**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

User friendly. Pulse is easy to use. One screen will get you set up for just about anything you need on a pet or a client. Lots of integrations so labs, microchips, X-rays, etc can be kept all in one place with ease. 
Gives you the capability to be a paperless clinic.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I wish that inventory items could be bundled with more than one other inventory or that there was some sort of preset for a combo vaccine that wasn't made by a package. 
If you don't have reliable internet then you risk system going down with internet.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's services as record keeping for our clinic. Lots of report options from sales to services to price change etc. Easy to keep up with what is going on inside the clinic

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

There are a lot of functions that Pulse offers that other cloud-based software packages don't which is what drew us to changing to Pulse.  It's very user-friendly and very intuitive which I like a lot.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The conversion was tough and didn't go as planned despite all of the pre-work that was done.  It also took much longer to complete.  Also, the trainer we had was terrific but it's hard to get everyone trained and up-to-speed when they're only able to watch tapes of zoom calls.  Nothing like having someone on site to troubleshoot problems and answer the multitude of questions that were bound to come up.

It's definitely saving the staff a lot of time during the day which is a big consideration.

The Customer Service has always been great. These lovely people go above and beyond to solve an issue, and if they can't, they get my case to the correct department, and I ALWAYS hear back about a resolution. They Rock!

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The new search feature for clients/patients.  The original program allowed for multiple search areas simultaneously to find a Dog named Bingo with the Owner's first name starting with L.
Now I only have one search parameter and the list that generates is IN NO ORDER WHATSOEVER!  If I can only search for Bingo, at least set the Last Name to sort alphabetically! So frustrating!!

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My hospital has been here from Day 1 of eVetPractice. The software is pretty easy to navigate and train new staff on. I work more behind the scenes now with inventory and the email/text side of Customer Service, and I love the Online Payment option - I do wish there were options for integrations on the text side because we have NOT had good luck with Rapport.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

Is straightforward to use for the most part, has a modern look. fairly easy to bring up accounts and find patients.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The accounting needs to be fixed so it is easier to view all in one screen including historical balances, and not show the system adjustments to clients. 
Discounts need to be in an amount as well as the percentage.  
Packages need to be fixed so that we can have a group price that actually adjusts when inventory quantities are changed, and have the ability to hide the prices on the line items without just making them all 0. This portion of the program makes absolutely no sense and every program I have used has had this ability. 
When adding a new patient it asks if you would like to go to schedule an appointment which is great, but it brings you to a useless screen and not the actual calendar.
 The calendar glitches when switching between the month/day view and going back. 
 The price check needs the ability to show what items are in a package and to show the tier pricing, right now i have to give all employees access to our inventory so they can adequately check costs. 
Need the option to give only certain clients discounts automatically on certain items ex: in cornerstone we had gold clients as a classification and inventory items that also had a gold client discount classification so that only gold clients got discounts only on those specific items, right now its an all or nothing discount on everything including services and the only way to overcome that is to exclude discounts on the product which removes are ability to discount it for ALLL clients. 
It takes a million clicks to print anything. 
The receiving inventory function is garbage and causes us to have to repeat the same process twice in order to receive anything. 
The reports are just rudimentary altogether. Support isn't even helpful because they say they are not trained well in the reports. They told me don't use the autorun because it doesn't work. Having to manually change dates and times is consuming. There is no YTD or MTD totals on the sales reports so we end up having to run multiple reports to get 1/2 the information cornerstone provided automatically. 
There is no ability to set commissions on productions for the activity providers, so all the production calculations for vets on commission have to be done manually, whereas cornerstone provided this function.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The onboarding process but a bit stressful and difficult as everything is done through a trainer that doesn't know all the aspects of the program all that well. Once we began using the program full time, the staff were quick to catch on and it has some great features. Much more user friendly than our previous software and the customer support team is for the most part very quick to respond and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

If you don't have a Dymo label printer, its almost impossible to design labels that actually work. I was told over and over again that pulse integrates with Dymo printers, which is true, expect the model it integrates with is no longer available to purchase. I finally told the person to stop telling me that unless they had a printer to sell me (they did not).

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It would be helpful if they solved the label printer issues. We finally with the help of our own tech support was able ot get something useable but it was extememly frustrating.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

The reporting function is intuitive and easy to use. Has helped significantly with month end reporting, financials, and inventory. Our last system was not as insightful, and Pulse has made my job easier.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The training as we transitioned to Pulse was insufficient. On-site training would be much more beneficial. It is not a very user-friendly system, but is improving over time. It is difficult to do much on one screen, so we often have 2-3 Pulse screens open to help with navigating patient/client files.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reporting! Makes end of month and production reports much easier which frees up my time. 
Schedule is comprehensive.
Inventory is streamlined and prompts for expiration dates/lot #'s which ensures accuracy.

I like that I have to ability to contact someone and get a response almost immediately via the chat box. The library is also helpful but my time is limited so may not be used as much as I would like.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The system goes down frequently which makes it very difficult to run a business. I know it is not our particular system, it seem to be global. Also, we had a very difficult transition moving from one operating sytem to Covetrus. We spent a year fixing reminders that had crossovers and could not retroactively fix anything globally, had to be done on an individual client basis. We are a year and a half into using this program and are now just feeling like we have a handle on it and just discovering what it can do. Book-keeping and reports are not very user friendly as well.

I needed to raise our filling fee on prescriptions and did this through the conversation tab, I was told Covetrus would handly and would be done in a few days, not sure why I could not do this on my own. It was done in about 2 weeks.

Customer support is good.  Many different features.  Love the feature to offer suggestions/ideas.

It's frustrating when the overall page changes look and buttons (click on) get moved. Would like to be able to easily enter date/time/my name in a few simple buttons. I feel that would help make records more accurate.

I love our live chat options; that way I can speak with a covetrus pulse team member in real-time to get my question answered in a timely manner. I like being able to look in the Covetrus search bar for possible answers

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

We need to be able to link more than 1 inventory item to a procedure!!! I wish we had to option for drop-down responses to general questions (ex: vomiting/diarrhea/eating/drinking); text to pay options; Why is there not a true markup percentage and there is no dispensing fee option, just a service fee.

I like the options of the reports sections; I wish it would provide us with running totals for the reports without having to run a full report (Vetspire) such as a sales report. I wish we had the option to see a clients annual accrued services as well as total accrued charges

Being cloud based makes checking on patients and finishing charts much more conveinant for our doctors. The online chat help is invaluable to me!

The process for returns vs voids vs refunds and correcting incorrect payments feels much more difficult then it needs to be.

Since we are both mobile and BAM, I appreciate the simplicity and cloud-based access which allows real time sharing of information between both locations (truck and clinic) while preventing a lot of redundancies and lost information which we experienced while using other management systems.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The software feels like a beta in many regards and there is less access than some other systems offer. Additionally, many "help" articles have pointed towards tabs/options/features whose locations were changed after the articles were publicly posted. Fortunately, in most cases the tech support people are readily available and extremely helpful.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seamlessly combining mobile and brick and mortar practices. Prior to Pulse, our mobile practice had to reconcile its daily intake of information with our clinic by physically synching a laptop with the server. This process led to many issues which our switch to Pulse has fixed.

Great customer service! Pretty easy to use and alter what's needed for your practice. I have a busy clinic and small clinic and Pulse works great for both! Also like how we can easily switch between practices.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

Would be great to have a page that shows all alerts, pets reminders and past/future appointments on one screen. Cornerstone had this and it was very nice! 
Having the ability to go back and edit communications etc is scary to me. 
Returning on an invoice is confusing. 
Would be GREAT if payments could be integrated

Cloud based. Updates in real time.  Easy to attach records

Invoicing options are not great.  We need to be able to send off multiple invoices and show acct balances on closed invoices and be able to omit an open invoice. 

Clients are confused when they get an invoice but don't see their entire account balance

Real time updating of files.  Able to use in the field on calls.

I like that it is so customizable. I also like how much information you can see from the patient's home screen.

The patient search function is terrible. It used to be fantastic, but ever since the upgrade, it is impossible to find a patient.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

I like the online chat option.  It is much easier to get quick and expert resolution to any  concerns I have regarding our practice software, clients, patients and accounting.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I am a former Avimark user, and I do like some of the features offered through Avimark, such as the ability to print Excel reports and address labels.  Also the ability to migrate information out of the practice management software into another program.  I also felt it was a little easier to correct errors and print reports.  I am hoping Pulse will integrate some of the features very soon!

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the enhancements to Pulse, it is becoming easier to run necessary reports and obtain help from customer service.   I would like to see enhancement to the timeclock option to enhance the payroll function.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

First of all Pulse is a cloud-based PIMS, so you have the freedom to access it from anywhere, even your phone. There is no need for expensive computers or backup devices. It is user-friendly and so easy that even the DVMs know how to use it. I like that they have a "suggestion box" for desired features; I have seen some suggestions become a reality. It integrates well with other softwares.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

The reports take a long time to run; the issue is worse when you are trying to run large reports such as end-of-month or end-year reports. It can be slow at times.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not entirely sure what problems they are working on, but I hope they are working on generating reports faster.

Honestly, most things are great, but what I really dislike is the client / patient look up update. I think it's harder to use than before and there are always hundreds of results, even when entering a microchip. I liked it better before the update.

I like how rich and informative the patients records are organized, allowing you to have an overall picture of the animal's health in one screen. It also allows interactions between us and the clients, and between staff members!

If I am looking at the calendar at a certain date and enter a medical records, when I go back it goes back to today's date on the calendar instead of the date I was previously looking at.

Rabies tag number sometimes disappears from the file if you enter the number through the general information route... It is very random and I haven't been able to rely on it anymore

Navigation inside the program (workflow) is sometimes confusing, especially for  Doctors. It feels like we have to backtrack a lot. We do not like downloading a PDF whenever we want to view a document. Program speed is very often slow.

We love being paperless, and able to send medical records electronically and quickly. I love that it has writeback features with our online pharmacy and integrates with other programs.

There are some features that seem simple that are not available yet... such as copying/pasting an appointment for a different day.  I don't like that my reconciliation reports do not match because of stored cards.

Sending large records via email is difficult because of data limits. Categories are assigned to buttons in a random mish mash in the middle of the page. There is no doctor's signature plus dates given/due on the vaccine record without modification.

**What do you like best about Covetrus Pulse?**

User friendly, I like the SOAP layout and how it is easily customizable. They often update features to make it more functional. I have used the following programs since opening my practice 10 years ago: VetBlue, VetPort, and Shepherd, and I have also trialed a number of different programs. I have been using evetpractice since 2019, and I'm very happy with it. It is much more user-friendly, functional, and far less buggy than the other programs.

Customer service is great. I love having the ability to chat with a customer service rep easily and quickly within the system.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I do not like the new name. Evetpractice was a much better name.

Cannot have two Pulse tabs in the same browser open at the same time.

I wish I could view a list of accounts receivable and checks needing deposit without having to run a report.

I wish that all labs for the day could easily be printed out from one page.

There have been issues recently with the software shutting down and not being available for an hour or so. This doesn't happen often, but it really shouldn't happen at all. 

It takes awhile for new features to come out.

**Recommendations to others considering Covetrus Pulse:**

It is a good product, best cloud-based platform I have used (and I have used three others and done demos of several more). It is easy to learn and not complicated like some others. The work-flow is intuitive. Records sent to referring practices are easy to read and look good.

**What problems is Covetrus Pulse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Can quickly write up my exams, I like how the invoices look. It saves me time. I like the automated reminders that are sent to clients, and I like that I can enter in manual reminders that will be emailed to clients as well.

I appreciate the ability to access records from anywhere I can get on the internet. I also like the short-cuts that allow me to email results to clients quickly and easily without having to take the time to attach things. I appreciate the customer service and chat feature. I like the training videos.

**What do you dislike about Covetrus Pulse?**

I don't like that there isn't an easy way to document where lumps and bumps are on the animal.  Some sort of species-specific template would be great.  The new security changes have been somewhat of a failure and don't protect anything when opening up the program after shutting it down.
I don't like that only one of the integrate-able card services can do on-line pay. I like to have choices.
I don't like that replies to SMS messages aren't integrated.

Ease of employee time tracking, ease of lab result integration, and letting me finish charts at home instead of being chained to my desk at the office. 
The reports are handly, but sometimes take awhile to generate.

Covetrus Pulse is easy to teach and easy to learn. I appreciate how intuitive the software is and how it makes scheduling patients quite easy. I appreciate that Covetrus is always looking for ways to improve and listens to feedback.

When we receive online payments, it creates a credit on the client's account instead of directly taking payment for products and services and clearing quick invoicing. The software also freezes up quite often.

We have two hospitals under the same ownership. Covetrus makes it easy to toggle between the two hospitals and communicate with all staff members. We also greatly appreciate that the medical record is updated for each hospital.

The Client/Patient search engine is SO frustrating. The eVet version was much better as it offered several areas to narrow a search, whereas now I can only search for one thing. Ever tried searching Fluffy without a last name? With the previous version, I could search for Fluffy the Canine French Bulldog with an owner that has a first name that starts with J.

We have used this for our client software from the very beginning and gave feedback and suggestions for improvements while the software was being built. We would still love to see a few features, but the software works well for our business model.
