The only thing I could say Shopmonkey could improve would be their part terms. They are a system that is very user friendly.

Very easy to use and really a lot of tools to help your business grow and be managed successfully has really good features.

One thing that I don't like is that you can't make a discount on an entire order only on a single line, hope this will be added.

**What do you like best about Shopmonkey?**

We just switched our shop to Shopmonkey from shopboss, and during that process we found it to be simple and enjoyable. Eunice was our guide in making it happen, and she was very profesional, punctual, and a joy to work with. So when you switch to Shopmonkey, make sure that you ask for Eunice. Frankly, it's only a matter of time before you do. Also, shopmonkey, if you're reading this, make sure to take care of Eunice. She is in my opinion, one of the best employees a company could have. Thank you for the help, and we look forward to working with you for years.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

Truthfully, we have had absolutely no issues with Shopmonkey. Any potential problems we may have had have been handled quickly and efficiently. I know there is always room for improvement, but this company is always looking for insight from its customers. They want to improve, so when you have a company that takes your ideas and feedback and makes them a reality what is there to dislike.

Our shop wanted to find a tremendous paperless system to streamline our service for our automotive shop. With Shopmonkey we have found our solution and increased our efficiency tenfold.

Search is not very strong. Part number look up is very clunky. Notifications take mobile display with android. Needs android app

We like that it's a complete system.  We're an off-road shop and we use some features and not others.  Customer communications are easy, payments are easy.  Adding inventory and keeping track of jobs is easy too

I wish there were more options for cc processing as they're a little high  Reports are a little confusing. The app needs a little work also. We have to use the mobile site on phones

The platform is extremely easy to use. And if you need to get a hold of someone it's fast and easy and they actually help you. The layout of the platform makes running business extremely fast and efficient. By far the best software I've ever had. And it's extremely affordable

For my package nothing is bad. But for others I think that the e-signature payment that they're asking for should be included in the package pricing. For legal reasons

Suck it up and pay for it. It's the best decision you will ever make

I haven't experienced any problems and anything that I've had concerns with all I had to do was reach out to them and had a response with him 30 minutes or so. Zachary schulman is my agent and he is definitely on top of it. No complaints here whatsoever. Again best shop where software I've ever had. Everything's super easy to use and my customers love it and I love it

**What do you like best about Shopmonkey?**

Shopmonkey is a very easy to use software, that will make it easy to manage your everyday task for your shop. Our customers love the convenience of being able to pay their bills right on the phone and receive all needed invoices and messages quickly and easy on their phones. Shopmonkey integrates everything you need to run your shop and you can have branded invoices as well! The best thing about Shopmonkey is their customer service, i have always had good experience when any help was needed. Special thanks to Yesenia and Tyler to really friendly and helpful members from the Shopmonkey support team!

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

The only thing i would change is the mobile app, the current version is made only for the Technician view. I would like to get a service writer POV app, especially because we are a mobile repair shop and it would be easier to do small
Changes to the ticket on a mobile device. Other than that everything else is amazing!

10/10 definitely recommend to others. Very affordable and easy to use.

Shopmonkey solves the problem of inconvenience. It makes it a lot easier for us to send invoices and estimates to our customers and they can already approve and pay any jobs on their phone. Makes it easy for us especially because we are a mobile repair unit. So we don't have to carry around invoices and card readers...

**What do you like best about Shopmonkey?**

Simple, easy, and works well! Saves us time as a team and seems very clear for every staff member to be on the same page. Customers like the interactive functions like appointment reminders and estimates sent to their phone as well as texting.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

Syncs parts, but not tires to Quickbooks. There are small tweeks to be made but they are constantly updating. There's nothing that was really held us back or been a major problem, just little things and some have already been corrected, or listed as in progress to be corrected.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopmonkey:**

I have compared a few shop software, this had the best user experience and customer-facing experience (when you send a customer an estimate).

We can create and save estimates faster, scheduling workflow is easy. The labels make it easy to communicate the status of an estimate to all staff members. Runs pretty smoothly across devices. Invoices are clean looking, overall a nicely designed software.

Our shop likes that Shopmonkey is a do it all software for our shop. We use it for inspections, invoicing, payments and procedures. It can do it all. On top of that, we can do everything digitally for our customers. It makes us stand out from the competition.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

There is little we don't like, the biggest thing we find we look outside of the software for is diagnostic help. The Motor information often works well, but there are times you need something more in-depth such as Identifix or AllData

**Recommendations to others considering Shopmonkey:**

Having used other programs like RO Writer or Mitchell, this is a much more complete program. It allows us to handle our customers how they wish to be helped.

It helps to keep us organized and keep costs down, by offering so much in one package we are saved from getting additional services such as credit card merchant services.

-Create estimates
-Store customer info and communicate via text/email.
-Set appointments
-Digital Inspection Reports generated by technician and sent to customer
-Assign work to each technician and track progress
-Invoicing, and taking payments in person or online
-Shopmonkey constantly updates features and provides more value

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

-Some bugs come up whenever new updates are released, we do wish there was more testing done to reduce these before releasing update.

Shopmonkey offers a free demo to test drive.  Trialing the product is what convinced us to commit to this platform.

-We use Shopmonkey as a compete operations system to handle clients and work from initial contact to completion.
-Much better workflow and accountability compared to the old way of doing things using paper
-AWS cloud storage is the key to keeping customers updated with photos/video of work done, messages are kept so there's no he said she said, everything is logged.

**What do you like best about Shopmonkey?**

Keeps track of our customers, sales, profitability, and links to QuickBooks! All in one works very well for our small performance shop. We love that we can keep track of our inventory.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

We currently have an issue with our inventory not pulling a specific item, tech is working on this issue. I wish there was a way to create a category (income-related). We use "Fees" for anything that doesn't fall within the parts/labor/subcontract etc. More specific to us - We Dyno tune and would like to have an option to select dyno without using labor. So we can see our return on our investment( how many tunes did it take to make this amount) I'd like to be able to see what inventory we use most to help us order more efficiently.

We can look up any estimate we sent out. we can track all work by the customer, we can see how much they've spent. We are most definitely more productive. We rely on this program to run our entire business. It gives us such confidence and cuts the time down. Overall we love Shopmonkey. We can contact you directly and always get a response. Love the labels and the ability to create our own. The calendar works well and is user-friendly. Love how we can collect deposits and send estimates out. Our customers love this!!
We love that we can see what everyone is doing, as we are all admins. this is the best feature!

**What do you like best about Shopmonkey?**

For me, their scheduling capabilities, reminders and syncing of work orders is great. I'm able to see what needs to be done, when it needs to be done by and what is owed all in a glance. Also the fact I can easily communicate with customers from their platform via email AND text is wonderful.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

I wish their reporting was a bit more intuitive and in-depth. While there is some excellent reporting features, there are some areas I really wish were more easily covered. I will say their customer support team has been on point though when it comes to working with me and communicating with me on these issues. As mentioned in the title, there are growing pains - but they seem to have a very dedicated staff that is constantly working on not only the issues that arise but also improvements and added features.

There have also been the periodic bugs - I've had some customers show they've messaged us but nothing has shown up on our end  (this has probably been the most frustrating). Again, having chat support at my fingertips during most work hours is great - but when my line of communication with customers is disrupted, that can cause a lot of confusion.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopmonkey:**

It can a huge organizational asset to your business, but it does require time to set up and learn.

**What problems is Shopmonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having better organization has been huge. No longer having to remember to send those reminders for appointments or having to draft a work order from scratch thanks to their canned services feature is very helpful. Again, also being able to communicate with customers from the messages hub is a time saver rather than having to get into another software to do so. Also for my admin side to be able to go in and see how far along a job has progressed based on what services have been checked off and completed, them being able to upload and save service agreements as well as document before and after photos of any issues and having all those things neatly filed away for easy future access is a big sense of security.

The systems ability to find most cars and to look up labor times is our favorite part

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

The inability to find special vehicles or link them to the system can be annoying when you work with as many rebuilds as we do.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopmonkey:**

Shopmonkey is a great resource for a shop. We are honestly using it to half ot potential as a small shop without a dedicated service writer all the Techs have had to learn not only to operate the system but how to invoice and update tickets. Which is a testament to the fact that most Techs couldn't care less about how an invoice looks yet have been able to make invoices at ease.

**What problems is Shopmonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A little out of leftfield but I had to use Shopmokeys system to help me do my taxes this last year as it tracks all of our sales and gives me a breakdown of part costs and labor costs.

I love having the ability to store and manage my company in one place for the most part! There are still some kinks that are being worked out, but I think it will be worth the wait.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

The inability to customize/create multiple lead capture forms. The limitations with the inventory name vs description. Most of all!! The money takes twice as long as a regular stripe account to land in the bank account!

**Recommendations to others considering Shopmonkey:**

I would recommend that they have a clear-cut vision of how they need their processes to be set up. It will make it a little easier to manipulate the features that may not work exactly the way you might want. The great thing about them is that they are constantly evolving their systems. Which provides me with the comfort of feeling like they may be able to grow with my business as well. I would also tell them not to be shy! The customer service that shopmonkey employees provide allows for those that may be slightly uncomfortable with technology to give it a shot!

Once in a while, an app comes along and claims to combine many apps in one. I can truly say that Shopmonkey does that, and can of the features individually are great. Having crm, project management, parts inventory, parts ordering , quoting, invoicing, payments, customer messaging and appointment management all under one roof, means less time split across multiple apps resulting in time saved and more $$ made!

If you run any sort of shop that has customers with vehicles of any sort passing through, then Shopmonkey can be made to fit your workflow seamlessly. Shopmonkey is the backbone of our entire operation and I can't imagine us working without it!

We are a small startup that specializes in mobile repair and preventative maintenance for B2B and B2C clients. Being cost-conscious, we looked at several options that could provide us with a solution that had great value, plenty of features, a clear growth plan, and most importantly great customer service. Cue in, Shopmonkey. Our team has been using Shopmonkey for over a year and our experience has been positive. For the number of features you get within Shopmonkey, the value is tremendous. They are constantly providing updates and including new features. Their team is extremely engaged with their customers and listens to feedback. If you are looking for a solution that provides your customers with a great experience, this is a great option for your operations. On the back end your team can easily create estimates, schedule appointments, procure parts, communicate with the customers via email/text and receive payments once the job is completed. BUT most importantly, your customers will appreciate the clear communication during that whole process. We receive tons of compliments on how organized and easy it is for them to approve estimates and pay for services.

As a mobile repair company, our issues with Shopmonkey are specific to us. We realize that Shopmonkey caters primarily to brick and mortar shops and the limitations we experience our specific to our niche. Things such as routing, scheduling and customer management are somewhat difficult for us, but we make it work. It would be nice to have some automation within Shopmonkey or allow customers to have more visibility on services they have received (i.e. customer portal) but these are just my opinions on how things can become even more streamlined. Reports could be a little more intuitive and granular, but not bad for someone not completely comfortable with a fiance.

For us, the biggest benefit of using Shopmonkey has been how easy it is to store and organize customer information. Not having tons of paperwork and having a digital solution that solves all that is huge for us. We like the ability to remote access all of our locations.  Quickbooks connection and inventory control.  Customer communication features (SMS & Email) - remote payments from customers through the  Merchant Services feature (which is cheaper than what we had been using).  We have gone paperless with our Vehicle Maintenance inspections due to the ease of use on the electronic features and the fact we can post photos of damages and send to the customer.

Recently, several small glitches can be a surprise, however, the Support usually finds fixes to the issues within 24 hours.  My biggest issue is when a new release or update has come along and we were not giving previous information.

Protection from customer accusations of damage that was preexisting, using the photo features and internal notes. Less turnaround time on getting payments since the customers can pay remotely.  Again, the ease of use and ability to equip technicians with tablets and their own login credentials for ongoing updates.  We love the part procurement feature as well.

We love the customer communications within Shopmonkey. Sometimes the entire process is done on the platform without having to call the customer! Customers will often pay online as well before picking up their vehicle so when they arrive the pickup process is frictionless! Every conversation, every invoice change, every picture is documented and saved forever.... this makes it easy for us when referring back to old invoices and dealing with difficult customers. The entire user interface reminds me of the Apple operating system and I think that is why our crew has easily adopted it.

I am still waiting on electronic signatures but Shopmonkey says they will be rolling it out soon. Other than that the software is perfection.

My father who founded our company, is a little older now so sometimes he will work from home and since Shopmonkey is cloud based, you can work from anywhere! He'll be writing invoices and quotes in the middle of the night. And if he is traveling it easily pops up on your phone! At all times from anywhere we know what is going on at our shop. Customers love communicating through the platform as well, in the past we had a separate phone line to text customers. Shopmonkey also collects every piece of data (income, expenses, vehicle type, repair type etc...) and presents it to you nicely so that you can analyze your entire operation in detail.

I have used less expensive programs that were very basic, & could only do the most basic of invoicing. I like how the system operates compared to others I have tested. The menus are effective and allow me to generate estimates and invoices quickly. I don't sit at the computer all day since I am a mechanic and service writer all in one so being able to sit down and pick up on all the menus is important to me. The mobile app also has a lot of potential but so far I have found it effective in scanning the vehicle license plate or VIN to quickly get all the vehicle information to load. Also entering quick internal notes or inspections with pictures on the app keeps me in the shop instead of going back to the computer.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

I haven't found much to dislike at this point of using the system for about 4-5 months. I would like to see more service writer operations on the mobile app but I understand why it's currently set up for a technician viewing perspective.

I had contacted and trialed a few shop management software systems and they all had some shortcomings. When contacting shop monkey, I went through a video conference with a shop monkey representative and they helped answer all my questions we ran through some mock estimates/invoices to make sure everything worked as I wanted. I would recommend reaching out for a trial and taking the time for a meeting, the customer support team was very helpful.

It's very user-friendly and easy to learn. Love that they offer a credit card POS system that links to it as well. I enjoy the automated appointment reminders and being able to add message templates for easy and quick texts!

The app is completely useless. You can't see the full appointment info. You can't view customer contact info. You can't check a customer out on it. There are so many basic functions that I feel could be added to it! Hopefully they keep working on it! I also don't like that you can't sort any of the columns in Workflow. And I do hope they'll find a way to have more accounting features as well, the way Quickbooks does. Right now, I have to pay for both ShopMonkey and Quickbooks because there are still functions in QB that SM does not offer. Lastly, I found out about SM at a Window Tint Conference, yet the program is not really designed for Window Tint Shops, it's more designed for Mechanics so I hope they do make it work better for Window Tint Shops.

The use of text and email to connect with customers has created a level of comunication that was not possible before we used this program. It has brought us into the 21st century! We love the use of the calendar and how we can assign particular techs to certain jobs. We appreciate how the workflow it setup and can be customized for our business, which is not in the auto repair field.

I don't like how not everything is customizable, especially descriptions of "vehicles" when in our case, we repair outdoor power equipment, and would prefer to have prompts specific to our field. As a non-automotive business, I'd really appreciate a discount given that I'm not utilizing any of the car-specific features-- we're not paying for them.

Cloud based and easy to ramp up, even for team members that are not super computer savvy.  Does all the things you need from a shop management tool, plus some other things you may or may not need like payment processing and invoicing.  Integrates fairly well with Quickbooks and other common business tools.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

Some small things are quite perfect, and a bit clunky.  For example we don't use the invoicing feature but rather continue to rely on Quickbooks for that as well as payment processing, since we have other revenue streams than what runs through SM.  Our long-standing invoice numbering format cannot be used in SM because it uses letters, which is not ideal.  Results in the need to manually assign invoice numbers which don't coincide with work order numbers generated by SM.  Pretty minor.  Sometimes when an invoice is sent to QB, customer data isn't transferred which requires manual input.  Overall these are minor livable quirks, and the tool does save a great deal of time as a whole.

Primarily keeping track of overall shop operations has been a huge unlock for us.  Has allowed us to be more efficient and understand where we've had inefficiencies and how to address those. The ability to send estimates to customers and receive authorization for repairs electronically is very convenient. The features of the program make running the shop easier than ever before - from the front office to tracking inventory, to the work out in the shop, and everything in between.

Anything we might have found lacking in the program has been addressed by the Shop Monkey team promptly and effectively. They are always willing to listen to customer input and seeking for ways to make the program even more effective for the shops they serve. That might be a drawback if you like a program that rarely changes. But if you want one that stays current and is tailored to customers' needs, then their agility is an asset.

**What do you like best about Shopmonkey?**

Ease of use and user experience are beyond top notch. Everything is in logical places which makes the software very intuitive.  We're constantly recommending Shopmonkey to other shops like ours.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

I would only be nitpicking if I were to mention anything.  The flow of the software is really what matters the most but overall there is nothing to dislike about this software.

**What problems is Shopmonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anytime we have an issue or a question, we reach out to the chat and it's solved very quickly.  The chat staff is top-notch and very knowledgeable - very friendly.

**What do you like best about Shopmonkey?**

Messaging feature is the best, as well as assigning orders to tech and reporting by tech.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

Low webhooks functional, slow speed at times and that crusial problem that you report get fixed in a year or 2. For example fraud management or user access rights.

**What problems is Shopmonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Order management and parts markup are great, report is decent,  calendar is ok, not the most user friendly, but it handy to have it in the same software.  And of course messaging, saves a lit of time to keep it in 1 system

**What do you like best about Shopmonkey?**

The system is so easy to use! Customers rave over the text and DVI features! Lots of people cannot answer their calls immediately, I know I sure can't. Being able to receive a text message with notes pictures and full descriptions even being able to text back and ask whatever questions are needed. This software has been a GAMECHANGER for our automotive shop!

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

If I have to choose, Occasionally there might be a vehicle that doesn't have repair or maintenance. Other than that, we love it all!

**Recommendations to others considering Shopmonkey:**

You will not be disappointed and your customers will be even happier!

**What problems is Shopmonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication and understanding, the system allows our customers to see exactly what our techs do. Avoids a lot of confusion.

**What do you like best about Shopmonkey?**

It is very intuitive. The End of Day reports and ease of creating invoices and orders. time keeping, invoicing, work orders, inspections.  It's easier to use.

**What do you dislike about Shopmonkey?**

Calendaring and assigning jobs.  We would like to not assign jobs and still have each individual keep his time because they jump around a lot.  The calendar is difficult for us.

**What problems is Shopmonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is easy to train new people on the system. Yes, things are running more smoothly and we are more productive.
