"Excellent rewrite of a class IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The new look and environment works smoothly and is easy on the eye. Code completions and inline help have all combined to make this my new favorite editor Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

At the moment nothing. Surprisingly given that it is a Microsoft product Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tool for Javascript developing"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

- Fully customizable, from the UI appearance (which is GREAT) to the shortcuts that will make you work much faster.

- Includes an integrated console, from there you will be able to launch a server, for example.

- Performance. It's very light and fast.

- Debugging Angular, React, Vue apps is easier than ever.

- It improves every month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

- It's very powerful for Javascript development but for Java EE projects it may not be the best option, there are other tools that are more complete.

- There are some problems detecting sintax errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual studio code by Microsoft"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

This is a very light weighted development tool which can easily open large .cs files for editing.

Just like notepad++, this tool haven't got any IDE (Unless you use the keyword before) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio code does not have any compiler or custom language formatting (e.g. syntax highlighting). So you can just edit code (case sensitive) if you would need to compile it later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Lack of dedicated settings menu can make setup and debug hard to access

Can have a steep learning curve when beginning with a new language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lovely Experience, All You Need"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like best about VS Code is that it is simple, but powerful. There are so many community created packages that you can use, anything you can think of, someone has probably made one for it. It's also aesthetically pleasing, which is a plus because I spend a lot of my time on it most days. I also like that the updates are frequent and they are actually useful features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There's actually not much I dislike about VS Code. The only thing I could think of is when updating, there are sometimes an issue with it completing and it will usually brick my entire VS Code folder where it is installed, and I will have to reinstall it again, though it saves my settings so nothing important is loss. This is just more of a nuisance than anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Editor to work with"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It is a quick and easy alternative editor for Visual studio. Writing JavaScript and React JS code has been much easier with this tool. It has all the cool feature of VS like intellisense without all the heavy lifting and slowness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Code can't be compile checked, but you have VS for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A fast and flexible Text Editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I love that Visual Studio Code is free, fast and very powerful. Microsoft have done a great job of creating a solid text editor in which I can be super productive. The embedded terminals and debugging features make it so easy to be kicking off tools and debugging your code without switching context. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Very little in all honesty. I know some people say it's slow, but it really isn't for the average web developer. I think if you're editing huge files then it may be slow, but it's not really designed for continually editing large files like that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Huge list of extensions that apply to any language

- Integrated Git makes version control much easier

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

- A bit of a learning curve when modifying certain settings since it's all JSON based

- Integrated console can be buggy at times

- The native Git integration does not allow for adding remote repositories so they must be added through Git outside of VSCode Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

" An excellent tool for the development of interpreted and compiled language."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like the most about this development environment is the minimalism that it is, since it provides a powerful and at the same time understandable platform for large and small projects.

allows integration with servers such as node.js, to facilitate the development and deployment of our projects.

I like that it has a large amount of plugin that somehow expand the functionalities of the environment to make it much more complete but without forcing you to install them if it is not necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I do not like that sometimes the environment gets dirty and gives unknown errors and the only way to repair them is by restarting the environment.

It can improve the speed of the environment and the integration with different platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
