## About Covetrus Pulse
Covetrus Pulse is a cloud-based veterinary practice management platform built to unify your practice's workflows, enhance productivity, and let your team spend more time on patient care rather than administrative tasks. Pulse brings together everything your practice needs, from scheduling and medical records to inventory, client communication, and embedded payment processing, into one flexible, connected care environment for increasing efficiency and profitability. It also includes advanced automation and AI features throughout the exam’s journey to improve practice productivity. Key Features & Capabilities: • AI-Powered Automation: Covetrus Pulse was one of the first veterinary tools to deploy AI to streamline daily tasks. It automates workflows (appointment and service reminders SOAP notes and treatment summaries for later review), enabling veterinarians to reclaim an average of 6 hours per week per DVM1 for more meaningful, clinical work. • Robust Practice Management Core: Appointment scheduling; electronic medical records (EMR); inventory tracking; client & reminder communication; integrated payment processing; and reporting & analytics to help identify trends and make data-driven decisions. • Cloud Access & Flexibility: Because it’s cloud-based, your team can access records and manage workflows from any device, whether in the clinic or remotely. That removes the burden of on-site servers, improves resilience, and supports hybrid or mobile workflows. • Treatment Board & Visual Workflow: Offers real-time patient status tracking, treatment planning, and resource scheduling in a visually organized layout. Visual alerts help staff quickly see what needs attention, to maintain momentum through each patient’s visit. • Comprehensive Integration Ecosystem: It supports over 250 third-party integrations, including labs, diagnostics, payment systems, insurance, bookkeeping, and inventory management. This means you can use familiar tools or incorporate specialized apps without switching platforms. Benefits: • Streamlined workflows – built-in integrations for seamless practice management, all in one place and accessible anywhere, anytime. • Staff Efficiency – Manage prescriptions, payments, diagnostics, and more within a single system. • Enhance client loyalty – Covetrus Comms integration streamlines client communications with online scheduling, automated reminders, texting, and more. • Built for the future of your practice – Pulse is highly customizable to fit the way your practice operates. Pulse is innovating more than ever with new capabilities like the real-time patient status tracking Treatment Board and Covetrus AI. Make Pulse the backbone of your practice. 1. ## Covetrus Pulse Reviews
 ### 1. not always satisfied I miss AVIMARK

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steph S. | Office manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

What I like the best is that if I am not at the office I can still get into Pulse to help the staff if there is a problem.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Oh Where should I start. When I have a problem I wonder if the person who devloped this program had knowledge of how a vet clinic runs.

One of my biggest problems is if I have a dog and I give it to Joe Blow. The chart is transfered over to Joe Blow the record follows the dog but reminders do not go.

The accounting can be a pain in the ass if you are doing a return. It can troublesome to return and get the approiate report.

Another thing is on dogs that bad it should have a pop up as an Alert!!!!! That Should be something that comes up little tiny words in pet alerts doesn't draw attention.

Putting me on the spot is not covering the problems I need to make a list so I could give you more than 3

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The suggestions I have said need to be done especially reminders following moved animals is not being worked on. And if you stop and think about it it is vital that reminders move with animals wether there owners change or not that should be attached to the animal not the owner. If a pet is given away and named changed if the reminder doesn't follow that animal. That is revnue lost to the clinic and health care lost to the animal.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Steph - Your feedback matters to us. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. We will pass this on to our customer support team, and someone should be reaching out shortly.

 ### 2. Great Reminders Pane, but Pulse’s Inefficient Boarding Calendar and Daycamp Pass Tracking is lacking

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron . | Practice Manager/Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The slide out Reminders pane, this gives us the ability to get a very quick view of what vaccines, bloodwork, treatments they are due for and whether or not we can refill medications. It also allows us to look at the Alerts and Allergy alerts quickly while making quick an decisive decisions.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The boarding calendar is not very useful for our busy boarding facility. You can only see 1 week at a time, it is difficult to schedule a boarding stay for an animal that is longer than 1 week because the drag feature is slow and you can't plan ahead to see when that Cage or run is already booked with a reservation. In fact, the calendar is so bad that we are still using Avimark's calendar(our previous PIMS) to schedule boarding reservations since pulse is so clumsy and stressful and slow. Another thing we dislike is that we can't keep track of Daycamp boarding passes; in Avimark we could sell a package of 10 or 20 passes for day camp and it would keep track of how many passes an animal has for day camp each time we check them in for boarding on any given day. Pulse we have to manually count how many times a camper has been in and then manually keep track of how many passes they have left. It slows down checkout immensely.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sending a payment link is a nice feature for clients whom are in a hurry or we are checking out multiple boarders or day campers who are lined up waiting to leave. I am also able to send payment links to clients whom are making monthly payments and don't want to leave a payment card on file.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Aaron - Your feedback matters to us. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

 ### 3. User friendly and overall helpful, but still needs several improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chrissy G. | Practice/Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

It's pretty user-friendly once you learn all the ways in which to do things. The checkout process is easy and we very rarely have issues with terminals or the system during checkout. I just learned about the Email Dashboard and I LOVE that we have access to that.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

1. the refund process is terrible. 2. you can't see which document was attached to email communications after sending. 3. when trying to send lab results to clients, all patients' lab results appear and are not marked, so it's difficult to locate which one you need to send. Also, the document preview is so small that you can barely read it, even with good eye sight. 4. implementation training was inadequate for the team. We felt very ill equipped on our go-live day and for a while after that. 5. I didn't feel my implementor was knowledgeable enough about the software. 6. while the chat support has gotten better since I went live, I often feel that I know more about the software than the support team and that is HIGHLY frustrating sometimes when I, as a manager, need assistance with something. 7. we've written several feature requests for "bugs" or programming issues that have still not been resolved after almost a year.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pulse solved a lot of issues for us since we switched over from Cornerstone. Mostly the ease of use, the inefficiencies it solved for us, and being more user friendly are the best things.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Chrissy - Thanks for taking the time to share your review with the veterinary community. Your feedback is at the heart of everything we do.

 ### 4. Pulse Review--easy and efficient!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin M. | Practice manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

It is easy to store all necessary data in pulse. There are numerous features that allow for easy recording of data. The customer support is great--always friendly and answer in a timely manner. It has easily intergrated with numerous other applications.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Sometimes there is a lag on the program. Not always easy to update reminders etc.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an all in one system. Easy to use and train users one. Keeps everything from employee records to pet records.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Erin - Your practice is at the heart of everything we do, and so is your feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience with Pulse!

 ### 5. Too Many Clicks, Inaccurate Inventory, and Cumbersome Reporting in Pulse

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heather C. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

There is honestly not much I like about Pulse. It requires far too many clicks to complete even simple tasks, which slows down daily workflow and creates unnecessary frustration for the team. The inventory system does not track accurately, making it difficult to rely on counts and manage ordering effectively. The software also downloads an excessive amount of data onto individual computers, which impacts performance. When we need something added or updated in Pulse, the process feels overly complicated and time-consuming, requiring multiple steps and follow-ups. Additionally, the reporting feature is not user-friendly—reports are difficult to navigate, and you cannot pull all the necessary data in one comprehensive report, which makes analyzing performance and making informed decisions more challenging than it should be.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I strongly dislike everything about Pulse. The system is inefficient, cumbersome, and frustrating to use on a daily basis. On top of the ongoing functionality issues, the price has increased, which makes it even harder to justify given the challenges we experience. I am also disappointed that it is associated with Covetrus, as that connection has not added value to our experience. Overall, it has not met our expectations operationally or financially.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't know of anything they are solving that would help.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Heather - We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We will pass this on to our customer support team, and someone should be reaching out shortly.

 ### 6. Convenient But Needs Better Communication Features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carrie W. | Hospital Account Manager

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I really like the convenience of having cloud-based software with Covetrus Pulse, as it makes everything related to daily practice management easily accessible and allows for personalization.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The software is a bit click-heavy and the available communications platform is not the best. It would be great to offer ISP phone integration to go along with SMS and emailing. The initial setup was fairly seamless but it did not allow for a way to manage duplicate client files among our 3 practices. We have had to merge them manually over the past 2 years and still are doing so.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Covetrus Pulse for scheduling, medical records management, and data integration. It's convenient having everything cloud-based, making daily practice management easily accessible and personalized.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Carrie - We’re so happy we could be there to help you provide your patients with great care. Your feedback is integral to us and to the veterinary industry. Keep thriving!

 ### 7. Review based on personal usage

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brook W. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The write back for the pharmacy and integrated labs. It helps eliminate errors from transcribing and saves time. I like the fact that I can move multiple billing items at once. The time clock is super helpful it has helped stop my staff from forgetting to clock in and out for their shift. As a manager I fond the reports very clean and easy to read. They are simple to run. This system has sped up my efficiency as I am not having to use multiple different software's to rack inventory, employee time cards, controls ect.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Sometime tech support doesn't listen very well when you are having an issue that needs to be addressed. The last update really messed up the labs process. It doesn't transfer the breed over to the requisition forms. Also it makes you use hotkeys to move into a clear field to be able to type comments instead of being able to click on the clear field with the cursor.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to track multiple items with this software. Time cards, controls, inventory, production, lab production, reminders ect.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Brook - Your practice is at the heart of everything we do, and so is your feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

 ### 8. Okay for day practice, not so much for emergency.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

We are able to link all of our clinics so that our clients list is the same at all locations. Having a place to look up issues and problems. Nice layout.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Not integrated with suppliers. But it's in the works! Support not available 24/7 ss an emergency clinic that would be ideal. Not able to edit estimates as we want. Very click-y. Not as user friendly. Not customizable. Doesn't have a lot of features we had on multiple other systems we've used. Even our daypractices don't love it. Lots of things.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Online based. Partner clinics merged. Ability to fully customize the clinic documents.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> Thanks for taking the time to share your review with the veterinary community. Your feedback is at the heart of everything we do.

 ### 9. Good program, will one day be a great program

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erica B. | Front Desk Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Coming from Cornerstone it has been nice to have a cloud based program. The ease of pulling up clients and quick invoicing/invoicing in general has also been well received. It is also appreciated by the front desk the ease of changing and or correcting payments. Cornerstone was very unforgiving if you made a financial error, so being able to quickly and easily fix this has made the front desk breathe a sigh of relief.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The PDF generating can be annoying. It would be nice if the forms just printed instead of saving to your HD. The boarding platform is an absolute nightmare. I'm having to make sure I set the appointments at 7am and leaving at 12am and even then it will get confusing if you have two pets boarding together. We tried the hotel style but it was still overcharging clients. I have an XL Run that we charge $117 for up to 4 pets, however unlike CStone there is no way for the sytem to recognize it and wants to charge each pet an additional cost. It would also be nice to be able to send forms {grooming/boarding/bath) to the client and have them be able to send it back you and then save to the system. We are still having to scan in all the printed out forms. I know you can email the form but unless you have certain programs downloaded you can't edit, and even then I did not find it user friendly. It is also not the most user friendly manually entering in previous vaccine history. We still utilize travel sheets, so we are having to generate those still from Cornerstone. Also, having to created multiple reports during the day to check and balance should be easier. With CStone we could check without having to go in and create report after report.

Edit to add: There are far too many steps with checking out. If a patient is checked in and you check them out you still have to manually check them out on the screen from each individual check-in (we will have them on a groom/tech or dr schedule separately).

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cornerstone was server based and when we would lose power it could take up to an hour or longer for the server to come back online. We also did not utilize the many, many aspects that CStone had and wanted a more simplisitic PIMS for the digital age.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> We are grateful you took the time to review Covetrus Pulse as your feedback matters to us so we can continue to shape our portfolio to support the needs of veterinary practices just like yours.

 ### 10. Too Simple for Hospital Reports & Financials, with Integration Restrictions

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christine G. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

It is simple. Ease of use for simple tasks.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

It is too simple. The biggest flaw is for managing reports and hospital financials. Restrictions on integrations. Medical records are cluttered and tough to get through.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not a clue

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Christine - Your feedback matters to us. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

 ### 11. Easy to Reach Support via Phone or Live Chat

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I like how easy it is to get into contact with someone for help whether that's a phone call or live chat.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

There are not enough features that are obvious to need. We also struggle with not having/finding integrations that work best for the clinic while working with Pulse.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pulse helps us with managing patient medical records with ease.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi - Thanks for taking the time to share your review with the veterinary community. Your feedback is at the heart of everything we do.

 ### 12. Often frustrating

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brenda R. | Owner/ veterinarian, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

It's intuitive. Clicking on highlighted tabs brings you to where you expect to go

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Where do I start? I'm a mobile practice owner. Much of what I do is wireless, on a tablet or phone. Trying to connect or beginning disconnected is a major problem. The drop down menus don't work well when you're trying to scroll on the phone or tablet. The new patient pop out is very annoying. I preferred when the patient's vitals were below the client information. I don't need to see reminder information every time I scroll or change screens. Trying to see downloads from the patient files on mobile devices is also difficult since the "upgrade". I keep getting a different patient file and have to go to downloads to get the correct file. Which means that I have to download a file multiple times to view it!
Also when there are multiple patients scrolling through each physical exam is tedious and time consuming. I'd like to be able to see a pe form that is on a single page. It's difficult to do even 1 exam form when every time I mark something abnormal the screen jumps back to the beginning of the form and I have to scroll again.
Stripe needs to be able to be used more easily with wifi so that payments are easier to be made. I can't use stripe because it's not wireless or wifi adaptable. This means that all the credit cards are put in as checks.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't actually see Pulse as solving problems. I have the same problems with every system that is available to me. The only benefit is that I do most of my business with Covetrus and it's in the same family

 ### 13. Easy-to-Use Veterinary Solution with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara k. | pm, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I like the ease of use of Covetrus Pulse. The initial setup was simple.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I don't like that there is no current ability to toggle from a patient's chart in Covetrus Rx to Pulse.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Covetrus Pulse for managing medical records, and I like its ease of use.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Sara - We are grateful you took the time to review Pulse. Your feedback helps us continue to shape our portfolio to support the needs of veterinary practices just like yours.

 ### 14. Highly Customizable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyra T. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I like that it's very customizable. There are a bunch of ways that you can curate things to make it how you want it.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

It crashes sometimes which can be frustrating.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's very easy to use in my opinion, and it can be pretty easy to learn. It's not as difficult as using other systems.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Kyra - Thanks for taking the time to share your review with the veterinary community. Your feedback is at the heart of everything we do.

 ### 15. Great cloud based PMS with many pros and few cons.

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Ease of use and multiple methods to create medical records and history. Lab interface flexibility and ease of uploading file add ons

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

CONSTANT UPDATES and changes to layout. New isnt always better.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently the only issue I have is constant updates changing layout and format. I wish they would do LESS.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Derek - Your practice is at the heart of everything we do, and so is your feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

 ### 16. Needs Improvement: Great QOL Updates, But Overall Experience Falls Short

Software makes boarding reservations and boarding in general extremely difficult at times.

> Hi - Your practice is at the heart of everything we do, and so is your feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

 ### 19. Continued improvements with great support!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer M. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Hyperlinks within the program to take you directly to the patient record, can pull up the cloud based software anywhere for convenience, the list a long!

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

It does NOT link with our in-house IDEXX imaging, which is frustrating - since it connects SO well with our in-house and reference IDEXX labs.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to access this from home is just one benefit. Linking with other Covetrus platforms is also a huge perk to simplify business objectives and client communications.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Jennifer - Your practice is at the heart of everything we do, and so is your feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

 ### 20. I like the product overall, but a lot of bugs

> Hi Annette - Your feedback matters to us. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. We will pass this on to our customer support team, and someone should be reaching out shortly.

 ### 21. Too many days with non-functional software.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ellie S. | DVM, Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I liked the complete problem list easily accessible when MR opened. However, this has been changed and the current format is unhelpful.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Repeatedly have days where system is not functional. Updates do not appear to be industry tested. Valuable information is changed into non-functional locations. I have been trying to leave Covetrus Pulse for 5 months and still do not have the data delivered to my new software company. This is a very shady way to make me continue to pay for Pulse, even though we have not used it for 5 months.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No benefit at this time.

 ### 22. Accessible Anywhere, But Dependent on Internet Connection

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Can use it anywhere I'm at, Use at home or in office.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

When Internet is down we have no way to get into patient records

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The visibility of records. The ability to add inventory to services

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi - Your practice is at the heart of everything we do, and so is your feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

 ### 23. Pulse for busy practice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie P. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Pulse has made our workflow much more efficient. It has improved the appointment flow, inter-office communication and allowed the team more time to focus on patient care. It was a huge help in our transition to a paperless practice.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Some of the functions of Pulse have made invoicing difficult due to not being as robust as our previous PIMS in functionality (ex. Rounding up fees and not changing the mark-up, boarding charges being linked to inventory). Pulse allows offices to input requests for new functions and are constantly updating which helps!

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Covetrus is solving our problem of appointments taking too long due to an outdated PIMS. It also solved the problem of going paperless and saving time.

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Jamie - Thanks for taking the time to share your review with the veterinary community. Your feedback is at the heart of everything we do.

 ### 24. Solid cloud based veterinary software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay H. | Veterinarian, Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The software is easy to use, easy to teach staff when onboarding, and visually not overwhelming. Tasks are generally easy to accomplish and regular updates help improve the software as technology improves. The ability to take notes easily and integration with multiple laboratories is great. Customer support is generally friendly and solves most of my issues when I contact them in a timely manner.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Some updates are not helpfu. For example, they rolled out an update that when you e-mail a report card to a client it now opens a brand new tab in your browser to send that e-mail. So if I have 20 patients in a day, 20 separate windows or tabs are opened to send those report cards which is incredibly draining of memory and resources on a CPU regardless of whether or not it is cloud based. This was an improvement which has only added to the reputation that Pulse is too clicky. Asking for a provider with every single click of the software is also cumbersome and annoying especially if you are a doctor inputting notes and religiously log out of your account like I do :-) Having document templates in e-mail construction is something I would love to see! Figuring out a way to make Pulse more smartphone friendly is always on my wishlist.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cloud based software removes the burden of a clunk, expensive server and allows you to access the software in many more places and devices.

 ### 25. Our Experience with Covetrus Pulse

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Makayla C. | Lead Veterinary Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

This software is very user-friendly. It is straight forward and easy to learn the in's and out's of. There are multiple tutorials, a great live chat feature, and the support team is always very helpful. It allows for customization of templates, which is great to set our hospital apart. It's also easy to create new files for clients and their pets. Being able to log into the software from any device is very handy when you occasionally have to take work home with you.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Because it is new, there are a few features missing. When we inquire about these features, we're told to submit a request, which gets added to thousands of other user's requests. So far, we have not seen any of these be implemented.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to use the software quickly and efficiently for when we need it most. We enjoy how compatible it is with lab companies such as IDEXX, which we work with frequently. The inventory management is also very handy when it comes to keeping track of what's on our shelves.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> Your practice is at the heart of everything we do, and so is your feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

 ### 26. Pulse

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liz M. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I like the integration with Rapport- that saves us a lot of time. I like the customization of the schedule based on who is in each day. I like the ability to email records directly from the system rather than having to download attachments. I like the integration with antech for ease of tracking lab results.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Pulse is very slow and tedious. There are too many steps to remember at check out. There are too many different ways to do everything-and not every way something can be done is the correct way. This makes the system hard to learn and tedious to use. Invoicing is to complicated and too rigid- it should not be difficult to review and invoice, remove items, change items, apply discounts, take payments etc. Billing is terrible. I have to self address envelopes to mail bills- it is 2024 this is absolutely absurd. I dislike the inability to see at a glance a patients vaccine status when making boarding reservations. I find the medical record overwhleming and busy to look at making it harder to find the information I need at a glance. Overall I have been disatisfied with Pulse and would caution anyone from transitioning to this service.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because Pulse is clougbased we no longer need to use a server and pay for backups of our data. The integration with Rapport saves us time with sending out reminder texts. Otherwise Pulse has created more problems than it has solved.

 ### 27. Cloud Based Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha T. | Veterinarian, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Online access, which allows me to work from anywhere I can get internet. I can check the schedule from my phone, update charges on the fly, etc. Integrates with online pharmacy and our in house and outside lab. We are also now using Rapport for two way texting to clients, which has helped take some of the load off our CSRs up front answering phones.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I wish there were less clicking, like how on Avimark everything was on a single screen. They also moved everything to a side panel which is so much more work and clicking.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to set up a new clinic and train everyone all at once, ease of use, accessability. Plenty of webinars and training available. Integrations with our online pharmacy and lab are great. Two way texting and reminders with Rapport has also saved up times and CSR efficiency.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> Thanks for being a great customer and for sharing your feedback with us.

 ### 28. Covetrus Pulse -

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda E. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The ease of use and learning the platform is great. It's easy to train on. There's not an obscene amount of clicks to get to what you're trying to accomplish. Customer support is awesome to work with. They are typically very quick to get to you - through call or chat. We've been using Covetrus Pulse for 4 years now. We also utilize VRX Pro

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The lab dashboard could use some work. Antech labs don't write as seamlessly as we need. There's also not a great way to handle prescription requests, so we've had to create our own workflow.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our biggest issues have not been something that's been solved yet. Hopefully it's on the horizon, as I've seen other users mention the same issues.

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

It is very easy to use. The menu layout is simple and very easy to follow. Makes training new employes very easy.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Over the years we have had lots of performance issues. Software being slow or unresponsive. Support has been a problem getting them to acknoldge the problem There are many bugs that still exhists. Some if you are not aware will cost you money. Changes with integration with companies backing out of Pulse. Glitches in webroswers needing history cleared once a day is a pain. My staff are not IT experts yet you always blame things on our end when its bad programming. Pick a browser to support and help make your platform work best on that browser.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

These days Pulse is creating more problems than solving.

 ### 30. So much wrong, and unnecessary updates

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I do like having someone to chat with when there are errors. However, it would be nice if they were available a little later (but that's a West Coast problem).
I do think it's easy to navigate, and part of me likes that you can do things in different ways.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I'll just give you my bullet points (but I have a whole document):
1. Load time for pages - worse with larger charts
- Log in also takes a bit, would prefer the PIN system like we had previously

2. Anesthesia form
- enter volume (ml) given in the premed but dosage (mg/kg) in the extra medications at the bottom
- difficult to read at times
- does not send to clinics nicely
- inventory items can be entered in under "drugs" (i.e. toothpaste could be entered under the premedications)

3. Inventory changes/glitches
- Have had multiple drugs (mainly controlled drugs) change the amount to 1.0000000000007 ml (there's no way we're charging for that small of an amount). If it's doing it with these, I wonder what else it's messing up on
- vaccines seem to be off constantly (rarely able to find mistakes)

4. Task Board - we liked the old one. There are a few things that we like about the new one (mass completion, adjusting who it's assigned to).
- Prefer to have a priority system. We used to highlight the tasks to show their level of priority, but the highlight does not show on new task board.

5. Canceled appointments - we have to jump through so many hoops to confirm an appt is canceled, otherwise the owner gets reminders for the appointment (may be more Rapport, but I don't think so)

6. Images used to load in chart and not download every time

7. Recurring appointments default to Sunday, even if you create the appointment on another day.

I have a lot more, but you get the gist.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am unsure if it's solving anything, besides keeping us from using paper charts.

 ### 31. LOVEEEEE eVet

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Very user friendly. Very aesthetic. Very very very very modern compared to all the other veterinary softwares. This is the biggest thing. All the other softwares like AviMark and Cornerstone look like we were built with a rock and some sticks.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Put the 'Print Patient Label' back where it was so I don't have to extend the options every time I wanna print it. Y'all cloud / connection needs to figure it out sometimes CAUSE WHY IS IT ALWAYS 'We're experiencing some issues' HUHHHHH?

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like looking/using the program. A lot more compared to AviMark and Cornerstone. Y'all made me realize the veterinary softwares don't have to look crusty and dusty and like they're were made in the 1600's

 ### 32. Practice Manager

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason P. | Practice Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Pulse is very user friendly and easy to learn.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I wish the formatting and ease of use for the client communication campaigns were better.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Practice Software

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Jason - Thanks for taking the time to share your review with the veterinary community. Your feedback is at the heart of everything we do.

 ### 33. Glitchy

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cinthia H. | Owner/Veterinarian in Charge, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Can use from any location with internet access.
Ease of loading images from email and attaching emails, sending records.
Ease of text/email to clients (good client communication options).
Invoicing relatively easy, unless you have to search for something (e.g. search for "exam" and it brings up EVERYTHING with the word "exam" including exam gloves.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Difficult to find things in medical record after conversion, especially previous medications (Control F helps, but not always).
Reports that were supposed to be easy are NOT intuitive to get what you need (no easier than AviMark was, but when you get report at least appears more accurate).
Times out when you are working in a report or task. There are tricks to make sure you don't lose your information.
Log in and provider selection boxes don't scroll with you (minor dumb irritation).
Days the program gets slow, is not responding, incomplete loading of pages (refresh is your friend, but irritating when you have to do it multiple times). We monitor our internet connection and it has been fine, so not due to that.
Both major releases in past year (task list and exam reports) had to be rolled back within 2 days to fix issues. These should be addressed in non-production environment (but could be due to Azure being the cloud services provider as cloud geeks I know say Azure is a difficult environment to program in).
Exam report printout takes up too many pages, space could be used much more effectively.
Overall "glitchiness" of program gets very frustrating and slows down flow of appointments.
1st recommendation from support with any issue is "clear cache and cookies", which we now do everynight before shutdown and still having issues.
Some forms printout different than shows on screen of Pulse's word processor. You cannot easily convert a word document into Pulse's word processor (have to start from scratch).

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier client communication.
Ability to work off site.
On site server no longer needed (however that was more reliable...)

 ### 34. ***UPDATE***Has potential but needs a lot of work

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

UPDATE: Recently, I have had our rep reach out as well as a few from other departments that were incredibly helpful. They began introducing the integration options they have rececntly begun, including Pharmacy and Compounding. The new features are pretty exciting for whomever wants toreach the goal of streamlining and ease. I'm looking forward to really utilizing these new features/integrations. Pulse is still an overwhelming beast BUT I might be a little more forgiving as we move forward!

Almost a double edged sword. The things I like are also manyof the things I don't like.
*** Evet/Pulse makes it easy to navigate from one animal to another on the same account.
*** I am all about settings and having the ability to modify, personalize, etc at anytime. Evet, overall, allows this.
*** From an HR perspective, adding employees and allowing or NOT allowing access is easy.
*** Their Chat customer Service is great! Hardly ever any waiting and so far, they have all been knowledgeable, answering my questions or solving my problems very quickly.
*** It also integrates with Idexx really well. It makes it easy to send lab requisitions and to receive results.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Well. Payment integration is an absolute joke. The main merchant, World Pay, is expensive and not a first choice at all. Gravity was the original prior to Covestrus, then the announcement of no longer using Gravity made many jump into action to find a new merchant only for Covetrus to say Just Kidding and keep Gravity. Too late for many who had chose another merchant. At this point it's a total messy nightmare and in the end, we have to deal with "Old" Gravity, "New" Gravity, Clover and the middle man - Animal Care Technologies.
*** Not very user friendly and definitely not easy to navigate. I love learning ne software/programs, etc but after 4 months, I still don't know where to go when I need something particular. A ton of areas to navigate to but that is actually what makes it unpleasant. Too extensive and links you think would take you one place, end up taking you to another. When on a call and someone needs a quick answer, that isn't always how it goes.
*** Back to payments, the inability to modify a invoice after payment can be a total nightmare. Sometimes I can make necessary changes and other times not so much. Regardless of permissions. When my numbers aren't matching because of an incorrect entry, I should have the ability to change as I see fit.
*** Reports. How in the holy heck do I go about putting together these reports when they don't make a whole lot of sense? I have to use the options given to create a report and although there are may options, each practice is different so being able to create a report that has what is needed no matter how random should be a given. THEN, when saving/printing a copy of a report, there is no way to set it up so that the important criteria you need is how it prints/saves. I need the excelsheet it imports to to have very specific columns and the amount of time put into reformatting the spreadsheet is a waste of valueable time that could be put towards something more business beneficial.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vetsuite sounds amazing and with the integration of the online pharmacy AND compounding, this will be a huge benefit for makig the process so much easier.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with Covetrus Pulse. Your feedback matters and will help to shape our veterinary portfolio and our mission to keep veterinary practices thriving. We will pass this on to our product team for review.

 ### 35. Very happy with the transition to Pulse, very user friendly cloud software.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah M. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

There are several ways to accomplish every task in the system so that each person can find their ideal workflow and become more efficient. I learn new ways of doing things constantly that make the program even easier to use than I ever imagined.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The reporting system isn't great but we also haven't found any cloud based software with decent reporting compared to server based software I have used in the past.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The integrations are wonderful (internal lab equipment, Rapport reminder system and app) and basically saves us so much time it is equivalent to a part time employee. We also use the integrated payment solution and while I do not love the credit card company itself (lackluster customer support) the text to pay option has been great for our clients.

 ### 36. Pulse...

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle H. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The interface is pretty simple for support staff to learn and navagate. The train your staff section works well.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The reporting is hard to utilize, it doesn't offer the options to pull reports like other software. The inventory count seems to be off a lot. There is not a way to simplify medical records when sending to referral or other clinics. The advanced training is somewhat nonexistent, the support team is hit or miss when trying to figure out if something can be done. They roll new options and then those options do not work or crash. Or tell you to put things in as a feature request.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not sure I understand the question, it helps us run the day to day business of the clinic

 ### 37. Easy to get started/easy to learn!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trisha D. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

We love the wellness plans and the fact that we can easily track items still owed from packages. Also, the Idexx integration is great as is the task list!

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

We wish that we could include a package within a package (for example, add an anesthesia/sedation package to a surgery). Instead, you have to add each individual component and then hope the team remembers to remove everything not utilized!

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to learn resulting in more efficient training. Lab integration is wonderful, results flow back effortlessly and they are much easier to locate.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

That it is cloud-based, so no server is required

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The amount of errro messages - but they do seem to resolve quickly

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Covetrus as our one stop PM software

**Official Response from Beth Gruber:**

> Hi Megan - Thanks for taking the time to share your review with the veterinary community. Your feedback is at the heart of everything we do.

 ### 39. The positives and negatives of pulse

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bethany W. | Registered veterinary technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I like how the schedule looks and the ease of making an appointment. I also like the task feature which allows the techs and receptionist let the doctors know what needs to be done. Lastly I like that we can record client communications in their record. Their customer service people are really wonderful and helpful!

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I dislike the prescription labels as the instructions print pretty small on them especially for multi line instructions. It can also be hard at times to find stuff since there are so many categories. I feel like we were never properly trained and there's always new things to discover on our own.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us to organize and operate our clients and patients.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> We’re so happy we could be there to help you provide your patients with great care. Your feedback is integral to us and to the veterinary industry. Keep thriving!

 ### 40. My favorite PMS so far!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I have been working in veterinary medicine for 14 years now, and have used 7 different PMS systems throughout my career. When I learned that my newest clinic would be using Pulse, I have to be honest...I had never heard of it! I was filled with dread at the thought of learning yet another PMS. I'm about 60 days in... and I'm completely converted! I absolutely love Pulse. It presents information in a way that I find easy to navigate; my staff feel the same way. My favorite features so far are the "Tasks" page (callbacks, assignments, etc.) and the Covetrus order invoice integration. I also like that several websites are integrated directly into Pulse, such as our online pharmacy and Care Credit.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Like other PMS systems I have worked with there is more than one "correct" way to do many things -- this can be tricky when training new staff that have not used to software.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have historically had a tough time keeping up with client "callbacks" - getting my DVMs/techs to remember to call people about lab results, check on postop patients, etc. I like that Pulse creates these reminders automatically.

 ### 41. Most of the functions are good but there are some that feel unusually cumbersome.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The interaction with scheduling, finding clients, seeing what clients are due for, etc. Reports are also very helpful and easy to use. Making small changes to pricing and procedures and tracking inventory.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Getting from MR to billing to other info is sometimes cumbersome and takes more time than it should to perform functions. Entering info into MR and retriving it is not an easy process and training only identified that we needed to establish our own uses. We were never helped with the pros and cons or how to make the choices of what works best for our clinic. Also would be nice to have client numbers available in more places than having to go back to info page.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous system was no longer supported which forced us to change. Our inventory was one of the items that lacked the most and integrating it with Covetrus ordering has been benficial.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> We are grateful you took the time to review Covetrus Pulse as your feedback matters to us so we can continue to shape our portfolio to support the needs of veterinary practices just like yours.

 ### 42. Overall good, could do with more frequent edits/updates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

We like the fact that it's cloud based, as we moved from server based. It's a lot simpler, not as busy compared to other cloud-based software we have used in the past. Lots of good quality of life features. We really appreciated our implimentation person, the customer support she offered was excellent and while there was a lot of work to do, she was always excellent at communicating and jumping on a call with me when needed. The chat support feature is really wonderful too, all the staff we've worked with through there have been incredibly knowledgable about the software, they're prompt and thorough.. and if they don't know, when they contact their supervisors it is also quick to find an answer.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

We really wish there were more frequent updates for feature requests, as there are cumulatively lots of little things that need to be updated and altered to make the system make more sense.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They help us dramatically cut down on the time we used to spend on our server-based software doing updates and other housekeeping tasks. It has reduced our need for IT support being a monthly thing to just a few times a year.
Being able to log-in from anywhere means ease of use for at-home visits and after hours catch-up on notes etc.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> We’re so glad to hear about your experience. Thanks for being a great partner and we look forward to seeing your practice continue to thrive.

 ### 43. Good option for PIMS but room for lots of improvements

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Being cloud based, it's great to be able to access from anywhere.

I love that we can search for clients and pets by any part of their information. It has made it so easy to locate files for pets that have owners with different names or an rx request gets sent to us and the owner's name isn't in our system but we can find them by address.

Antech lab ordering and results integration is great.

Appointment calandar is very user friendly and easy to use.

Live chat has been invaluable when we have questions that pop up that aren't answered in the Knowledge Base.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Inventory is a nightmare. If we use lots and get sent something with a closer expiration date than a currently open tray, the software starts pulling from the closer expiration product, which is terrible for vaccines in the event of a reaction we need to report.

When inputting purchase orders, inactive items pop up as options which slows us down and makes more things to weed through. Also, being able to see what is on order in inventory management would be great to avoid double ordering. In AviMark, items on a purchase order were bold and blue.

We don't like that there is no indication from a patient's medical record if items have been posted. In AviMark, things that weren't checked out were bold and blue to easily differentiate charges that have not been posted.

The worklist needs tweaked to be able to mark tasks as "In Progress" to eaily note if an entry has been seen and is being worked on.

Any changes to any entries should be trackable by staff member's initials. Again, in avimark you could run a report on changes to any item, patient, task list entry, and client.

When an exam form is added to a medical record, the weight box should be empty. Many times this causes a pet's weight to not be updated because they think they already did it since the number is there.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Pulse, we have much fewer outages, attached documents are easier to open, and being able to have owners sign documents directly in the pet's file has freed up a lot of time that was dedicated to scanning and attaching consent forms.

Being an avid Avimark user, Pulse is the enhanced, cloud version of Avimark, with many more features. Simple to use with great support when needed. Easy training for new users and transition has been amazing! The migration steps were very direct and guided which made transition from the old cloud-based system to Pulse super easy. This software meets our needs better than others we tried. Support has been fabulous!

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Sometimes the system can slow down which causes issues.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pulse is much more user friendly than our previous cloud-based software. In addition, it integrates with everything from our online store to all diagnostic services we use to on-site diagnostics.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> Thanks for taking the time to share your review with the veterinary community. Your feedback is at the heart of everything we do.

 ### 45. Pulse is user friendly.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kindra H. | LVT, practice manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

We upgrading to Pulse from Avimark. The best thing is how user-friendly it is and somewhat intuitive. What does integrate with Pulse does so well. We enjoy the ease of accessiblilty of it as we do utilize a mobile clinic as well. The chat feature with support is a big plus and customer service is always helpful.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

There are certain features that users have been promised that don't seem to be actively being worked on. The integration with Idexx labs is very lacking and this would be my main concern when suggesting Pulse to another practice.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pulse provides ease of accessibility by being a cloud-based system.

 ### 46. Swapping from Impromed to Pulse- Solo DVM Practice

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley W. | Practice Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

We really like the work flow, the ease of use for the medical system and record keeping. Inventory is very well tracked and easy to recieve in. Customer support has been helpful for the most part.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The reporting system is very complex and you aren't provided aquequate training on it when you start up.
Also would be nice if some of the back end practice management practices are shown in the demos as that may help people in their choice.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Capturing missed charges and keeping our front desk from checking out clients that are not marked as complete and ready to go.

 ### 47. OK PIMS

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I do like the way to make appointments and pet information that is displayed easily. Customer help is good unless they just send you articles that are prior to their updates so items are different.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

It does lag at times and I wish it made inventory a little easier as far as getting reports to control COGs, as well when you toggle an item to make it inactive (no longer use at the practice, etc) it can still be dispensed as a refill instead of an alert telling that item is no longer available. Also, constant changes or lags at times. Also, you can't write notes in pets that are deceased medical records, we usually like to write -condolence card sent or ashes picked up but to this you have to make the pet alive again then write your note then mark them deceased again.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are trying to solve the issue of allowing medication to be dispensed if it is red (a product we no longer use) and it is refilled. A constant challenge.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> Your practice is at the heart of everything we do, and so is your feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

 ### 48. We thought we hated our old software, but we were wrong

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Pop-up alerts for patient/client notes
Schedule recheck from patient MR
Writeback for online Rxs through our online pharmacy
Inventory management
Quick invoicing

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I feel like we were mislead that this program would improve workflow. I thought upon speaking with the salesman that it was much more like Avimark and would have dictation- a service that is only coming to the software soon? I have given it 4 months- hinking we need to get used to the new software, but it is still not any better. The list of this we like about Pulse is much shorter than what we dislike. To name a few things we dislike:
Having to download every document to either view or print- huge time and space waste
Having to sign up for a completely separate service for SMS messages
Having to manually fix all reminders because the data import created a reminder for each instance of whichever service has a reminder
Difficult to find medications that have been prescribed previously, especially if they were purchased online
Having to go to the treatment tab and sometimes having multiple treatment instances open
Length of time it takes in-house lab equipment to receive request from software
Trying to login in when someone's session has expired. Logins are often messed up unless you start from completely logged out.
SEO is awful

Onboarding was fine, but team training was poor. Having a person come and actually show us things in the software would have been much more helpful. We didn't know what questions to ask without knowing what it could and could not do. After complaing to CareVet that we wanted our old software back, we had a meeting with developers to voice our concerns/complaints. I felt like they were acting as though the things we were asking for were impossible. The vets and hospital managers on the call only knew about or were requesting certain features because we had used them before on other PMS, so they are not impossible.

In short, this software has decreased our workflow. We are only continuing to use it because we are contractually obligated and it is cost prohibitive to switch back. The only instance I would recommend this software is if you had never worked with a veterinary PMS and didn't know better.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It creates more problems than it solves

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with Covetrus Pulse. Your feedback matters and will help to shape our veterinary portfolio and our mission to keep veterinary practices thriving. We will pass this on to our product team for review.

 ### 49. Quality Practice Management system that is easy to use and is affordable.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer O. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

We are a fairly new practice, so we were looking for a Practice Management system that wasn't going to break the bank but that also did what we needed it to do. We had originally started with another cloud-based system, but figured out early on that it was not going to meet our needs. EVet meets our needs and is very easy to use. If you have any questions their techs are right on it, I never need to wait for an answer to a question or a fix to a problem I might have.
Edit - We have been using EVet now for over 2 years and are still completely satisfied. Their customer service is fantastic!

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I wish there were a few more reports for inventory, some times I have to look at a few places to get all the answers I need.
Edited - 1 year later - EVet has improved many of their reports, making it much easier to control our inventory.

**Recommendations to others considering Covetrus Pulse:**

It is definitely worth giving a try if you are looking for a cloud-based system. Their customer support is top-notch and the system is very easy to use.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem we solved and the benefit we realized was the ease of communicating with our clients. You can easily send a text or an email with just one click. Also, we are paper light, so having all of the documents in the patient account, easily accessed is very helpful.

**Official Response from PHILLIP LAUGHTON:**

> Thanks for being a great customer and for sharing your feedback with us.

 ### 50. Covetrus Pulse - sticking to the basics

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** taylor s. | Digital communications and marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Covetrus categorizes patient medical records making it easy to find necessary documentation.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Coventrus continues to make unnecessary "improvments" that dont seem to align with common office needs. For exampl, they unnecessary updated the task dashboard feature making it more complicated to use.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ease of client communication with tasks / call backs.
