I loved eVet before the merger.
I appreciate the Feature Request link! It helps me feel not so alone in my tiny frustrations seeing others that think like me :)

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The Client/Patient search engine is SO frustrating. The eVet version was much better as it offered several areas to narrow a search, whereas now I can only search for one thing. Ever tried searching Fluffy without a last name? With the previous version, I could search for Fluffy the Canine French Bulldog with an owner that has a first name that starts with J.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have used this for our client software from the very beginning and gave feedback and suggestions for improvements while the software was being built. We would still love to see a few features, but the software works well for our business model.

Very fast customer service/tech help when needed while using it.

There is a lot of logging in and out and they require a longer password and email that just takes up a lot of time throughout the day.

They helped our practice go paperless. Also I was having a problem with our lab codes the one day recently to get them integrated with Idexx and it was solved in about 5 minutes.

I love that, for the most part, everything is relatively user-friendly. What I love most, however, is that if I ever encounter an issue, the chat help function is wonderful and almost always garners a response that solves my issue immediately.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I dislike that, if "too many" access items are checked for a specific employee, it somehow affects the functioning of eVet for our practice.

I work in the feline specialty industry, so we are "solving" the use of paper-only records, which we used to use soley. The benefits are lack of physical space used, typed records are much more legible, and finding records is much more efficient.

Any time I've encountered an issue while using eVetPractice, the live chat feature and support team have been fantastic at getting the issue solved quickly and efficiently.

Server errors are rather frequent, and seem to be the one type of issue that can't be solved quickly and efficiently.

There are a lot of integration options for common services, such as IDEXX, that simplify the day to day workflow.

Chart organization is good. Client layout easy to follow and customizable. Doesn't suit our practice 100% since we are a non-traditional vet type office, but it gets the job done.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Soooooo slow! Website constantly crashes and has downtime. When you're very busy this puts a huge wrench in the day, and it often happens first thing in the morning so then the whole day is already chaotic.

None that I am aware of, except the ones in the suggestion box. We'd all like time stamps on the taskboard, as well as have it show who put the entry on the taskboard.

The best thing about Pulse is the customer support. It is easy to chat and get help with anything you might need. You can also integrate your wellness plans which is very helpful!

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

While it is also a positive, Pulse is web based so when the internet is down, things can be a hassle. Also, the server can get overrun causing Pulse to run slowly at times.

A lot of times with their monthly updates, Pulse will encounter bugs within the system causing certain things to not operate properly. However, they are pretty quick to get those fixed.

Some of the updates seem like they aren't completely thought out, some features also seem to be incomplete.

**Recommendations to others considering Covetrus Pulse:**

It is a great cloud-based software that is easy to use and seems to have a lot of features and frequent updates. I recommend doing a consult first and discussing any "needs" you have for your daily operations to make sure that they offer everything that you need. So far I have not found any issues to that degree, just small things here or there that I think would be with any company. Even when there is an issue they are very helpful via chat or the phone and if you want to make a request for a change you can do so online and if they get enough requests for the same thing sometimes they implement that in their frequent updates.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to have a server-based platform that any time the server would go out we would be unable to do business. I like that you can login anywhere, even from a phone, and conduct business. I also like that you can restrict logging in to certain IP addresses. I like the integrations that they have that we have used. After the initial setup most things are relatively easy to use.

I dislike some parts of the checkout portion. If using multiple payment methods for one transaction, it does not do the math for you. That then results in longer wait times for the customers.

I do like that the written prescriptions and documents are easy to get to and include all pertinent information. I also like that we can order directly from Patterson.

I dislike that on other programs things that take about a minute take 5 minutes on Pulse, like declining a medication. Really doing much of anything takes a long time.

Easy to use and figure out without a whole lot of guidance. New staff are able to navigate on their own.

I wish there was an easy log in like when we used a PIN not a longer password. And an easy quick button to log off (eg F1 button to lock screen)

Emailing client appt reminders eliminates a lot of calls.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The ease of using the software and it is always very dependable. You have the option to chat with someone if you have any  problems they are available all the time. Evetpractice makes it very easy for both the veterinarian and the practice to use and helps you communicate with one another efficiently. I love using the inventory feature as it tracks all inventory that comes and goes throughout the practice.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I found the setup to be confusing at first. I wish you didn't have to go through too many steps to do certain things. I definitely had trouble getting used to the format in the beginning. Then I got used to the layout so now I have no problem using it.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had trouble getting used to the format at first as it seemed a bit overwhelming, But knowing there's always someone we can chat with right away with the icon in the corner is reassuring. We are able to easily read and choose certain things in the pets' charts. It is easy for veterinarians to navigate as they need to access things quickly. I have benefitted in ways that it's easy to read things to clients and organize appointments better on the schedule.

Main thing that evet is in the cloud and not onsite local server that have to manage. It because way cheaper cost to matain and keeping up verses having to need proper posonell to troubleshooting out network and local servers each and every time something goes down

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Right now evet only supports dymo label printers and also not just dymo but the older version of the label printer the 450 model which since to be going offline every so often when shared on our network with 10 plus computers . Dymo doesn't even sell 450 any more but the new 559 which evet has a work around for but not fully compatible and not able to use them both on the same site

Mainly the fact that is online makes it much easier for all our Doctors , techs and others to access it it from outside our office network like at home to put in reports etc instead of having VPN and remote solution into the office each time

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I like seeing all 4 of our doctor's schedules. I like the color coding of appointment types. I like being able to repeat special appointment times/blocks. We like that the pet's weight is readily seen when quick invoicing, such as for preventatives.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

We all hate how often Evet goes down or slows down, making it very difficult to do our jobs. The recent new format/spacing makes it difficult to see active patient names, current username and also double spaces appointment descriptions, making it very difficult to type an accurate description. I have repeatedly complained about the process of adding reminders, as it is poorly designed. EVERY time you do it, you have to change 3 dates manually. Most clients have more than one reminder needed and it would be much easier if you could do it in a similar way to when you enter prior vaccinations. I have noticed that after every update, a random selection of our clients get their emails blocked, even though there is no problem with their email address.  When you switch months while looking at calendar for appointments, it then switches you back a month, making it easy to choose a date, but in the wrong month.

Evet is always updating there software based on customer reviews. They are always very easy to contact via phone or there integrated chat. If they cannot help they will assist you by finding work arounds in the system. It is also highly customizable. Would recommend.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Sometimes they can be slow with resolving known issues. Because of the level of customization errors in formatting can occur and the reason is unknown. For examply when making a document a text check box can  be built but evet does not support it so the documents after they are signed will not save. however, I do feel like its s minor issue that I hope will be resolved shortly.

Highly recommend over other internet based PMS

Evet is constantly updating. Therefore they are always solvimg ome problem or another. Either via integrating care credit to assist in end of day reporting or allowing holding credit cards in a safe a secure manor. Also the new task board assists in prioritizing call backs.

Customize everything for our paractice.  And  much more.

There are a few great things about e-vet. They automatically integrate a lot of our labwork, which is great. They also make staying on task with multiple patients easy with the Whiteboard function.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The biggest irritation our clinic has had with evet is the unnecessary cosmetic changes they make on occasion. Sometimes, the invoice section can act up, especially if you're a split practice. We have a boarding/daycare facility, next to our vet clinic, and sometimes the daycare charges get double placed or locked for no reason.

It's a lot easier for all of our staff to work together on problems with multiple patients than the other software we have tried. Things run smoother, so we're able to get in and out of appointments more efficiently.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

It is similar to a license/workstation practice software in that it is intuitive but it is far more user friendly than many licensed PSs

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Cannot customize reminders as much as I'd like. We're missing opportunities to maintain great client compliance and capture charges. No way to establish core needs. Historical vaccines are clunky at best. 
Requisitioning labs- slow, challenging to correct providers, unpleasant all labs are req'd at once despite selection.
Callbacks/tasks need categories and ability to assign a type of callback to a certain category (ie. receptionist, tech, dr) because 95% of the services generating callbacks are under the veterinary provider however the vet doesn't want any callbacks assigned to him. Ex. I should be able to link a callback to surgical services so they automatically generate a callback 1 day after and 5 days after for a technician or receptionist to call for an update. The service is under the vet, therefore the callback is assigned to him and he doesn't want that. So they must be manually added for each patient and assigned to techs- extra work for the nurses.

It is a better cloud software and great for general practice. It truly helps us practice medicine well with increased compliance. I have declined job offers because they've used certain softwares. It matters a great deal because you're using it constantly.

Client communication is a huge benefit and Rapport is really great for aiding in compliance. Instead of reports to examine, it's automatic. Since I've started 6 months ago we've added more reminders and client callbacks.

My favorite aspect of eVetPractice is the fact that it is a web-based program.  It makes communications with clients much easier than other software programs.  The quick links that can generate documents to email to clients such as rabies certificates or medical records with a couple of mouse clicks is great.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

As with many other web-based programs, some software updates can have some bugs that need to be fixed.  There are also many third-party companies with compatible programs (integrations) that are not notified of these updates prior, therefore they can have a negative impact on operations for integrations such as online appointment schedulers.

eVet has helped us streamline our clinic's flow, which is great for high-volume practices like mine.

I like that I can access evet anywhere. It is easy to learn how to use it. I like that you can customize it to your practice. I like that you can create many different email templates for client communication and education and it saves it on the PMS as proof of communication. I like that you can add medical images to review progress of disease or treatment.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Please change the new login feature!  No one will log out because it is so tedious to re-log back in. We prefer the pin method because it was fast and easy. Now no one logs out and services that were performed are put under the wrong employee. 
Make a quick PIN login and and F12 shirt code to log out like Avimark. 


It takes FOREVER for reports to load. I wish that it had an employee scheduling system that would track their attendance. We use attendance to distribute bonuses. I wish that the abaxis urinalysis machine would integrate so we
Don't have to manually add urinalysis results. I wish the SOUND xrays would integrate from our PACS automatically. I wish that there was a short code to log out like Avinark has (F12) to prevent another user from Coming behind you and entering charges or communications in you name. I also wish that when an employee puts there PIN to whether charges or sends a a Pop up message to clock in if they haven't yet. When a sick patient comes in we have a callback reminder to trigger in 2 days, a pop up to modify what they are calling about.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Most things are easy to access, and the program is easy to navigate. Booking and changing appointments is simple, and invoicing in Quick Invoicing is quick and straightforward. We are a busy Mixed Animal Practice, and we like that we can utilize the program from devices at home or on the road.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

How many characters do you allow me to use?

The system does not handle the amount of inventory that we use. We frequently have issues with inventory being taken out or the program changing inventory when we are "using multiple screens". This is frustrating, and "support" or your "tech department" does not seem to be able to figure out how to fix this.

Stop updating things that are not broken. Focus on things that need to be fixed. 
Our practice is extremely put off regarding the recent update that removed the pin access. The new log-in system is slow and frustrating; it takes a few seconds to find your name on the scroll down menu, a few seconds for the screen to pop up with your password and then it takes a few extra seconds to type my full password. The addition of 10-20 seconds each time a staff member needs to order bloodwork, put through a payment, book an appointment, write in the medical record, etcetera really adds up (and also adds to our frustration). 10-20 seconds/ log-in doesn't sound like much, but I don't even want to know how many times each one of our 20 staff members logs into E-Vet a day, so 10-20 seconds a log-in does matter. Note: This isn't even including the multiple times a day where the screen gets stuck on the "loading" page for so long I have to open a new tab or refresh the page even to log in. Clearly, no one in your tech department has worked in a busy clinic setting where you are trying to hold a dog while ordering bloodwork and invoicing at the same time (all with only one hand). The pin feature was quick, effective, and secure.  We have requested change, but feel like we are not heard - and we are not the only user feeling like this. Others have said that this would drive them to choose a new program to use. The unnecessary updates that make things MORE DIFFICULT need to stop.

Booking appointments and managing the day-to-day workings of the practice is easier to do- therefore, we are more productive. We can be more efficient when we have a customer on the phone, as most of the time, we can access information quicker.

The scheduling function is really nice.  I love having the ability to drag and drop appointments to move them, as well as having quick access to schedule from clicking on a cell.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The problems started with the implementation process.  Our eVet rep changed halfway through the process and the one that took over was not supportive through the time leading up to the transition or afterward.  Staff were only given 1 hour of a virtual training, and it was very basic--it didn't go into how they would actually do things in practice.  On the day of the transition, we had very little support from eVet, and afterward we quickly resorted to reaching out to the general support line for help because of the lack of response from our assigned rep.  The program itself has also been incredibly challenging to work with, and  5 months into the process, we are still waiting for the integration with VetsFirstChoice to be fixed.  There have been all kinds of issues with the migrated data coming over from our old PIMS and problems that weren't discovered until after we were off the migration server--and once you're off that server, there's nothing they can do to fix large global issues even though those issues were from tasks that were not completed on their end prior to the migration.  I would not recommend this PIMS, and we are thankful that the corporate entity that we have now partnered with will be building their own PIMS, so we will not be stuck with it in the long run.

None.  It has made our recordkeeping more difficult.  In theory, things would be improved when it comes to the online pharmacy integration, but with that feature not working, there has been very little, if any, benefit.

A web based system is the way to go. Being able to work anywhere is great. Tech support is very good. Very easy to correct mistakes in teh setup process. Tech remote access is great.

The system is frequently slow due to eVet, not my in-house. The reports and price-changing functionalities are well below Avimark's level. System updates are frequently of no increased value to the ability to use the system. A very "clicky" interface.

Flexibility in the ability to work from anywhere. Setting up different processes, like reminders, is easier and less consequential than Avimark. No longer rely on an in-house server.

With eVetPractice, you can log on from anywhere, desktops, laptops, or mobile devices.  It is user-friendly software with many features. I love that the clients have a portal with limited access to their records. I am not technologically advanced, but I can figure my way around this PMS. Customer Service is superb, fast, friendly, and reliable.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The Reports could improve; they do take longer to populate especially monthly reports. I would love to have a  dedicated commission feature. I would like to see a PIN prompt before posting payments.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy access from any workstation. If the internet fails, I am not worried as we can use cellular hotspots to gain access and never miss a beat during our busy workdays. Housecalls are fun again, as we can invoice whenever, wherever.  I love that I do not need to install PMS software anywhere, and there is no need for expensive servers.

eVet does a great job, considering how much information there is to process, organize, and store. 
My favorite thing about eVet is the customer service and support. They are always very helpful and knowledgeable. I love how the team is handling the new changes on the horizon, specifically their approach to community engagement and feedback along the whole process. They seem responsive to feature requests and genuinely interested in improving the user experience. 
I wish they had more customizability, but I also appreciate the amount of customizable options that they do have! 
Also, I think they do a great job of implementing features to help us communicate with colleagues about patients across the hospital.
I love the reminder system and the inventory management system.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I'm not too fond of the way the software processes and organizes financial transactions and information. Accepting payments for goods and services is pretty universal across business needs and doesn't need to be built from the ground up or customized for our profession  (like animal medical records and appointment scheduling is).  Invoicing and collecting payments ends up really complicated and confusing for everyone involved, and I'm not sure why it has to be like that!
Most other things I dislike are just little things that get on my nerves, like having the schedule in a window on the page instead of just on the page, which forces me to scroll in two different panes, and I can't see the pop up highlights properly within the window.
I don't particularly appreciate when they have a feature that we don't use that we can't turn off, so we have to find weird workarounds, but that's going to be a thing with any software. 
The reports feature could be much improved. I've worked with software before that had a wonderful tagging system that basically allowed you to run any available report in combination with any other available report. It was really nice. I find eVet's reports to come with a steep learning curve.
I wish they stored a temporary history of certain changes to a medical record or payment history that managers could review. 
Overall, I appreciate eVet as a great medical records software.

I have never used other medical record software but I would recommend eVet, especially with the new changes around the corner. It's very exciting!

seems like we need to make so many clicks to get to one page. DVM get confused easy if things are hidden with the drop down options.

Currently, we have issues with overdraft charges. Not sure if it's Evet or the credit card machine. Evet, for example, will reflect 80 dollars due, and when the card is swiped, 100 dollars have been taken off of the client's bank account, and 20 dollars have been put as a credit.

It’s definitely geared more toward small animal practices, so we’ve had some struggles adapting it to our ambulatory equine practice. The program fails to evolve and change with the demands of its users. Constantly making small cosmetic changes while ignoring the larger functionality issues that need to be addressed.

If you're looking for a good inventory control program, look elsewhere.

There are very few things i don't like about eVet. One thing would be the inability to add specific categories to the patient info, for example; instead of tattoo or marking it would be helpful if there were an area to put insurance policy numbers.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The inventory management side is very thorough and easy to use. Time clock management is very easy. Reports are nice, although they need to be more customizable. The package section is nice but does have some flaws.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Exam notes are not linked to charges (we used Avimark prior) so it is a double input for everything. Reports should be able to be customized further. Inventory can only be associated with one inventory item which makes it difficult to set up items properly. After 7 months of use, the invoicing section is still very confusing for my team.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Production for doctors has been much better managed since starting with EVet Practice. The wellness plans have been great to use and I like that the accounting for those stays inside the wellness plans and not on the AR report.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

My favorite aspect of eVetpractice is how intuitive it is to navigate and how it remembers my recent patients for quick access.  It is way easier than Cornerstone. I also love the lab tab.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I don't love the invoicing. I wish an open invoice would be visible on 1 screen, even if you add at different times, and in 1 window. I do not like seeing line items as

It is easier to be organized and to save time by creating templates.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Relatively easy to use for staff. Training videos are helpful. Do most of the things that need to be done for the clinic.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

So many updates that are making it slow.  Feature request is kind of usuless.  Helpline open hours are not great for PT. Patient files are slow to open if it's big.

**Recommendations to others considering Covetrus Pulse:**

Overall it's a decent program. Easy to train staff but if you live west coast you need to be aware that you will not get support after 3pm

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best part for us was its cloud base program, and we do not need server anymore. I do not see extra benefits compared to other programs out there but also not the worst for sure.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The color scheme and schedule. I also like just deleting what you didn't use in your charges. I enjoy the different colors for different appointments and being able to change them if needed. I also like the whiteboard and taskboard.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Too much clicking to get where you need to be. Also EXTREMELY slow at times. It takes 1 minute or longer for a package to load after you have put the charge in for it.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier to read schedule with color cordination. I like being able to see who made the appointment or note because it will have the person's name within it. Benefits include catching and fixing mistakes if you know who did it.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

How intuitive eVet is. It's very to easy to navigate even when you're totally unfamiliar with the product.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

How eVet is not being updated anymore because they're only focused on the new eVet product. Everything is falling apart and going to the wayside.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not many problems are being solved with eVet that can't be solved with another PIM. eVet used to stand apart from all the other PIMS until Covetrus acquired it. They've degraded eVet to the point that even logging in is a nightmare (and the Wellness Plans, Whiteboard, and Tasks list are awful). I see a lot of potential in other PIMS now because of this.
