This cloud-based sales tax automation platform aims to ensure customers accurately calculate, collect, and remit taxes to the correct authorities every time. Boasting 100+ years of tax research experience, CCH SureTax assures customers stay on top of constant tax legislation changes. The sales and use tax rates and rules get automatically updated, reflecting 100,000+ annual changes for 24,000+ authorities in the US and Canada. With a single login, customers can look up rates and taxability for a particular product, and access their Calculations, Returns, Reporting, and Exemption Certificate Management (ECM) modules. The data flows directly from one module to another, eliminating human error associated with manual data manipulation and calculations. All changes and transactions can be recreated in the event of an audit and provide customers with a strong audit defense. Support folks should be at least somewhat knowledgeable about my industry and how to best meet my needs as a user. I use their tools often. You can attach PDF's and other files right into the company accounting file which they call a 'binder'. **What do you dislike about CCH® SureTax® Platform?** It's an older application that has had a few face lifts. Under the flashy new screens lies a dated sub-system that still has old options that support tells you not to turn on (why don't they developers just remove them???). **Recommendations to others considering CCH® SureTax® Platform:** Their on-line knowledge base is polluted with old irrelevant information. **What problems is CCH® SureTax® Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Allows us to send our company financials and documents out to our independent auditor. ### 8. It's cloud hosted, and it is relatively fast. **What do you dislike about CCH® SureTax® Platform?** The downside, is it it not cheap, and it has a high learning curve. Sometimes it has been our experience that crashes will lose large amounts of work. **What problems is CCH® SureTax® Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Integrated Tax, Accounting and Client management in a full platform package. ### 9. It is easy once you have a form to fill in the information. **What do you dislike about CCH® SureTax® Platform?** Not all forms are updated quickly. Some older versions of forms are hard to locate or not available. **What problems is CCH® SureTax® Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Processing tax or business filings for clients. Both current and past. ### 10. You can import/export depreciation schedules, autoflow tax documents and organize engagements for businesses and individuals. **What do you dislike about CCH® SureTax® Platform?** Automation of inputting tax documents comes with extensive review of proper application and typically involves more analysis. CCH can be less intuitive to use than competitors products but is ultimately easy to use once trained. **Recommendations to others considering CCH® SureTax® Platform:** Research products available and know what you don't know. Use prosystems engagement software for all businesses. ### 11. Horrible Customer Service **Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice **Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2014 **What do you like best about CCH® SureTax® Platform?** It definitely is easy to use their website to e-file tax returns but that is where the ease ends. **What do you dislike about CCH® SureTax® Platform?** The vague descriptions when a return is rejected are just awful. In order to figure out what those mean and why your return was rejected you must call their customer support which falls short. They lead you to believe they will fix the issue and clear the diagnostic so your return will be re-released by them but do not trust that it will. This past tax season they forgot to do so after assuring me they would leaving us with a delayed filing. Very disappointing. **Recommendations to others considering CCH® SureTax® Platform:** Bad customer service! If you do complicated returns, consider another program. **What problems is CCH® SureTax® Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** The benefits of the e-filing website are great - as long as there are no hiccups along the way. When you are filing hundred of returns there are bound to be hiccups and CCH is not helpful (especially for the price you are paying). ### 12. The demos and meetings had a lot of ambiguity in them and the team was not always capable of answering question on the spot. It felt as if the product was half baked. Ultimately, their sales team stopped contacting us, even though we had given them no indication that we were not going to proceed with their product. **Recommendations to others considering CCH® SureTax® Platform:** We did not end up purchasing this product and this sales cycle took place about one year ago, so hopefully the product is much improved now.
