"A relatively lightweight Microsoft publisher"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

With Visual studio code, I can encode my projects more productively, since it has a real-time debugger and also allows me to split the screen to open several files, the other advantage of this editor is that I can download add-ons in a way Very easy and without the need for difficult configurations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

At the beginning it was difficult for me to configure the code debugger as other tools of this editor, also keep in mind that, when installing certain add-ons and functions I can become slower. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IDE on the market at the moment"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I previously used Brackets or Sublime Code but fell in love with Visual Studio Code. The editor makes the workflow so much easier and I love the integrated terminal so I don't always have to switch windows. There are loads of extensions and the customization possibilities are sheer endless. I must say, though, that I'm a self-taught coder and don't work professionally in software development. I use VS Code for side projects with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP & Node.js. The settings.json is addictive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There isn't much that I dislike. Love the simplicity and the ease of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A powerful text Editor- and much more"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio has an in built terminal which makes testing applications a breeze. Simply browse to the file you want to run and that's it. Visual studio also provides wonderful worskspace tracking system and integrates seamlessly with version control systems like git and GitHub. 3rd party dependencies and languages can also be easily installed to make programming feel more natural Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio code does not provide an auto save features and this can get very annoying if the app crashes. And if they can simplify their keyboard shortcuts it would make the app easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Integrated terminal just makes things so much cleaner"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like best that Microsoft Visual Studio Code has a Terminal built in, which makes it so much cleaner, as I don't have to Alt+Tab between command line windows as I am working on a project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I really have nothing bad to say about Visual Studio Code. It is a great tool that Microsoft has released free of charge, and it really does promote a positive image for Microsoft. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Surprisingly Lightweight Code Editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like that Visual Studio Code is surprisingly lightweight and efficient, with all the features I need in a code editor (and more) yet it still doesn't use many resources, keeping my computer fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I haven't found anything to dislike, except perhaps the update process that requires a restart, but that is the tiniest of issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code, just awesome."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I have been programming for many years, even before graduating and finding a job, and I have tried many code or IDE editors, for a long time it was constantly changing until this publisher was tested when they finally released it for Linux.

Nothing else open it for the first time surprised me visually beautiful of its theme and sources, this is something that unfortunately in Linux is not seen often, applications with UX / UI updated and beautiful.

Another thing that I liked was the way to implement VScode Git, very simple but with all the options I needed to use. Technically the application behaves very stable in general, except for some other crasheo that I have suffered when opening large projects.

Finally, the application has a great rhythm of updates to add new features or correct bugs which is appreciated compared to others that update very slowly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Honestly the application itself as offered by Microsoft seems perfect but can be improved in the following aspects:

- Should offer support for more programming languages by default, or at least the best known.

- Greater quality control over the plugins offered by the community, I had to try several plugins so that VScode supports php autocompletion correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
