad platforms in one place to increase efficiency and save you time with duplication features (ads, offers, audiences, etc). Learning the platform was quick and intuitive, especially if you have experience with FB, LI, etc.

Besides the platform, Metadata has an all-star customer experience team that have helped me ramp up quickly, are constantly sharing best practices, and making great suggestions to improve campaign performance. If there are any issues, they take care of them in minutes, not days or weeks. I've had reps from all the big platforms, and Rosie Cutrer and Raul Moreira really feel like an extension of my team. Can't say enough good things about Rosie! Another thing to add here: reps from the ad platforms (Google, Meta, etc.) almost always push you to spend more. Rosie and team actually want you to succeed in your campaigns vs. just spending more budget; there is a difference!

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

Not much! There have been a few little bugs here and there, but again, when I send them over to Rosie and Raul, we are usually able to fix them very quickly. Would love to see some further integrations with things like Pardot and ability to promote LinkedIn Live Events; that would be cool (think MD might already be working on these).

Bringing all your B2B paid advertising platforms into one place. Saving you time in creating, optimizing, and reporting on campaigns. Also, they integrate with things like Salesforce (and others) so you can see performance all the way through the funnel.

I really like that I don't have to go into the native platforms and I can launch everything through one platform. I also really like how we can get our audiences from Hubspot and other platforms. Our reporting is also really easy when we use MetaData, all of the info is right there in one place.

I think our least favorite part is that we can't edit a campaign after it's launched, we have to duplicate the campaign and then edit it. It's just a small dislike!

Metadata is a great tool for ABM and paid social. You can reach incredibly specific audiences and run easy tests and experiments. The support from their team is amazing, from our Customer Success Rep, a performance strategist, and access to their technical support team. When we do have technical issues, they are able to submit tickets and escalate our issues quickly and resolve any problems. We've had great success with Metadata so far!

The only issue we have seen so far is that you cannot make edits to anything that is live. If you want to update an audience, form, ad, or full campaign, you will need to duplicate and create a new one. It would be much more seamless to be able to make edits to live campaigns like you can on most ad platforms.

When using Optimizer, it sometimes doesn't spend the full budget due to performance even if we're willing to spend a bit more
Retargeting audience builds needs to be separated out individually to its own buckets whereas we're able to group them together in the campaign level of LinkedIn and Facebook

While the UI is overall very intuitive and easy-to-use, I still find it a challenge to take care of certain tasks without asking our CSM for help. But the CSM is very helpful and I am learning more of the ins and outs!

It's easy to talk about the automated testing and 1-to-1 job title matches (MetaMatch allows you to target people on social media by their exact title, even on Facebook, which is a gold mine for B2B in this regard). Still, the actual value of Metadata is in your onboarding and account management team.

You're paired with an account manager, a technical onboarding specialist, and a performance marketer as a Metadata customer.

If you're like me, you've experienced burnout with vendor calls that provide no value and every time you join; it's an upsell sales call.

No at Metadata. Nope.

Each call with your account manager and performance market results in actionable and strategic takeaways.

The recommendations aren't cookie-cutter, either. They're tailored to your unique marketing strategy. If you need to, reread this last sentence because this is the difference between actualizing value and just spending for the sake of spending.

The performance marketer understands your unique needs and how to structure your campaigns to get your desired results. Your account manager understands the strategy you're after and works closely with the performance marketer. The platform automates 90% of the manual work required to set up new tests and campaigns.

Ultimately this means if you're looking to onboard a performance marketer this year and are currently managing all of your campaigns in native channels, you can realistically offset this hire for a year or so.

In my experience, the delta between onboarding Metadata and hiring an in-house performance marketer is considerable. Not to say that there's no place for an in-house performance marketer, but by onboarding Metadata before hiring them, you give them a solid foundation to start from.

It's not a dislike, but before you set up your budget groups and first campaigns, I recommend reading their playbooks. If you're familiar with native ad platforms like LinkedIn, it's not a 1-to-1 translation in Metadata due to the way they structure the campaigns. Honestly, that's a superpower more than anything.

We had reached a point of diminishing returns using native ad platforms. It helped validate our new positioning and build our top-of-funnel audience, but as we ramp up pipeline generation now that we have a firm baseline, we needed some lift to make the most of our budget.

This platform shaves hours off of the work I need to do for paid social campaigns. Aside from the robust functionality, the service team is superb -- I've worked with a lot of MarTech providers before and the team at Metadata.io is incredible. I can say a lot of what has made this platform so imperative to our paid efforts has been the support, guidance, and hands-on approach this team has taken with our account when we really needed it. Plus, the platform is always expanding in functionality and the help docs and Community are incredibly resourceful.

If you've never used a platform like this, the approach to the experiments might be a little tricky to grasp at first. But as I mentioned before, the hands-on "how do we support you best" nature of their team really made this a short and easy learning curve.

**What problems is Metadata.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing various audiences, creatives, and offerings; optimizing paid social spend; cutting time and hands-on work that would be required to do this natively in the platform; service team provides excellent input on strategy, campaigns, measuring, optimizing, etc. -- we really think of them as consultants to a degree with their expertise. The team here and the solution is almost looked at like an extension of our Demand Gen team even though Metadata.io is a software company, not an agency or consulting firm. The team behind the product is just that good.

While there have been a few areas where we've needed extra support, overall, the team has been responsive and helpful.

In my experience working with Metadata, I've learned that being very specific with your requests is important. It's easy for details to get missed if you don't provide clear instructions and double-check their work. While this can be said for any agency or vendor, we had a lot of back and forth to get our first campaigns going with Metadata. However, once we established clear expectations, Metadata was responsive and reliable. They worked with us to ensure our campaigns met our standards and requirements.

Small but the audience definitions can't be easily edited once built. I end up doing a lot of copying, tweaking, and archiving. If you have a good sense of who you're targeting though you won't need to tweak and rebuild.

Metadata does a lot of things well that allow me and my digital demand team to support the rest of our marketing organization. Such as:

1. Targeting: the platform has a plethora of targeting options which can be a bit overwhelming, but the combination of LinkedIn targeting + Salesforce dynamic lists has been especially powerful for us. Particularly for ABM campaigns, we can use SFDC fields (including 6sense predictive values) to build dynamic account lists. This means we don't have to manually refresh account lists in the ad platform.

2. Reporting: Metadata's reporting is awesome. I find it even more valuable than our multi-touch attribution tool. Take a look at their Reports tab; the triggered opportunities and cohort dashboards are probably my two favorites.

3. Automation: the platform can auto-optimize bids and budget around CPL, CPC, pipeline, pipeline ROAS, revenue, ROAS... whatever you prefer. This is a huge time saver. When we have an ad/campaign that is working, I know Metadata is going to keep it well funded, taking budget away from the poor performer. 

4. Ease of use: once you're up and running, launching a new ad campaign, or new creative variation, takes a fraction of the time.

5. Lead enrichment: huge win for our BDR team. The vast majority of leads now have business emails, unlike our pre-Metadata LinkedIn Lead Gen campaigns.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

Onboarding was a challenge, particularly because of our lead flow. We had lots of issues getting leads from LinkedIn to Metadata into Marketo into Salesforce. This may have been a unique problem due to our instance, but Metadata couldn't help much. I wish there had been more pre-sale discussion and planning around the lead workflow, as well as more support from Metadata regarding Marketo/Salesforce. The average person may not realize that Metadata is manually enriching lead information and then pushing that into your marketing automation system. The lead info does not flow via a lead form (like the rest of our inbound efforts and past LinkedIn Ad campaigns).

The platform is also costly, especially compared to using the ad channels directly which costs nothing beyond the ad spend. However, it is less expensive than an agency and allowed us to bring our paid social management in-house, which was a big win for my team. Because of the cost, Metadata is not for everybody. But if you're in B2B, sell a high ARR product, and spend a lot monthly in paid social, Metadata is very valuable.

There's a somewhat steep learning curve, but that is to be expected with such a powerful tool.

Leads are nice but it's all about pipeline and revenue. Metadata also allows us to run smarter ABM campaigns; we combine 6sense predictive data with our Salesforce data and Metadata's targeting to run a "1-to-few" ABM campaign that is segmented based on inferred buying stage. With Metadata, I can ensure the rest of the marketing team that our latest and greatest content from integrated campaigns is reaching the right buyers within our target accounts AND generating leads with quality contact information for our BDRs.

**What do you like best about Metadata.io?**

The onboarding process, live training, and support we get from our customer success team are second to none! Metadata has greatly helped us to hone in on our very niche B2B audience with new audience types not available natively in LinkedIn and Facebook. We've improved our lead quality significantly now that we are getting business emails for the majority of leads (something that seemed impossible previously) and thanks to Metadata's lead enhancement, we're now providing our sales teams with more information about each lead and their company so they can have more productive outreach. Thanks to Metadata, we can now attribute MQLs and, more importantly, sales pipeline to specific ads which makes optimization so much more efficient and also helps us create more banners and ad copy like our top-performing content.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

Really nothing, obviously there are always ways to improve the tool, but they make it easy to submit enhancement requests and in only a few months we've seen the product evolve greatly and provide many new features that we asked for.

Getting valid business email addresses and contact info for leads so sales can have successful outreach, attributing MQLs and pipeline to specific ads, making launching new paid social campaigns and building audiences so much faster, and quickly giving us actionable reporting on our campaigns. For a small team like ours this tool has allowed us to spend much less time managing budget and optimizing ads and given us more time to focus on testing new content, ads, and audiences.

Fantastic tool for creating several campaigns and even helps you publish them over multiple channels and track the status. It is a very intuitive and straightforward process for deploying ads. The platform allows you to target correct and genuine customers for your company. The integration and collaboration process is excellent for this system. Even the software is easy to use and handy to set up for everyone.

**What do you dislike about Metadata.io?**

The platform does not have features for making changes to the campaign or the advertisement published or submitted on social media. We can not edit the deployed ads.
The software sometimes disconnects with the integrated platforms due to server-down issues or poor internet problems.

**What problems is Metadata.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BEing able to easily manage all the account's data and information in one place. Input from customers and organizations is stored on this device, and everything is safe and encrypted. Being able to publish ads over multiple channels for attractive more customers towards our organization. The software really benefitted in our companies sales and revenue.
