"Visual Studio Review"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The best thing about the visual studio editor is its user-friendly interface, lightweight, and ease to use. I just love the dark theme of VS code. Apart from this, there are plenty of extensions we can use with the VS code which makes development easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Coding platform"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The best thing I like about Visual Studio Code is that it has a user-friendly environment and now it can support multiple languages which are very helpful to new coders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The least helpful thing about Visual Studio Code is that the installation of frameworks is not so easy in which we faced some technical issues while working on outsourcing projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Writing Code is Easier Than Ever"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VS Code is one step solution to all my development needs. I have worked with different languages and technologies and never faced an issue integrating them with VS Code or executing them in this IDE. The best feature that VS Code provides is the range of different extensions which serve all the functions- making the code prettier, cleaning up redundant code, support for HTML tags, Reactjs templates, etc. In conventional and lightweight IDEs, using a separate terminal to run the application and executing commands used to be troublesome, but for that too, VS Code provides an integrated terminal, or 'Powershell' as they like to call it. Recently an in-built postman extension was released, and I love it. These features really set the platform apart from others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There are only a few things that I disliked. VS Code is heavy software that tends to take a lot of disk space. In a good computer, this might not be a big issue, but on weaker ones, this causes trouble, and the initial booting time increases. All the different features and settings are a little overwhelming to start with, but with a little more ellaborate tutorials and guidance, that shouldn't be a big issue. "VS Code Review"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I honestly prefer VS Code over the rest of IDEs due to its lightweight versatility. I am a coder in the workplace and as a hobbyist, this means that from time to time I would work on many different projects and scripts of various programming languages and when I need to quickly see something in a file, I won't have to wait too long to get it since VS Code is so quick to open. Additionally, I really appreciate the number of community extensions that are available and the multitude of opportunities that are there for everyone to try and create their own plugins and applications. What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I dislike the fact that the Java support for any complex multi-component Java project is lacking. In this case, I am forced to use IntelliJ so as to get the full array of features for Java projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Open Source IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Microsoft has made a tremendous contribution by providing Visual Studio Code. Its modular approach helps the development faster. IDE is very lightweight and extensively configurable making it the best IDE available in the market. Moreover making it open source helped a lot of teams to reduce their operational costs in developing an application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I haven't found any issue till now. even if there are small bugs, VS code support team provides updates and patches very frequently fixing most of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightweight but very powerful"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The ability to quickly load up VSCode and just get up and running quickly. The shortcuts are very intuitive and the integration with git is excellent and easy to use. However, the live share is perhaps the most useful feature that I have used (especially during remote times where we have to pair from home!) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

As it is very lightweight, I find that for build heavy development (e.g. Java, Kotlin) it can be a bit difficult to use something like VSCode. I love it for front end development but debugging can be a challenge (setting up a remote debugger is a bit more involved) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Next Gen Text Editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The modularity of the text editor. we can add new components and increase our efficiency. The User Interface is easy to use and is very clear which is a must for text editing tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The auto-updating. I have a metered connection and it automatically updates itself and does not give an option to disallow it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VScode. The best, lightweight yet powerful extensible text editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The best thing is that it is a lightweight text editor unlike some of the beefy IDEs. However, that does not mean it is not powerful. Extensions make it very powerful. I use it for writing JS/TS code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Nothing that I can think of. It works well for most of the use cases. Otherwise there are enough and more extensions. Extensions make it very much capable of being what you want it to be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
