CIENCE helps us the lead generation in ISPs market. Their research team is professional and detailed-working with highly efficient effort. And their project managers often suggest some innovative insights which can help improve the performance. They usually respond fast and we always work closely together as a team.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Their research team is professional and detailed-working with highly efficient effort.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Project managers can work more closely with writer so that writer can understand more about our solution and come up with more practical/direct ideas.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ISPs/Telcos are niche markets and not easy to do outreach. Their project managers often suggest some innovative insights which can help improve the performance.

Due to the limited capacity of our internal xDR organization, the objective of the pilot is to work with CIENCE, leveraging their outbound SDR services targeting cold contacts in the Enterprise and Corp segments, with a focus on CIAM and Security personas with the goal of activating 4%+ of the contacts targeted in the pilot.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

We feel so lucky to have such a strong strategic partnership with Cience! We are impressed with the dedication and cooperation of their team and have confidence that they will steer us in the right direction for the success of our cold activation pilot program.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Nothing! We are working together on our pilot program, and we are appreciative of their flexibility.

We are leveraging their outbound SDR services targeting cold contacts with the goal of activating 4%+ of the contacts targeted in the pilot.

CIENCE is tasked with finding leads in the healthcare space. They created a campaign whereby they email potential leads in hospital marketing departments and follow up with phone calls to procure demo appointments for our sales team.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The fact that we can count on CIENCE to research quality leads, go after them (emails and calls) and schedule a good number of appointments for us to perform our demo for the potential client.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

There was a learning curve for them to understand our industry and our target leads. But they caught on quickly. It's to be expected since our service is unique and we reach a niche market.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

We've checked out other similar companies but rolled the dice with CIENCE and are delighted with the positive results. Worth the investment for sure.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The procurement of leads, email and call out campaigns, and making appointments. These frees up our business development expert to focus on closing the deal.

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

CIENCE assisted with campaign design, prospecting, and outreach spanning several months. The campaign kickoff included a collaborative effort to create a sales playbook including email messaging, LinkedIn messaging, and call scripts as well as creating an ideal customer profile for qualifying prospects. This project included weekly updates and revisions as necessary. Our target market was especially difficult to schedule qualified leads for. This required the CIENCE team to iterate until we found the right outreach sequence, messaging and content that worked. This took longer than the intial 3 months but it eventually to where we are now at 10+ scheduled meetings per month which exceeds our campaign goal.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

CIENCE made things right when things were not going as planned. They were quick to respond and course-correct as needed which eventually led to the success of the campaign. 

From a strategic standpoint, CIENCE has a very robust process and completely surrounds the opportunity. Targetted ads, drip email/linkedin, multiple contacts per prospect and phone calls/voicemails are all tactics that are leveraged. The CIENCE team has a specialist in each area that contributes to the overall success and then a project manager and account manager who were both top notch.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Because there is so much to the campaign, there is a level of commitment required. Expect to spend some time collaborating on the sales playbook, revising messaging, etc. This is to be expected.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our target market is known to be difficult to sell to. CIENCE helped craft the right outreach campaign to get qualified leads in this notoriously difficult market. The results are meetings with qualified leads that we would not have otherwise had.

The Cience team has been an incredible addition to our company.  When we first started working with Cience, it was because we were just getting started with major outbound sales efforts.  We certainly didn't have the expertise, scale, or know how to hire full-time callers, emailers, marketing copy editors, and managers to run everything.  But with Cience we got the whole package and were up in running in a matter of weeks.  And as we have grown, they have grown with us, helping us along every step of the way.  I couldn't recommend them strongly enough.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Cience has an experience expert for every outbound sales generation niche that we needed.  From research, to copy drafting, to calling, it was all top notch.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

In our time working with Cience, they did have a bit of staff turnover.  Thankfully, they managed it in a way that was fairly seamless to us the client.  It would be nice to have the exact same team over time but at least they made the proecss fairly easy.

**Describe the project or task CIENCE helped with:**

We hired Cience to help with outbound sales efforts with the goal to book enterprise-level meetings with our target audience. Doing it ourselves was resulting in 1-2 meetings a month, which was abysmal, to say the least. From the get-go, their team was on the ball. They not only started to booking 2-3 meetings a week, but they also built out our entire outbound sales playbook, which includes customized messaging for email, LinkedIn, and call scripts along with objection handling. We knew all the information in our heads but they actually put it to use with a detailed plan. Evolving this plan once they got more data points allowed us to learn more about our business and flush out more internal processes to handle an influx of discovery calls.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Sharing the feedback from the neutral and negative responses and understanding outbound data points (ie; understanding we need to send X outbound messages to book a meeting, and have X meetings to close a deal). I also like how they build a list of 750 new prospects a week for us to review based on the criteria we set. This was one of our largest headaches, list building.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

As of right now, we don't have any negative feedback!

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem was delivering a quality message to a high quanity of prospects. Also, finding enough prospects each week while still handling our inbound leads and existing leads in the pipeline. Hiring a full-time SDR didn't work for us as they were only booking 1-2 meetings a week. Choosing Cience made sense for us based on the reviews of other companies we know to use them and we were able to increase our booked meetings exponentially.

We're using CIENCE for an outbound SDR/appointment setting program. They do outbound calls and emails. They do not do any social media outreach. That was supposed to be part of the scope but they just nixed it without even giving us a good reason. Said they would make up for it with phone/email.  That's really ridiculous b/c everyone knows you can't just replace a channel by increasing volume in another channel.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

I think they write pretty good outbound sales emails and the people are very nice.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Worst project management I've ever seen. There were multiple examples of them not responding to our requests and violating SLAs on response time. They caused a 3-week delay in our project because of poor project management and unresponsiveness. They promised our CRM would be integrated with their tool and then blatantly never did it. I've never been so disappointed in a partnership before. The Sales person completely oversold their offering just to close a deal, it's terrible that some companies do business like this.

Please avoid this company if you have even mediocre expectations on communication, project management, and value.

Outbound calling and appointments. We have not seen any benefits as of now except a really big headache working wiht them.

Very good at marketing themselves, made me belive they are the best in class

Broken process, multiple teams work independently from each other, with almost no oversight. 
As a customer, you are first confused and then very frustrated by the time you spend trying to ramp up and coordinate people.
We left after three painful months and one scheduled meeting

We are still with Martal - not perfect, but they deliver

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Their team, their process, their communication, their daily and ongoing trackable tasks and lead generation activities and their detailed reporting allowing for immediate changes and improvements when needed and insight into performance and ROI

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

The sales team was a little overly optimistic on how quickly they would provide ROI. As we all know campaigns take time to build and grow.

You need to give them access to your entire process, all your content, your messaging and your brand to succeed. You need to partner with them fully and make them part of your team. Their people, their tools and their process will succesfully integrate into your company and provide you amazing results!

They have greatly improved our overall lead generation including: creating qualified and targeted lead lists, build campaigns, daily calling, emailing and touching those leads on LinkedIn-sending them appropriate and helpful information and conent.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Working with the CIENCE team has been amazing. They are so professional and have clear processes to ensure success. They took time to understand our business and developed multiple outreach playbooks for the variety of industries and titles we work with. They also handle all of the outreach to our leads and have successfully set multiple appointments for our team. We would not be able to properly follow up with the leads we receive without CIENCE.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

One feature we currently don't use is LinkedIn outreach. We didnt feel comfortable giving personal profile access, but others may not have that same policy!

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We did not have the resources to properly follow up with the number of leads we recieve. CIENCE has been able to take over this aspect for us and has seen a ton of success.

They make a considerable effort to get to know our business.  That effort has resulted in more qualified leads.  They can overcome more objections because of their knowledge.  It feels like they are an extension of our team and not an outsourced resource.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

There are lots of different people working on various components of our campaign.  I think this is necessary, but I don't always know who is working on what.

They are filling our lead funnel and delivering very qualified leads.

We worked with CIENCE for roughly three months. They did a great job of researching and reaching out to target companies. We've seen a decent bit of qualified leads from their efforts.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

We really enjoyed working with Daria, Boris, and the rest of the team. Boris did a great job of taking our feedback when putting together lists of target companies. Daria was a great project manager and always kept us informed about our account.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

The one downside is not having the option to continue without the calling aspect of the relationship. We saw great value in all of their efforts but were particularly happy with how the campaign was going on the research, email, and LinkedIn side. Unfortunately, CIENCE doesn't offer a plan without an outbound caller.

The main thing CIENCE solved for us was having the resources to reach a large audience of qualified businesses with our message.

Tried an outreach campaign with them to research companies and contacts and run a campaign to deliver leads/appointments for us.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

I think the setup of the process where the research is executed and email campaigns are handled and the playbook is created was meaningful. They were able to do most of the work from their Ukraine office and playbook creation included a US resource which was helpful and made the effort to create what might work.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

The caller that was assigned to us was not introduced early on. After almost 1.5 months, we met the caller and asked her about our company and what we sell; she couldn't pronounce the company, didn't know what product we were selling, and couldn't put together two sentences related to our business. She was supposed to be trained by that time. She got more training, but she was essentially useless. They brought in another person, and I tried to get their attention by contacting the CEO, and they assigned a VP-level person to step in and help. They never said that they could add more time due to wasted time with the previous caller. They instead started adding more and more contacts to our lists to try to hit more people. We ended up moving away from our target market as they couldn't produce enough contacts in our target segment (I couldn't understand why they can't find more than a couple of hundred companies in the whole US in the manufacturing space).  Anyways, no leads got produced in 3 months, and after thousands of dollars and they essentially sent a zip file for all our data and didn't even say goodbye or tried to make things better. 

For a small business like ours, investing all we have to produce more business, you feel like you have been robbed when you don't see the effort and sincere work, and all you hear is the "trust me it will work, it always works". No trust here anymore.

We wanted to generate leads for our business by running outreach campaigns.
Benefits we realized are that you can only be successful in your outreach campaign if you have qualified people doing the work for you, and it is better to hire full-time employees to produce tangible results.

Campaign to introduce hospitals to our telemedicine services. The goal was to make hospital C-Suite members aware of the existence of our technology and services, and to secure a meeting with the decision makers.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Developed excellent marketing scripts after a short time learning about our offering. Very methodical; achieved excellent results in a short period of time. Upside is that CIENCE has an organization in place for immediately pursuing the marketing objective.  We did not have to hire, part-time, or full-time, people to do this work, prepare marketing scripts, or train new personnel.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Nothing to dislike.  Excellent and professional in every respect. No downside of using CIENCE.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business problem was reaching the C-suite of more than 2,000 hospitals that could use our telemedicine services.  The services provided by CIENCE allowed us to reach this target market in a very short period of time (less than 3 months).   They were successful at identifying the key decision makers at most of the hospitals they contacted on our behalf.

The difficulty of accessing performance metrics over time! (But we found a work around.)

Cience is great with communication and providing answers for any questions we may have.

The turn-around timeline from initial outreach to meeting/ closed deal is longer than expected. The SDR's also need time to familiarize themselves with the product.

They are always quick to point any obstacles, there's always great communication and support from their side and they pivot quickly in case there are any changes. I also like how data and result oriented their team is. One of the things we struggle most with is the language differences with our target audience. My team and I work with the LATAM region, mainly composed of Spanish and Portuguese speakers. We are a professional services firm that engaged with Cience in October of 2020 to generate client leads/appointments. They worked multiple communication channels for 13 weeks and schedule one appointment for us in January 2021. Our engagement with them ended recently and we have $0 of return on the $22,000 spent.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

Their contract is very easy to understand and read. You just have to remember to read the and remember the Service Start Date and Renewal Date so that you don't get stuck with automatic renewal.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

Their offshore team struggled with written English language; there were no accomplishments on any level of the engagement. Total waste of $22,000 USD.

**Recommendations to others considering CIENCE:**

If you are in the professional services space, you may want to look at other lead generation companies before deciding to spend $22k for services that render no return on investment.

We tried to have Cience generate appointments for our consulting division (professional services). There were no realized  benefits on any level whatsoever.

> Believe it or not, we’d like to start by thanking you for your candor. It sounds like you had an awful experience - completely inconsistent with our values and the experience of our other customers - and we’d like to make it right.

For anyone else reading we would also like to clarify a few things since many of the experiences you share here are inconsistent with the way that we operate and were - frankly - quite surprising to read.

For example, we never promise a number of appointments. Guessing at appointment volumes without first testing is a fool’s errand (practiced by many others).

The number of appointments needed to achieve economic results is a function of your price points and sales acumen, which we don’t control. The number of appointments possible is a function of your brand, the target segment, and the urgency of the problem you solve which we also don’t control. We know that our methods are the fastest way to get to answers about whether outbound will work, but it’s close to impossible to figure out how many appointments are possible without testing in the real world.

Also (critically) outbound just doesn’t work for everyone. While we weed out companies in our sales journey where we are SURE outbound won’t work, fully 20% of vetted prospects that proceed with us are unable to get to an economic result, sometimes as a result of fewer appointments than needed to achieve the result, and sometimes because the appointments can’t be turned into sales. That’s the entire reason we have an evaluation period before long term commitments - at a minimum our approach is the most sophisticated and economical way to rule OUT outbound for those unsure whether it will work.

In our analysis of clients where we have failed to generate economic results, there are two categories of shortfall: failure to generate sufficient appointments and failure to handle appointments that were generated.

Since it sounds like the first category is more relevant here, here are the primary correlates most connected to failure to deliver appointments:
* Extremely challenging segment. If you are targeting CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, the job is exceedingly difficult...
*Small ICP / Segment. Outbound requires some volume. Small segments are hard to target, and while segment size is always flagged in the sales process, some clients elect to try against small or difficult segments anyway, which increases the risk of subpar results.
*Straying too far from proven methodologies. Rarely, CIENCE recommends trying novel strategies that have some risk of falling, if the potential upside warrants it. More frequently, proven methodologies are adjusted or abandoned due to client constraints or recommendations - sometimes those have to do with brand constraints, and sometimes clients simply insist on campaign strategies they prefer. While we do our best to push back when we think these changes are likely to negatively impact outcomes, ultimately clients are in charge of their campaigns. 
While correlation doesn’t mean causation, we know that major client-driven adjustments to campaigns are a very strong predictor of campaign challenges.

Given the anonymous nature of this review, it’s hard for us to say whether any of these applied to your account - and we certainly don’t intend to imply that ANY of them are relevant.

But what we can say is that it’s incredibly disheartening that any CIENCE client was left with the impression your documented and we would welcome the opportunity to learn more from you and make it right.

It would take a lot more time to source, interview, hire, train internally.  I would recommend Cience to any organization needing help with inbound lead flow.

CIENCE helped us generate a steady inflow of qualified leads and book meetings for our sales team. Throughout our time with them, they've tripled our weekly meetings booked through outbound prospecting and exceeded expectations. They've been a joy to work with.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

The project manager we were assigned to lead bi-weekly check-ins was wonderful and she clearly managed a team well. She always followed up with our requests in a timely manner and incorporated the right team members when needed. Never dropped the ball on anything.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

The downsides of working with CIENCE are the same as with any outsourced team. Sometimes it can be faster to have internal team members do work. But, I wouldn't complain about CIENCE's ability to move quickly whatsoever. Very agile team.

Due to COVID, our pipeline dropped out. We needed to generate new sales meetings quickly because we have a long sales cycle. We looked at a few different agencies and went with CIENCE and a more traditional B2B agency. CIENCE booked us 10 meetings per month over three months — which is exactly the number they said we should expect. The traditional agency booked one. We weren't sure that the quality of the meetings were good, but that's entirely in our control based on our list criteria and messaging. They do all the heavy lifting of research, outreach, follow-up, and tracking data. If you take ownership of the target accounts and messaging, you should be successful. One of our meetings converted into a new client this past week.

**What do you like best about CIENCE?**

It's fairly inexpensive for a BDR plus research. You wouldn't be able to get this high of quality through a contractor or FTE. They are extremely responsive and open to trying different things to increase results.

**What do you dislike about CIENCE?**

You have to take ownership of the success. They are going to do all the tactical things, like list building, emails, outreach, but you need to own the target list and the messaging in order to be successful.

**What problems is CIENCE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are increasing the number of sales meetings booked. As a B2B company that signs very few deals per year, more meetings are always better. It's also enabled us to look critically at buying signals and be more prescriptive when identifying areas of improvement.
