Best VoIP providers for business calls and team communication

I’m currently comparing VoIP platforms and looking for honest feedback from people who’ve used these tools in their daily work. G2 lists several solid options, and I’ve started reading about them, but firsthand experience always helps clarify what to expect after rollout. Here are five that currently stand out on G2:

Zoom Workplace

Built on the familiar Zoom infrastructure, this service extends into phone systems and team communication—good for teams already using Zoom for meetings.

Nextiva

A cloud-based phone system offering calling, texting, and video in one app. Often recommended for businesses that want an all-in-one communications suite.

Webex Calling

Part of Cisco’s Webex platform, it seems tailored for teams with more complex calling needs or those already in the Cisco ecosystem.

OpenPhone

Designed for startups and smaller teams. Offers business numbers, shared inboxes, and texting with a simple interface and flexible pricing.

RingEX

A rebrand of RingCentral’s core platform, it combines phone, messaging, and video under one system. Looks like a strong option for distributed teams.

If you’ve relied on one of these recently or decided to move away from a platform, I’d be curious to hear how things went.

I would go with Zoom Workplace, especially if your team/company already uses Zoom for everyday meetings and work. It seamlessly integrates with other Zoom products without a steep learning curve.
