What do you like best?

If you are like us and have been using a balanced Scorecard for over 30 years. The transition to this system is a breath of fresh air. Being an IT director and having relations with many many software vendors...the Clearpoint team has been one of the best I've ever worked with. Questions are answered within minutes along with clear and concise directions. What do you like best?

ClearPoint Strategy can provide a framework to organize a massive amount of diverse information. The features that ClearPoint provides are very versatile and can be applied in different manners, according to how the company needs to organize it. For us, we are using the elements a little bit different than what they were intended for, but it still allows for full use of the ClearPoint Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I think there are some areas for improvement in reporting, and everyday use for companies who prefer to do more work inside the system. Also, it would be helpful to have more element flexibility between features. For example: I may want to be able to use some of the project management features at a higher element level in clearpoint. We are now able to see our entire enterprise strategic plan in one place, and still manage it. We have a much more robust organization than an average company, and after using multiple systems, ClearPoint has been the solution for us to have it all in one place. What do you like best?

Wide variety of options for measures and charts - I can set up a variety of structures for reporting series and multiple charts per measure; robust and diverse structures and reporting available; easy to use; very few if any bugs; tight and useful. I'm sure there are twenty additional features I could use to help me even more, I'm still discovering benefits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Top-down structure makes users reliant on central management; but I think they are working on more flexibility in central vs distributed functions; the team at clearpoint is top notch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recently we needed fast geographical tracking of tax revenue during the pandemic shutdown and re-opening. Clearpoint was the best tool for this. I was able to quickly create reports our city can use for getting emergency funding.

What do you like best?

I like that we are able to provide multiple users access to the system. This provides increased transparency which is an essential component for moving our Strategic Plan initiatives forward. ClearPoint Strategy also allows us to integrate the data that we track into our public facing website for residents to follow Strategic Plan progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Navigation within the our platform is a bit challenging when we new users are getting acclimated. The movement from scorecard to scorecard within the Goals that we have setup is not as intuitive as it could be. This may also be the way that we have customized the experience which is something that predates my interactions with ClearPoint Strategy at our organization. What do you like best?

Joseph Lucco is a fantastic support to our team and deserves recognition for his attitude, service and skill. He's by far the best thing about working with ClearPoint. 2nd would be the Data Loader 2.0. Automating the upload process is a HUGE time saver and allows us to work with less technical users to ensure their data is included. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Customizing tables and referencing existing tables can be burdensome. It would be nice to have more of a GUI interface with click and drag of existing fields/tables for reference vs. the calculation/text box. Outside of interface preference, I don't really have any complaint about ClearPoint. Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure you understand your own data servers and how to extract data to get the most use out of the system, especially the data loader. Manual entry is burdensome for reporting system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Providing validated data to the city in an automated manner to the city has reduced workload significantly. We are able to consolidate and report crime and PD operations data with ease. Additionally, we were able to transition from UCR to NIBRS reporting one year ahead of schedule and report accordingly with the awesome support of our account manager and his technical assistance. What do you like best?

Easy to view and understand the content you are putting into the program. Most individuals within our organization were able to grasp what they were viewing and were able to update and edit as needed.

The consultants and support team are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We have weekly online meetings to go over our progress and these meetings help make sure that we are not veering down the wrong path.

The status indicators that ClearPoint uses are a very useful tool to get a high-level look at the overall progress of not only that objective, but the entire goal as a whole. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

ClearPoint is very intuitive to use and has a lot of flexibility built into it for varying applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

For project management, it is difficult or impossible to use the Gantt chart to simultaneously track planned and actual progress. I believe this is possible if you track each milestone in 'percent complete' but for our projects the milestone is either "complete" or "incomplete". As a workaround, we can create each milestone twice, once for "planned" and again as "actual" but that is clunky. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

ClearPoint is an intuitive, flexible platform that does many things very well. If you need platforms for managing organizational performance as well as project management, then ClearPoint may be able to meet both needs with one product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The main problem I've been solving is the ability to create multiple reports from the same set of data. This really pays off when we can create a new report for senior management that instantly answers questions like, "of all of our projects, only show me the ones that are more than 30 days off schedule."

Also, our agency uses Qlik for a lot of data visualization. Currently, it looks like we'll have to export ClearPoint data to Excel, and then upload the Excel data into Qlik. The ability to feed our data directly from ClearPoint to Qlik would be fantastic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ClearPoint team is phenomenal. I know that I can call or email anytime, with any question, and I will always receive excellent customer service and a lesson on the issue. Each time I work with the team, I walk away with more knowledge about the functionality of the product.

I dislike the fact that we can't "hide" rows in the data table that we are not using.

We are tracking AIPs (Action Initiative Plans) that the Leadership team created during their StratOp (Strategic Operations) project. Leadership Team works together bi-weekly to update AIPs in ClearPoint.

The Leadership Academy is a new course within our Arvada University program. There are two teams of individuals who are tackling big organization-wide projects, and they knew right away that tracking these projects in ClearPoint would assist in their success. We created a Leadership Academy Scorecard and added the two projects which the team can access easily in an Alignment Matrix.

One of my main tasks is to track our Process Improvement projects in ClearPoint. We have a Process Improvement Team called the Ninjas, and we've created a Ninja Scorecard to include a list of all projects, page detail layouts to reflect our systematic approach, and a performance measure to track overall cost savings by work system. I love being able to share the PI project with the entire team, owners, supervisors, and Leadership Team to tell the story of all of the hard work the team is doing to create meaningful change. It's as easy as emailing the page, creating a PDF, a Briefing Book, or as simple as providing the team with the ID#.

Strategic Plan Alignment - The Golden Thread

The City Council Strategic Plan provides vision for our work. The plan outlines five Priority Areas. Each Priority Area includes specific Strategic Results that define different focus areas. Strategic Results have Milestones that support the Strategic Plan.

Key Performance Indicators, which are SMART goals, live within the City's work systems and measure performance outcomes to ensure successful completion of Strategic Results.

What do you like best?

ClearPoint has many features available that allow us to quickly and accurately display information to our teams as well as present monthly reports. ClearPoint has been a great asset to us for tracking and managing our long term strategic plan, and we're now finding other great uses such as for independent project tracking and reporting. The automation options for reporting make it easy to generate and the filtering options allow us to only show what we want and what we don't (such as completed or cancelled items). For a first time user the system can be a little tricky to set up and get used to, there are many ways to do the same thing. What do you like best?

ClearPoint is very easy to use and quick to learn. It's a product that has lots of versatility, allowing you design your organization's performance management system to meet your needs. You can decide which features to use and which to hide. Visualizing your measures and data not only has flexibility but you can set templates to reuse charts and cut down on rework as you build out more measures. You can customize everything! Really everything from renaming elements to match the vocabulary of your company to what fields you want on your measures. We were able to design our system with little visual design experience and yet our executive team was "wowed"! You aren't locked in to what ClearPoint thinks is "best" you can decide what your company needs and they support you in making it happen. Making updates is very easy and the system is super responsive. On top of all that, the ClearPoint team and support has helped us figure out how to create complex measures in the system. Our organization was able to purchase the enterprise level license plus additional user licenses for significantly less than similar products that we liked less. This is a produce that has exceptional value and the ClearPoint team is always working to add new features and fix what bugs their customers. We haven't really encountered anything we dislike. The variety and options of the system meant we had to do some deep thinking and planning work when we started. ClearPoint was a great partner in figuring out some of those details. Also, when we made errors when building measures, it was easy to fix them. What do you like best?

What I like best about ClearPoint is its ease of use. It has a very user-friendly interface and functionality such as drag and drop, linking elements and ability to customize.. As an administrator, management of scorecards and users is very easy and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

None, the ClearPoint team is always willing to work with us to integrate any new requirements we have or new functionality (e.g. customized charts, etc.). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We implemented ClearPoint to replace an excel-based scorecard which we had been using for approximately 2 years. There are many benefits that have been gained with this tool, with the most impactful being an increase in efficiency. ClearPoint has enabled the automation of key business processes associated with strategy management and performance reporting. This has resulted in efficiencies gained in the areas of data collection, workflow management and report generation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
