It solves problems of manual processes and lost documents by automating workflows and with a centralized & secure repository which eventually increase the whole productivity, reduce costs & improves accuracy a lot.

**What do you like best about DocStar ECM?**

We use IDC to process our AP invoices. So far, the intelligence of IDC has been my favorite part about utilizing ECM.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

When we first started implementing ECM, familiarizing ourselves with the interface was a challenge. It feels like a dated interface with buttons in so many places and you have to switch between multiple pages to accomplish tasks.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to ECM, we handled our invoices in hard copies and had to manually key in every invoice and line details. We handle 150-200 invoices per day. ECM will enable us to become more automated and digital so we can focus on other tasks.

**What do you like best about DocStar ECM?**

I would like to mention how easy and precise DocStar ECM processes documents scan and cloud storage. It’s been the greatest help in ensuring that we maintain the large number of files. In addition to that, it was kind of easy to set it up and DocStar's support team were very helpful.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

Although the DocStar ECM is of advanced quality, the interface looks somewhat old-fashioned. This gets on my nerves a bit, and it would be better if it had a more modern layout. However, the support team has been wonderful in helping us to overcome hurdles!

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The environment DocStar ECM definitely made a great contribution to our piles of paper stored in the office with its online document storage. Moreover, it has helped us save a considerable amount of money and now we can get to the files much quicker and easier. Besides, integrating it with our other systems has demonstrated a synergy of work which is also more simpler. It makes a great deal of difference for us.

**What do you like best about DocStar ECM?**

Docstar ECM is a content manager that I would better title as a document manager. Start by uploading all documents like invoices or delivery notes into the folders, and then searching for a specific document is very fast. Since with the indexed data, you can filter by any data in the document. It allows integration with ERPs like SAP, and any other cloud service.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

The interface is not the most modern.
The data does not allow for generating statistics as such, so you need to extract a report and process that data yourself.
The workflows are not optimized to the maximum. In some workflows, you have to download the document to be able to view it, which is a serious flaw in my opinion that they should fix.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When you need to download a document to view it, it becomes a delay. It would also be interesting if the documentary videos they have on YouTube were available in other languages.

**What do you like best about DocStar ECM?**

The staff at docStar eclipse are very fast. We provided an enormous amount of files for scanning onto the cloud and it was done with high levels of accuracy and very quickly. They followed our instructions to the letter and got things done.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

So far the interface in which you access the files are very old fashioned. You must follow each link into each individual folder to access certain things and you can not drag and drop items such as newer platforms in other systems. Such ways of working with a software is outdated and is not as user friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering DocStar ECM:**

I suggest taking 30 minutes to familiarize yourself with the system. Play with how the folders work and how to move files around. The logic is simple but it needs a little getting used to.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is helping with our lack of space in the office. By switching to an online system for document storage instead of having boxes and drawers full of files around the office, it has improved not only our over head costs but has improved efficiency. Staff can not access files more easily via the system instead of physically hunting for it.

**What do you like best about DocStar ECM?**

We file several types of documents (accounting, hr,contracts,policies). We use a bar-code coversheet workflow to re-direct the document to the correct workflow for further processing. The coversheet workflow allows us to detect blank pages (one-sided vs double-sided) and not import them. This avoids the questions from people asking /thinking a blank page was not imported correctly.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

Log-in problems occasionally happen when updates occur. We also use Barcodes to direct the document thru the workflow process. Sometimes the printers skew the barcodes and the workflow stops at a certain step.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Digitizing our paper documents and setting up workflows for certain aspects of our business.

Can be a bit tedious at times, too many buttons and tabs. Slow to load at times.

I really like the fact that you can automate either accounts payable or receivable functions as well as other accounting tasks.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

Although Docstar is an intelligent program it still requires plenty of labour to set up as well as monitor should things go sideways for some tasks.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time would be the deciding factor in the software.    It cuts the amount of paper and user intervention leaving time for other tasks.    Combined with DocAlpha,.  It's truely becomes automated with artificial intelligence.

My favorite thing about docstar is the ability to use the “retrieve” tool to search any document I’m looking for u see a specific account!

When using the retrieval process, the way the documents are listed, it can be hard to read and the format/font could be a little bigger. Have not figured out a way to change this.

**Recommendations to others considering DocStar ECM:**

If you are looking for something simple yet detailed for the organization of documents and other important materials, look no further. DocStar is the way to go. It’s easy to use and easy to look up important information.

**What do you like best about DocStar ECM?**

The best part of Docstar is probably the support as if we have an issue, we can quickly get an answer from someone who is very adept with the system. Searching for documents is also nice as it is quick and you can easily narrow down results by using keywords.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

Well, it is complicated but it is a document management system so it's going to be complicated. With the training and support that is available to us, we've been able to get quite familiar with the system though.

**Recommendations to others considering DocStar ECM:**

Ensure that whomever you get to install the solution is capable of supporting it as well. Support is going to be a big thing for new installations.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The only real problem we're having is adoption from our staff in some departments, they don't realize the potential of the system and get hung up with having to learn it first. Other departments, however, are quite happy with it and find that it saves them time when searching for a document.

It looks nicer and I have had better luck searching for documents than I did with the program we used previously. Everything is neatly organized. 

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

There is quite a lot more clicking and drop-down menus than our predecessor. That slows my workflow down considerably because more steps have been added. 

**Recommendations to others considering DocStar ECM:**

Not a bad product. Functionality is great if you have a decent network and hardware. Everything is organized fairly well but like all things, will take time to adapt especially if you're used to another interface. Reminds me of using Galileo in college. 

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finalizing and reviewing invoices when they get rejected by our corporate office. Also, I am able to search for documents should any need or dispute arise.

Docstar ECM is my go to daily program for document management, all my records are available at my fingertips within seconds, which cuts time, improves workflow and cooperation across our whole firm. Increases work production and cuts cost of manual labor.

The layout may not be simple for new users who are technologically illiterate.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have problems with older files that were imaged being retrieved. The benefits are that the newer files are found in seconds with no problem.

The customer service. They are willing to go above and beyond to get what you need done or corrected.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization has a complicated Approval Tree,  Multiple vendors working on different projects and with different Mangers. Invoices did not always go to the correct approver. We needed a solution to move invoices between approvers and not lose precious time in processing an invoice.  Docstar ECM made that happen

The software is easy to use with a very minimal learning curve. You can be approving invoices super fast and get you vendors paid. 

There are a ton of options built in to the software that make it easy to annotate and export data if you have questions or concerns. 

The platform is great if you are organized as once you systematically get in routine, approving invoices is less of a chore.  

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

Not very clear on what the workflow is for invoices that get rejected. I haven’t spent much time studying this but would like if I could send the invoices back to the vendors for correction in the same workflow that has me sent them. 

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The process to get vendors paid has been streamline and given more oversight. This has resulted in invoices getting before the “right” person that can review and assess all charges includes.

The workflow actions available in Eclipse are extremely useful and well thought out. We process 700 documents a day using OCR and workflows that walk our staff through simple questions to learn more about the document. 

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

There have been several stability issues during our 3 years on Eclipse. Some that bring our organization down for a week+. 

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are automating information between several systems with Eclipse. Previously staff used 2-3 systems to make adjustments to real estate listings. Now Eclipse sends data back to our systems so staff do the entire workflow from one pane of glass. Never leaving Eclipse.

Docstar allowed us to process 100k invoice by a single person.  It links the invoice with our ERP solution for invoice matching.

The software had to be customized for our environment.  This can make it difficult to get fast support at times.

All our invoices are now stored electronically and we can view them at anytime.

I like the fact it's web based so it seems to move much faster than the older version that was in house server based.

It can be a bit confusing on what parameters go where when trying to retrieve a document.

It has many different options so be sure to explore them all

The ability for all branches out of state and in state to be able to retrieve their documents or send them in along with better workflow transparency.

The customization allows for the processing of a variety of workflows.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

The limitations hold back what could be a much more powerful tool if some aspects were updated. Search features and OCR are some of the limitations that come to mind.

It would also be helpful to have freedom to have test environments so tests of importing configuration could be performed without affecting production. We had to purchase a second instance of DocStar to do some testing, and really are still limited without having a third.

Utilize learning tools and dedicate time to understand product.

Managing documents across departments has been something we have gained efficiency in using DocStar.

We use DocStar to capture everything that comes into our offices in a centralized location. Having all information makes it easier for us to help our clients. 

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

We do not use the workflow function and it would be great to be able to import documents without them hitting workflow.

We save on rent. If we tried to keep paper files we would need much more office space.

I like how users have control of the design. I also like how easily I can search for documents. In addition, I like the filing system. Once I learned that you can file chronologically, it made searching for documents even better.

Really nothing. I've learned to really love DocStar

Include the Created On tab as it is helpful when searching for documents.

**What do you like best about DocStar ECM?**

We utilize Doc Star to scan and keep all our records secured and organized.  It is so easy to enter and retrieve the file later for viewing or reprinting.  With the administrative functions it is easy to give access to documents to those who need it and restrict access to those who don't.  Very HIPPA compliant.  

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

wished I updated to the newer software and hardware sooner.  I was using older software and a beat up scanner and could not keep up with the work load.  A representative from Doc Star came in and did a evaluation and set me up with the perfect set up for my business.

**Recommendations to others considering DocStar ECM:**

Try the trial you wont be disappointed.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I went from having two offices overflowing with loose documents and records to being able to utilizing the space for added office staff.   I know my records are secured and backed up to their server in case of a emergency or hardware failure.  It is a great piece of mind.

**What do you like best about DocStar ECM?**

I like the ability to integrate with many different pieces of software. DocStar ECM has the ability to manipulate and import data from many different backends of software. This integration helps increase accuracy and filing speed for documents that are being stored for retention.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

If I had to choose one thing I do not like about the software, I would say that there is room for improvement on ease of access when managing security outside of a domain environment. There are many beneficial features in the SSO portion, however for systems that require non integrated users, it takes some time to manage the security settings.

**Recommendations to others considering DocStar ECM:**

My recommendation is that users create a good game plan before setup. Making sure that you are performing the process as best as you possibly can, means that down the road, as a business, you will have less changes to make, and more consistency within your data.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a reseller, we are solving many problems. As businesses move to the future, paper is becoming more and more of a hassle. Using DocStar ECM we are able to save businesses large amounts of space and filing time for paper documents, as well as find efficiencies with speed of retrieving documents, and integrating with other pieces of software.

I like how easy it is too process invoices, and even when I upload colored invoices the picture shows up good.

I dislike nothing. We are currently upgrading  Docstar with new features so that will help.

Auto emails notifying me when an invoice is posted for my approval.  Just a few clicks and I'm done.

The window views for some of the screens are awkward and have to be adjusted to see the buttons.

Paperless is a huge benefit.

I really don't see any downsides as yet.

I like the workflows that can be created for different types of invoicing. 

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

It seemed complicated to setup multiple groups to view their invoices. We pool all invoices together so we can’t have certain people view only their departments invoices, they would see all invoices. So we don’t permit those potential users to view invoicing as they would have access to all.

I like that the product has custom workflows. Working in Healthcare we have many needs and requirements, with DocStar we can customize the product to meet these needs.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

Being so customizable is my favorite thing about the product but it is also a negative. Since our workflows are custom we are limited on support options. We often have to wait for the developer to have an opportunity to get back to us so that he can look at what he developed for us.

I recommend learning how to create your own workflows.

In healthcare there are a lot of documents, there are also a lot of regulations on those documents. DocStar allows us to track documents as they go through the workflow, we are able to track timestamos and report on them to regulators.

I like that it's relatively easy to use and I can typically figure something out if I need to.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

The only downside I have is with regards to the training.  There's very little training and support.  response times are too long.  The system also gets "stuck" often and things need to be reset.

I'm unsure of the current benefits as it relates to my position other than being able to see where an invoice is within the approvals process.

I love the user interface. The workflow designer allows IT staff to configure our own workflows. Our staff love the ability to integrate with our other software. This software has been an awesome upgrade for our company.

I didn't like the cost of forms per submitted form. Also our company needs a more user friendly signature solution.

**Recommendations to others considering DocStar ECM:**

Before you purchase, make sure you understand all of the features that are include in the package that you did or did not purchase. Have a statement of work ready prior to any work being accomplished. Also you should phase the software in based upon user or department duties. Be aware of user buy in pryor to purchasing. Not all users need the local client, not all users need scanners....prepare by having the users submit electronic documents through email vs paper. Its definitely a game changer and worth it.

We use DocStar ECM in Accounts Payables and Receivables.

Easily searchable using keywords.  However still has folders to search through if you are more comfortable with that method.

Cloud based version is not as user friendly as the server based version.  Make sure the program designer understands what you want and can provide that easily.

No more paper cuts searching through hard copy files.

**What do you like best about DocStar ECM?**

Ease of deployment and ease of use for our staff. Very easy to administrate and troubleshoot if the situation calls for it. Saves time to search for these massive documents and saves the physical space that would otherwise have to be used on them. 

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

We had a data loss once, but it was recoverable. The interface seems antiquated but we may be using an older version. Some features are confusing to use, but not prohibitively so. These dislikes are honestly small gripes, since every one of them is (obviously) quickly written off by a counterpoint.

**Recommendations to others considering DocStar ECM:**

If you have a huge volume of documents and you want all of the benefits of virtualization for them, this is a great tool to use. It speeds up the workflow in the departments that use it and cuts down on the costs of time wasted managing documents that would otherwise be not only physical, but multi-page, sometimes up to several hundred pages. The amount of clutter and storage that this cuts down on cannot be understated!

We've been eliminating paper and paper waste, streamlining our workflow for several departments, and offered both staff and customers an easy way to manage otherwise lengthy documents. Space required to physically store these papers has been re-purposed to store other mission critical assets like network devices, computers and servers.

Like the whole idea of digitizing paper copies with search capabilities using meta data.

Scanner associated with the solution, issues with scanning multiple batches at the same time. Also recent changes with the licensing. Earlier all users could scan view edit now there is a charge for users that can scan and edit. Some settings that needs for accuracy, slows down the scanning.

We scan hundreds of pages a documents a day.  The barcode reading and OCR capabilities are very helpful to us and Docstar has been a reliable and successful part of our service.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

I'd like to have more options as to the type of document that is output from Docstar.  TIFF is the normal output and some software does not work well with that format.

We've been able to replace boxes of manual records with electronic records.  We scan research data and legal notices and make these available to our clients on our website.  This is very valuable.

**What do you like best about DocStar ECM?**

Probably the thing I like best about DocStar is that I can load lots of content into 1 database.  I can easily navigate the "workflows" and "retrieve" tabs.  And the search bar is a great tool and helps me out immensely when I need to find something quickly.

**What do you dislike about DocStar ECM?**

I would have to say, my main dislike is the fact that when I do scan a large stack of papers, DocStar takes quite a while to "think" before loading the content file and allowing me to "submit".  Sometimes I wait 10-15 seconds just staring at the screen, waiting for the next screen to load.  I have used this system every work day for 2 years now and each update we've had recently has made the system run slower on my end for scanning.

**What problems is DocStar ECM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefits to this program include being able to scan and organize a large amount of information and retrieve information easily for future use.  It makes it so much easier for other DocStar users to access the information I have scanned properly.  We can easily organize insurance documents into designated categories, allowing the pages to be more easily found that way.
