I now have the ability to have self-control and turnaround customer quotations efficiently. 

**What do you dislike about Conga CPQ?**

A key challenge is in ensuring the customer data fed in to the system is correct. This could be an internal issue.

**What problems is Conga CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to Apttus, towards the end of business quarters there was often a long delay in turning around customer quotations however now I can personally action them when required and not rely upon others.

Conceptually it's a fantastic idea and much easier that creating excel proposals.

**What do you dislike about Conga CPQ?**

The responsiveness of the application is very slow and painful, wastes a lot of my valuable time when refreshing selections and creating quotes. The quoting process takes twice as long as our previous excel method.

**Recommendations to others considering Conga CPQ:**

If you want happy productive sales people, carefully review this product before implementing. Sales is the life blood of your organization, it's in everyones best interest that they spend more time selling and less time using cumbersome tools like Aptus and other unnecessary processes that result in decreased productivity/revenue.

Consolidating quotes/proposals into a streamlined and integrated process within Salesforce.

the catalogue of products easily visible and it is  straight forward tool on how to price and quote..i like the automation in that just wish it was a little more flexible

The only 100% native solution on salesforce that offers the whole Quote-to-Cash solution on salesforce.

There are no issues with our company right now about the Apttus solution, it does everything that we need and was very easy to implement and has 100% user adoption

we had a very manual process, everything was done in excel but they also have X-author which bridges the gap of salesforce and Excel

Apptus seems incredibly slow to calculate the quotes. So much time is lost waiting for the tool to move to the next step or to perform calculations. Generally i find the interface very un-intuitive and difficult to use, and am often getting lost and have to ask for additional assistance from colleagues who have more knowledge of the tool. If Apptus was designed well, then this should not be the case.

I wouldn't recommend it. It's buggy and almost always errors out. I have to rebuild the same quote over and over again.

Its incorporated into Salesforce so everybody within the company has a complete view of each order and what quotation goes with what opportunity.

Its slow and not user friendly. The red circle take about 20 seconds every time you click a field. After a while this can get frustrating - especially if you click the wrong field accidentally.

Our implementation is difficult as it is limiting from my enterprise sales perspective. I imagine it works well for others who deal with very standard sales processes, products, etc.

Very smooth process to get orders routed for approval.  My favorite part is it helps get pricing in line, and it shows discounts.

It doesn't calculate proration on orders half way through a term, you have to figure it out yourself.

Apttus CPQ is an excellent, readily adaptable product enabling implementation of complex configuration and pricing rules.  It is also a seamlessly integrated part of a broader end-end quote to cash product portfolio.

I have no significant regrets other than we didn't adopt Apttus CPQ even earlier than we did.  The product has already positively impacted our business process and results.

Apttus CPQ being native to salesforce allowed us to leverage skills we already had in house. The product and pricing methodologies have allowed us to push the adminsitration of those processes closer to end users. This has given us tremendous flexibility and responsiveness to changing markets. 

**What do you dislike about Conga CPQ?**

The UI of early releases of CPQ was clunky. Apttus has turned that around. Documentation tends to be minimalistic and assumes mid-level knowledge.

**Recommendations to others considering Conga CPQ:**

Match your business processes to out of the box functionality of Apttus CPQ. Rely on Apttus Expert Services to help you understand best practices and adhere to them as much as possible,

We are using CPQ to lay a foundation for our quote to cash initiative. We also use Apttus CLM. The data from the quote will feed to contracting, revenue management, and invoicing. Apttus CPQ has tamed our wild-west quoting and allowed us to have more consistent pricing and quoting.

The ability to produce a quote is simple and easy for the end user.

Somewhat difficult to manage different templates for different quote scenarios that we have.

Document requirements in detail and test heavily.  Some of the administrative functions are not very easy to grasp and there are many pieces that have to be remembered.  I wish that Apttus had an Admin 101 certification and an Admin 201 certification like Salesforce does. 

**What problems is Conga CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to produce a quote for complex business requirements that make it easy for the end user sales rep.   We like the way the quote is automatically saved to the quote layout and integrates seamlessly into our approval processes.

Accurate price quotes, creating professional pricing documentation, streamline quoting process, capture and send data as needed in Salesforce. Support from Apttus has been five-star service quality!

There is a learning curve and if you have an extensive or complex pricing model it can take some time to setup and configure; luckily there is a company walking alongside you willing to help.

**Recommendations to others considering Conga CPQ:**

Plan to build CPQ and Business Processes/Workflows together; the interaction between CPQ and the rest of your business can be seamless if integrated properly. CPQ will allow for accurate quoting, even with complex pricing models.

Apttus CPQ has been very good at meeting our needs. We initially went-live solely to product accurate quoting documents and are now in the process of utilizing all of the rest of the enhancements in order to get better data flowing downstream and incorporate CPQ as part of a complete Quote To Cash system

**What do you like best about Conga CPQ?**

100% native Force,com; fully integrated solution; easily customizable through Force.com; flexible on subscription terms and pricing; a very helpful and friendly and accommodating Sales and Professional Services team

Shopping cart cannot be customized; Some screens, navigation and usability are still clumsy and inconsistent; Difficult and relatively time intensive to implement; Lack of processes and implementation methodology within the Professional Services teams

**Recommendations to others considering Conga CPQ:**

Apttus CPQ provides great configuration, pricing and quoting capabilities in line with the competition but at a lower price point. Apttus is also flexible on subscription terms relative to the competition, which indicates that the competition may be experiencing high churn rates. The reality is that most CPQ solutions are really custom solutions specifically tailored to each business. And this can increase the implementation cost very quickly. Be aware of this and make sure you are a clear and explicit on scope to protect yourself from unexpected implementation costs. Negotiate a fixed bid contract instead of going the time and materials route if you can. Although very successful, Apttus is experiencing the growing pains and maturity issues of any smaller company experiencing rapid growth. The implementation consultants either seem new or are utilized on multiple engagements, which means you may have to deal with resources who are not dedicated to the project or not qualified to be effective. This can cause delays in your implementation. So make sure you perform a reference check on the assigned resources with another customer, before you agree to engage the assigned resources.  As with any SaaS vendor, make sure you protect yourself from subscription and renewal fee increases and do not let the vendor lock you in for longer terms without a discount at least equal to the cost of capital over the term. Have an exit strategy to maintain your negotiation power during renewal time.

The staff at APTTUS is absolutely great to work with.  Their product fit into our org perfectly and they worked with us to find additional areas to improve upon

**What do you dislike about Conga CPQ?**

The only negative that I have is that it took some time to fully dive into Word Macros to the level that we needed to.

Definitely engage their support and implementation team to look outside of the box of the initial product offering
