"Best IDE out there to start coding."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

From the beginning of my coding career, I have used Visual Studio Code and undoubtedly it is the best IDE to code. I have also used other software to code like sublime, atom and eclipse but visual studio code is just better. It is simple to use even for a beginner and advanced for a professional. I used it for all kinds of languages and it supports almost all the new as well as old languages. It has various extensions to support and improve your project too. It has internal GitHub integration too. These are some of its countless features. I advise all beginners to use Visual Studio Code. It is available on all the platforms like Windows, macOS and Linux. What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It can be a little complicated sometimes to handle multiple projects here as if you want to open some different project it has to be opened in a different window rather than in the same window. That is the one thing I want to see change in Visual Studio Code. Rest it is good to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reasons to use and not use VS Code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Lightweight text editor, one of the best for coding in all most all languages. Excellent coding support through awesome extensions. Feels like a complete product when compared to other editors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The only thing which a privacy concerned person like me dislikes about the VS Code is its telemetry and data collection which has sometimes forced me to look for an open-source alternative for the same, but at the end of the day, that alternative turned out to be just an open-source implementation of VS Code binaries, its that good. "As simple as you like"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I love its versatility and customization capabilities. The extensions library is huge, but I like keeping my environment simple. I only use themes, an extension to align text, a lint extension and another one to upload code to Netsuite. I mostly write Javascript, but have written HTML and CSS with no problems. The interface stays simple, you can arrange your tabs however you want. the minimap is very helpful while searching for something. I love the keyboard shortcuts. What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The settings can be a bit overwhelming. And since it is highly customizable, setting it up is not something you want to do every time you change computers and settings are not that easy to migrate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Coding Makes easy with VS Code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VS Code is a very easy and lightweight Editor for Coding with Multiple Language Support. I am using this software for the last 5 years and I am very happy with its usability, performance and multi-platform support. It is very easy to integrate with other tools like GitHub and it comes with a lot of extension support which makes coding very easy and helps us to write more good and clean code. It has built-in language support and built-in extension for beautifying the code. It is free and open source software which free to use and collaborative. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

For some extensions, it has some further steps to configure which is a very hard and not good feature. For some languages like ruby , SQL it have lesser support which is not catching errors while writing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Light-Weight and Easy-to-use"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I do like that is it light-weight, before I was using Pycharm then my laptop was so laggy, but just when I started using Microsoft Visual Studio Code there was a big difference, it wasn't laggy and also Visual Studio Code can also be used for web development and has a lot of extensions which are helpful like Live Server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I don't like that settings accessibility should be easier and also when I enter "code" in the command prompt or such on, it is better that it opens on the directory the command prompt or such on was open in.

Like if I was on "C:\users\myname\myproject", it would be better if it opens on that path which makes it easier than opening the folder or keeping browsing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
