## CIENCE Reviews
  ### 1. Waste of money and resources. Avoid at all Costs

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2024

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

There was no benefit from working with CIENCE.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

We were extremely disappointed with the services provided by this CIENCE. Despite 6 months of interactions and repeated assurances, they did generate a single new lead for our business. Their call center reps are all located offshore and have little to no sales experiece.
The proprietary software they provided was cumbersome and far from intuitive. It frequently malfunctioned and did not perform as promised, causing delays and additional frustration for our team.
Overall, this company failed to deliver on every promise, wasting both time and money. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for reliable lead generation services.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Do not spend your money with them. They have no sales expertise, no employee training programs and offer nothing more than a fancy website and brochure.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

B2B Lead Generation Company

  ### 2. Building our top of funnel was a nice blend of Art and CIENCE!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff M. | Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2024

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

There is no disconnect between Sales teams and their Growth teams. Sales was articulate in helping prescribe a solution. We sought them out for a different solution that would have cost us more and made them more money. But they understood the problem to solve and prescribed a solution that is meeting the objectives.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

There is a bit. of black box magic in how things work. This had no negative impact on us or our results, but as a person who likes to know how things work...and why...I have a void there. I just know their system is working.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

They rovide a lot of helpful services. My recommendation is to really understand your problem well and define that for them. They do a good job prescribing the right fit. They approach it as 'What's the problem so we can provide the right solution. So many others we vetted approached things as 'Here's the solution...what's your problem?'

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We recently completely changed our business model and products to something entirely new. This meant the audience we had been building for 10 years that knew us for one product were not all relevant to the new offering, which meant we needed a fast way to get MQLs into our funnel. CIENCE is delivering across the board on this initiative.

  ### 3. Buyer Beware

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2024

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

1 of our 4 project managers was very knowledgeable about the space.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Where to start... we churned through 4 different campaign managers, so we never got our footing in the actual campaign. A lack of knowledge about their own platform. The platform never actually worked.

The biggest thing was that their outreach pivoted from manual copy creation to AI generated. Nothing sounded real and veyr few people even responded to the email or linkedin outreach.

There is a clear talent shortage in the organization as well as an identify crisis of their value prop. Nothing worked and we wasted time and money over 4 months.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Please consider other providers. You need to know that there is never a silver bullet in lead generation, but this service will not solve your problems. I would not call it a scam per say but be aware the platform does not work and you will not get the level of service to fix the many issues.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CIENCE is a service that reaches out to prospects for you by pretending to be your dedicated SDR. They are supposed to buy you time back by handing all lead efforts, so you can focus on closing the promising deals.

  ### 4. Provided the net new start I needed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin Z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The hands on approach. They wanted me to be successful so I will continuw working with them. They also communicate incredibly well and have been incredibly responsive.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Nothing so far, the expectations they set are what I'm getting. They have helped us with a net new pipeline and good data for us to nurture.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

The marketing space is complex and everyone claims to have some "thing" that makes them better. The team at Cience doesn't promote a secret sauce and this I really like. They are just insanely organzied and respond really quickly. They took the time to explain to us how to get better at targeting because they want us to exceed. They also just have a different view of sales process that feels calculated and well thought out. I didn't feel like I was just buying some leads, I felt like they were helping build my business.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Net new pipeline for our credits and incentive software and service. They helped us focus in on one target and assisted us on a better way to get to market.

  ### 5. Good communication and delivered what they said

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2024

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Simple and straightforward onboarding, clear deliverables.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

You do need to be mindful that you will be providing the key content to be used with the outreach, initially I was expecting more support on producing this but after a discussion I appreciate why this needed to be driven from ourselves.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

have a specific audience, spend time on your content and you'll get what you pay for!

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Attempting our own out-bound lead generation was challenging and involved purchasing cold data, implementing our own outreach and delivered limited success. With Cience we were able to provide our target audience and some relevant content and left them to it - lead data was then delivered to us in-line with our agreement as planned!

  ### 6. Awful experience

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark P. | CEO, Computer Software

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

We spent a tremendous amout of time on the phone with them, I guess they were not offensive during this time. That was the best result we saw

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

They completely failed to provide us useful leads for B2B sales. They might be good for B2C, but absolutely out of their element trying to help us with B2B expert network sales. We ran our contract with Cience in parallel with our inhouse efforts, and there was no comparison between the performance of our inhouse team vs. Cience's experts. In addition, Cience swapped out employees who were supporting us mid way through, and then failed to maintain quality with the new employees. After failing to provide a single dollar in revenue or useful meetings, we fired them. They offered us a one month extension, which was laughable. I had asked for 3 for no cost in an effort for them to save face/do what they said they could do, and they said no. They do a great job of assuring success, but the reality was not only a waste of thousands of dollars, but even more painful was the waste of time. We had involved many members of the team to educate Cience as to what we did, we met regularly with them, and spent time whenever required. In the end, they were negative value add. Avoid at all costs, there is nothing special about their capabilities.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using Cience for B2B leadgen.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

They deliver zero. They promise and deliver bogus leads.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

They don't deliver and send you bogus leads

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

They will steal your money.

  ### 8. Great Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2024

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The path we've traveled with CIIENCE has been one of continual growth and concrete achievements. Wyatt's strategic input and thoughtful feedback played a key role in fine-tuning our methods for managing objections. As a result, we saw a significant boost in our conversion rates and a steady improvement in our SDRs' effectiveness. It was Wyatt's unwavering commitment and transparent communication that really made a difference. He provided thorough guidance, ensuring we were informed and well-prepared at every turn of our campaign.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Nothing, it was a great experience overall.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

The CIENCE product suite has been eye-opening, particularly the GO Show, which provided us unexpected insights into our website visitors. Equally impressive was the introduction of CIENCE GO Voice AI. Utilizing this innovative tool for appointment bookings highlighted CIENCE’s dedication to cutting-edge solutions that are both innovative and customized to our needs. The range and practicality of their platform have been truly remarkable, offering us tools we didn't even realize we needed.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As Head of Marketing at SmartERC, selecting an effective lead generation partner was a pivotal decision for us. Our collaboration with CIENCE, and in particular our interactions with Wyatt, our Customer Success Manager, have been good decisions. CIENCE's approach to providing actionable insights was immediately evident. A critical example of this was during our SDR team's prospecting phase, where we uncovered surprising and negative associations linked to the 'ERC' component of our brand name. This crucial feedback, which might have easily been overlooked, was instrumental in guiding our brand strategy.

  ### 9. Over promised, under delivered.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

CIENCE's sales team was very helpful with answering questions and providing reference customers.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Once we signed up, everything about CIENCE was a disappointment. The onboarding process took close to a month to complete and I feel most of the information we provided wasn't being used effectively to enhance our campaign. There was constant turnover with the people doing our calling as well as our project manager. Their web portal to listen to calls was painfully slow, and the discussions their SDRs had with our prospects were embarrassing. It took CIENCE forever to create our company landing page, which consisted of their team stealing blurbs and graphics from our existing website rather than generating new content. They could never provide proof this landing page was being shown to prospects (banner ads, Google ads, etc. ) Trying to make revisions was like pulling teeth, and we finally ended up writing the content for the landing page ourselves. CIENCE was also supposed to perform LinkedIn messaging for us. For weeks on end, I'd notice no activity until I'd bring up my concern during the bi-weekly calls.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Do not sign any long term contracts. If they try to make you commit for 9 months after the initial 3 month term, express your disappointment and either run away (that's the best advice), or ask them for a 3-month extension of the initial period. We ended up using CIENCE for 3 additional months after the initial 3 month round, but wish we had canceled at the first opportunity.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CIENCE claimed to be able to provide a full-service, outsourced marketing and lead generation service for our business that could replace some or all of our internal SDRs.

  ### 10. Horrible experience at every corner

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Nothing. Honestly, there was not one experience that was good with them. I tried to think of one, but I'm coming up empty.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Everything is bad.

Account management is bad. Our account manager had no clue what was going on with our campaigns. Every time I asked him to give an update, he was clueless. They were extremely delayed and never were able to deliver projects on time. The BDRs were hurting our brand. The platform is super confusing and virtually impossible to navigate. The sales leader for Cience did a bait-and-switch with us on pricing after he sent the contract to us. They are just shady and horrible on all accounts. I would never recommend them to anyone. Stay away. You're better off spending your SDR dollars with other agencies.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

I've used a lot of BDR agencies in the past (honestly none of them work) but I would rate Cience at the way bottom of the list. You're better off spending your money with a different agency. Sorry to say but they were the worst agency I've worked with.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They were going to act as our outbound BDR team.

  ### 11. Did absolutely nothing for our business, and they took all of our money.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Murad B. | Founder, CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Good initial sales call where they sold me empty promises.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Total waste of money and time. They should be sued.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Suppose to do lead generation, creating lead generation email and phone sequence, no results and they stopped returning my emails and phone calls.

  ### 12. Absolutely 0 leads from a $6000 spend. Don't waste your money.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

We didn't like anything about their service.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

They didn't solve any problems at all. Hard sell upfront, and didn't deliver. Their technology is not reliable, ROI tracking is insufficient, their service as a whole does not produce results. We requested to dissolve the relationship and cut our losses since the budget was being wasted with absolutely NO leads, but they refused. I would not recommend, as there are much better options out there.

  ### 13. Waste of $50k, one lead generated in 6 months and it didn't close.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul T. | Chief Executive Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2024

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

This was a complete waste of money and time.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Overpromise and under execute, we will never sign up for another service like this w/o guarantees and quarterly out-clauses.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Look elsewhere, some of the early reviews on here are great... but the later reviews are similar to this.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great sales pitch, awful execution. We are a small company and invest $50k for 6 months of CIENCE services, unfortunatley our results were similar to others in the last couple years.

  ### 14. Snake Oil - Do Not Engage

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Zero upside in even speaking with this company.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Everything. They are incompetent, and their platforms have digressed in functionality.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Do not consider working with this company. You will lose your money.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Did not deliver on ANYTHING. Complete team turnover - multiple times. The little traffic that did come to our website was such low quality that I suspect black hat tactics. Harmful to our brand. And don't expect to ever meet someone from CIENCE in person - you can't find them. I could go on and on, but can't divulge details at this point.

  ### 15. Long time business partner whose service has more than pays for itself

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

They are responsive to feedback and to the extra research necessary

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

There is nothing I dislike about Cience.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Our sales team closes deals, our SDR team outreaches to prospects. They're more efficient and successful when they don't have to find the leads they work. Cience does that for us and we're more productive because of their work.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cience is helping us find quality leads in our ICP

  ### 16. Fall extremely short on delivery

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2024

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The initial sales interaction which was professional and structured.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Absolutely everything post sale - communications style, execution of agreed strategy, commercial approach, lack of agility, apparant lack of integrity by some team members and no thought of customer satisfaction at renewal stage

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Do not use this service as doing so may jeopordise your own career and reputation.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hired the CIENCE team as an outsourced SDR function into an emerging market. Clearly defined ICP and postioning off exisitng successful markets.

  ### 17. A Fruitless Venture with CIENCE

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

They have a framework and an SD Manager that meets with you regularly. The dashboard was also helpful.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Unfortunately, our experience with CIENCE has been largely disappointing. Despite the promises, we experienced negligible results. Over a six-month period, we saw a handful of appointments, which were unproductive as participants who entered were unclear about the meeting's purpose and had no desire to discuss an offering, many of which had no-showed. The execution of the lead generation campaign was, unfortunately, poor. Furthermore, the data platform they offered did not provide the promised filtering quality. Despite specifying certain industries, we often received leads from sectors irrelevant to our needs.

Moreover, what added to our dissatisfaction was the apparent lack of interest from CIENCE's leadership to resolve the issues. Despite the problems, their leadership did not step forward to connect and find solutions. While the concept they offer is attractive, we found the actual delivery to be underwhelming and unsatisfactory. The poor execution, coupled with the lack of problem-solving initiatives, resulted in a wasted investment.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Given our experience, I would recommend careful consideration and thorough research before opting for CIENCE. Find a cheaper solution. I've looked at over a dozen; many can offer the same results for less. Not a company that I would recommend partnering with.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CIENCE was brought on board to spearhead our outbound efforts for lead generation. We sought to capitalize on their expertise in optimizing message communication and outreach frequency. The desired benefit was to boost our client base through efficient and effective lead generation.

  ### 18. Gigantic waste of money

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig R. | President, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Nothing comes to mind - the entire package sold to us has been massively subpar.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

In 7 months I believe has generated possibly 2 appointments, only 1 knowfor sure for, and sold approximately 10 per week. There database has extensive inaccuracies on it, and was sold that inaccuracies were less than 5% max. All of this exceptionally subpar work for $80k annually. Worst investment out compamy has ever made.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As presvioualy mentioned not providing leads, and their databases are not scrubbed and clean, so not solving any problems for us.

  ### 19. WHAT YOU BOUGHT IS NOT WHAT YOU GET WITH CIENCE

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hakan T. | VP of Corporate Growth, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The best part of the engagement was before we signed the contract. They have a perfect sales team to close contracts for their company, very responsive and happily provided all the sample data requested during our evaluation period. But this was not the case for the service they provided.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Service that they provided was very poor, starting with the kick-off until the termination of the agreement. They were only able to produce 5 intro meetings, in which just one was a solid SQL during the course of the 4 month contract. During the initial introduction, they introduced a very crowded team (SDR Manager, PM, SDRS, technical writer, etc) however the talent they introduced were not at all involved in the project and throughout the contract the turnover between reps and managers was constant.

Overall, their output was very poor during the entire contract period. Rather than come to us with improvement ideas or suggestions that they had seen in the industry, they always expected us to spot the reasons for the underperforming results. Our dedicated SDR manager’s relationship management was very poor as well; she did not make us feel valuable as a customer and during our weekly meetings, she never provided us with tangible data or ways her team could improve.

Although we had provided a lot of data and samples to create a playbook including the calling scripts; their first draft of the playbook was completely off. We had to rewrite it from scratch. They do not monitor the results properly and identify the root causes of the underperforming operations.

GO Data Subscription was also a big failure in terms of quantity and quality. Their contact DB was very limited. At first we thought that the quality would be higher than average since CIENCE also does the calling. It turned out that was not the case. We had to purchase ZOOMINFO to replace CIENCE’s GO DATA Plan.

Considering the overall experience; if we knew we were going to have to conduct all the operations, provide best practices, develop the calling scripts and SDR playbook, as well as monitoring and analyzing the data they were supposed to provide, we would hire thrice the team they have provided and train them in-house instead of this disaster.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

If you are looking for an outsourced SDR company that will take the initiative to drive the expected results you are paying for, then I suggest you STAY AWAY from CIENCE. We were extremely disappointed not only in their efforts but also in their commitment to driving better results. We escalated the poor performance to their executive team multiple times, and their lack of acknowledgment and ownership of their failures was extremely telling that they did not care. Not the company we thought we were getting from a Partnership perspective and not a company we would recommend for anyone looking to build an outsourced SDR Program. STAY AWAY!

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We contracted with CIENCE for a Lead Generation project for the US Market with two dedicated SDRs, which are based in the US. The trial contract was for four months with an upfront payment.
On top of that, we subscribed for their GO Data Package as well.

  ### 20. Outsourcing Sales Leads

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2020

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

Generating qualified sales leads within OEM DOD Logistics Support.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The Cience team is very aggressive in generating sales leads and learning as much as possible to produce a positive campaign. The team members interact well, ask many questions and keep open lines of communication with us to achieve success in every campaign. The SDR's appear to take the time to understand our business and the products we're promoting fully.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

I have no dislikes after working with Cience for three years now. Some of our campaigns have been more successful than others, however, it has not been from lack of effort from the Cience team.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

As with anything, do your homework before choosing a vendor to work with. Make a list of what's important to you when interviewing a B2B company and choose based on the results from that interview. Quality of leads was at the top of my list. The last thing I wanted to do was be called into meetings where the person wasnt really interested in what I was promoting, or I was meeting with the wrong person in that specific company.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a very small sales team and don't have the time or resources to perform all the research to generate qualified sales leads. The amount of time required to populate a lead list with contact information such as lead names, email addresses, phone numbers, job titles, and company information is time-consuming and slows the salesperson's production. With Cience, our salespeople can concentrate on working with active leads and attending meetings with pre-qualified leads.

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

Update - 11/19/21

Based on my review below, CIENCE extended our agreement for 2 more months and finally listen to me about the issue with their process. Neil Gallagher did everything he could and quite frankly if he was handling from day 1, I do not think the issues that I detailed below would have occurred. The main problem with this engagement was the expectations and what was delivered. However, even after revamping the entire program, the results were still not there. Our market is very hard to crack and they just could not do it, even doing it in a way that was more in line with what we expected. However, they still oversold what the results could be, without knowing enough about our market, but appreciate they fact that they tried to fix the situation, not just stop after our agreement ended.

We hired Cience to handle outbound SDR activities for our established 50-year-old company. Our sales rep Michael was great, everything he said Cience could deliver was what we were looking for - and while he didn't promise and our contract does not specifically state it, he estimated that they would deliver 10-15 scheduled "demos/appointment" with leads that we provide them as well as ones they would source, what we got in almost 4 months was 2. That's right, after 4 months of solicitation, over 3,500 calls, they only set up 2 scheduled meetings for us, a far cry from the 10-15 per month we were expecting.

Why did this happen? Well, the folks at Cience could not tell me. All they could do was point to was their contract and say they delivered the "activities" that are detailed in it and therefore they did what we paid for. And here is the real issue, in Cience's contract there is NO commitment that any results will be delivered. The contract is 100% based on their activities not based on the results of their activities. However, as I pointed out to Ben and Curtis at Cience, while their contract is based on activities, a company like mine does not spend $24k for activities with no results, we paid for those activities producing results - 10-15 scheduled appointments per month, which didn't happen.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

I can not really point out anything about this engagement that I was happy with. I run a professional sales organization and their SDRs would never make it on my team.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Everything

1. They pushed us hard to close the deal using the reason they needed the deal signed now was due to getting us into their calendar to start the pilot. Then when we signed, our start date was pushed back 3 weeks as they said they had a new hire that needed to be trained. But I didn't hire them to get their brand new SDR.....

2. During our 4-month pilot, (it was 3 but they added a free month given the lack of results) we had 3 different SDR's work on our account. I listen to more than 50 calls of these 3 SDR's and all of them sounded like they were brand new to sales - they didn't sound like the professional, tenured, career sales professionals that Cience's rep Michale Rouse sold us. They would say the name of our company incorrectly often, lots of stuttering and stammering, not what you would expect from a professional SDR. As a matter of fact, when I asked Cience what was the background of the reps working my account, how long had they been employed by Cience, how long have they worked as an SDR, they could not tell me. You would think that given they are calling leads as a fictitious employee "Alex Johnson" of AGA, representing our brand and image that I would have the right to know who the individual was working for us, they would not provide me this information.

3. Their phone system is horrible - Cience uses a "call drop" dialer that dials a person before the rep is on the line - so this is what every call sounds like......Hello this is John Smith,......Hello,......Hello......Loud Beep, (SDR is now on the line) Hello I am looking to speak to John Smith......but wait, didn't John Smith just answer the phone saying their name? Yes, but the SDR didn't hear it because of their ancient call drop system. This is how EVERY CALL starts off - it sounds horrible!!!

4. We provided them a do not call list and they still called many companies on that list - including a client of ours - who we then told them not to call and 3 days later the SDR called them again.

5. My company has an established sales process and a well-designed playbook that works very well for us - my team is very successful and we hired Cience because I needed to put more demos in my rep's hands. My reps are cradle to grave reps, they cold call, do discovery, scheduled demos, present demos, close sales and manage customers. We handed Cience our playbook that detailed all of our messaging, scripts, pitches, our entire sales process and how to get a demo scheduled in our business. We didn't need them to re-create the wheel. We provide them numerous recordings of our reps on successful cold calls that lead to demos and provided them a document that they could run with. However, for the first 60 days, they basically ignored everything we gave them and tried to take our square peg and fit it in their round hole - it didn't work.

6. But here is the big mistake they made and it makes no sense to me. In our ICP I gave them the 7 titles that we target for our services and said these were the only ones to go after. Well, they didn't listen and decided to target multiple titles that have nothing to do with our services and in 4 months, based on their own reporting, more than 50% of the leads they targeted were "not the right person". Think about that, over 4 months, more than 1/2 of their activities were WASTED because they were soliciting titles that have no bearing on purchasing our solution - crazy. So while Cience says they fulfilled their contract, I do not think they did given that 50% of their activity was totally wasted.

7. To add insult to injury, their Head of Account Management Curits told me that we hired Cience to “teach us something new about our business” and that they “are not an extension of our sales team”. Well, we didn’t engage with Cience to teach us anything, we have been doing this successfully for 50 years. We hired Cience, for their skilled, tenured, seasoned, professional SDR’s to get us scheduled appointments, and that did not happen.

While all of the people at Cience are nice and easy to work with, I wanted to hire our sales rep, Michael, because I thought he was really good. However, that was all smoke and mirrors as they just didn't deliver on what they pitched us they could do and as a professional salesperson, I could never pitch something that I could not deliver.

If you run a seasoned sales organization and you are looking for an SDR solution, I would look elsewhere.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

As long as you are on top of them and make sure they are doing it the way it should be done - also, depending on your industry and product/service you sell, will also make a difference

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't solve any problems because they were not able to get us the scheduled demo/appointments that we expected.

  ### 22. Incredible results with Cience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brett H. | Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The quality of their data, outreach, and process is incredible. We are talking to the right people and their research data is helping us map our customer universe.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Likely because of their success and therefore large client portfolio, the customer service can sometimes be spotty (e.g. timely response to questions.) I still would recommend them, but it is something to be aware of

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Be very specific when defining the customer profile you want to target.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cience is reliably getting the right people on the phone so that we have an opportunity to sell and partner with our Ideal Customer Profile. Their quality leads are generating net new business.

  ### 23. Great outbound marketing platform with through backend support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Weston B. | M, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Reliable, quick responses, easy to work with team.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

After the initial success of a project sometimes things can go to autopilot.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Outbound marketing, analytics to see what's working or needs improvement and a back-end team to help connect the technical and back end pieces together.

  ### 24. Trust in the process - Cience may be expensive but they work hard to improve constantly

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The sales playbook Cience created was successful. They've had consistently impressive cold emailing open rates, and their targeted LinkedIn advertising has worked well.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Unfortunately, the price of Cience is not sustainable for our small business in the long term. At first there were a few communication hiccups and the program took a while to gain steam - but the core member of our team lasted through lots of turn over around her while keeping our account on track. Once we were assigned the right team members at Cience, things were easy from there on out.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

For a B2B launch, Cience is great at building lofty leads lists, and an engaging playbook. You need to trust in the process, success and ROI will not happen right away. Think of Cience as a new hire that needs time to grow and learn about the company. There will be work on your end needed to make the partnership successful. Overall, if we had a different product or a larger budget - I believe this partnership could continue.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cience was brought on to help us build a B2B Sales Outreach Department and program for our traditionally B2C product.

  ### 25. Unbelievable Lead Generation services

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lara M. | Marketing Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

They are highly efficient in working with the information we shared with them about our product to adapt it to their pitch and the people they’re targeting. They are very well structured with their strategies, KPIs and overall business plan.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

The reports they send sometimes have had some inaccuracies and the format is PDF which could not be ideal for real-time updates. The only problem I could think of is that it took a little bit of time to finally have a steady pace with the appointments they booked.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

I would 100% likely recommend CIENCE to anyone who is seeking an outbound lead generation company to boost their sales.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The prospects they provide are always given in the required criteria that we provided to them, they were always careful to bring to the table exactly the right decision makers or those that directed us to them, and we are thankful for that. We found a lovely team partnership and we are more than willing to share our testimonial with anyone else who needs to hear it.

  ### 26. RUN AWAY!!! The worst vendor experience of my career.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Nothing. This is worst vendor experience I have ever had in my career. Please see the dislike section for details. But if you're short on time, just trust me and do not hire Cience.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

When I vetted Cience, I came across many negative reviews, but ignored them because overall their reviews were positive. This was a HUGE mistake and a HUGE regret. They were a complete mess from day 1. They generate lead lists of companied who were not remotely in our target customer group (we sell software for the building industry and they put together a list of kitchen and mattress stores). To make matters worse, they started an email campaign to this incorrect list and we couldn't get them to stop. They were totally unresponsive, totally clear on next steps, and caused my team and I to follow up with them constantly without ever getting a clear response or clear deliverables. Then, when we requested a refund with ample evidence of how they had entirely failed to deliver on the contract signed, they ignored us. This was the biggest waste of time and money EVER.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

RUN AWAY. Do not use this company. They are complete mess, completely disorganized, disrespectful, unresponsive, unorganized, and ultimately, very very very bad at the one thing they are supposed to do - generate leads. I cannot say clearly enough how absolutely terrible our experience was. I truly do not understand how these people are in business.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cience was supposed to help us run a lead gen campaign for the product we're launching. They delivered ZERO value and ultimately ended up costing us significant waste in terms of time and resources. It was a HUGE mistake.

  ### 27. Smooth sailing after a few initial hiccups

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Cience has helped us find a lot of relevant contacts at our target accounts. They have also landed us an average of 1-2 meetings per week and have done a good job writing sales playbooks.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

They are sometimes disorganized, most account managers are assigned to too many accounts which initially caused errors. There is also a high turnover rate and lots of staffing changes - specifically with callers.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We hired Cience to fill our outbound prospecting/lead gen needs. They manage calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach to hundreds of prospective leads at our target accounts.

  ### 28. Great experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2023

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

They have a flexible and dedicated team. Very pleased with the service provided for the past 4 months.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Everything was great. Nothing to dislike.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cience helped me source leads which converted into the backbone of our expansion in the US.

  ### 29. Quality Lead Generation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Initially, it took a bit of time to target the "correct" customer for us. We offer a very specialized service, so there was a significant amount of time that my team needed to work with CIENCE to get the message and target audience right. As a result, many "leads" were initially provided to us that were not the right fit and would not be candidates for our services. However, over time that was adjusted in an iterative manner and now the team is producing high-quality leads at a rate of around 1 a week. Each week they also provide the metrics on the outreach and valuable KPIs to demonstrate their efforts.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

CIENCE was not previously familiar with our industry and so the learning curve took a bit longer than I would have liked, Also there was some pressure initially to leverage a calendar access service that is not that good of a fit for our business.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

The business results are a direct reflection of the time you take to work with the team at CIENCE to ensure the messaging is correct and the target audience is correctly identified. So spend a lot of time on this part and I am confident you will receive a much higher quality product from the team at CIENCE.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Historically my organization used an internal team for lead generation services and I felt that team didn't have the same bandwidth as an external dedicated team could provide. I had my own experience with third-party lead generation teams and did a bit of market research. CIENCE was very diligent with their outreach to me as a potential client of their services and I was very impressed with that, knowing I would want the same effort applied to gaining new clients that CIENCE was demonstrating in trying to win my business.

  ### 30. Dramatically Oversold. Look elsewhere for insights.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2022

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

I contracted with CIENCE for two lead generation projects at a cost of roughly $50k and worked with them for 6 months.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

CIENCE's onboarding process is top-notch. They run a well-oiled onboarding machine. If you don't have an internal marketing department, they provide adequate (though not stellar) campaign landing page and LinkedIn ad creative capabilities.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

We invested over $100k into our experiment with CIENCE. Every campaign was a failure, and they did not approach the targets they set for these campaigns. Their BDR/outbound sales rep quality was highly variable and overall quite poor, with cringe-inducing call recordings telling the whole story. We had to coach them time and time again to speak to a script, but never made progress. The BDRs would just repeat over and over "Hi I'm calling from company X hoping to set up a meeting with you." Zero qualification in the pre-call research phase and then none on the phone, and so the sales meetings that were set turned out to be poorly qualified. No surprise.

CIENCE promised insights to improve campaigns on the fly, but never delivered. CIENCE promised a live reporting portal over and over, but never delivered anything other than poor weekly pdf reports. Finally, it became clear that both our campaign manager and account manager were in deeply over their heads. They did their best, but as they were dealing with a lot of churn within their own company they just weren't up to the task of providing any insight or recommendations on how to improve campaign results over time. As the client I found myself running our weekly checkpoint meetings in the face of complete silence on the other end of the phone. It was an extremely frustrating experience that we put with for far too long.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

I lobbied to hire them and was embarrassed by their failure to meet any of the objectives they set.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We engaged CIENCE for lead generation to add to our hunting capabilities. They carried out several different lead generation campaigns simultaneously covering a variety of different solutions, spanning roughly 8 months.

  ### 31. False expectations- did not deliver. Ukranian team, no US market knowledge. No management oversight

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2020

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

Project involved lead generation for my VC funded Saas company. Target market is very stright forward, and leads are relatively easy to come by.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Really nothing, they made no effort to make this relationship work for us.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

1. Oversold their ability to deliver: they promised 20-30 MQL per month, I got one. 2. Ukraine based team that had not US market knowledge- did not understand the basic differences between marketing to SMB and enterprise, and had no interest in learning 3. Sloppy overall: spelling errors in communications, ignoring feedback. 4. No interest from management to make this work- I only had the Ukraine manager contact. Despite trying to reach out to the US manager, that person never followed up directly or tried to make the relationship right.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have solved no problems, created a huge amount of work for my team to manage them and constantly review their work whcih was sub standard. Overall negative ROI

  ### 32. Poor results for a US outbound campaign

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Perhaps the onboarding process helped us define our offering slightly better due to having an external team to which we need to explain it in detail.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

We (Euformatics) hired CIENCE to deliver qualified leads in the area of clinical labs and hospitals in the US for genomic data analysis software. Everything seemed fine in the beginning when ramping up their knowledge about our offering even though the onboarding took longer than we were told during the sales process. Once the actual outreach started we saw very few results, only a few meetings over 4 months and costs of more than $20k. It was quite frustrating to listen to their explanations every 2 weeks during our calls about how we are just where we should be in terms of metrics (open rate of emails, connection rate on calls etc.) even though the actual deliverables (qualified meetings) were not produced. During the sales process, their representative talked about getting 10-12 qualified meetings per month. The reality was 0,5 per month. So the gap between promises and reality was just too high.

We decided to take this leap of faith based on some positive reviews I found online but it turned out to be a total waste of money so I figured it would be fair to warn others that there is a very real possibility of failure as well. On a positive note, the people on the project team were nice.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

If you are targeting the healthcare sector and looking to outsource your lead generation and meeting booking I would recommend not to do that with CIENCE based on my experience.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CIENCE claims to solve the top-of-the-funnel lead generation through outsourcing sales activities to their SDR team. In our case there were close to zero benefits as they did not perform according to expectations.

  ### 33. COMPLETE Waste of Money

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The only redeeming thing about this service was that they gave us an extra two months for free after our original team had all left the company. They only did this so they wouldn't have to give us any sort of refund, however. The free two months brought no more success than the prior ones.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Everything. From the very beginning, we knew we had made a massive mistake. Our "dedicated team" regularly missed meetings, failed to meet deadlines, refused to deliver on any promises, never made changes to improve the campaign, didn't respond promptly to emails, and, in the end, stopped working at the company. The biweekly meetings with them were straight up painful. The Cience team would regularly simply not respond to certain questions or stumble through asinine excuses for why basic things weren't being completed. In the end, we were assigned a new team to "find some success." Given that you pay for a 7-week onboarding period with each new campaign, the two months we got with the new team was hardly a good faith effort of them finding any success. Instead, it was more of the same - cringe-inducing meetings that just wasted more of our time.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Just don't even think about it. Any good reviews you find are likely fake and the number of completely dissatisfied customers for this service is astoundingly high.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We hired Cience to handle our direct cold outreach to reach potential customers. In absolutely no way did they provide the service that was promised and we received zero ROI on the substantial investment required for their service.

  ### 34. Avoid at all costs

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2022

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

We were in need of a 3rd party business development partner to help with top-of-the-funnel lead generation and appointment setting

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

They set 5 meetings for us in 3 months, which was positive

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

- Turnover- they are a mess as an organization right now. Of the 5 people on our kickoff call that was our initial team on 2/22/22, all of them had left the organization by 5/16/22. These departures were rarely shared with us and created a lack of organization and diffusion of responsibility amongst our team there. Not to mention, the one person who took any ownership and accountability (our customer account manager) was let go as part of a company-wide layoff

- Delay of start. Their 3-month contract clearly states that the 3-month timeline begins when they start outreach on behalf of the client. They also factor in a 10-20 day onboarding period. Our onboarding time was more than 30 days despite us giving them a 15 page playbook with everything they needed to get started. Our contract start date was 2/22 and they didn't even start outreach til 4/6. Our contract then ended 5/22, so we were short-changed on our outreach

- No partnership or collaboration- despite our continuous offers to provide best practices and coaching, the SDRs continued to use the same/ineffective pitches that showed zero knowledge or understanding of what we do as an organization. They were generic and caused prospects to say things like, "I don't understand what you do" and the SDR would continue pushing the meeting without providing any value. Their SDR even went as far as to push an interested prospect who was clearly running to a meeting and said, "Well, I get incentivized for booking meetings on the phone." Every piece of outreach they did was detrimental to our brand and a poor representation of what we do. Our best practices and coaching were met with their SDR team lead saying every biweekly call, "I'll talk with the SDR...." and it never happened.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Steer clear

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They were supposed to be a third party partner for our business development and they came up short.

  ### 35. Professional and Responsive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandra B. | Marketing Manager , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2022

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

We used Cience to generate leads for our sales team.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

They were professional and responsive. We wanted to try something different from their usual model and they were open to working with us. When they sent us their initial playbook to review at the start of the project it was clear that they had listened to us properly and understood our needs. When we didn't get the desired results they troubleshot with us and adapted the strategy. The quality of their written emails and phone calls was very high.

I would also add that much of the Cience team is based in Ukraine including our project manager. When the war broke out we were prepared to be compassionate and understanding about the impact that may have on their work on our account. However, in reality, there was very little to no interruption. The account manager continued to operate and other staff outside of Ukraine filled in the gaps. Given the circumstances, I consider this above and beyond.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

The ramp-up to effective results was much slower than we were hoping for. Although all their measures and indicators were positive (click rates, open rates etc.) they did not translate into sales for quite a long time in the process.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to find ways to generate more leads. The ramp-up was slower than we had hoped (for various reasons, some of which were down to us) but their research was excellent and they were able to generate leads that we would not have reached ourselves.

  ### 36. Flexible and feedback-attentive, productive suggestions and producing great leads for PHASTAR

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The SDM and PM are great. They listen to feedback and ensure that it is incorporated into the messaging. Importantly, they make great suggestions to ensure quality

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

At this point, nothing much. I hope to not experience any thing that I dislike

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Give these guys a shot. They have a good plan for lead generation, pleasing reports and UI and they'll work with you to fine-tune the messaging, which all will produce great leads!

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lead generation for our company

  ### 37. Panacea3 / CIENCE Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared H. | Director of Digital Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2022

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

They have been tasked with outbound lead generation, setting us up appointments, and giving us the opportunity to land sales by eliminating the prospecting work so we can perform other duties. They are essentially our "P3 Sales Team", something we never initially had.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

They are thorough and clear in their communication. Prompt answers to questions when asked. They handle the difficult task of finding prospects for our company to work with.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Obviously, it's a bit pricey haha, but it's really about finding the value in the service. If sales and leads are generated and far exceed the initial upfront price, it becomes a bargain.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Make sure your leads and business model can cover their services. They are looking for a partnership.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding a better way to have outbound sales generation. Realized we needed experts in an area our own company was lacking. This also cuts down on the overhead of work so we can focus on other tasks.

  ### 38. Disaster

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian R. L. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2022

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

I was a big believer in this program until I became a customer. Unfortunately, the company cannot seem to get much of anything right, and after 5 months, I’ve seen only a couple appointments.

On the positive side, the company has good intentions, and what appears at first glance a solid formula. The execution, however, resulted in one mistake after another which taken together, threatened to harm our brand. The first problem was with the simple sourcing of contacts. I made clear that we wanted to target mid-size general “hospitals” but for the first 4 weeks of lists coming across for review there were so few qualified leads, they could not source the 35 contacts per day they promised to outreach. Anyone with the ability to read could clearly see the lists were NOT hospitals, so it was a mystery why I was being asked to evaluate them. Finally, I suggested the use of NAICS codes to identify hospitals, which was something their CMO suggested they would typically do, however, at the lower levels of the company it seemed they did not know what an NAICS code was. Other execution efforts were problematic: they created a signature line for my assigned rep but the phone number on it was wrong. Then they fixed it, but the voicemail did not work. Then they launched a landing page that, within a short while, no longer functioned properly because links were broken (as far as I know, they don’t follow up with people hitting that page either). The concept of quality control for their activities seems nonexistent.

Then there is the revolving door. When I complained that my account manager was not answering my simple questions, they replaced him with a new employee. By this time, it was clear the program was failing, and any other company would probably assign a veteran, senior manager to ensure the failure was resolved quickly. The night before our outreach campaign was set to begin, I was told that my project manager was going on vacation – worst possible timing. I now find the excuse hard to believe because that person never returned from vacation and is no longer with the company. In fact, there has been a constant shuffling of people assigned to or supervising my account. Just the other day, the second project manager assigned to my account announced she was leaving the company. In response to my frustration my AM wanted to set me up with a manager that is senior to her in the company to repeat what I’ve been saying all along. Then she left the company, and a week later, the person responsible for sourcing contacts left the company too. They replaced my AM with another new hire.

I’ve come to distrust much of what this company tells me because even the data coming across from their activities makes no sense to me. By the time of the 6th week of outbound calls, the company was over 500 contacts short of the promised 35 contacts per day. When I showed this to them on a spreadsheet (and it's a problem that I even had to), they miraculously contacted 690 in 2 weeks, but performance did not change. Do the math and you’d be as suspicious as I am that the activity really happened, but bottom line is I’ve not seen results.

Throughout this experience I’ve made my concerns known, and I’ve never been challenged on my expectations of one demo per week of our product. This should not be hard to achieve, we are not a start-up, we are a 22-year-old company with a product already proven to be commercially successful. We have boatloads of collateral, references, videos, sales tools, etc etc to be leveraged in this project. When I spoke to the CMO on a few occasions, he validated my frustrations and extended our contract, but nothing changes.

I notice now a number of zero star reviews on this company that I did not notice when doing my initial due diligence. I noticed the CMO responded to a few to defend the company’s practices. Note that I sent this review to the company one full month before the end of the contract to warn this review was coming. There was no response from any senior staff. The program just continued to fall apart. During the last month of service, they assigned yet another AM who was probably the best of the bunch, but by this time all confidence was lost and I canceled the contract.

This is not rocket science. But it’s not science, either. It's a disaster.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

There was nothing about this experience that worked for us. The "pitch" sounded great but totally cratered on execution. It got to the point I did not believe anything I was told.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

People constantly leaving the company - no continuity because a revolving door, non-existent quality control, lack of competence in following through on agreements. Basic misunderstanding of how to best leverage our 22 year solid reputation and marketing assets.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Not worth the time and risk to your brand. Better to hire a dedicated BDR of your own.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This program CREATED problems. The miscues threatened our brand at nearly every turn. Outreach to LinkedIn prospects suggested "because you are in healthcare" to people that were not in healthcare. Embarrassing . The voicemail on signature page did not work so people could not reach our BDR if they wanted to. The landing page looked great, but eventually stopped functioning and I was the only one to notice. I could go on and on.

  ### 39. Waste of $$

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The onboarding process was relatively smooth but that was about it

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

They did not deliver a single qualified meeting over 3 months of outreach to our addressable market. They seemed to have very little control over their own internal process and they were completely uninformed about our value proposition.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Do not engage with this organization. They have no accountability to deliver any results and that seems intentional given their complete lack of outcomes. They seem disconnected internally and overall it will be a waste of your time and money

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They claim to help with lead generation and outsourced SDR support but they did not deliver on their stated value proposition

  ### 40. Can not recommend

Lead generation services

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

There was nothing in our engagement that was a productive use of time.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Account owners were not on top of the account. Information was inaccurate, disorganized and generally, we found interactions to be a waste of time. Agendas were not created or shared in advance of calls. Basic questions could not be answered during calls. Countless requests for timelines were ignored. Outbound calls were disastrous and put our brand's image at stake. After three months we only received a single meeting but it was clear that the meeting was set because the prospect wanted to get off the phone. The prospect never showed up and provided negative feedback about the interaction. The quality of the leads lists was poor. After doing spot-checking on two of the lists that were shared 25% of the list was either no longer at the company or the contact information wasn't accurate. Working with Cience was a costly mistake and frankly added no benefit. There were no actionable insights, zero transparency on timelines, and lethargic and disorganized communication.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Provide yourself with off-ramps to the contract if goals are not met. Ensure that an agenda is sent at least a day before each meeting (otherwise your time will likely be wasted). Review calls and communications that are being sent. We observed that the quality of our communications was not in line with the expectation is for our brand.

Outbound lead generation

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Nothing really, we found the product and service to be sub-par and didn't generate any value out of the service while at same time investing lots of time and effort.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

The leads and activities promised where never met, the results were sub-par, we only got one appointment out of 2,000+ leads contacted. Service was not good either.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

We have been using them for almost four months - honestly I am shocked on how bad everything went, we even had to email the CEO (who never responded) and probably one of the worst experience I had in the recent years.

The leads and activities promised where never met, the results were sub-par, we only got one appointment out of 2,000+ leads contacted.

The bi-weekly meetings are useless, as our CSM didn't attend most of them and the other person had no clue and always said it was doing great while at the same time no data was to be shown or insights to act on changes and try to generate better results.

They promised us a dashboard to access results but we never got access to it as it was always "in maintenance" which seems crazy for such as big company with that many resources (we used Upcall.com in the past and had real-time analytics).

We only got a PDF report which sometimes wasn't even working, we had to trust what they told us but no results were delivered (leads generated, meetings booked, etc..), they told us we had amazing results (for example visitors on our landing page) but this never generated a single lead we could follow-up with, I was surprised what would so many people even do on a page without converting as a lead.

The call quality is HORRIBLE (they send you recordings, please listen to them).

Honestly when paying tens of thousands of dollars on a pilot (above $20k), you would expect to have better follow-up and guidance and at least get a little bit of results, in this case zero, we feel like the money was simply wasted, almost scammed to be honest.

Would not recommend it to anyone, I am surprised they have so many employees/clients as I am sure there are better alternatives.

  ### 42. CIENCE is a great partner for outbound SDR/BDR work and marketing research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2022

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

We had a big headcount number to fill and were having trouble hiring. We hired CIENCE to help with outbound SDR work

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

CIENCE came in and developed a marketing plan, an outreach plan, and had a team of SDRs ready to learn our product and start reaching out to prospects. They're always vary organized and have a fantastic account team to help out along the way (big shout out to Viktoriia Filenko for providing great support and advice through the process)

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

CIENCE has a great business model, I think they are a really great option for companies with straightforward SaaS products. Our product is a bit more complex with hardware and software...we had some growing pains at the beginning

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Go with Cience, they do great research and have a team of seasoned SDRs to outbound for you

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They gave us great ideas for marketing research and outbound campaigns. They also have a really well documented playbook that customers can keep even after they don't work with CIENCE anymore

  ### 43. Great Leadgen Team to Work with!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Neatly organized, the team structure is well built.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

It would be great if there were more insights on the types of campaigns being shared.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BPO of high work volume.

  ### 44. Our experience with Cience was disappointing.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

They have a great system for capturing messaging and creating playbooks.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Cience did not deliver. In fact, they hurt our brand reputation.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

If you sell something that is simple and under $1,000, like a yearly subscription, perhaps they can get meetings for you???? But they don't seem to know how to do B2B marketing and get meetings despite their promise.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We signed Cience to book meetings for us.

  ### 45. Try them for 3 months- got 0 SQLs and 0 ROI- $25,000 went to garbage

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

Try them for 3 months- got 0 SQLs and 0 ROI- $25,000 went to garbage
On the same time I tried 2 other SDRs companies that brought really good results

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Nothing I liked about them we didn't saw any ROI

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

A lot of promises when they sold me their service- but brought 0 results- waste of time
I expected they will offer a refund of some of the money we paid- but they didn't agree.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We tried to bring some SQLs but got none

  ### 46. ZERO ROI

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Nothing. They were unable to execute. They made numerous mistakes. They failed to deliver. Not only was it a total waste of money, but my internal team spent a significant amount of time and effort trying to enable them.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

See above. There was really nothing to like about their service. CIENCE was expensive and ROI was negative. You're better off hiring a couple outbound callers for the cost.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Look elsewhere.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There were no benefits. They overpromised and delivered nothing. After expressing our dissatisfaction in receiving one appointment in 3 months, they offered to allow us to go on monthly plan. We terminated the agreement.

  ### 47. Paid price and service did not follow through

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

We really wanted to like using this service but unfortunately it did not perform well and there is nothing we like best about it.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

CIENCE states they help "grow your business with a sophisticated approach to b2b lead generation" However, after paying for this service to give it a try, we did not generate any leads and would not refund anything back. Our own in-house SDR team of 2, has done more than CIENCE has claimed.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Don't waste your money.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CIENCE is supposed to help with getting leads for our product, but did not benefit us.

  ### 48. Worst vendor ever

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

Setup sale demos for our B2B services

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Nothing. There is nothing positive about their company. Their sales team will over promise -- I guess that is the only good thing they have, a good sales team. Everything else adds negative value.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

They will charge you $18,000 and deliver NEGATIVE value. That’s right, negative. How can it be negative? Because they will ask you to invest about 30 hours of your time in pointless meetings, scenario planning meetings, weekly updates that are basically a regurgitation of numbers. Complete and utter garbage.

Their sales person (initials HS) promised the heavens. Their project manager (initial SG) promised tons of “strategic analysis” — before you sign a contract and send them money they will tell you anything you need to hear. After you send the initial set of funds — complete opposite.

Funny scenario, for our “kickoff” meeting our project manager (SG) came to a zoom meeting with a t-shirt, and not a nice t-shirt, more like the type of t-shirt that is all used up (kinda like a pajama) shirt. His insights were completely useless. In his last email to us he send us a copy-pasted email that assumed they at least schedule a demo for us. I had to correct him that he in fact scheduled ZERO demos.

They claim to email 30-40 people a day and start them on a “magical” battle-tested funnel. But after THREE MONTHS they delivered ZERO demos. It takes me five hours to close a new client, it took them about 100 days and 30 hours of my time to deliver zero demos, not even a client, but a demo. Zero demos… let that sink in for a second.

Someone should make a parody of this company and use it as the perfect playbook to run a scam.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

Do not use CIENCE

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We realized zero benefits because they didn't setup a demo calls for us to even ask our potential clients. The only benefit I gained is to never work with this vendor.

  ### 49. Ask for Kseniia

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2022

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

We hired Cience as part of our BDR pilot. We congruently are working with Cience and hiring internal BDRs for comparison purposes and accelerated learning.

If you're going to work with Cience, make sure Kseniia is your assigned CSM. She is remarkable. She works through any challenges with a smile on her face and always delivers. Kseniia is full of integrity, ambition, and wisdom. She knows how to get the job done and will not rest until she has met your standards for success.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Kseniia is by far the most critical person in our success. While the overall relationship has been rocky, Kseniia is reliable for answers, improvements, and quick pivots as needed.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Overall quality of the BDRs has been subpar so far (~5 months in the contract). We're nearing our first win, but we expected much better results given the experience that Cience brings.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you are going to work with Cience, make sure to maintain a very firm conversation on expectations. They will deliver if you are steadfast on expectations. However, if you are looking for a "set it and forget it" solution, keep looking. This requires hands-on, active management.

  ### 50. Good experience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The consulting process is really good we got to learn a lot from them and from our own company.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Price, for companies outside the US CIENCE might be expensive.
