"Excellent"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It's one of the best code editor to use. The installation and it's usage is super ease. All the extensions that visual code have is very helpful, i was using spell checker and git blame extension for a very long time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

When i do debug using visual code, that puts a heavy load on my machine and in most cases my machine gets lag throughout the debug process. And in some cases typescript values shows error even if it is very well designed, and after we reopen the files related to that type the error wil automatically disapears. "The go-to code or text editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It is one of the lightest code editors in the market. It has a lot of extensions to help you code in any language you want. I use C, C++, Java and Javascript, and I have never faced any issue regarding any language. Also, you can install one out of thousands of themes to make your programming experience even better. Besides all of this, Visual Studio Code is an open-source code editor, and thus, it is entirely free and fully customizable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Even though it supports a variety of extensions that make it possible to code anything that you want to, it is still not that good as there are no in-built compilers. I have to switch to other IDEs in order to write and compile proper GUI-based Java Application. It is very irritating at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Text Editor for any programmer in any skill level"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like VS Code's light weightiness, and it runs smoothly even on my old laptop. It has the most powerful extension ecosystem for any Text Editor I've ever tried. Pluts it supports GitHub natively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There are no elements in VS Code that I don't like. All the functions work correctly in my experience. I think VS Code could be better if it supports more languages natively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very good code editor with better debugging functionality and appearance"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The searching for a particular function in a file is quite easily accessible, as well as searching throughout the folder. The debugging through the entire code is fast—a better interface with watchpoints and call stack while debugging and Linting of code. There are extensions like git lens that can be integrated with VS code. A shell prompt inside it also makes work easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Few extensions for debugging do not seem to be working.

Configuration for the debugger is complex.

Memory consumption is somewhat more and so lags a few times.

Intellisense is not always suitable for a few types of program files.

Every time an extension is added, VS code has to restart. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The only code editor you need"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VS Code is everything you want it to be and more.

The best thing I like is the vast amount of extensibility it offers. There is a plugin for everything, and rich language support comes out of the box.

It makes me more productive and does a lot of heavy lifting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It can sometimes feel bloated when doing simple tasks.

But the most painful thing I experience is that sometimes the keyboard shortcuts stop working. It has been a reported issue, I guess, and I see that many people experience it. I am not sure if it is just with the M1 Macs.

I face such minor pain points occasionally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
