Price is higher that I would like, I don't use all the features, and only use it to look back at my tasks for timesheet recording.

**What do you like best about Timely?**

The automatic tracking on each website and window used on the computer. I have multiple chrome profiles and work on multiple projects throughout the day.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

Sometimes it doesn't specify which email box I'm using and just lists as Gmail. Same with some other applications

**Recommendations to others considering Timely:**

I found this most useful as a freelancer trying to manage the different companies that I am working for in order to bill them for my time. Prior to using timely I was having to remember to start and stop a timer or manually make note of the time and I was failing miserably.  The best part of Timely is that it works in the background and I can do tasks for different projects all throughout the day at different times without having to think about it.

**What problems is Timely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't even have to think about tracking different projects. It's an immense relief to have the system track time spent on different things

**What do you like best about Timely?**

I'm a contractor/freelancer who is required to bill in 15 minute increments to multiple clients using multiple billing codes. As you can imagine this is burdensome and time consuming.

I tried several different time-tracking platforms which took almost as long as using pen and paper. Then I was recommended Timely by a colleague.  

It took me a few weeks to get used to it, and it to me, but it is by far the best system I've used. The dreaded task that once took me an hour a week, now takes 15 mins. It runs in the background everyday, and at the end of the week I transfer the data to my system. 

Importantly, it is accurate, seamlessly implemented and integrated, and relatively effortless. I would not go back to not having it.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

The only issue I had with Timely was when for some reason it had logged me out and wasnt collecting my data for a week (I didnt realise until the end of the week). I had to go back to the dreaded figuring out my timetracking with pen and paper. I contacted customer support who within 24h had advised me of the issue (a system update) and provided instructions to rectify it. Then I was back up and running.

The pain point of complex, time consuming, timesheets.  It saves me a lot of time and frustration.

It randomly stops tracking memories. It's improved over time though, it used to happen more often.

**What do you like best about Timely?**

In my role, I log agency time. However, my brain does not like stopping to log time when I'm jumping from task to task or project to project. ADHD is great for getting things done, but the monotony of tracking time is such a vibe killer. When I track time manually in real time, I get less done and have less-than-chill time. The monotony is heavy. I use Timely daily.

In comes Timely and the single feature that has me on a paid plan, Memories.

I installed the desktop app quickly, and Timely has had my back ever since. 

Now I just work and do my thing, and when I want to log my time, it is on my time, based on my energy, and it's even more accurate than just remembering and guessing later. 

I'm sure the rest of the features are great, and I've never needed customer support since there have been no issues.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

There is nothing I have come across so far, that I dislike.

**What problems is Timely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Timely allows me to track accurate time. We're tracking billable and nonbillable hours, so accuracy is important, not to mention having receipts of actual worktime as a remote employee.

**What do you like best about Timely?**

Before, I loved everything. Now I love the usability of the application, and that's about it.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

Timely memorizes what you do on multiple devices, such as what window you have opened on your machine and what location your phone is in. Their AI technology also automatically adds these memories to each project.

I love the sound of that; I want that. I think we all like that. What I thought Timely would mean for us isn't possible; it's sort of a lie. We used Timely for many years and were huge fans of the software. But after a while, we understood the effects it had on our organization, so we chose to cancel it and go back to manual timesheets.

Timely does have access to a lot of data that it can use to create a timesheet, but it doesn't really understand what you do. The concept fools you into believing that you have more accuracy and consistency; that you get to leave the "driving" to Timely, and all you need to do is give it some guidelines from time to time. 

We saw, in a systematic (larger) way, that our timesheets became, in fact, less accurate. Some people in our organization started slacking on writing the timesheets because they felt they had all the historical data in Timely and could do it whenever, even months later. What we observed is that when using Timely, you end up leaving it up to an AI model that doesn't really know what you did to create your timesheets. At some level, it becomes random.

I am solving time tracking.

We need to create subcategories of projects like VA - Value Add, NVA -Non-Value Add. Also, if there are projects with categories like external customer billable versus Internal non billable projects, then this timely tool adds complexities.

Timely tool helps to show the VA - Value Add project activities versus NVA - Non-Value Add activities. This help to forecast the percentage of usages of resources.

I often work on different topics. Thanks to the view in Timely, I can easily see in the evening how long I have been working on each topic. This eliminates the need to constantly switch the stopwatch on and off. With Timely, I can easily fill in my reports at the end of the day and devote the rest of the time to my work.

The AI sometimes makes interesting project assignments, so a small amount of manual work remains.

**What do you like best about Timely?**

I've been using Timely for about 8 years now. I absolutley love its function. I use it on a daily basis. It integrates with all my tools. I do contract work and am constantly multi-tasking and switching between projects. It tough for me to fully track the exact hours that are needed. With Timely the time tracking is quick and clean. I love it too that I can go backwards in time and review all my past time entries for better invoicing to the client. It such a time saver ;)

Nothing really. I haven't had a problem with it's use.

It tracks my time wonderfully and doesn't skip a beat. I love it too that it tracks my location for when I am doing on-site work.

The memory app works wonders. Auto-track everything you do on your computer and you can easily add the work in timetables at the end of the day, tag client work, and make notes about the work you just did.
The UI itself is clean and elegant, no tutorial is needed to achieve what you need.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

Some features shouldn't be under a paywall or a greater tier, like if a certain task was already billed to a client.

Putting value into my hours that I work with client work. I needed a tool that could auto track the work I was doing during the day, and then I could just drag whatever I was working for a certain client without using multiple apps just to achieve one thing. Timely does everything that I needed

Not much to dislike - unless you want a complex solution to solve a simple issue (as I have seen on D365 or Salesforce).   Timely is continuously improving and many suggestions have been made available.  Personally I do not have errors with the Memory app and I think the 'AI' does its best to guess - with as few data as possible (GDPR) where to place my drafts.

**What problems is Timely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a consultant, by the end of the week, I used to "miss" or have "lost" time used on customers to invoice.  With Timely this seldom happens.  The activities (or memories as called in Timely) captured can be easily associated to a project.
As a team member, you get constantly interrupted by colleagues from the local or foreign offices, now I can see in Timely the time used for that.
I don't think individuals can multitask, but multithread, yes. And I do this a lot at work, jumping from task to task. Timely made my time used in different activities transparent.

It sits in the background and logs what you spend your time on. The ability to log activities to projects and then for the projects to have a time/cost is invaluable to see where you are spending too much time.

It doesnt record time spent on phone calls within the app - this would help save adding it manually.

Timely is very easy to use and has a very clear and fun, modern interface. Timely offers everything you need for time registration: you can register time second by second with a few clicks and per file, you can register in files together with colleagues, you can print handy monthly overviews where you can indicatie yourself what is visible and what is not, you can insert as much text as you deem necessary or use tags, you can make changes easily and replace files, ... I can't see any disadvantages with Timely and I recommend it to my colleagues.

I have no complaints about Timely. I use it every day to track time by file and at the end of the month I get an overall picture. I have never had a problem with it.

Timely helps me to record my time per client, so that I can justify each service to both the client and myself as a company, accurately and in detail.

It's very usefull as I'm free to work on projects and it follow me to assign work hours to the proper Clients.

My time gets tracked automatically, easy to see where my time is spent. Tags are nice to break down where time is spent within projects

Still have to review the day, but I don't think there's a way to get away from that and have it accurately assigned to correct projects and tags.

It provides management with clear data about software and website usage. It was installed easily to my device and able to be used daily with minimal disruptions.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

For some websites or programs, it chunks your usage into one big block. My specific gripe is with Salesforce. I am usually working multiple cases or accounts, and it struggles to chop them up into their own block.

**What do you like best about Timely?**

To begin with, it simply works. Zero learning curve, just install and it tracks in the background. Saves me huge mental effort and time of trying to track back what I've done across multiple projects to enter manually into previous apps I used. I can go back weeks later and see exactly what files I was working on and assign to projects easily. Although because it's so easy, I do it quickly rather than putting it off! It's also earned me way more than it's cost – because I can accurately bill rather than underplaying the time I've spent on a project. It also shows me how productive I've been or, just as often, how unproductive! I've never really bothered with productivity apps because the learning curve has been too much effort versus the potential gain – but this is one of the very few I've adopted, effortlessly, and so become a bit of an evangelist for. Timely's support have also been awesome whenever I've emailed queries about how something works – they'll proactively keen coming back to me with further info and updates. Really hope the company and product continue as it's indispensable for me now.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

Only downsides are a couple of tiny feature gaps due to technical challenges of tracking different apps – most notably registering you're still on a meeting when you're sharing screen (in which instance it just tracks the application you're showing) – although they're recently released a Teams integration in response to this. Otherwise, genuinely just so easy for what I need it to do as a solo consultant.

Effortlessly tracking exactly where my time is spent across projects – also enabling me to bill clients accurately and with evidence, should it be needed.

Timely has helped me recover billable time that I otherwise would have missed when logging manually.  It has also helped me get time in quickly and daily, rather than trying to figure out what happened days later.  I also have it integrated via Zapier to add the time into our invoicing system, making everything seamless.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

Sometimes the AI mis-categorizes time to the wrong project, so you can't escape reviewing it all, but that's more than offset by the time savings from not having to log your time manually.

I found the lack of ability for Timely to keep track of the apps I use on my phone, as well as the time spent on phone calls and individual text messages, to be quite disappointing. It would have been incredibly helpful to have a comprehensive overview of how I spend my time on my phone, including which apps I use the most and how much time I spend on calls and texts. The ability to integrate Timely with a suite of MS applications makes this an ideal tool for tracking time and tasks in a quick and simplified manner.  I also appreciate the Report functions. Once configured and with a bit of working history the system assesses, organizes, preloads tasks to specific project categories which speeds up time reporting. The memory feature allows me to work all week, or month, and not worry about missing entries for  reporting task and time.

I am not certain that I have figured out the best and most efficitent means to generate Reports.

Integrating the different spaces and tabs I use and the amount of switching when working with clients was very effective! Shows multitasking and I can see an allocate even short minute blocks of time to allocate to a project & client.

Nothing specific, but I sometimes forget to allocate the hours if I have to select something. This is on me, though, as I have not systematised enough of my scheduling and labelling.
It remains easy to go back and make the adjustments several days later when I have a moment, and then it only takes a moment.

I’m using Timely in a small research and insights firm wher I'm using Timely each work day.Timely has been a fantastic tool for helping to track time across the projects I’m working on. Installation and setup was easy. The automated tracking of app usage, ‘drag and drop’ assignment of time in apps to projects, and the way Timely learns to categorise your work are great. Using Timely has given me a much better understanding of where my time is being spent on projects, between projects and just how much time goes on different types of overheads and admin. There is a lot more capability in the tool than I’m currently using, but the automated time tracking by itself has been worth it so far.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

I’ve not found any major limitations given my fairly simple usage scenarios. Since it doesn’t capture idle computer time where you might be taking offline notes, reading printed materials etc, you still need to remember to add this time in (or make allowance for I when using Timely as the basis for quotes).  Perhaps better prompting for this kind of missed time would improve the app, but overall I’ve found it a really useful tool.

The app is quite intelligent and makes time tracking a very low admin overhead. Usually time tracking becomes such a burden that people don't do it. Timely makes it so easy and quick - I am able to do a week's tracking within 30 minutes.

Reporting is also easy, straight forward, and accurate, and it makes our budget tracking and reporting a breeze! Additional to the reporting available on the app, we also have built a Power BI dashboard to further integrate with our other data sources.

I love that timely tracks my time whehter I'm working from the office or at home. No matter where I am putting the hours in, Timely finds them and aggregates them.  Any work I do when I am signed into one of my devices is captured, whether it's short web searches or long meetings.    I have many different clients, and I do different kinds of work for each one.  Timely is able to capture my work in a consistent way so I can demonstrate the value of my time to my clients.

As a consultant for small businesses and non-profits, I work with a lot of different organizations at differing rates and time increments. In the past I was estimating my time, and I missed counting smaller amounts of time I spent between larger projects.   Timely has showed me how much more I am working than I realized, and allowed me to invoice for almost all the time I spend on my clients.

What I appreciate most about Timely is the ability to both retroactively recover all the things done and not manually tracked, as well as create events with the timer on demand. With my company, we do quarterly reporting of hours worked. For my type of work, it's extremely complicated to record everything and remember all the activities at the end. I found this tool very useful, even though the AI for association could be improved.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

They should improve the associative AI for projects, especially regarding the recording of time spent on specific sites (e.g., Google Meet), which then becomes complex to understand which meeting it was since the URL is agnostic. It would also be useful to include shortcut keys that are always activatable from Windows, as with other similar services.

It's very easy to use. It can automatically track what programs you're using. Then, it's real easy to assign the different things to whichever project is applicable. Simple and easy to use UI.

If you leave the program tracking your computer all the time, the log can get a little cluttered. And a few of the auto-logged things are named ambiguously so its harder to know what project it applies to.

I've worked as a company of 1 for 20 years. In that time, I've tried all sorts of time tracking software as accounting for all the time spent each day is a critical need. Timely is the best solution I've found by far.

The key feature is that it takes the task of stopping/starting the tracking off the table and it just automatically tracks everything. Once projects are set up, it's not hard to use, and now I use Timely every day. My workflow involves simply doing the work that I do without starting/stopping anything (Timely runs in the background) and reviewing the automatic, project-based categorizations Timely does at the end of each day. The AI does a good job of auto-categorizing the time tracked into my projects, which saves more time--that said, I will typically "correct" its about 15% of its auto-categorizations. The whole process usually takes less than 5 minutes, and from there the Reporting features allow me to get a precise account of how much time has been spent on various client tasks. With this workflow I can bill clients for with confidence and I have the ability to further analyze the true cost of every project in terms of my own human time spent on various production tasks. 

About the only thing it can't track is the time I spend simply thinking about a project, but I can hardly fault Timely for not reading my mind!

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

I use gmail and I wish there were a way to get a bit more granular tracking around individual email messages. For example, if I do block of emails to client A (12 minutes, client B (2 minutes) and client C (7 minutes) in quick succession within the same email session, Timely currently doesn't seem to allow me to parse those tasks out by project. I'm guessing this has more to do with Gmail than Timely, however.

**What problems is Timely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need a way to track actual production time spent on various projects with a high level of precision. My own mental concepts of how much time task A, B, or C took are often unreliable and I wanted a more objective measurement of actual time spent, and--most importantly--I needed a way to assign time spent on any given task to its associated client project. In this way, Timely allows me to analyze actual time spent vs. my own mental concept of how much effort was expended vs. budget $ to help determine the true cost and margins of all the work I do on a project-by--project basis.

It tracks all activities done on a computer, very helpful for tracking time spent.
It's automatic and you can even activate AI features which will learn how you assign time. This however I deactivated because I want the full control and I have such a diverse field. You can implement third parties like Office 365, with Outlook - very helpful to track the time spent on emails, project management software etc. Unfortunately not all of my programs are yet implemented but the ones I did connect work well. You also can set a timer and there is an app for the mobile devices.
The staff is outstanding, really you feel taken care of and they are very helpful in sorting out issues.
Collaboration with teams and managing projects is good although the reports are not very flexible but show you all the data you need. The standard Export is in xlsx, pdf and csv which gives you some more possibilities to make your own reports. 
I am currently on the Premium Plan, subscribed for a year. 
What is in the pipeline of the tracking is great, there will soon be some very helpful features. 
I can recommend it especially as I value the support staff.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

If you have it installed on several  computers because you work on different machines and do switch too quickly, there might be confusion... I often have to go to a remote pc of mine in a different office and this caused problems. Then it should be turned off on one of the machines.
What does not work reliably is the GPS... on the phone. When it works it is super helpful...the time you spent at a client's place is tracked and you can assign... but unfortunately this does not work most of the time.
The price is a bit high

The memory tracker app is super useful for writing daily summaries of what I worked on at my day job, as it keeps track of Figma and google Docs tabs as well as Slack channels. The integration with google calendar and zoom is also useful, if not more because it gives good insight into actual time spent in meetings vs. the time scheduled for them. It was actually the feature that made me start using Timely again, as my tracking is now not solely dependant on my remembering to write the hours.

The Tasks and budgeting features are nice and help me with my freelance work without too much overhead.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

Not as much of a timely-specific issue, but having to get the CTO/IT department to allow Timely integration is a downside if you’re using it alone in a larger company. But I can get by without a direct Jira integration, since the memory app keeps tabs on my work anyway.

I went from both, feeling bad because not enough work got done and feeling stressed whenever I forgot to track work, to being able to point out exactly what I was working on and when and to a better understanding of how much time meetings and administrative work actually take with Timely and its Memory Tracker app.

Luckily I’m not in a position where timesheets are reviewed into the last detail — but I was there before, and Timely is something that would have spared me stress and grief back then.

Overall totally worth the change it costs per month.

In such a context, it is really important for me to be able to see where my time is going, so that I can make adjustments and manage my time more effectively.

Timely has also been incredibly helpful for my personal life, as I have struggled with undiagnosed Attention Deficit Disorder most of my adult life. One of the hallmarks of untreated ADD is poor time management and a lack of clarity re: where your hours are going. Timely has been incredibly helpful in making me organize and plan my free time better so that I am able to make progress toward my goals.

While I use Timely on a daily basis, I find the old timeline interface to be very user-friendly and easy to navigate. Ease of integration is very easy. However, I can't say I love it.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

New Timeline Interface: The new timeline, despite its increased accuracy, is cumbersome and difficult to use for logging time, leading me to avoid using it altogether. The new timeline can separate tasks but logging in it is unnecessarily complicated. Implementing a drag-and-drop method, similar to the old timeline, would significantly improve its usability. I have submitted feedback to the Timely team regarding the logging process but have not received any response, not sure if that is a customer support issue on their end or if they just don't respond to product feedback.

Limited Benefits for Account Management: As an account manager, I do not see significant benefits from using Timely. It appears to be more suitable for Product teams or teams working on specific projects to track time. For a customer service department, Timely does not seem to be effective. Our constant multitasking makes it difficult for Timely to accurately track and log our activities.

Time-Consuming Process: The process of logging time in Timely is often more time-consuming than beneficial. This detracts from the actual completion of tasks.

I genuinely wouldn't be able to tell you.... it was implemented by our company to use it but on a day to day basis for me as an account manager it's not solving anything just an inconvenience to log things everyday for the higher ups to analyze and see how we are spending out time. But it doesn't group things right so the logging is not 100% accurate.

Its simplicity of use in real time, for everyone, both for employees and for the employer who checks the hours per project.

For me, nothing needs to be changed. Everything is perfect for our company.

**What do you like best about Timely?**

Timely lets me track my time easily and quickly. It's so easy. It's a joy to use. It does one thing (tracking time) better than anyone else. The UI is beautiful. I use it as a guide for how user-friendly other apps should be.

**What do you dislike about Timely?**

I wish the end time wouldn't auto-update when I change the input time. But that's a tiny gripe.

**What problems is Timely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Timely let's me track the hours I've spent on projects. It gives me the flexibility to track large periods of time and also list them as smaller chunks/activities.
