Thank you to the team for making this process seamless and stress-free! **What do you dislike about Raisely?** There is nothing I don't like about Raisely and their team. **What problems is Raisely solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have 2 landing pages and I am not a technical person, so they have been able to help me do CSS to make it shine or even help me fix the errors on the page, but with ease! ### 2. It has been a solid choice in many ways, but there are now key limitations that are affecting operations and donor experience. That said, there are still a number of features and strengths that made it appealing to us originally — and some that still hold up well. Fast setup We can create graphically strong fundraising campaigns quickly and easily, without needing developer time. It’s straightforward to use and visually polished, which means our team can launch campaigns fast with minimal training or fuss. Reliable and stable It’s reliable at processing donations — we haven’t experienced downtime or transaction issues. This matters a lot when running live campaigns or donation pushes. Peer-to-peer fundraising Peer-to-peer campaigns are one of Raisely’s stronger areas. The system makes it easy to create branded, good-looking supporter pages. While there are some notable limitations (like no support for recurring PayPal donations and poor reporting for recurring donors), the framework is solid. I even built a custom widget to get around some of these gaps — and thankfully, Raisely allows for that kind of custom code injection. Decent API access The API is robust and flexible. We’ve used it to integrate data across our systems and automate reporting. While it doesn’t go deep enough on recurring donors (a theme you’ll see in my review), the rest of the API offering is excellent and well-documented. Australian-based support One of the most refreshing aspects of Raisely is their support model — it’s local. Being based in Australia means their team understands our regulatory and operational environment. We’ve had great experiences with fast responses and useful help, without needing to wait two or three days for someone overseas to respond. Thoughtful feature set (pre-2023) It’s clear the platform was originally built with care and insight into what nonprofits need. The documentation is incredibly well-written, the UX is mostly intuitive, and you can tell a lot of effort went into making it a flexible, empowering platform — up until 2023 when it was sold to Keela. Since then, updates have slowed, and a few key features have been neglected or abandoned, but the original build quality still shows. **What do you dislike about Raisely?** While the foundation remains strong, there’s a fair few small bugs and inconsistencies in the page-building tools that impact how reliably we can launch or update campaigns. The mini-CRM, while functional for basic use, has significant limitations — particularly when it comes to managing supporter records. For example, it lacks modern search and filtering capabilities; we can’t run queries like “find me records with this name OR that tag, AND this words” and multi-condition searches are simply not supported. This makes day-to-day admin frustrating and forces us to use awkward workarounds just to perform routine tasks. The page building tools and login/management methods for P2P are very very restrictive and force user down a certain path, and after coming from a more open platform like GiveWP (which we moved off because it was so unreliable) we are really restricted in how it worked. No pledge or partial payment tracking There’s no way to handle pledges or scheduled gift commitments. Everything must be a one-off or recurring payment. This creates major issues for structured gifts, sponsorships, or offline donors who want to give in instalments. We track pledges manually outside the platform. The biggest issue, however, is that Raisely still does not support PayPal for recurring donations. That’s a serious blocker. A large portion of long-term sponsors prefer PayPal, not just out of habit but because it avoids issues like expiring credit cards. Some Raisely users that are logo'd on the website are actually using other tools for regular sponsorship's. You can’t get a clear view of who’s giving regularly, what they’re giving, or easily share that data with P2P fundraisers. We had to build our own widget to even make this visible. You cant create a peer and assign a peer owner and say "you need $10k a month" and that then displays on the site. Just donations. Event and gift tracking are basically non-existent Thin support for ticketing, no RSVPs, or managing events in a meaningful way. No proper way to track gifts from offline or third-party sources. You can’t link documents to supporter profiles or store any files — so even basic record-keeping has to happen elsewhere. They have after a long time announced an integration with Keela, which is made by the same company. But again, frustratingly they dont allow users to see or trial the platform. Instead they have a nag on the admin panel asking you to book in a meeting with Keela (Eg, sales presentation) and they dont provide any pricing or other information to consider prior to having that. Keela is an NFP CRM. It also supports Paypal Subscriptions and has more robust CRM/donor management capabilities, so imagine that we are now told that we need to pay even more money to get a feature that should already be in the package we are paying for already (and fees per transaction). When that happens, the first thing anyone does it look at the alternatives, as "if we are being pushed to spend more on another platform, to do what we need, lets look at more than one other platform" If I was Raisely/Keela, I would have simply turned the integration on, got people using it then made it an add on. At a reasonable price. Not a sales meeting. When we looked into it, Keela would have a significant cost for our donorbase (they charge a success tax based on how many subscribers in your donor list). So we have worked around that with Airtable. (Sidenote, one of the biggest detractors in all the approaches of assessing software are companies that will not provide you pricing or trial access without a meeting/sales presentation. That tells you they need to "sell you" on something) **What problems is Raisely solving and how is that benefiting you?** Raisely solves the problem of quickly launching visually appealing and reliable fundraising campaigns without needing custom dev work. It gives us a stable platform that can take donations without crashing, supports peer-to-peer fundraising, and allows us to create campaigns with strong branding and donor engagement. It also provides a simple way to manage donor data and communication in one place, even if the CRM is limited. The API access lets us hook into other systems when needed, and having local Australian support has been a real bonus — they understand our environment and are quick to respond when things go wrong. ### 3. I dislike that we didn't find them earlier and that I don't have enough time in my schedule to sit for hours and deep dive into the features. The customer support provided as part of their platform service is incredible, any questions you have are answered promptly and in great detail along with the opportunity to connect via Zoom with one of their experts if necessary. The website is so easy to use and I found implementing the necessary features we require for functionality an enjoyable task. **What do you dislike about Raisely?** There are a few areas that require custom code such as changing certain heading colours within the actual page, sometimes this does not work and I feel for the ease of the Raisely support team, that this should be an accessible feature so users can do this on their own without the requirement of code or support. **What problems is Raisely solving and how is that benefiting you?** Raisely is allowing us to easily track fundraisers across our various campaigns, set up in multiple different countries. This means we can streamline our users within one platform, we can deliver donations to our program managers at each location much more efficiently and this creates a greater sense of engagement when the people on the ground can see the rewards of their fundraising efforts. Great fundraising campaign templates which are easy to customize **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Dean Y. | Business Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024 **What do you like best about Raisely?** I first came across the Raisely when I was a local Rotary board member about 5-6 years ago. A common issue with charities which do not have an automated donations platform is that a bank deposit donation requires "someone" to issue a receipt. Donors who don't get acknowledged can become quite unhappy and vocal! However, sending someone a receipt is often very time consuming and difficult, if not impossible to do. A bank deposit contains no contact information, and may even have an unrelated name. Who do you address and send the receipt to if you have no contact information? Raisely has this all automated, and that the process for donors is incredibly simple - most importantly, it sends out email tax receipts automatically, without any human intervention! So when a group of friends decided to start our own charity, I got them across the line by originally promising that all of the donor management would be automated with a slick "off the shelf" system that would be easy to implement and not have significant upfront and ongoing costs - Raisley. So far, we have run 6 campaigns and Raisely has not dissapointed. We continue to explore and find new features, customisations and professional ways of doing things. Raisely is a complete fundraising platform with many easy to use campaign templates. I have found that its easy to customise to the nth degree (almost). When I'm stuck as to how to change something, the BEST thing is the email support provided. Support is really responsive and their emails response show you EXACTLY what to do. The ability to allow users / teams to create their own individual mini-campaign (eg for a specific bereavement or celebration, with email notifications going directly to the user) was a real game-changer for us as it allows totally autonomous mini-campaigns to be set up with minimal intervention. We are now doing our first ticketed events (Xmas BBQ, NYE etc) and the templates have been similarly good. We've been able to ask about food preferences and table seating arrangements using the custom fields, customise our facebook/whatsapp group posts and look forward to using the system to manage attendance at the events. Thank you for a really great platform - it is making a huge difference and is much appreciated! **What do you dislike about Raisely?** Raisely is very customisable, but this means that there are a lot of menu options. So as a relative newbie, it can be challenging to find out where to make a modification. They have very good training videos, however that takes time to go thru! The great thing is that when I do get stuck, the support is responsive and generally solves my issue within 1 iteration. **What problems is Raisely solving and how is that benefiting you?** Creates a platform for fundraising solutions - eg we needed a way to manage donations in lieu of flowers at Bereavements. Raisely had a system ready to go, off the shelf, which was professionally designed, very well thought out and way beyond our expectations. Similarly we are now arranging a ticketed fundraising event, and the template are already there to be used. So easy to have tickets issued and paid in advance, followup messages etc. It even includes a ready to go attendance register. So for a startup charity, it has so many professional systems ready to go all in the same platform ### 8. There are some terrific innovations, some useful integrations (although having a Zapier expert on our team definitely helped!), and very straightforward walkthroughs and help pages. If they continue to deliver on the featurettes and functionality we've suggested then, I'd have to up my score to a 10! **What do you dislike about Raisely?** That an out-of-the-box integration to our CRM came at a high (for us) monthly cost (albeit from a 3rd party provider) - which meant we ended up going with a self-made integration we would rather not have spent the time on. It is a little clunky and unforgiving if you want to move things around in the body of the email. It's also a little glitchy, with it booting me out a couple of times before I had a chance to save my content. I'd love more work on CRM functionality, such as bringing in the data from donations into the user-defined fields for "People", but they are working on it. If you have more resources available, you can create hyper-customized campaigns; this is why I feel this platform is great for non-profits of all sizes. The support at Raisely is truly top-notch. They have an extensive, easy-to-follow, knowledgebase of articles to support you. If you can't find your answer, their support team has always had an answer to me within 24 hours. The support team is very knowledgeable, and friendly! They also take constructive feedback very well; I've personally seen a few of my recommendations come to fruition. As a Canadian charity, we have some heavy tax receipting compliance requirements, and Raisely meets them all! You can customize the information being pulled into the receipt, and have donation receipts be attached as PDFs to emails. **What do you dislike about Raisely?** I've been racking my brain trying to think of something to say here, and I truly can't think of a thing! I've had some constructive feedback along the way, but any real challenges we've had with Raisely have been resolved! **What problems is Raisely solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our most frequent use of Raisely is to offer more freedom and flexibility to our larger third party events. We have a separate platform that we have been using for one-off DIY fundraising campaigns, however the rigid nature of the platform does not work for larger third party events, especially peer-to-peer events. Raisely has allowed us so much more creative freedom for these events, empowering event organizers to be inspired to raise more. This will help us with a wider variety of campgaigns. We were then able to test and then go live in a very short timeframe. **What do you dislike about Raisely?** The main area of dislike is the formatting of campaign pages is restrictive and requires CSS knowledge to get everything as you like. Now our fundraisers could receive emails specific to them triggered by a specific action. For example, if they were 80% of the way to their fundraising goal, they would automatically receive an email congratulating them and encouraging them to hit their goal.
