Shopmonkey 1.0 was great.... the best word I can muster to describe Shopmonkey 2.0 is "regression" added key strokes and worse functionality....CUSTOMER SERVICE is a JOKE Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Shopmonkey 2.0 added a few nice features... but mostly increased the hardship of using the software...within first 2 hours of using the new software I had a conversation with Judy ( which has since vanished from the face of the earth apparently) and I mentioned no less than 10 glitches/bugs/functionality problems.... roughly 2 months ago...since then.... NOT A SINGLE THING HAS BEEN RECTIFIED.
Let's read what Google has to say about it after compiling data from the net...
The "Shopmonkey 2.0 switch over" refers to Shopmonkey's transition from its original platform to a completely revamped 2.0 version, which involved significant data migration and a complete redesign of the user experience for auto repair shops. Shopmonkey facilitated this by using a platform called Arcade to guide users, provide training, and offer a way to test new features without affecting their live data. While Shopmonkey aimed to provide a better platform, some users found the 2.0 version complex and migrated to alternative software like Fieldd or Shift Industry.
What is the Shopmonkey 2.0 Switch Over?
Re-platforming Effort:
Shopmonkey undertook a major project to re-platform its entire cloud-based management system, creating a new version known as 2.0.
Data Migration:
The switch involved migrating all existing user data from the older platform to the new 2.0 system.
User Experience Overhaul:
A new, redesigned system and user interface was introduced to improve functionality and management for auto repair shops.
How Shopmonkey Handled the Transition
Arcade Software: Shopmonkey partnered with Arcade Software to manage the transition.
Guided Onboarding: The platform helped onboard users to the new system and introduced them to the full range of new features.
Safe Environment for Testing: Users could experience and test the new features in a safe environment provided by Arcade, allowing them to understand the benefits without impacting their live shop operations.
User Experiences and Alternatives
Challenges for Some Users:
While the aim was to improve the platform, some users reported significant issues and difficulties with the 2.0 version, finding it complex and a steep learning curve, according to this Reddit thread.
Migrating to Other Software:
Frustrated users, faced with learning a new system, decided to migrate to alternative shop management software such as Fieldd or Shift Industry.
Looks like my path starts with investigating Fieldd or Shift Industry now.... I recommend you do the same !! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
