What do you like best?

Simple to use. Easy to access and readily available data at your fingertips. It has tax ids, addresses, websites, and of course the DUNS#. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Not 100% updated. There is some old legacy data still that needs to be refreshed. And tax ids for India have recently been added, so some data needs to be further updated here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Great database, but do not expect 100% accuracy. It is very simple to use - just log in and search by the company name or tax id or website or any other field that you know about the organisation and it generally pops up a result. For India especially they have recently added the VAT Ids, GST# and PAN# which was a much-needed addition. If you do link your database API with the DUNS # then the backend data can be automatically updated. If you don't find an account in the database, you always have the option to submit a ticket to do a business enquiry and they take roughly 7 working days to get back with the confirmation and a DUNs # which helps.Negative - It is not 100% accurate - there are still some outdated addresses and contacts (who have moved to different organisations etc). What do you like best?

Perfect tool for building any type of lists. We can pull company list based on different criteria like Industry, Region, employee size, revenue etc. We can know the present status of a company by referring to the Onestop report generated by D&B. What do you dislike?

The big minus is about company hierarchy. The organisation structure i.e. Parent & Subsidiary relationship listed on this tool is not always accurate. The industry classification is too generic. The contact information is not updated regularly. There is a limit constraint for downloading the list. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

You can opt for D&B if you have to deal with a huge prospect list. You can save money with respect to manual labor involved in getting address and contact details of companies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

For starting a sales campaign, we need list a companies specified to that region and within the specific industry. Example: For a healthcare campaign in Tennessee, We pull all the big health companies in Tennessee which has above $5 Billions in revenue. We can easily the company list within 2 minutes. What do you like best?

I love that D&B Hoovers allows you to purchase complete contact info for B2B Data. That have a great application that allows you to easily navigate through the app to buy data sorting it based on your parameters you give. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that all the data comes bundled together, meaning you have to buy not just the phone numbers but the emails and address that come with the contacts. These leads are also very expensive, but super high quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

D&B is useful for ascertaining company information based both in North America and globally and provides detailed company hierarchy information (parent and child, sister companies), an area where other sales intelligence solutions fall significantly short. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I am able to review a specific company, then look at their competitors and compare size of a market segment that I’m considering as a target market. This cues me of you but if I’m successful with one or two of the top companies in that sector… How big can I make a business in this area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I think the interface could be improved and made a bit more user-friendly. Once you get used to it it’s fine, but if I’m trying to let a junior person do some work for me I end up having to help them quite a bit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The best thing about using D&B hoovers is having access to additional client information that we would not normally have. The advanced company insights offered on the platform is vital to our sales reps closing tough deals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our biggest challenge with D&B Hoovers is the quality of the contact lists available. Compared with other lead generation services and databases we have used, D&B's lists have a much lower success rate with our sales team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Structure of database and Company Data points are good. I am able to use Hoovers to build a client profile by looking up customers. I have confidence all profiles will have full SIC or NAICS codes. I can use this to analyze past customers and build a list of "good fit" future prospects. Estimated data points are OK at best (sales revenue, number of employees, square footage). Overall the database and data structure of a company's profile is one of the best out there. The ability to see data before exporting is awesome, it gives you a great preview before spending purchased credits. Overall, I am confident, from my use and experience, they have the majority of midsize-large businesses in the United States. Some very small companies are missing. What do you dislike?

contacts are Ok at best. Some data is old and without a phone number where a simple google search brings up a phone number. Cannot remove companies within the same building (suite or floor numbers). The ability to append data through a website would be a GREAT feature that is currently missing. The list match feature requires a LOT of info in order to get a match. If you are looking for a data provider with pretty good company profiles Hoovers is a great choice. They are NOT a leader in contact data. If you are looking for the best data provider for contact data, maybe not your best choice, but if you want to be able to be able to analyze all past clients or prospects to develop a "best fit" prospect profile, Hoover could be a useful tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've noticed the company phone number is not always correct. While I understand that it is very difficult to assess a private company's revenue, I think including some sort of message that indicates the degree of confidence in a revenue estimate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The revenue on each company is the most useful, personally. We tend to use the list building as the number one value to us. It has helped us improve our targeting and really get a grasp on the reality of how many portential businesses we can penetrate in the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It's unclear when and where they get their information and updates from and when. One day we were on hoovers and the next my company no longer shows up. There's not a super quick update notification system on the most recent information dump. The price has often been a sore spot for my small company. We use it for very specific things and go back and worth on if we should keep using hoovers if we only use a portion of the full benefits/features. We wish there were more tiered options. What do you like best?

Hoovers allows for our client managers to give very specific criteria for the type of clients they need to work with. They can cast a large net and get a lot of clients or they can get very specific for specific projects and Hoovers can accommodate and quickly provide a report for that specific criteria. This has reduced the amount of research time our client managers have to take figure out clients they need to target for their services and more time having one on one conversations with clients figuring out their needs. What do you dislike?

What do you like best?

I like how D&B Hoovers integrates so well with Salesforce. We believe that contextual selling is the best approach, so being able to find company specific information without several screen clicks was a positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The Hoovers data lags about 1 year or so for our industry. They have a mechanism for correcting information that is not up-to-date, however, we are looking for Hoover to provide us with that guidance, not the other way around. The sales process is smooth and simple, however, they did not spend enough time explaining that the implementation is more for enterprise-type companies. We had some bumps in the road. What do you like best?

I like that I can use it to see companies and the contacts available. Honestly, I feel like I use ZoomInfo more the platform is easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dislike that there are not a lot of contacts and that it is tough to figure out which company is the one you want because there are a lot of duplicates.
