The manual, brute-force nature of programming the chatbot's responses. The chatbots fail to respond to follow-up questions or questions that are more complex than single one-line commands. Additionally, all of their programmed responses are limited to 255 characters, which is extremely cumbersome from the developer end. There is not a single bot on Rebot could come close to passing the Turing Test. Additionally, most are not age-appropriate or well-programmed for that matter. From the programmer's side, there is a lot of room for improvement that could be made by using a generalized AI methodology adapted off of more popular bots such as Siri, Cortana, or Google Assistant.
