" An excellent tool for the development of interpreted and compiled language."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like the most about this development environment is the minimalism that it is, since it provides a powerful and at the same time understandable platform for large and small projects.

allows integration with servers such as node.js, to facilitate the development and deployment of our projects.

I like that it has a large amount of plugin that somehow expand the functionalities of the environment to make it much more complete but without forcing you to install them if it is not necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I do not like that sometimes the environment gets dirty and gives unknown errors and the only way to repair them is by restarting the environment.

It can improve the speed of the environment and the integration with different platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I think I've found my home with Visual Studio Code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Code has a really nice interface with a ton of functionality out of the box. The other side of things is that there is a massive community of packages that extend the functionality so that VSC becomes more than just a text editor and actually can become a lightweight IDE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Out of the box, the theme and functionality is a little limited, so there is some configuration necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightweight code editor for small to medium sized projects"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Fastest free IDE for Windows without sacrificing the most vital features for programming. The GIT integration with some free plugins gives you the ability to do any kind of comparison you need. Search and replace feature is also the fastest I've seen and much faster than Eclipse. It also works on Linux which is important for my development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Plugin library not quite as diverse as some other editors. Manual configuration with JSON might be preferred in Linux environments but is not fitting when you are in Windows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Awesome community of support and highly customizable and stable"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Great community supporting the IDE since it is open source. Very reliable and includes the ability to toggle between multiple shells. Highly customizable. Highly stable. Everything you practically need is in one place.

Also, you have tools that you can add onto it that the community has created. There is also a rating system for their marketplace of addons. For example, you can load an entire SQL database in a visually formatted way by adding a SQL tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Really nothing at all. The app is fairly lightweight, customizable UI, and reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"simple and easy to use"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It has a fantastic debugging, it is free and easy to use, it is also easy to install and the management of plugins is very practical, it does not require more knowledge in the management of additional code editors and it comes with built-in git, it is an excellent alternative for any software developer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

t has a slight delay to execute the requests and to open files, which does not make it so fast unlike other editors, additionally it can not be used in the terminal of the system and is somewhat heavy with respect to the dependencies that it has so that it can work optimally Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Plug-in to productivity"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Plugins! You can find (or author) plugins for literally anything you can think of. I also love the lack of a project file. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Low barrier to entry into the plugin library. There are some very nice plugins, but sometimes you have to wade through a lot of junk to find them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
