"Lightweight Text Editor By Microsoft"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Very lightweight Text Editor for programmers, which supports different programming languages like Java, PHP, Js, etc. The best part is this editor supports a large number of plugins which helps users during coding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Those users who are using other IDE may have difficulty with this Text Editor at the start. Also, users may lose their extra time on plugins feature but at last, users definitely like this Text Editor very much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code is an awesome place to write your code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The best thing about Visual Studio Code is that when we save our code, it formates it automatically, resulting in a clean code view.

Apart from that there are multiple ways we can customise how we want the interface to look like which includes inbuilt themes and that is one of the coolest features available.

My team is currently using Visual Studio for web based applications development where I also work as a developer and I love working with VS code. It makes my life a lot easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Although VS Code is indispensable for app developers like me and is the best free IDE out there. However, in my opinion Python and PHP development can be made a lot easier when compared with java or javascript developement in VS code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use and highly customizable with various available extensions"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I use Visual Studio Code as my primary text editor and build most of my projects. It is effortless to use and has many embedded features in it.

The inbuilt terminal window and WSL support are the best things about the editor. Most tools can be easily integrated with VSCode and require a few steps to configure.

The python notebook support for VSCode is also instrumental in managing notebooks from the same platform as the application's source code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The navigation through the setting could have been slightly better. The default display icons for file types could be improved so that there isn't any need for external extensions for ease of managing and navigating through code files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One editor for all languages: VisualStudioCode"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The number of plugins built by the community making VSCode an editor for virtually all languages is the best feature of VSCode since it serves as a single application for all code editing needs. It integrates with remote environments like WSL, servers through SSH, and cloud IDEs like Gitpod. It provides debuggers for many languages and frameworks, making it a substitution for IDEs. It also provides integration with git, Azure and many more services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

VSCode is heavy in size and resource utilization, not the editor you would want if you are doing simple edits. The size and the resource utilization like CPU and memory cause the application to be slow and not feasible on machines with low resources. VSCode live share can make things tricky even though it is an excellent feature for collaboaration. Not all extensions are reviewed officially, hence there is a risk of using such extensions. "Amazing software but can be improved"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The best thing is you can code using any language. Most of them are supported, you just need to install some extensions for that particular language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The worst thing is that you have to search, install and set up the environment variables for any particular language, like recently I started using Java and i wasn't able to set up the environment variables. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Code Editor that supports most of the coding languages via extensions."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It has a simple GUI and is very easy to manage Explorer. Can add multiple extensions depending upon the language and environment required. Provides support for debugging, formatting, auto-completion, suggestions, and many more things. we can directly open any folder in visual studio code by enabling one of its features. Can, run commands on its terminal. Its color categorization also helps us to manage and visualize our code more easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It doesn't offer a concept of workspaces. The variety of refactoring tools and debugging tools is limited. need to add an extension for everything that we want to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code- The Best Lightweight IDE for Software Developers & Coders"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

1. The best thing about Visual Studio Code is that it is **Free** to use Software made by Microsoft. Since Microsoft developed it, it is a software you can trust.

2. It is a Platform-Independent IDE/ Text-Editor, which is available for Windows, macOS & Linux. You can download the latest version of VS Code from their Official Website.

3. you can code in whatever language you work on, and it is just a cakewalk for everyone out there.

4. It has an in-built Terminal which is an excellent thing. Intellisense provides intelligent completions of the lines of code that you are writing, which is above and beyond the auto-completions and auto-correcting.

5. You get fantastic UI/UX with various customization options and User Preferences, an extensive library of VS Code Plugins, and much more.

** It is a Complete Package for you.** Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The one thing that is bad about VS Code is that there is not a great community to support the beginners that are stepping into the coding world and trying to learn and figure out the layers of coding. If you know what you are working with, what you are working for, and your goal, It is a solid competitor to other IDEs and Text Editors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
