"A code editor for all things"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

One of the best features about using Visual Studio Code is its extensibility. With the various plugins, you can move from doing JavaScript to XML to JSON to even ColdFusion or ASP.NET. Autocomplete makes coding effortlessly and the different syntax checkers that are available help to keep your code clean. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes when using various plugins, Visual Studio Code can stall. It does not seem to be an issue with VS Code itself, but rather the way the plugins are implemented. For instance, I use Gulp and Grunt quite extensively, but either one of those running processes can cause VS Code to freeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple IDE with lots of great feature."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Works as charm light-weighted development IDE. Also, it's very easy to set up and update in the preferences window. It has support Windows, Linux, and macOS. It includes support for debugging, embedded Git control and GitHub, syntax highlighting, intelligent code completion, snippets, and code refactoring. Visual Studio Code has become so powerful that maybe, you can do everything that supports your development workflow without leaving it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I would REALLY love to use this plugin, but unfortunately, it doesn't work in Unity 2018.2 on Windows. Like a fine wine, this asset has only gotten better with age. I have already used it in 5 different projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best code editor I have ever tried"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I dare say that Visual Studio Code is the perfect code editor. Being the main tool a developer has, it is essential to make a good choice. That's what I've achieved here. It supports a multitude of programming languages and includes a large number of utilities. Those that don't come built-in can be downloaded as extensions from a very comprehensive catalog. Right off the bat, it has very good options, such as syntax highlighting, customizable keys, checking for correct bracket closure, guide lines to keep the code organized, etc. The community it has is very large, so the extensions are always functional and up to date with what is needed. Autocomplete, search, and text replacement are very well implemented and intuitive to use once you know them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It consumes a lot of resources when the necessary extensions are being installed according to what is going to be used. It requires a somewhat powerful machine to make the most of Visual Studio Code. It does not have a test server as soon as it is installed, unlike other editors, so you have to look for it in the extension catalog. A section explaining all the capabilities of the editor is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best multiplatform coding and development tool that provides speed and performance."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like VS Code very much and it is my favorite editor because of the wide range of functionalities it offers with a multitude of available programming languages, its most powerful effect is to organize the project file in a hierarchical way so that it is easy to see in detail, with a well-achieved graphical user interface, Fast, lightweight, with integrated tools, is cross-platform so you can use it with your preferred environment; It is open source with a very good license for internal development purposes, which is completely what I do. In short it can be summarized that it is one of the best tools to work in the area of development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

What I dislike about VS Code is that according to my experience of use it never saves the size of the windows beyond the current session, so every time I run it I must resize it to my desired preference and I would also like it to have a better way to manage multiple pages, files and rest classes there is nothing more of importance that I dislike. "fast and lightweight with visual code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

visual code is a very lightweight integrative development environment that will enable fast source code creation for small and big projects. this SIMPLE AND LIGHT IDE support a big number of languages for example python, JavaScript, html, css and many others. this robust nature of VSCODE will increase the level of productivity of any developer since one doesn't have to switch from one IDE to another for the same project. It checks syntax by highlighting it, highlights the start and end of the opening and closing brackets, auto-indentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

it has a very annoying intellisence error that keeps poping up all the time when working. this Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Flexible IDE to Manage your Projects"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I love how Flexible Visual Studio Code is when it comes to handling your own projects. You are freely able to customize it with it's wide range of extensions that makes your job alot easier. For instance, you can add on code snippets so you don't have to type all the code but type in a few keys to produce the same results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I dislike that Visual Studio Code is heavy on RAM depending on which extensions you use. If you end up using to many your Extension Host will crash resulting in you having to restart the entire application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Incredibly Powerful and Extensible Editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Most modern applications nowadays are electron-based, Visual Studio code is no exception. This brings a nice, fresh look that we developers crave. Looks matter when you work all day with an application. I have tried Atom, Sublime, Brackets, and can say without a doubt Visual Studio Code has risen to the level. Some the things I like are their remote-oriented extensions, such as the SSH connections, docker integration, all available through their command palette. It has allowed me to consolidate all my web/docker development. Oh, and if you have a chance to test LiveShare with other developers, it will blow your mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Some implementations, especially the docker related ones require a bit configuration, sometimes more than I am willing to spend time on. Emmet is a powerful tool which is supported, but some Emmet-dependent extensions are not properly implemented by the editor. One example of this is some of the Bulma and Laravel snippets. "Fantastic Development Environment"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like the intuitive color-coding, directory navigation tools, and speed. Plus I love the fact that it's free! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes the auto-complete features are a little too sensitive, so every once in a while when I'm typing quickly, I end up with an auto-completed class name or variable type instead of the one I was typing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
