"Cross platform an a lot number of extensions"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The first thing I like is the avaiabilty of the tool on the main operating systems. When you launch Visual Studio Code, you can appreciate the speed, the essential and powerful IDE while you write code, thanks to a lot of extensions. I have used it to write Angular JS application and it's very powerful. Congratulations to Microsoft team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The wide number of extensions may be a little confused. Sometimes, when I look for an extension using key words, it's shown more of it and it's not easy to find the one I need. Will be very useful categorized better the extensions to help the developer to choose the right one Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy way to learn C++ coding"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It was really easy to navigate around visual studio. As a first time coding learner, I didn’t have to waste time on trying to learn how to use it. Visual studio wasn’t also really informative on when my code had an error and pointed out which part needed to be fixed. Which is really helpful for first time coders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There wasn’t much problems when I used visual studio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

How much I need to use my mouse rather than keyboard to navigate. Notifications that can't be turned off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An IDE that can (almost) do anything"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The IDE is quite light( not as light as Sublime, but not as heavy as the others). The IDE itself doesn't come with all the bells and whistles of Fancy and heavy IDEs like autocomplete and other features, but the best part about Visual Studio Code is that there is an active community that churns out extensions. And the extensions are what make Visual Studio Code standout!

And it is available on the three major OS platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Now, there comes some extensions that have that irritatingly recurrent bug, and they tend to go unfixed for a pretty long amount of time.

Sometimes there are too many iterations of the same extension, and unless viewed properly we might just download the wrong one.

So if only Visual Studio could verify and put the most used(or trusted) extensions with some sort of marking, it could make a lot of difference for the beginners. Else, it just takes a hell lot of time to set up the environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent code editor without project requirement"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like that Visual Studio Code lets me work on a project without creating a project database file. Netbeans would require a project database file, which took extra disk space and had to be stored somewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It gets updated very often which takes a few minutes off my day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code - Source code editor with wonderful functions"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It is a very good and intelligent editor because it has an excellent autocomplete which allows me to write my code faster, in addition, the debugging is very novel, since it is done directly from the editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It does not support many programming languages, it also has no FTP options, and I can say that it consumes a good amount of RAM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
