**What do you like best about Bolt.new?**

The biggest value for me is how much it compresses the gap between an idea and something a client can actually click. In a typical workflow, getting a functional prototype in front of a stakeholder usually means scoping, design, and at least a dev sprint before anyone sees anything real. Bolt lets us skip a lot of the boilerplate—project scaffolding, dependency setup, routing, and basic state—and instead produce a working app from a written description. That shifts the feedback loop from weeks to hours.

From a project management standpoint, the most practical impact is on scoping accuracy. Clients are far better at reacting to something tangible than at approving a wireframe or signing off on a written spec. When we can generate two or three working directions cheaply, we surface requirement changes while they’re still inexpensive, rather than after development has already started.

The other thing that matters is that everything runs in the browser. There’s no local environment to configure, no onboarding overhead when someone new joins a project, and no mismatch between what one person sees and what the rest of the team sees. For an agency juggling parallel client projects, that removes a recurring source of friction.

**What do you dislike about Bolt.new?**

From a project-planning perspective, the cost model is the hardest part to manage. Bolt runs on tokens, and usage isn’t predictable in a way you can reliably estimate. Because Bolt syncs the full project to the AI on each prompt, consumption scales with project size. In practice, that means the deeper you get into a build, the more each iteration costs, which is the inverse of how a normal project burn-down should behave. Budgeting a fixed-fee client engagement around that is difficult.

A related issue is that a meaningful share of that spend goes toward fixing errors the tool introduced. Reviewers estimate that up to half their tokens went to correcting mistakes, and Bolt will often rewrite an entire file just to address a small bug. When the AI falls into a debugging loop, you’re paying for attempts rather than progress, and there’s no clean way to cap that exposure mid-sprint.

The second major limitation is the ceiling on complexity. Bolt is strong at getting you to a working first version, but it becomes noticeably weaker after that. Historically, approvals happen against wireframes, decks, and written scope—all of which are abstractions. Clients sign off on them, then react differently once they see the real thing. Bolt closes that gap by letting us generate a functional, clickable version early, so feedback that would normally surface in week six shows up in week one instead.

The second problem is the cost of exploring options. In a typical process, building two or three directions is a real budget line item, so teams tend to commit to one direction early and then defend it. **What do you like best about Bolt.new?**

What I like most about Bolt.new is how quickly I can go from an idea to a working application. As a lead AI engineer, it’s useful when I want to test a product idea or prototype something without spending a lot of time setting everything up from scratch. I can describe what I want, iterate through the chat, and see the changes immediately in the preview. Performance has also been good for me overall, especially during quick iterations and testing different versions. It’s made the early development process much faster and easier. I think the value is good for the time it saves during the initial development work. Being able to go from an idea to a working full-stack prototype quickly is useful, especially for testing and iterating on concepts without spending as much time on setup and boilerplate. It feels worthwhile for me when I’m using it to accelerate development rather than expecting it to replace the normal development and review process.

**What do you dislike about Bolt.new?**

The main thing I’d improve is how Bolt handles more complex changes. Sometimes a small change can create another issue or require a few rounds of prompting to get right. I also like having more control over the code as a project gets more advanced, so for me Bolt is better for prototyping than completely replacing the normal development workflow.

I like Bolt.new because it makes building things really quick. I can just explain what I want, make a few changes, and see the result without spending hours setting everything up. It’s been really handy when I want to test an idea or make a quick prototype.

Sometimes the AI doesn’t get things right on the first try, so I have to explain the same thing again or fix a few things myself. For bigger projects, the generated code can also get a bit messy. It’s great for getting started quickly, but I wouldn’t rely on it for everything without checking the code.

What I like most about Bolt.new is how fast it gets you from an idea to a working prototype. You describe an app and, within minutes, you have a live, editable, full-stack build without any local setup. It’s genuinely useful for quick client demos and early validation. The downside is that more complex custom logic still tends to need manual cleanup afterward. Overall, it’s great for scaffolding, but it’s not a full replacement for development.

**What do you dislike about Bolt.new?**

What I dislike most is the token burn: complex prompts chew through credits fast, and iterating on a design gets expensive quickly. The error handling is shaky, too; sometimes it just loops on the same broken “fix” instead of actually resolving the issue. On top of that, the exported code isn’t always clean, so I end up refactoring more than I’d like.

i am very old user of bolt.new, i started using it just when it was introduced, and i also give one of its hackthons, bolt.new has left a good impression on me , it is very good platform for development, with just simple commands we can create beautiful application with nice user interaction can be created it also integrates various development application or platforms which further help in development and management

the thing i dont like about it is that it is very costly, when i checked it subscription plans i was shocked to see it , because of that i am not using it for now, because it give very less free tokens and they get used very fast

**What do you like best about Bolt.new?**

Bolt.new has made building quick prototypes much faster, letting us go from a rough idea to a working app or interface just by describing what we need through chat instead of building it manually from scratch. Being able to start from a Figma design has sped up turning finished mockups into functional prototypes without redoing the UI work in code. Integration with GitHub has made it easy to push prototype code into a repository for further development once an idea is validated, rather than the prototype being a throwaway experiment. The range of starting points, whether a website, app, or dashboard, has covered most of the quick prototyping needs that come up during early feature exploration.

**What do you dislike about Bolt.new?**

Generated code for more complex, business-logic-heavy features sometimes needs significant manual refactoring before it's production-ready, since the AI tends to produce simpler implementations than our actual requirements. Prompting effectively to get the exact structure or behavior needed still takes some trial and error, especially for more nuanced UI interactions. Pricing scales with usage, which becomes a consideration if prototyping frequently rather than occasionally. Support for very specific, custom design systems isn't as seamless as working with more standard UI patterns.

**What do you like best about Bolt.new?**

The best thing about bolt is that we can select proper design system in that and also we can set the model level to max if needed for complex apps logic, which is very helpful, because in other apps like lovable, it doesn't allow model selection or design selection or setting the intelligence level.

While they have option for setting up the agent intelligence, they should have given option for model selection too, that's missing.

**What problems is Bolt.new solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bolt is solving the problem of creating web apps or SAAS based apps, basically we can do vibe code and create the SAAS we want, with many features.
We have been using bolt from long time and its super helpful, we mostly use it for automating our internal company workflows, and it works awesome and also its pricing is also better as compared to others.

What I like most is how quickly I can turn an idea into a working prototype. The interface is clean, and I don't need to spend time setting up a development environment. It's great for testing ideas or building small projects without a lot of effort.

**What do you dislike about Bolt.new?**

Sometimes the generated code needs a bit of manual tweaking, especially for more complex features. It can also take a few attempts to get the exact result I want, but it's still much faster than starting from scratch.

Bolt.new helps me build prototypes and simple web apps much faster than starting from scratch. Instead of spending time setting up a project and writing repetitive code, I can describe what I want and get a working version quickly. Bolt.new helps bridge the gap between an idea and a working application by eliminating much of the initial setup and boilerplate development work. It enables rapid prototyping, UI creation, and feature development through natural language prompts, which significantly speeds up the development process.

For me, the biggest benefit is faster iteration. Instead of spending time setting up projects, configuring environments, and building basic components from scratch, I can quickly generate a functional prototype, validate requirements, and focus on refining business logic and user experience. After using bolt.new to create some apps, I've realized that is better utilized to develop part of an app, rather than using the software to develope a complete, working app.

**What do you dislike about Bolt.new?**

You have to be very diligent with the initial prompt. If the software doesn’t create the app as desired on the first try, it can be difficult to recreate it through additional prompts without distorting the original code or app. Any follow-up prompts also need very specific instructions to amend only certain parts of the code, while clearly telling the AI to leave the working sections alone.

**What problems is Bolt.new solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves an uncountable amount of days traditionally used to code apps, but rarely does it leave you with a complete, usable app. However, it is ideal to create a very basic MVP.

Been using it since it was launched back in '24 - it builds and deploys a functioning software, or a website (which is mostly my use case with bolt), in a matter of minutes, which is crazy efficient, and gets the heavy part done.

**What do you dislike about Bolt.new?**

Sometimes a lot of backend work needed to get a software properly working built off bolt and get the apps running super smooth, but that's fair.
