I love that Zamp emails me for approvals before filing for each month or quarter depending on state requirements. It's useful because I can always ensure we have the correct amount of money available in our specific business checking account to cover the necessary sales taxes. The initial setup was easy. I think we could use an automatic approval system for approving sales tax in scenarios where we are unable or forget to approve specific months or quarters. Not currently. Looking into other sales tax companies due to the cost point - other companies seemingly can handle the sales tax for misc. states with less cost. We onboarded Zamp after canceling our renewal with Avalara, and were under a bit of a time crunch to make sure we didn't miss a filing deadline, and Zamp made the process easy as possible with daily calls to ensure that all of our i's were dotted and t's were crossed. Zamp is super responsive to questions and provides helpful context for any notices that we receive, most of which are already being taken care of. I cannot think of any downsides to using Zamp. Managing sales tax is a tedious and burdensome task for any e-commerce company, especially startups with limited resources, and products like Avalara sometimes only make things more complicated. I sometimes find it challenging when making changes related to company statuses, especially when we recently updated our company title from LLC to incorporated. There are certain changes that Zamp couldn't handle because these require the company itself to make the modifications directly. What I dislike about Zamp is that they continue to email us about which date to apply the payments, even though by now they should be familiar with the appropriate dates. It feels repetitive, as we've already gone through this process multiple times.

Another point of frustration is that the state filing letters are still sent directly to us instead of to Zamp, and setting things up with each jurisdiction can be somewhat cumbersome and frustrating.

One area for improvement is the lack of a native integration with Shopify for real-time sales tax calculations at checkout. It would be a huge value-add if Zamp could sync directly with our storefront to automate tax calculations on the front end, rather than relying solely on post-sale reporting or using another third party application.
