## Paddle Reviews
 ### 1. Great payment processor that takes care of everything.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eldar G. | Online Educator, Web Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Easy integration of the payment widgets (including the inline checkout experience) is lovely. It makes it possible for our business to concentrate on producing high-quality products instead of worrying about payments and taxes. I have been using Paddle to run my online business for the past four years.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Not many, to be honest. Sometimes the response time for support requests can be a bit longer than ideal. Not critical, and the issues are always resolved at the end of the day, so not too bad. Although I can't say everything was always perfect (I had some temporary issues with payouts to my country), the team at Paddle got to the bottom of the problem and ultimately fixed everything for me. Highly recommend them!

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle takes care of everything related to accepting payments, collecting the VAT in different countries, and sending the payouts with revenue (usually on time).

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Hi Eldar,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re happy to hear we have been a good partner for your payments infrastructure for the past 4 years. We appreciate your kind words!

In regards to our support times, we are working on improving response times and strive to respond as quickly as possible.

Thanks,
Paddle team

 ### 2. Seamless experience with Paddle

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abzal A. | Founder/software developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

I am using Paddle for ContactInBio and ManyBio, and I am planning to add many more projects. Been using it for many years and am super happy with how stress-free the onboarding process was. Paddle team was super helpful, and API documentation was written very well and integrated quickly with the website. Paddle handles payments, email notifications, payouts and taxes from subscription payments of customers worldwide, which helps me focus on building the product.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Onboarding might take some time, but it is worth it! It would be awesome if the pricing per transaction could be reduced, but what they offer now isn't that bad considering the amount of work they have to do.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves the issue of accepting payments worldwide for a SaaS startup without worrying about taxes and compliance in each country payments received from. Processes payments, refunds and payout for my startups.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience, Abzal. We're thrilled to hear that you've been using Paddle for many years and are satisfied with how stress-free the onboarding process was.

At Paddle, we take pride in handling payments, email notifications, payouts, and taxes from subscription payments for customers worldwide, so they can focus on building their products. While we understand your suggestion to reduce the pricing per transaction, we are confident that our pricing is reflective of the value we provide. As a Merchant of Record (MoR), Paddle takes on the responsibility of handling all fraud and compliance on behalf of our customers, including sales tax remittance. We look forward to supporting you as you continue to grow and start new projects!

 ### 3. Best Payment Solution for SAAS Businesses & Recurring Payments solution.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suraj S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

I used PayPal, Stripe & other Payment Gateways as well as Fastspring, but the main problem with them was lots of problems faced like Limits & chargeback issues, Here we face too, but Paddle handle's them without risk of getting restricted to accept payments & Also I like the Profitwell Integration after getting familiar with all the charts & Data, I got to know there's lots of problems why the customer's are not making payments & why they are cancelling the subscriptions, All metrics are 100% accurate & It helps to reduce churn.

Thanks Paddle team to provide us best service's & support also..

I'm further interested for AliPay beta Access & Waiting for it's full release.

Thanks for reading..

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Not at all, i'm fully satisfied & happy with the services.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business Invoices & Recurring payments handling was my main problems solved by paddle.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Hi Suraj,

Thank you for the amazing review. We're thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with Paddle and that you are making good use of out ProfitWell metrics integration.

We are grateful for your kind words and keep a close eye on our upcoming product launches for new feature launches.

Thanks,
Paddle team

 ### 4. Paddle is essential for our business!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marty R. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

My favourite thing about Paddle is the fact that they collection localised VAT on your behalf, saving you plenty of money on accountants and a lot more admin work when it comes to keeping track of VAT records.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The only downside I can think of with Paddle now is the fact they they turned off their affiliate features for new merchants. I know people who use Paddle from back in the day and they are still using their affiliate features, but we can't access them because we joined the platform later.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle makes SaaS sales and subscription billing a breeze. Integration is simple, the checkout design and features are great and the interface is very simple yet intuitive. This allows us to spend more of our time attracting users and building a great product, as Paddle are taking care of the rest.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Thanks for your comments, Marty. It’s amazing to hear we’re essential for your business and that we can help save you costs so you can focus on your growth.

Near the end of last year, we communicated the decision to terminate Paddle’s Affiliates and Split Funds features in early 2023. We appreciate that businesses have been drawing value from these features, so we worked closely with some third-party affiliate platforms (Rewardful and FirstPromoter) to ensure easy integration with Paddle.

Thanks,
Paddle team

 ### 5. Solved My Payment Gateway Needs!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samar J. | Web Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Been using it for almost 1.5 years now and hope to use it forever, here are the best things I like about Paddle:

- Easy to Understand Dashboard.
- Handles All my Payment Needs (By Accepting Credit/Debit cards & PayPal).
- Payouts via Payoneer has to be the main feature for me.
- Compared to Stripe (Which is also not available in my Country) I think Paddle is much easier to understand & use.
- And a lot more I can't remember as of now 😅

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Customer Support is not that great, sometimes they take a few days to get back to you! Could be improved!

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle helps me accept Payments from Customers so damn easily and the Checkout is also so smooth.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Hi Samar, we’re glad to hear that you find our dashboard easy to understand and appreciate our ability to handle all your payment needs, including credit/debit card and PayPal acceptance.

We appreciate your feedback regarding our customer support and apologize for any delays in response time you may have experienced - our Support teams are working on processes to improve this.

 ### 6. The best for SaaS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean T. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

You save us a lot of time on taxes. We also really like the reporting tool, ProfitWell.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

It would be nice if we could send automated emails to "Risk" signal customers (The Risk Signal in Profitwell). I know A LOT of Paddle Customers would love this feature. In other words, we could "head customers off at the pass".

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle automatically handles taxes for us which is a big win!

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Hi Sean, thank you for taking the time to write a review.

We are pleased to hear that you are happy with Paddle and how we help to save you time on your taxes. As a software business built for SaaS companies, it's important to us that we help drive operational efficiencies for our customers.

Thank you for the feedback on ProfitWell Metrics too, it sounds like you enjoy using the tool. We have shared your feedback on the product improvement suggestion around automated emails to Risk. Whilst we can't make promises that this will be implemented, our product team will certainly factor this into their roadmap discussions. Make sure you keep an eye on our Changelog feed for important product updates.

 ### 7. Paddle allows us to focus entirely on our growth.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle allows us to focus entirely on our growth. In the beginning, it's like having an extra employee. And as you get bigger, it's like an extra team. What we like most: no billing headaches, support for multiple currencies, real-time dashboards, data exports, additional customer support for our clients, and transparency.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

However, there is a lot of room for improvement:
- The main dashboard does not allow us to separate new from existing customers. The coupon sales value in the main dashboard is just wrong if you have different currencies - we informed the team about this more than a year ago and nobody seems to care (even though it is one of the five big numbers in the main dashboard!).

- ProfitWell's data seems to be incorrect and customer support is very slow. Our MRR dropped about 8% overnight (which is not possible in the real world) and they cannot explain why. The churn stats do not match our data at all and the LTV stats are just plain wrong. Although the dashboards are promising, they are practically useless because we cannot trust their numbers.

- We miss the Alipay payments support for subscription models.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle helps us with online sales and also with some of our customer support. Real-time overview of online sales. Saves time on invoicing. Transparency and data exports for advanced analytics.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Hi, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We recently fixed a bug with VAT that led to an overall decrease in some accounts' MRR. We're happy to investigate and spend time with anyone who reaches out and provides more detail - we’re committed to making sure you can trust our data.

 ### 8. Paddle has been a true partner after we switched from Stripe

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle was easier to get started with, and requested all documents and verified our business and background etc before getting us enrolled. This was really appreciated since we first started with Stripe, and they ditched us after just a couple of months and without giving us any option to provide evidance and other documentation to prove our business information. This even made us loose revenue since we barely had less than a month to switch to another provider.

Paddle was much better since it allowed the Sales Tax computation as well and avoided us the hassle. The Invoicing was a killer feature now that we sell to many large enterprises.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

There are still improvements I'd like to see in Paddle - especially more clear transaction reports and support for certain states with invoicing. Paddle should also focus on helping customers avoid sales tax by prominently asking for business address and VAT information etc, since many of our customers missed it and we had to follow up. I do not enjoy the profitwell integration - at least yet.. I need simple statistics without complexity

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sales tax computation and processing /payment
Support for invoicing with large amounts from enterprise customers

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thank you for your feedback! We are glad to hear that our onboarding process was smooth for you and that you found our invoicing feature helpful. We appreciate your suggestions on improving our transaction reports and supporting certain states with invoicing - we’ll take your feedback into account as we continue to improve our platform.

Regarding the ProfitWell integration, we understand that it may not be everyone's preference, but please reach out if you need any support using our Metrics product.

 ### 9. Pretty good, though could use some improvement in flexibility and ease of subscription handling

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

They handle a lot of stuff out of the box, which makes international sales far easier. Taking responsibility for doing taxes right is the number one thing for us.

It also helps quite a bit that PayPal is one of the payment options they offer. Stripe has more localized payment options, but Paddle has enough payment options, and this was never an issue with our customers.

It handles retrying failed subscription payments far better than FastSpring, which we still use for our legacy customers.

Pricing is OK if you compare it to something like Stripe + a proper worldwide tax compliance solution.

Unlike Stripe and similar, you can sell through Paddle from pretty much anywhere in the world, which was the main reason that drove us to Paddle years ago, as we're based in Eastern Europe and couldn't open a Stripe account. But it's a pretty good SaaS billing solution, even if you're incorporated in a western country and could use Stripe.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Integration and API-wise, something like Stripe is far more flexible but also more complex to integrate into your app.

It seems to me they've raised a lot of investment over the last few years, but somehow I don't think a single $ of it went into improving the experience for Paddle SaaS vendors in terms of what you can do with the integration.

Invoices your customers get from Paddle are kind of crap.

Metered or usage-based subscription billing is not really possible. At least not easily and elegantly. It can be accomplished, but it is rather cumbersome and requires a lot of development on the vendor's end.

You, as a Paddle vendor, don't have much "power" to influence the subscriptions of your customers. For example, if your customer doesn't enter their tax ID when signing up with Paddle for their subscription, which is very easy to do as an option to do it is not exactly prominent on the payment form, your customer will get in touch with you to ask to have tax removed from their payments as they are a registered business in their country and shouldn't be paying tax in the first place, you then need to go through Paddle support to have them add tax ID to your customer's subscription.
If they invested more in those vendor-visible changes, we could have more options to configure the payment flow our customers go through, as, unlike Paddle, we know 100% of our customers will be businesses that always want to enter their tax ID to have tax removed from their payments. But since Paddle is more focused on optimizing the payment form for single sales to consumers and doesn't offer any payment form customization, situations like this are a relatively common occurrence.

Their dashboard for managing existing subscriptions and customers also leaves a lot of room for improvement when it comes to basic tasks.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle enables and simplifies SaaS subscription billing for us. It enables it because we can't use Stripe in our country, and going through local banks to charge credit cards of our western customers would be a severe pain point for a small organization like ours and would most likely result in a lot of failed payments as well.
It simplifies it because with Paddle we get a wire transfer from them once a month, and they handle all credit card or PayPal payments, retries, taxes, an occasional refund, etc. And our bookkeepers don't really care, or even need to know, about the details of who was charged precisely how much, and from which country they are, and who was refunded which payment, etc. Paddle being our reseller, legally speaking, really makes the whole thing a whole lot simpler for us, even compared to something like Stripe.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts on Paddle. We know that taxes can be a headache, so we're always happy to help make that process smoother for our customers.

We're excited to share that we have some big upgrades planned for our Subscription Billing functionality in 2023.

While billing model flexibility to support metered and usage-based billing is not a short-term deliverable, we do offer some integrations that can help meet those requirements in the meantime.

We also hear you on the need for improvements to the dashboard experience, and we're actively working on this.

Sales tax exemption is another area that we're aware needs improvement, and we're committed to making that process smoother for our users. We're actively working on this and hope to roll out improvements in the not-too-distant future.

We're happy to chat more about your requirements, so feel free to reach out.

Thanks,
Paddle team

 ### 10. Paddle = peace of mind.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

The fact that paddle makes my business VAT and Tax compliant for all sales across the globe. Before, I was looking into VAT MOSS for sales to Europe, which is a huge pain. When I came across Paddle, it made the whole situation easier. I don't even think about these issues anymore because Paddle makes it so easy.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Honestly, nothing. There's some little things I think could be improved, however:

1. Wordpress implementation - currently this has to be done via a third-party, which is the norm for these services. However, if Paddle could include an official wordpress plugin, I think that would improve the service and also increase the number of Paddle users.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The VAT/TAX issues that I mentioned previously. I save a considerable amount of time due to Paddle. Time that would be spent bookkeeping and filing VAT/TAX payments is now spent improving the business.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Thanks for letting us know what you think! It's great to hear that our service is making things easier for you when it comes to tax compliance.

As for your suggestion about having an official WordPress plugin, we really appreciate the feedback. We understand that it could be useful for some of our users. However, at the moment, we don't have plans to integrate with WordPress. Our team is currently working on improving our billing and subscription management features, which we believe will benefit our users even more.

Thanks,
Paddle team

 ### 11. Takes away the VAT worries

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve d. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

What really makes Paddle stand out if that it provides a payment service without the taxation worries. International VAT can be a nightmare, but not with Paddle!

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The VAT service comes with a price/percentage that may be a bit high depending on the revenue, but as a starting SAAS business it's just very easy to get started and to take the price into account.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that Paddle solves is VAT. I also have used Stripe before, which IMHO is the most powerful & flexible payment provider on the planet, but you would still have to deal with VAT. And that's exactly where Paddle excels.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Hey Steve, we're glad to hear that it has made things easier for your business.

Being an all-in-one platform means we provide a lot of value, not only handling tax, but also risk, payments, checkout, and subscription management. Getting this out of the box comes with a slightly higher price tag when compared with individual piecemeal solutions, but when they are added together we believe we work out cheaper and that the value we provide is worth it. We’ve dropped our compare page that goes into this.

 ### 12. Solid company to trust your app sales!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James G. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

It is easy to add the Paddle SDK to my Mac app and get security and in-app purchasing. Plus, I can trust that Paddle handles all server-side processing, billing, taxes, etc.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The only thing missing is SDK support for Mac Catalyst apps. I understand that the Apple AppStore rules block IAP in the store, but there's no reason we can't sell our Mac-Catalyst apps OUTSIDE of the App Store.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle empowers me to sell my Mac apps with builtin security directly from my website. This means I can focus on making fun apps and not setting up a bunch of server code.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thanks for sharing your positive experience with adding the Paddle SDK to your Mac app. We're glad to hear that it was easy to implement and that you appreciate the security and in-app purchasing capabilities that it provides. Our team takes pride in ensuring that Paddle handles all server-side processing, billing, taxes, and more so that our customers can focus on building great apps.

Thank you for your feedback on the lack of SDK support for Mac Catalyst apps. We understand that this is an important feature for some users, but unfortunately, native apps are no longer part of our focus, so this is not on our radar for any time in the near future. However, we appreciate your suggestion and will certainly consider it if our priorities change.

 ### 13. Expect some delays when setting up this Merchant of Record

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

When everything is set up and you have understood the limitations, it works quite well.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The setup time is quite long as they need to understand your business. Then there are several internal barries after you got an account. Domain needs to be approved and takes very long. Also the approval of product categories like SaaS can take some time. It took us literally 2 month after we could finally start using it.
It's not possible to add a fixed amount on a unit based pricing with the initial subscription. You need to do this manually (via API). For the subsequent payments you can use addons then.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Selling (almost) everywhere worldwide without the hassle of taxes in different countries. Moreover subscription management is solved as long as you do everything via Paddle.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> It's great to hear that you're happy with the product!

We understand how important it is for our customers to get up and running as soon as possible so they can start using our product. That's why our Risk and Support Operations team has been working hard to streamline the onboarding process. We're proud to say that we've made significant progress over the past months and have substantially reduced the domain verification time enabling our customers to start transacting much faster.

 ### 14. Very flexible payment provider that fitted our needs perfectly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vlad G. | Co-Founder and Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Ability to manage subscriptions and easily add payment modifiers to each subscription. Because we have usage-based subscriptions, this feature helps us charge an additional amount to all customers quickly and easily.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

It would be awesome if we could know exactly why some subscription charges failed without contacting Paddle support. That would speed up our response to any failed payment.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we run a business with usage-based subscription plans, the ability to add payment modifiers solved all the issues we had with a previous payment processor. Now we can quickly charge an additional amount to customers if needed.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Hi Vlad, thank you for taking the time to leave a review and provide feedback.

We're actively working on upgrading our Subscription Billing functionality, and we have some exciting improvements planned for 2023. Your feedback will definitely be taken into account as we continue to develop the platform!

 ### 15. Great for simple products and subscriptions. Not ideal for customisation and complicated products

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oliver S. | Director of Sales, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Super simple to create products, coupons and bundles. Handles all local currencies & taxes. Makes it quick and easy for the customer to purhcase the product with as few clicks as possible.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Lack of customisation and depth for products, pricing models, bundles or subscriptions. Difficult to manage subscriptions after purchase where adjustments are required.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Local currency transactions and the associated conversions and taxes which reduces the overhead of a finance head. Also enables easy pricing adjustments and coupon creation and redemption, making the customer purchase experience quick and simple.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thanks for your feedback on our platform, Oliver. We're actively improving our Subscription Billing APIs with some big upgrades planned for 2023. We appreciate your input and look forward to continuing to provide you with simple and reliable payment processing solutions!

 ### 16. Paddle makes it easy to sell services both for one time payments and regular subscriptions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Herbert P. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Handles credit card payments, taxes and subscription renewals. Very easy to integrate into applications and services. Straight forward handling of simple coupon codes and promotions.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

* No easy/direct support for affiliates. Requires 3rd party affiliate platform.
* It would have been nice to be able to create coupon codes for subscriptions which lead to one time payments and follow up payments of zero. But it was possible to implement this using products instead of subscriptions with coupon codes.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sell subscriptions to SaaS.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Herbert. We're glad to hear that Paddle's payment, tax, and subscription handling have been helpful. We're actively working on improving our Subscription Billing functionality, including discounting and coupons. As for affiliates, it's not a core focus for us, but we appreciate your input.

 ### 17. Great payment tool for B2B and B2C companies

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wojciech . | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

At the moment, we cannot imagine functioning without Paddle because there are so many countries and so many tax problems that our company would have to hire a full-time accountant.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

To be honest, nothing right now, because Paddle solves a lot of our problems when selling product around the World. Right now we can only focus on creating and improving our software without worring about taxes :)

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Taxe, taxes ... and taxes, ahh, and invoices! :)

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Wojciech - thanks for the great feedback!

 ### 18. Great Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arnab B. | CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

- Easy integration framework
- Offers a number of payment options to the end customers and the facility to pay in local currencies
- The team is super responsive

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

We at DocHipo are having a great experience working with Paddle. No cons so far!

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle handles subscription billing, charging, and remitting taxes in applicable countries. This helps us focus on our core competency, i.e., building a world-class product without worrying about billing and taxation.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Hi Arnab,

Thank you for your kind feedback and we are glad to hear you have had a great experience with Paddle.
We have some big upgrades planned for 2023 which we hope will help DocHipo even more on your journey.

Thanks,
Paddle team

 ### 19. Excellent solution for billing and tax management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Founder and CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

The best thing using Paddle is how easy it is to set up a subscription service available world-wide and be compliant with all taxes.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

From the development perspective, the sandbox testing is so real (especially notification emails) that sometimes you get fooled thinking that they are real transactions.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle is solving billing, payment gateway and tax compliance, helping our startup to focus on our product and not the administrative paperwork

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thanks for your feedback on our sandbox, David. We're improving our onboarding process for new users and appreciate your input!

 ### 20. Using Paddle for almost two years

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Apon A. | CEO, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

The best thing was the verification process; it was pretty fast.
The payment system is super solid. Everything is working smoothly so far.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Payouts should be weekly and less than 100 USD
Does not support multiple websites
Poor fraud detection
Some customers don't want to pay taxes

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle was not that great at solving fraud cases, we lost thousands, and they couldn't save anything. However the support, in general, is good.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, Apon. It’s great to hear that the verification process was fast and that our payment system is working smoothly for you.

Regarding payouts, we understand the importance of timely payouts and improving our payouts experience is a priority on our roadmap.

In terms of supporting multiple websites, we do offer the ability to manage multiple products and websites from a single Paddle account, as long as they are related to the same business. If you need to manage different businesses, you can create additional Paddle accounts, and all accounts are completely free!

Fraud detection is a top priority for us, and we have several measures in place to prevent fraudulent transactions from occurring. Our system screens all payments for fraud risk, and we automatically fight chargebacks on your behalf. We also have spam protections for your checkout and handle your regulatory requirements around not selling to sanctioned countries.

Lastly, you can choose to make your prices tax-inclusive, which means that customers will only see the final post-tax price. We'll then automatically deduct the taxes from those prices and file them on your behalf.

Once again, thank you for your feedback. Please feel free to reach out to our support team if you have any questions or concerns.

 ### 21. No finance/tax ops, but subscription management lacks features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pascal S. | Founder & CGO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

No headache with finance ops and taxes which is a great relief for a startup! One invoice per month and that's it. They really managed to deliver on that promise.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

You can't change # seats in the platform, you can't add several users to the subscription, many of the functionalities you would expect on a subscrpition level are actually on a transaction level. General usability is a bit clunky. E-Mails are being sent in Paddle's name which can confuse customers. Their invoicing is super rudimentary. Their out-of-the-box checkout screen is a bit ugly.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monetizing your customers without all the finance/tax headaches is great. They really delivered on that!

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Pascal. We're glad to hear that Paddle has been able to provide relief from finance and tax operations for your startup. We're actively working on improving our Subscription Billing functionality, with some big upgrades to come in 2023 - we’ll use your feedback as we develop the platform.

Regarding the sending of invoices in Paddle's name, this is a requirement as we are a Merchant of Record. We endeavor to provide your customers with as much clarity as possible that this invoice is on behalf of you, our Customer. If you have any more feedback on how we could be better at this, we would love to hear it.

 ### 22. The only comprehensive and trustworthy SaaS payment provider/platform to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle is awesome.

Handle your tax overseas without even lifting a finger... yes please!

A great platform to help developers of SaaS products get on with developing...

Great documentation and guides to get you moving fast. They've got a sandbox feature which works perfectly for testing your integration too.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

There is not much that I don't like about Paddle to be honest... it would be awesome if they had better support for affiliate campaigns built in...no big deal though!

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handling overseas sales tax for my SaaS without having to deal with that headache...

It allows me to move fast when developing SaaS products. No more stripe hassle!

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Thanks for your feedback, it’s amazing to hear we’ve had a great impact on your business.

Thanks,
Paddle team

 ### 23. Flexible Payment Collection Without Worrying About Sales Tax

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle takes a lot of the pain and stress away from payment collection by handling the Sales Tax and VAT obligations. This means I can spend more time actually building my product.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The one area that I think could use work is with regards to setting up subscription management. Currently it requires additional development work to allow users to switch between different subscription tiers and number of licenses, etc.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle helps my business collect payments and handle the Sales Tax and VAT obligations. This allows us to work faster on developing my product because we don't need to handle this ourselves or hire an external consultant.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> We appreciate your feedback and want you to know that we are constantly striving to improve our Subscription Billing functionality. We have some significant upgrades planned for 2023, and your input will be valuable as we continue to enhance the platform.

- You don't need to work with VAT because Paddle will handle it

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Great to hear this feedback, Mikhail.

Selling software worldwide without worry about tax rules in every country.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Hi Renato

Thanks for your feedback, it’s amazing to hear we’ve had a great impact on your business and that you had a good experience with our team.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

I feel the Paddle can still increase the payment options hold a strong presence in China and South America. This will help more conversions and smooth payment options for end users.

This helps me to sell the product globally.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

As for payment options, we do offer Alipay for China, and if you’re not set up, we’d be happy to help you with this. We’re actively exploring ways to expand our reach in South America - keep an eye out for this.

 ### 27. Paddle made our lives easier by collecting and analyzing our sales.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George B. | business development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

I like that you can track everything on paddle and have all the discount codes, partners, sales, and all the data. it is easy to extract the data as a report and analyze it.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Discount code set up. in our case we have tons of discount codes so they are hard to track and to organize. will be cool if you had a way to hide un important codes.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

they track all our sales and have all our sales data base information. they are our most used paying method and there we receive the money. Also helps us with making codes for partners.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Thanks for sharing your feedback, George.

Improving our discounting and coupon functionality is something we're working on - we’re taking your comment into account.

 ### 28. Takes the hassle out of e-selling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pierre C. | President, software developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle takes care of pesky foreign taxes. We only have to balance sales to one monthly deposit.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

It would be nice if Paddle offered a lower-level account type so our support employees could verify a customer purchase without being able to see our sales.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collects & remits foreign taxes. Sells in native currency. Simplifies accouting & sales reconciliation.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Our team is glad to hear that you've found value in our international tax handling. Regarding your feedback on a lower-level account type, we will take it into consideration as we continue to improve the dashboard. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

 ### 29. It's good for online commerce and accept payments.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

- tax calculation
- recurring payments
- easily integrate with new sites and domains
- analytics features inside the account
- fast payments to our bank account

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

First of all, it is not easy to integrate into site. So we need some developer help. Second - it doesn't support Apple Pay payments as Stripe does. Also not very intuitive interface, but it's not a problem.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us to fastly integrate site payments and not to wait six months while MID is reviewed by some banks. Also good subscription management help us understand our users.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

In the past I sold directly from my company to consumer users (B2C) but manage the different VAT rate for each countries/states is very complicated. Moreover even declare tax it's not easy because each contries have different rules. Thank to Paddle I not need anymore to do this work on my side.

We’re actively working on improving our Subscription functionality, with some big upgrades on the way. We’ll use your feedback as we develop the platform this year.

Smooth onboarding. No discrimination. Perfect glitch-free API. Solid buyer-facing UX. Overall the service gracefully solving the problem it's aiming to solve.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Seller-facing frontend could use some more attention.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Hi Ivan, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. We’ve noted your feedback and this will be taken into account as we make improvements to the dashboard.

**Reviewed by:** Georg M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

It's handling billing and taxes while respecting international legal requirements.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

That it currently can't integrate our sales numbers from iTunes Connect and Google Playstore. That it doesn't allow ApplePay for subscriptions.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handling taxes and billing internationally automatically. Also for subscriptions. This would otherwise become highly complicated (given our globally available SaaS products).

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Hi Georg,
Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback with us. We are delighted to hear that you use Paddle for your tax and subscription management and we appreciate your patience with the integration.

 ### 34. Great solution for subscription management and tax compliance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle allows us to sell our product to various countries without worrying about tax compliance. In addition, it has a user-friendly user interface, and all necessary information can be found in the Paddle dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

One feature I would like to see is the ability to create a coupon (for example, 50% off) for a certain number of months. Unfortunately, you can only create coupons for a lifetime or for one month.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us with tax compliance and saves us a lot of time on administration.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Thanks for sharing your feedback.

Improving our discounting and coupon functionality is something we're working on - we’re taking your comment into account.

 ### 35. Best to save yourself from the headache of dealing with transactions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Most of the things are handled after integration. Focus on growing without worrying about support, returns, refunds, or communication.

The fact paddle can handle different currencies/regions without tax compliance and get paid monthly automatically is significant.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Nothing major to mention, communication and support with the Paddle team is easy to sort out any problems. Customer-side e-mails to download invoices could be improved a bit. Sometimes they were confused about where to get or download the documents.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VAT / Taxing problems outside and inside Europe.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thank you for your response. We are thrilled to hear that you are satisfied with Paddle and that our services have alleviated some of your operational burdens. Assisting SaaS businesses in their operations and growth is our primary focus, so we greatly appreciate your positive feedback in this regard. This helps to sell my product across the world efficiently.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thank you for the amazing review. We're thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with Paddle.

 ### 37. Great for processing payments

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Good availability of support, ability to search for customers and transactions. Automated refund flow for users that goes through Paddle rather than having to build local infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

More search filters needed, default is to search over the last 30 days which isn't always helpful and results are categorised by default which isn't made clear. Support can sometimes take some time to get back to you.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payment processing, saving on having to build local infrastructure

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Hi there, we've noted your feedback about improving our search filters and will take this into account as we make further updates throughout the year.

Our support team is committed to providing timely responses, but sometimes we experience high volumes of inquiries that may result in delays. We appreciate your feedback and are constantly working to improve our processes. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

 ### 39. Easy to implement with most of what we needed

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guy B. | Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

As a SaaS product, Paddle was easy for us to implement (took 2-3 days), and allowed us to define our packages and start charging globally.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Doesn't support 100% of our use cases. For example, creating a subscription is possible through the API, but not as a one-time, special offer, so it did require a few workarounds at times.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to charge globally in various ways (subscription, one-time payments), without too much hassle.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts on Paddle. And glad to hear implementation went smoothly for you and your team.

We're excited to share that we have some big upgrades planned for our Subscription Billing functionality in 2023 so keep an eye on our upcoming announcements.

Thanks,
Paddle team

 ### 40. Using Paddle just works wherever you are in the world

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Very easy to implement.
Support is quite responsive.
Works in all countries, no matter where your company is based.
Flexible, ability to change the look and feel.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Would love some more backend integration, like more than one webhook. Alternatively, a real sandbox would be nice.
Nevertheless, we can still manage it very well.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly - the big issue of being based in a country without Stripe integration and - with reasonable cost.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thanks for the feedback! We've recently added multiple webhook destinations to our dashboard, so that should help with your integration needs. Let us know if you have any other suggestions.

I love paddle.com's easy checkout widget.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Payment processing...

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

At this point in time we don't have a timeline for delivery but will keep you posted on how this progresses. Keep an eye out for updates on our website or Changelog.

 ### 43. Clear and simple payment mechanism

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

The onboarding was simple. The user interface is simple yet clear. Invoices are sent easily as well. It's probably the easiest to start with.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

I disliked the fact that the transaction goes to paddle and then they pass the money to us. In addition, the commission is a little high.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle helps us in money transctions from customers.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you found our onboarding process simple and our user interface clear. Regarding your concerns about our payment process, we understand that it may seem like an extra step to have transactions go through Paddle first, but it allows us to handle tax, compliance, and other payment-related issues for our customers, so that they don't have to worry about it.

We’ve dropped a link to our compare page that goes into this.

 ### 50. paddle cant take care of its customers

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

nothing, Paddle failed in the simplest form of business: accepting payment.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

I dislike the fact that you lose your customers money. Paddle failed to resond to an email in a timely fashion and cost their client money because of negligence and poor management. I have a rule: If I am trying to give a business money for service and paddle cant even manage to process a payment it proves incompetence. A business that mismanages money is a risk bordering on eggregious stupidity.

**Recommendations to others considering Paddle:**

dont use paddle

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vectary solves my problems. Paddle is an unnecessary buffer between me and the sofware company. Paddle's poor management cost Vectary money. Vectary is their client.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Hello, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We regret to hear that our services did not meet your expectations, and we apologize for any frustration caused. This is not reflective of our typical operating standards, and we would appreciate the opportunity to address and resolve the situation. If you are open to it, please reach out to us. Either way, we would like to sincerely apologize once again for any inconvenience caused.
