"Best Code Versioning System"
What do you like best about GitHub?

I am using Github for the last 4 years and found the ease of code versioning, distribution, and kind of backup. We have created different branches and all the code is synced with team members. continuous integration and continuous development also integrated with GitHub. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

They provide on 3 private repositories, it should be at least 10 to 20. Private repositories are costly for small businesses where teams and projects are small. It also difficult to detect changes commits and conflicts when some junior mistakenly commit on the master branch Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great platform for code hosting "
What do you like best about GitHub?

Best free git based versioning control for our own projects and easily pull, push and commit woth effective merge conflict tool.

I can collaborate with any other public repositories and can suggest them some improvements and as well as guide them and create pull requests and can log their bugs and issues .

All my team members can work in same project at the same time without any problem and revert our changes in case of any problem. We can save our code publically and privately both.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

I would say Learning how to use github is somewhat tricky.

In private repository more than 3 contributors are not allowed in free plan.

"Github: Code maintenance and sharing is easy and secure now"
What do you like best about GitHub?

we have been using Github for very long time to maintain our codebases and share repositories internally in our organization. Github is a very good platform in terms of providing a code versioning system with many options, such as branching and ownership. Also, there are many third-party tools (in GUI versions) to support local operation for committing and maintaining code from the local machine. Github makes the code consistent and provides updates transparency while working in a team on a same code. Ultimately, Github is the most required tool, in my opinion, to be there in any software development company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

Despite Github makes it fairly easy for us to maintain our code, there is somewhat learning curve incorporated in order to master it. Other then that, there are not any issues I have come across using Github. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Gold Standard"
What do you like best about GitHub?

I like the the hub: by which I mean GitHub.com. A place where developers store their projects and network with like minded people.

It is all visualised in a nice easy to use interface. So, don't have to use CLI if you do not want to.

The Git code versioning system is also one of the best out there and offers file integrity like no other.

Through the Hub I can also collaborate with many of my peers/associates on little to large projects. Where we can offer each other guidance and improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

I wouldn't say dislike, but having to pick something, I would say the learning curve. The learning curve can pose a challenge and is a testimony to the powerfulness of the capabilities of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Git cloud based publishing tool and hosting platform!"
What do you like best about GitHub?

One of the best things you can do on github is collaborative, github is giving so much tools to the modern to collaborative with other developers, you can get code reviews from the community really easly and organized.

One more tool github is giving the developer is issue tracking, github is offering a flexible issue tracker lets you stay on top of bugs and focus on features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

Eveything is abit confusing at the start you need to learn step by step how to clone and create local gits, but after doing a few times it's pretty easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GitHub, the best site for code review"
What do you like best about GitHub?

I like GitHub because it allows me to host my code and have the ability to search and obtain it whenever I need it, and best of all, from anywhere I am. Additionally, I have the possibility to track changes in my repository, offering the option to have a public and private repository separately. It is very easy to use and provides the security and confidence to keep my codes safe, since even if I make changes to my code, GitHub keeps a record of the previous version so that I can access it and recover what I lost by mistake or simply because I need that version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

I particularly have nothing negative to add; working with GitHub has been very beneficial for the projects at the company where I work, and I haven't had any experience with this tool that I dislike. I've used it since it was recommended to me, and it has been gratifying for me and my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"If you an open source enthusiast, Github is your home"
What do you like best about GitHub?

Github offers Student Pack for the university students, with unlimited private repositories. Also Github's issue tracking system is awesome, if you running a open source repos. It's easy to collaborate for single code, mange commits and pull requests in the Github Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

Github don't offer clear version history and pull request merge history with the graphical representation. So it hard to track conflict warnings in the code. Also it need to develop the in browser mark down editing capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Use source codes for your web developments with GitHub"
What do you like best about GitHub?

As a user and website creator, I like being able to give my opinion, comment with work teams with the same goal, let's try to advance on web pages. GitHub classifies the work and you receive updates for very specific projects, whether they are public or private. With this tool, you can receive valuable information from different projects and, with this information, I can make corrections or improvements, I can also learn from other developers and give them my opinion on their work or vice versa. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

For beginners, it becomes complicated, therefore, starting with this can be difficult. It is free for public projects, but for the private mode without access to all the unlocking functions, you must pay, and it is quite expensive. The price varies according to the functions. What will you offer? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best VCS out there!!"
What do you like best about GitHub?

1. GitHub is best version-control tool out there. I've been using BitBucket and Gitlab for few months but later on shifted to GitHub because they offer free private repositories now. GitHub has maintained it's rapport among developers and having a good GitHub profile makes you stand out of developers. It's certainly the first choice of developers when using VCS.

2. Recently GitHub has rolled out lot of tools for deployment and DevOps( Like CircleCI), and these are free for smaller repositories. Using GitHub, I don't have to use much external tools to integrate. Github seamlessly works on Desktop tool, command line tool and web interface.

3. GitHub Pages offers free hosting and subdomain for account. You can create a new GitHub site within just few minutes. None of the other free hosting sites can be compared with Github pages. It's totally ad-free and support Open-Source community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

1. Commands are little bit arcane for git rookies. They have to struggle initially to learn while onboarding.

2. Free plan cannot have more than 3 contributors for private repository. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
