"VS Code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It's very easy to add packages to make coding easier and more customizable. I like being able to split screens easily. Fun colors to choose from in themes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It's not very user friendly to resolve merge conflicts in this text editor. I tend to open up another editor to resolve merge conflicts. Also I wish there was a target button that you could click to see where the file you are in is located in the file structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best editor for Front-End developers "
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Of the different editors that I have used throughout my career this has become my favorite, it is a free and multiplatform editor, supporting us in extensions can be used with multiple programming languages, It has an advanced code debugger that It allows to know all the problems and errors in real time, helping us to identify these problems and solve them, one of the features that I like the most is that it has an intelisense technology that allows us to intelligently complete the code, as if it were an IDE. , is also integrated with GIT and has its own terminal which allows us to accelerate our work, it is also highly configurable through files in Json. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

it works just as I like it, it has a high learning curve to learn how to configure it and to learn how to use the debugger Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VS Code is an amazing text editor for your development needs"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

- Highly customizable (if you need something, there is an extension for it)

- Constant support by Microsoft, knowing that MS is backing the editor with monthly updates and fixes makes me more comfortable of the fact that I can use VSCode within my production tooling

- Themes!!! I can make VSCode look and feel exactly how I want

- Simplicity, it is super easy to use and very quick to pick up (the search functionality for commands and files is super awesome) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

- I wish there was a way to save different configuration for different workflow (i.e. on for web development, one for python) so that I don't have to setup my work environment when I want to switch to a new project within the same stack

- Every couple of months, VSCode will just completely bring my system to a halt, and I'll have to relaunch it to make everything go back to normal (I also never close VSCode and always have it running) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Tool for Any situation"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VSCode is one of the best, if not the best free IDE available. It's easy to set-up, easy to use and is filled with awesome plugins to help you code in any available language. You can customize it to suit all your needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Even supporting almost any language, you have to install a dozen of plug-ins to make the environment a happy place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My favorite code editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It is compatible with a wide range of programming languages, has great debuggers, super responsive autocomplete, tons of available add-ins (like Python linters and code beatifying tools), and it has a built in terminal Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Honestly can't think of anything, it's my go-to for software development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best free IDE with many great features"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like the functionality it offers so much for free software. Also the customization is pretty neat, I enjoy the extensions as you can download them and use them all in the same time. Earlier when i was a newbie I was used to use WebStorm for HTML, and Eclipse for Java. As for now you can use them all in the same IDE, doing the same help as WebStorm and Eclipse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Maybe one thing that i don't like is the way update works on Linux Mint, as you need to download the file and install it by yourself, instead of updating by it self. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Review of Microsoft Visual Studio"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like the ability of visual studio to work with different programming languages and file types. There are plugins available for each programming language which extends the functionality of the text editor. Visual Studio code also provides a seamless integration with git. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The keyboard shortcuts are confusing and limiting. As a software developer, the key to getting shit done is being familiar with the keyboard shortcut which would allow you to efficiently switch between different files, functions, and classes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Light weight yet powerful IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio is an amazing IDE and software development tool. You can install appropriate tools and plugins to support almost all the programming languages available in the market. You can write code, test it, and run it, all using very simple steps and command. Terminal window provides flexible command line options, Unlike eclipse, it does not consume too much RAM and CPU, hence runs very efficiently even for a moderately powered system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

No major cons ever experienced, it is a must have kind of tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
