"Powerful tool for Web Developers"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It's easy to use , has lot of extensions and has a very good interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Git build-in extension isn't so clear , and sometimes you'll get/not get tag closure if using Angular wrappers and similiar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best text editor in recent years"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The speed of everything. The app is extremely optimised and so things like navigating files and folders, and especially search, are incredibly fast. I am able to jump around my code via symbols or filenames with absolute ease.

The customisability is also very good. If you can think of it, there is probably already an extension for it. I am able to speed up my workflow by plugging in extensions that shortcut laborious tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes the app fails to update. I'll click Install Update and it'll restart, but then give me an error message. It doesn't happen every time, but enough that sometimes I go weeks without updating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The ideal IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio code and it’s many extensions just strip programming back to the basics and let’s you enjoy it again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The stripped back nature of it makes a lot of setup has to be done in the terminal which sometimes can be tricky for those new to programming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It's really fast, indexing is quick, language support, etc...

It's plugin ecosystem is great, with multiple language support, automation plugins, code completion, etc...

We recently started using its debugger, and it really improved the way we analyze and run TS apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I honestly don't dislike anything about this IDE, maybe only Microsoft :p Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code best source-code editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VS Code is faster that is the best part of this code editor. From VS code I can debug my code as well as format my code. By IntelliSense of JavaScript and TypeScript, it provides me hint and autosuggestion. VS Code provides me different kind of Color theme that is the coolest part. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

lack of built-in support for some languages so needs to install a plug-in for Fix. and sometimes plugin installation make Freeze vs code. Keyboard shortcuts are limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Awesome!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It's a very fast application compared to Visual Studio for example. To develop Web Applications is way better, considering that those applications are simpler and do not require a lot of features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The intellisense is not the best, and when in a file html wrapped in a script tag, the collapse for the html does not work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Long time Dreamweaver user now converted to Visual Studio Code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Integration with various 3rd party plugins and extensions that allows for a one shop IDE, allowing integration with Cloud providers, tech stacks, and easy of use in peer-programming via LiveShare extension. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

No drawbacks that I have encountered thus far that would turn me off of VS Code. Provides all the functionality and tools required for my devs and devOps team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best tool that every developer should use."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

In my work I have developed a wide variety of websites, and I have constantly used different code editors, but I currently consider Visual Studio Code to be the best of all.

It is light and easy to use, we can install a wide variety of extensions that greatly improve the editing of code, its interface is nice and allows the configuration of split screen that allows us to review and correct errors in our code.

Another of its great advantages is the visualization of the execution through the terminal console, on the other hand we can integrate our work with GitHub which I think is great.

With Visual Studio Code our code looks much more organized and the code writing is more fluid so we can develop our projects faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I really do not have much to say against this great code editor, for beginning users it can be a bit overwhelming because at first glance it does not look so intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VS Code Review"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like a lot of the plug ins that are available that help automate the process, clean code, run code, and make it a workspace where you can get everything done efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I don't like some of the defaults, like autofilling. It seems complicated to workout and can be frustrating. All default settings should be no aids, no plugins activated, just a simple text-based editing mode. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It's perfect for web development"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It is totally free and is ideal for web development although it is also excellent for programming desktop applications. The preset functions are more than enough to start any type of project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It's a bit heavy, so I recommend having good ram memory. The interface is simple but that can be solved by installing visual themes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
