"not always satisfied I miss AVIMARK"
What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?

What I like the best is that if I am not at the office I can still get into Pulse to help the staff if there is a problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?

Oh Where should I start. When I have a problem I wonder if the person who devloped this program had knowledge of how a vet clinic runs.

One of my biggest problems is if I have a dog and I give it to Joe Blow. The chart is transfered over to Joe Blow the record follows the dog but reminders do not go.

The accounting can be a pain in the ass if you are doing a return. It can troublesome to return and get the approiate report.

Another thing is on dogs that bad it should have a pop up as an Alert!!!!! That Should be something that comes up little tiny words in pet alerts doesn't draw attention.

Putting me on the spot is not covering the problems I need to make a list so I could give you more than 3 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Reminders Pane, but Pulse’s Inefficient Boarding Calendar and Daycamp Pass Tracking is lacking"
What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?

The slide out Reminders pane, this gives us the ability to get a very quick view of what vaccines, bloodwork, treatments they are due for and whether or not we can refill medications. It also allows us to look at the Alerts and Allergy alerts quickly while making quick an decisive decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?

The boarding calendar is not very useful for our busy boarding facility. You can only see 1 week at a time, it is difficult to schedule a boarding stay for an animal that is longer than 1 week because the drag feature is slow and you can't plan ahead to see when that Cage or run is already booked with a reservation. In fact, the calendar is so bad that we are still using Avimark's calendar(our previous PIMS) to schedule boarding reservations since pulse is so clumsy and stressful and slow. Another thing we dislike is that we can't keep track of Daycamp boarding passes; in Avimark we could sell a package of 10 or 20 passes for day camp and it would keep track of how many passes an animal has for day camp each time we check them in for boarding on any given day. Pulse we have to manually count how many times a camper has been in and then manually keep track of how many passes they have left. It slows down checkout immensely. "User friendly and overall helpful, but still needs several improvements"
What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?

It's pretty user-friendly once you learn all the ways in which to do things. The checkout process is easy and we very rarely have issues with terminals or the system during checkout. I just learned about the Email Dashboard and I LOVE that we have access to that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?

1. the refund process is terrible. 2. you can't see which document was attached to email communications after sending. 3. when trying to send lab results to clients, all patients' lab results appear and are not marked, so it's difficult to locate which one you need to send. Also, the document preview is so small that you can barely read it, even with good eye sight. 4. implementation training was inadequate for the team. We felt very ill equipped on our go-live day and for a while after that. 5. I didn't feel my implementor was knowledgeable enough about the software. 6. while the chat support has gotten better since I went live, I often feel that I know more about the software than the support team and that is HIGHLY frustrating sometimes when I, as a manager, need assistance with something. 7. we've written several feature requests for "bugs" or programming issues that have still not been resolved after almost a year. "Too Many Clicks, Inaccurate Inventory, and Cumbersome Reporting in Pulse"
What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?

There is honestly not much I like about Pulse. It requires far too many clicks to complete even simple tasks, which slows down daily workflow and creates unnecessary frustration for the team. The inventory system does not track accurately, making it difficult to rely on counts and manage ordering effectively. The software also downloads an excessive amount of data onto individual computers, which impacts performance. When we need something added or updated in Pulse, the process feels overly complicated and time-consuming, requiring multiple steps and follow-ups. Additionally, the reporting feature is not user-friendly—reports are difficult to navigate, and you cannot pull all the necessary data in one comprehensive report, which makes analyzing performance and making informed decisions more challenging than it should be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?

I strongly dislike everything about Pulse. The system is inefficient, cumbersome, and frustrating to use on a daily basis. On top of the ongoing functionality issues, the price has increased, which makes it even harder to justify given the challenges we experience. I am also disappointed that it is associated with Covetrus, as that connection has not added value to our experience. Overall, it has not met our expectations operationally or financially. "Convenient But Needs Better Communication Features"
What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?

I really like the convenience of having cloud-based software with Covetrus Pulse, as it makes everything related to daily practice management easily accessible and allows for personalization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?

The software is a bit click-heavy and the available communications platform is not the best. It would be great to offer ISP phone integration to go along with SMS and emailing. The initial setup was fairly seamless but it did not allow for a way to manage duplicate client files among our 3 practices. We have had to merge them manually over the past 2 years and still are doing so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Beth Gruber of Covetrus Pulse

"Review based on personal usage"
What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?

The write back for the pharmacy and integrated labs. It helps eliminate errors from transcribing and saves time. I like the fact that I can move multiple billing items at once. The time clock is super helpful it has helped stop my staff from forgetting to clock in and out for their shift. As a manager I fond the reports very clean and easy to read. They are simple to run. This system has sped up my efficiency as I am not having to use multiple different software's to rack inventory, employee time cards, controls ect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?

Sometime tech support doesn't listen very well when you are having an issue that needs to be addressed. The last update really messed up the labs process. It doesn't transfer the breed over to the requisition forms. Also it makes you use hotkeys to move into a clear field to be able to type comments instead of being able to click on the clear field with the cursor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Okay for day practice, not so much for emergency."
What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?

We are able to link all of our clinics so that our clients list is the same at all locations. Having a place to look up issues and problems. Nice layout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?

Not integrated with suppliers. But it's in the works! Support not available 24/7 ss an emergency clinic that would be ideal. Not able to edit estimates as we want. Very click-y. Not as user friendly. Not customizable. Doesn't have a lot of features we had on multiple other systems we've used. Even our daypractices don't love it. Lots of things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good program, will one day be a great program"
What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?

Coming from Cornerstone it has been nice to have a cloud based program. The ease of pulling up clients and quick invoicing/invoicing in general has also been well received. It is also appreciated by the front desk the ease of changing and or correcting payments. Cornerstone was very unforgiving if you made a financial error, so being able to quickly and easily fix this has made the front desk breathe a sigh of relief. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?

The PDF generating can be annoying. It would be nice if the forms just printed instead of saving to your HD. The boarding platform is an absolute nightmare. I'm having to make sure I set the appointments at 7am and leaving at 12am and even then it will get confusing if you have two pets boarding together. We tried the hotel style but it was still overcharging clients. I have an XL Run that we charge $117 for up to 4 pets, however unlike CStone there is no way for the sytem to recognize it and wants to charge each pet an additional cost. It would also be nice to be able to send forms {grooming/boarding/bath) to the client and have them be able to send it back you and then save to the system. We are still having to scan in all the printed out forms. I know you can email the form but unless you have certain programs downloaded you can't edit, and even then I did not find it user friendly. It is also not the most user friendly manually entering in previous vaccine history. We still utilize travel sheets, so we are having to generate those still from Cornerstone. Also, having to created multiple reports during the day to check and balance should be easier. With CStone we could check without having to go in and create report after report.

Edit to add: There are far too many steps with checking out. If a patient is checked in and you check them out you still have to manually check them out on the screen from each individual check-in (we will have them on a groom/tech or dr schedule separately). "Too Simple for Hospital Reports & Financials, with Integration Restrictions"
What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?

It is simple. Ease of use for simple tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?

It is too simple. The biggest flaw is for managing reports and hospital financials. Restrictions on integrations. Medical records are cluttered and tough to get through. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Reach Support via Phone or Live Chat"
What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?

I like how easy it is to get into contact with someone for help whether that's a phone call or live chat. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?

There are not enough features that are obvious to need. We also struggle with not having/finding integrations that work best for the clinic while working with Pulse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
