"A good discovery of a Microsoft tool"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is a light IDE which makes it faster than other ones but still powerful. Also, the integration of versioning is effective, it's the best to simplify to fix pull request conflicts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Auto-completion feature is not fully relevant compared to Jetbrains IDE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Why VSCode is the best on the market at this moment ?"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

When it comes to using a code editor, there are a number of things you can judge it on such as performance, stability, looks, feel and its extensibility. VSCode incorporates all this features, in a simple application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Performance could increase, even this isn't the main concern, but in some moments just gets blocked and nothing more you can do except restart it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great IDE, but needs a few things more to be a perfect IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Overall, I like the ease of use that this IDE gives. It is clean, well designed in terms of the UI. The themes are great, they really look amazing on Mac. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There are a couple of things that I dislike overall about this IDE. The one thing that is a deal breaker is the the file structure. The file structure seems broken, it never shows a consistent path, or shows other file directories NOT associated with the current project on the IDE. Another thing, for Web based work, like HTML, wish it has some sort of "View in Web" option like Sublime text. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Source code editor with excellent built-in features"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I have been using this editor for a while and it is very good, it has very good features, its interface is easy to use, it has a very innovative horizontal menu with all its tools, it also has the option to connect with the Git repositories directly without having to download additional add-ons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes it does not find the errors quickly, so I have to save the file to be able to notice the errors in the syntax, also depending on the size of the project this editor can become very slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the best source code editors"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like the most is that it is a free product from Microsoft, it has a simple interface, it is easy to use, it integrates Git since it is also an option I use a lot to save my versions. It is compatible with many languages, in this case, the ones I use are Python or Java. It is a lightweight and clean code editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Since I've been using it, there's nothing I dislike, but sometimes I've had errors that have been resolved by restarting the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A light and practical development environment to encode what you want."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It has a plugin store in the same editor, you can also configure your debugger to find the errors of the programming language you want, something I like about this code editor is its interface since it is very compact and has all the tools I need for the development of applications and web pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The configurations of certain tools are somewhat complex, in addition to executing projects that have a large number of files this becomes somewhat slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Surprisingly nice code editor from Microsoft"

Well used, so easy to find answers to questions on google. Provides a lot of plugins to cover pretty much any task you need Visual Studio Code to perform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Not many downsides actually, which is surprising for a Microsoft product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing Editor for Developers"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Built by Microsoft, it comes with tons of default features that will make coding really easy, it has support for a very wide variety of languages natively and if the language you are using is not supported by default, chances are that there's an extension on the marketplace adding the support to it.

The extension marketplace has thousands of it, making the editor very customizable, you can turn on and off the extensions whenever you want, and each extension is customizable as well, making one editor sufficient to support almost all languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Being an electron app, you will see peaks of resource usage. Also since it's a text editor with extensions for a wide variety of languages, if you are looking for a complete IDE for one specific language, it will lack some features against tools like Visual Studio for C,C++ and C#, IntelliJ for Java or PyCharm for Python, that are IDE's specifically built for a language.
