"Multi-channel, multi-state sales tax that finally works on autopilot"
5/5
What do you like best about Kintsugi?

We switched from Avalara AvaTax to Kintsugi to handle sales tax calculation, collection, and remittance across our BigCommerce store and QuickBooks Online. What I like best is that it now just runs in the background. Tax gets calculated correctly at checkout, flows into QBO, and filings get handled without me babysitting it.

We had some bumps early in the transition, but the Kintsugi team took ownership. They dug into our setup, coded fixes on their end, and followed through until everything worked. I joked with them that the less I talk to them, the better, and that’s where we are now. For a small business owner, that’s the best compliment I can give a tax tool. It frees me to focus on selling instead of tracking state tax rules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kintsugi?

The early integration was rough. After we moved over from AvaTax, we ran into bugs with both BigCommerce and QuickBooks Online. To Kintsugi’s credit, they coded fixes for all of them, and those issues are now resolved.

The one remaining frustration is the workflow in QBO when creating a new invoice. Our sales staff have to close the invoice and re-open it for Kintsugi to apply tax properly. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it isn’t intuitive, and it took a while to train our team to do it consistently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
