  ### 1. Ring Central is an alternative to Zoom, but Zoom is still the winner

**What do you like best about RingCentral Video?**

I like the price of RingCentral Video.  The free option has a lot of features that Zoom doesn't offer.

**What do you dislike about RingCentral Video?**

I didn't like the video quality and even though the features were available in the free option, the video connection quality was not as smooth and user interface was much better on zoom.

**What problems is RingCentral Video solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved the problem of the time limit on video conferencing that other video conferencing platforms charged for.  It provided an unlimited length for free users.  However, I hear they have made some changes to the platform and put a cap now on the time limit.

**What do you like best about RingCentral Video?**

We were excited to try a new video/phone system (coming out of Skype and JoinMe). The salespeople are relentless and promise excellent, cookie-cutter deals if you meet their minimum number of users. We were looking for a software solution rich with features such as Video, text, fax, video invitation and meeting creation. They offered applications for both Windows and Mac in addition to phone apps.

**What do you dislike about RingCentral Video?**

RingCentral has one of the longest customer services waits we have experienced. The few times we had to call them to get our billing issue resolved, they transferred us to multiple departments, and each time, they would prompt us with security questions. After two hours of wait time and transfers, we finally talked to the correct person in billing. We decided not to use their equipment, so we returned it, but they were unwilling to provide us with a return label. We had to pay for our own, and they required the package to be insured. We attempted to cancel their service after using it for two weeks, but they refused since RingCentral had reported a signed contract of 24 months, even though we had only agreed to a trial run. RingCentral rarely works out in the suburbs or on the road, so if you are a traveling executive, you will be dropped from meetings every couple of minutes.

**What problems is RingCentral Video solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a software solution with all the features: video, texting, conferencing, meeting scheduler, etc. We need it to work on all platforms: Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, tablets, browsers, etc.

  ### 3. Great idea but execution falls short of being a great program.

**What do you like best about RingCentral Video?**

I like that the video function is built right into the phone service application. The ability for you to view your outlook calendar and contacts is also fantastic!

**What do you dislike about RingCentral Video?**

The application is very buggy compared to the built in web browser app. Video meetings will sometimes freeze up and audio and my microphone will cut out. Sometimes the screen will turn white and freeze up in the middle of a meeting, so you can still communicate in the meeting and hear the users talking to you in the meeting but the screen is a frozen solid white box with no buttons to press to try to refresh the meeting. The only way to resolve it is to close out of the meeting, close out of RingCentral entirely then reopen the program and try to join back into the meeting. And even then there is still a possibility of the meeting freezing up again. This issue is very constant in my company, I've tried turning on the compatibility setting in the settings to resolve the issue, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Meetings still freeze up. The settings are also very convoluted and hard to find, they are hidden behind three layers of menus. The last complaint that I have with RingCentral Video is that audio from sources on a shared screen does not work unless you are running the meeting from a browser, and even then it will only capture the audio from the browser and no other programs on your computer. Very frustrating if you are trying to show a video to your company or department in a meeting. The only solution to a lot of these issues is to run RingCentral Video via the web browser.

**What problems is RingCentral Video solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been using RingCentral for over 3 months now and have not noticed any attempt to resolve the issues mentioned above. No updates, no solutions even though others have mentioned all the issues on their help desk site.

**What do you like best about RingCentral Video?**

I like that it is encoded and that I can use it during work hours.

**What do you dislike about RingCentral Video?**

I dislike that it is not easily compatible with other phones. Other people usually do not want to participate in it. Furthermore, once it is connected it does not connect well.

**What problems is RingCentral Video solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving the problem of ease of needing a versatile way to engage with my clients from my home. I like that it quickly connects people without worry of encryption issues.

**What do you like best about RingCentral Video?**

I use RingCentral primarily for presenting webinars, and when it works as expected, it's great. We use source link tracking for registration pages, launch survey after broadcast, poll questions, automated email reminders to registrants, and chat during webinars. All of these features work well for us.

**What do you dislike about RingCentral Video?**

We've experienced issues with the webinar video cloud recording file not functioning, the registration page not working correctly on certain browsers, and prospective attendees being unable to download the application and access the broadcast. When we experience these issues, support is quick to respond but very rarely solves the problem.

**What problems is RingCentral Video solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The webinar platform is good, and we've used it for many successful broadcasts. It seems to have gotten more stable over time, making it less stressful to present webinars with hundreds of attendees without fear that a RingCentral issue will cause problems.

The one nice thing was having everything coming into one place.

**What do you dislike about RingCentral Video?**

There were always technical issues. Nothing ever worked correctly. I had so many missed calls, texts and video messages because the application would always have some sort of issues.

**What problems is RingCentral Video solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are no problems being solved and no benefits of using RingCentral. If anything, more problems are being created.

The only thing that I don't mind about this app is that it lets you know when people are online. 

**What do you dislike about RingCentral Video?**

I think that there are far betters app out there. Even with push notifications on, I am never notified of things. Most of the time with this app, I receive emails from people asking if I have gotten their Glip messages. 

**What problems is RingCentral Video solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not solving any business problems with Glip because it ends up causing me more problems, and takes more time to get in contact with someone.

**What do you like best about RingCentral Video?**

The ability to choose a skin is one of the very few features I appreciate about Glip. Even then, I only like and use one.

**What do you dislike about RingCentral Video?**

Basically everything. Everything it is meant to do it does with lackluster compared to Slack or most other messaging apps; anything it's attempted to excel at over alternative platforms is generally a flop (e.g. Giphy integration, emoji use, search, etc.). There is so little to like, and so much has needed updates in the last few months that you can tell no one was trying to develop a good program from the start—it's all responsive to complaints. Not how you should go into app development...

**Recommendations to others considering RingCentral Video:**

If you use all of RingCentral, sure, go ahead and try Glip. But know it's basically an infant. No walking (or even crawling) around in good spirits for a while yet.

I guess it's better than email?

**What do you like best about RingCentral Video?**

I like that it allows my colleagues and I to communicate with each other. I also appreciate that it's a secure forum.

**What do you dislike about RingCentral Video?**

The app is very overwhelming. I feel like it is a lot of organized chaos and that it's hard to filter through messages effectively. It feels like facebook but for work and without photos. Just lots and lots of texts for a huge group that I can't get out of.

**What problems is RingCentral Video solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't feel like there are a ton of benefits. I've stopped using it all together because it was overwhelming - due to the multiple platforms i'd communicate with my clients on. It just felt like "too much." 

  ### 11. My account was deleted and all my data lost without me being informed.

**What do you like best about RingCentral Video?**

It's a great tool, but  the loss of all my project tracking data has left me shell-shocked.

**What do you dislike about RingCentral Video?**

Here's the problem...
When someone creates a Glip account (let's call them UserA, Glip looks at the domain name in their email. If they are the first user from that domain they are automatically set as the domain administrator. They are not told they are the domain administrator and are offered no option.
When another person with the same domain creates an account (let's call them UserB) they are automatically assigned to the same "team" in Glip. They are not offered any other option and they do not know that they have a domain administrator. 
UserA knows nothing about UserB and UserB knows nothing about UserA. They do appear in each other's dashboards but it could be assumed that's just for convenience. It is in no way obvious that the two user accounts are dependent on each other.
When UserA deletes his account he is automatically deleting ALL ACCOUNTS FOR THE DOMAIN. when he has no idea that he is responsible for these accounts. NONE OF THE OTHER USERS ARE WARNED BEFORE THEIR ACCOUNT IS DELETED.

Be careful with the free account if you are in a large organization.
