"Best Free Code Editor for JavaScript"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Free and open-source. Backed and supported by a large company (Microsoft). The issues are actively looked at by the developers. Mature. A lot of extensions available. Written in JavaScript (TypeScript) so it's easy for anyone to extend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Support is less mature (although still decent) for languages other than JavaScript. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Awesome Editor for any web developer"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I'm using visual studio editor since 2017 and its very light weight IDE that i haven't seen before with more Extension. It provides huge collection of Extension. Basically you can call it ALL IN ONE Editor.

The best thing is that you can change the appearance of the IDE with your preference and its look and feel is awesome.

There is one more feature like GIT, It is the only one light weight editor that consist of Extension, GIT, Terminal (Command line interface) and debugging tool. No need of other command line interface to execute any command. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There is nothing to dislike but one thing that need improvement on that, while committing code through IDE its asking multiple time credential to commit the changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Everything You Need In One Place"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like the easy installation of a hundred useful plugins for any flavor, e.g.: Javascript, HTML, CSS, Java, Maven, Reach, SQL, EDI, etc. It is amazing the number of plugins available that you can find, and beyond that it is more incredible how easy the installation it is, you just need to look for the plugin (you will find more than 1 really good for the same purpose) and then select the one fits your requirements, click on Install, and Reload the VSCode, and voilà, you're good to go. In my opinion, is one of the must-have piece of software that anybody no matter its profession must have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

To be honest, there is nothing that dislikes me so much, I would go with the customization, I would like that might have more UI options instead of editing the configuration file, but beyond that, it is perfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Coding Everything "
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like most about visual studio code are the facilities and tricks that it offers to speed up the programming process in any language. Adding to this is free. All this entails a fairly agile method for navigation between computers and an entire store of extensions available to improve the user experience when developing any software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I believe that some things can improve at the level of operation in the handling of folders. Personally, I got a little used to getting used to that solution explorer method. I understand that you should add by default a modeling of both XAML and HTML to observe the design of what was stated in the layout languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great multi-platform editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I love how you're able to setup Visual Studio Code for multiple platforms, it makes integrating programs with other languages so much easier. I have a java program interacting with python a sql code, VS Code gives you the ability to easily run and debug between languages. It's just nice to open a file in the same editor and it recognise what language you're using. There also a decent amount of add-ons/extensions that are really useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It's not a fully fledged IDE, well at least I find it hard to use it for much larger projects. For example I'm currently working on a side project which is heavily involves C# so I'm using a full C# IDE which makes things just a little bit easier than VS Code. Some environments are a little difficult to initially setup, but great once they are setup correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IDE for Interactive Design"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It Supports multiple programming languages so i don't need to use separate IDE for different Programming languages and It has inbuilt GIT Integration. so its very easy for us to commit Code easily to GIT. It is simple to use and while writing the code we can easily identify the each line of code. Because, each code has colorful syntax for understating the useful code like method definition and etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Its not showing proper and helpful suggestion for JavaScript and JavaScript based Programming languages. I just started working on React Js and I don't know Js too very well, so in that i need a smart IDE which can help me in identifying error if any occurs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Review for Visual Studio Code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

One best thing about Visual studio Code is delightfully light and fast code editor which enables me to code without worrying much about my system environment and I can spend more time writing the quality code.

Since, it also has the feature of IntelliSense code completion feature it makes very easy to write angular or c# code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There is no major drawback as such however one thing I would like to point out is that Visual Studio Code lacks the features of a full fledged IDE (Integrated Development Environment) and is best suited for the front end development only . However looking at the advantages it have as a text editor the disadvantage can be easily ignored. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good Things; Small Packages"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I've used Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code. In Visual Studio, the designers and developers tried to think of everything which is great for large, complex projects. Visual Studio Code is excellent because it's lightweight and you add what you need when you need it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The constant update of extensions can make it tricky to use for projects that make use of a lot of outside resources. The console output is also a little clunky. For example, you can clear the screen with a command, but it doesn't really clear - it just moves the cursor to the very top of the console pane. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
