"Review for Microsoft Visual Studio Code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is super lightweight owing to its robust architecture, and since it is free of cost, it is popular amongst its users and many organizations as well. Along with being used for desktop applications, it also supports web technologies like Json, HTML, and CSS, which is one of the main reasons behind its popularity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Some cons of using Visual Studio Code are that it uses a lot of CPU while running, which may cause your device to freeze for some minutes. Yet another thing is the lack of a built-in coding formatting tool. Microsoft could also help by adding a built-in database support like XAMPP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ultimate code editor IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The best part I liked about Visual Studio Code is,

1. Support for various programming languages such as Python, CPP, Java, Go, HTML, etc with integrated IDE.

2. Availability of free extensions marketplace such as Live Server, CMake, GitLens, Prettier, etc.

3. Free of cost available, lightweight, and quick installation.

4. Excellent code suggestions and Exceptional tips for writing code.

5. Ability to open multiple windows; hence we can parallelize our work and reduce the effort of switching code branches.

6. Integrated command palate through which we can directly push our code to pertinent codebase such as GitHub. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The only fallback of Visual Studio Code editor is the amount of memory it consumes, hence sometimes getting stuck during work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All in One Code Editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

As a web developer, visual studio code is one of the essential code editors to have, which supports development operations like debugging, task running, and version control. It has a rich set of extensions that makes a developer work easy. Talking about its extensions like Prettier, Bracket Pair Colorizer, CSS Peek, Live Server, etc., adds a lot of extra features to the code editor. So we don't have to use any other tools to perform specific actions. All are integrated as extensions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

As a developer, I'm happy with visual studio code. There is nothing that I have noticed to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ideal Modern IDE for any developement"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Easy to use, great customizability with extensions, themes etc. Supports any technology syntax and is pretty lightweight to use. The web version of the tool is also great Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Nothing much to dislike about the tool. The tool is built by engineers for engineers. So they've got most things right about it. maybe not that great for mobile app development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the best freeware code editors, but still with some limitations"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is one of the best free code editors out there. The program by itself is an extremely lightweight software. It can run on almost any configuration machine quite smoothly but what makes it great is the extensive array of plugins and extensions that come with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

My problem with visual studio is that it often lacks the enterprise features that companies want such as logging into view code, change requests. These things can be achieved via a plug in but there is no great way to figure out which plugins are good and if they have been security tested. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great IDE for.... well, everything really!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Quick and simple: I like Visual Studio Code due to its flexibility. I want to be able to open a file, and VsCode automatically recognizes what type of file it is and suggest that I install extensions if they aren't already installed... it does!

Great programming language compatability comes standard, and if it doesn't have what you need, there's an extension for that.

No extension for that? No worries, build one! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There's sometimes not an easy way to figure out which extensions are newer and do NOT have great support. This is just inherent to a flexible platform like VSCode though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"With Visual Studio Code you have everything you need in an editor."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Although a bit of a learning curve at first, Visual Studio Code has everything you need in a code editor.

A great addition of Visual Studio is the option to add many plugins to make your workflow a lot easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Nothing much really. It provides everything that you need in a code editor. If anything, it can sometimes be a bit too advanced for some simple editing functions.

There is software that is lighter (in size and PC load) than visual studio for basic functions like HTML edits and such. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent and Sophisticated!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like most about VSC is that it has so many plug-ins that helps with my programming productivity. I'm able to use the plug-ins to beautify my code, type in code acronyms, and more! It's very effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

What I dislike about VSC is on my my windows laptop it can be slow to run programs and sometimes ends up crashing, but on my Mac it doesn't seem to take as long to run my code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Code your app with light weight IDE."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The easy to code interface and easy to navigate on different files of the project.

The tons of plugin make it very useful for different coding purpose.

This light weight solution is all you need for front end development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Managing multiple project at a time is not that easy.

Sometime there is some hidden useful feature that we got to know after research, while it should be somewhere where it's easily accessible to everyone Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
