Remote coding is super reliable and useful it is amazing when remote working with your team.

Ability and ease of adding themes to change text and editor colours.

Integrated plugins for source control and package management.

Community and open source is great.

Testing features and shortcuts are great to match popular ide's.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Some language plugins do not include auto-importing which can be a huge pain. I.e. Kotlin.

Menu to select plugin functions is difficult to navigate in the top bar.

It is difficult to select features to turn off when installed, i.e. turn off auto formatting on save by ts lint. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code: Best feature pack Code Editor I have ever used"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I have been using VS Code for last 4 years for programming and in my opinion VS Code is the ultimate tool which has improved my productivity a lot. Main Advantage for me using VS Code is the in-built networking terminal through which I can host the server and work on that without any other 3rd party plugins. Also, VS code has many inbuilt features which otherwise I would have to download separately.

VS code is the best tool to use for any programming language-specific code editor and you will definitely be surprised by its performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There are not any major flows I have come across till now using VS code heavily. There are sometimes, troubles making plugin enable for the global settings for some plugins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

""VISUAL STUDIO CODE" The professional, multi-purpose, solid and functional code editor ""
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like about this well-achieved tool is that it has an endless number of extensions and language support packages so that our coding is as efficient and professional as possible, integrates the console with tabs in the editor, and provides a system of Flexible workspace for project directories, configurations, among others. It is definitely a very light editor but with a very great potential ,, the debugging tool is amazing and supports many programming languages such as, JavaScript, PHP, Json, and Python. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

What disgusts me is that perhaps because of its many features, visual studio code consumes a lot of RAM sometimes to the point of causing our computer to hang, I also think that keyboard shortcuts could be better since sometimes they don't make much sense , and finally Ubuntu support is not very good does not work properly. "A code editor for all things"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

One of the best features about using Visual Studio Code is its extensibility. With the various plugins, you can move from doing JavaScript to XML to JSON to even ColdFusion or ASP.NET. Autocomplete makes coding effortlessly and the different syntax checkers that are available help to keep your code clean. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes when using various plugins, Visual Studio Code can stall. It does not seem to be an issue with VS Code itself, but rather the way the plugins are implemented. For instance, I use Gulp and Grunt quite extensively, but either one of those running processes can cause VS Code to freeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple IDE with lots of great feature."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Works as charm light-weighted development IDE. Also, it's very easy to set up and update in the preferences window. It has support Windows, Linux, and macOS. It includes support for debugging, embedded Git control and GitHub, syntax highlighting, intelligent code completion, snippets, and code refactoring. Visual Studio Code has become so powerful that maybe, you can do everything that supports your development workflow without leaving it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I would REALLY love to use this plugin, but unfortunately, it doesn't work in Unity 2018.2 on Windows. Like a fine wine, this asset has only gotten better with age. I have already used it in 5 different projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best code editor I have ever tried"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I dare say that Visual Studio Code is the perfect code editor. Being the main tool a developer has, it is essential to make a good choice. That's what I've achieved here. It supports a multitude of programming languages and includes a large number of utilities. Those that don't come built-in can be downloaded as extensions from a very comprehensive catalog. Right off the bat, it has very good options, such as syntax highlighting, customizable keys, checking for correct bracket closure, guide lines to keep the code organized, etc. The community it has is very large, so the extensions are always functional and up to date with what is needed. Autocomplete, search, and text replacement are very well implemented and intuitive to use once you know them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It consumes a lot of resources when the necessary extensions are being installed according to what is going to be used. It requires a somewhat powerful machine to make the most of Visual Studio Code. It does not have a test server as soon as it is installed, unlike other editors, so you have to look for it in the extension catalog. A section explaining all the capabilities of the editor is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
