"Best general purpose text editor I've used so far"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It's a very self-contained and customizable editor. There's a setting for nearly everything in the settings.json file (at least everything I've wanted to customize), which you can also add additional settings. The plugin support is very comprehensive. For example, I find the postgresql plugin very useful since I am often querying our databases, and being able to do this without switching programs really improves workflow. As a data scientist, the jupyter notebook extension comes in handy, and the docker plugin is pretty good too. While I don't use the feature, the option to have a native command line and linting is nice to have as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The autocomplete function seems to have a mind of its own, and is effectively useless in my experience. Accessing the settings.json file is not very intuitive - though I recommend using this over the UI (cmd + ,) since it doesn't seem to show all of the settings. Using workspaces can also be confusing, but in practice is pretty set-and-forget. It also lacks a lot of functionalities those used to specific language focused editors (pycharm, rubymine) are used to, but once I got used to it, I ended up preferring the "purer" approach without so many shortcuts and hand-holding. ""Visual Studio Code - Every Programmers favorite IDE ""
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Best thing that I like about visual studio code is it provide large number of extentions that helps lot in productivity. Extentions make writing code easier by providing many options like highlighting syntax, lint error etc.

Second thing that I like most is visual studio code is it provide live server feature that helps me in designing front-end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Overall I'm very satisfied with Visual studio code, But some things that I would like to suggest that needs improvements are -

- It's difficult for begginer to use visual studio code so make it simple to use.

-Few extensions are unstable and they bring trouble in work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code is a straightforward code editor that anyone can use."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like best about Visual Studio Code is that it has everything I need. It has TypeScript and JavaScript support, which comes in handy with Angular. Intellisense is also a great feature that comes standard with the editor. The layout of Visual Studio Code is engaging and allows me to work on it for extended periods without getting bored. In addition, a terminal is included where you can enter commands just as you would at the command prompt. And since I use Angular CLI so often, these features are essential to my workflow. What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I don't like Visual Studio Code because it's difficult to multitask on ordinary laptops with 8 or 16 gigabytes of RAM. Enhancing support for Java would make it a one-stop shop, but Microsoft's parent business frequently delays the release of new features. App-based project and task management and DevOps tool integration are aspects that need to be added. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best interface for software development activities"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VS code is the best and recommended IDE for developing any software code. It has an excellent user interface and attractive colour separations for different variables. It makes it easy to locate any part of the code without even searching. Auto code completion is very useful while writing code which makes it code less. The main advantage is we can code any language and can open any extension files on VS code. It has various Extensions for python, Java and all other languages. Smart extension recommendations are really useful while working on a new project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The main drawback is VS Code is a heavy package which requires high ram and storage. So it is difficult to install it on low-end laptops. It would be good if VS Code has something like VS Code lite which can be used on any system. After boot up VS code takes a lot of time to open any file. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
