Aplos is one of the few accounting systems set up purposefully for Non-profits. Their Fund accounting is easy to follow and set up went quickly. Customer support is thorough and swift. I use Aplos every day that I am in the office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Aplos has a donor system in addition to the accounting system. Since we use another application, it is unfortunate that we do not get a discount for unused portions of the application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the easily customizable reports and the ability to email contribution statements directly to donors from the system, which is extremely efficient. The custom reporting lets us track and provide data to church organizations about their income and expenses. Additionally, our experience switching from Church Windows to Aplos was extremely positive due to the fantastic virtual bookkeeper support during the transition and initial setup. Over the last 18-24 months, our bookkeeping support has been challenging. Due to staff turnover, we have had at least three bookkeepers during that time frame and have not been able to establish supportive working relationships. Additionally, when calling in for support, seldom is anyone available to assist. As the Board Treasurer with minimal accounting experience in "Fund Accounting", Aplos gave me all the tools to start, grow and maintain our books quickly. Instead of a cumbersome system of spreadsheets and saved only to my computer accounting system, Aplos lets me travel and access all our accounts from ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. It is great! The search function within the various realms is great. I mainly use the accounting realm, which, naturally, includes interfacing with the People realm. The notes field is essential in that new funds do not have to be created for short-term fundraising activities. While in the Donation realm, you can search for the fundraising activity, and they're all listed AND available to export.

With so many reports, you have to think like a bookkeeper—which I'm not. The filters don't work like I think they should, but that's because I'm looking for something situationally specific. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really appreciate Aplos for its simplicity in managing financial tasks, particularly the registers, which makes tracking financial data more efficient. Starting with Aplos was a smooth experience, largely because of the excellent support we received to get us up and running. Additionally, the training modules were very effective in helping us understand how to utilize the software efficiently. Being as I went from Quickbooks to Aplos, I was impressed with how easy it was to set things EXACTLY as I needed for the church funds. It didn't take long for me to learn and when I had questions customer support was very quick to respond. That being said, it was also easy for me to just google my question and there were step by step instructions right at my fingertips. I use Aplos for all my accounting, everyday. I went from using four different spreadsheets, to only using Aplos and one Spreadsheet (it isn't necessary to use the extra spreadsheet but it makes me feel better lol). The one thing I do not like about Aplos is that everything cost extra to implement. For example I do not pay for check printing, so I still have to write everything by hand, and make sure my check is 100% accurate when I put it in the system. I like Aplos for its user friendliness and the layout of things, which makes it pretty easy to use. The layout allows me to navigate to any area I need in just two or three clicks, making it fast, and the upgraded layout is even faster. Aplos is easy to use and provides a complete list of reports that our church may use for tracking our programs and expenses. It is very intuitive and does not require a lot of accounting knowledge to use. In addition, whenever I have any problems or issues, Aplos customer support team acts quickly to solve my problems.
