It is user friendly and most importantly the support that we get is hands down. Viewpoint also plays a huge role with the software. As user friendly it is there are times I can run into a situation where I need assistance. Viewpoint is always there to assist with the issue. We can either call in or do online. Easy Peezy. There are so many features for all departments within the company. It is easy to use and all the upgrades are done without any down time. **What do you dislike about ProContractor?** I don't think I dislike anything about Pro Contractor. I have used several software's and Pro Contractor is very user friendly. And as mentioned if you run into an issue you can reach out to support which they are very fast to assist. **What problems is ProContractor solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to punch in all of our data and have all the info at a view ### 2. The customized reports are invaluable! **What do you dislike about ProContractor?** The downside of ProContractor is sort of the same as the Pros. There are so many options...it can be very overwhelming to new users. **What problems is ProContractor solving and how is that benefiting you?** Keeping track of our budgets and actual costs. ### 3. We estimate our jobs, then create the projects from the estimate and billed directly from the project. The third party tax software works very well for Quarter and end of your tax reports. Very good support through chatting. Has a lot of features if you spend time setting everything up. The reports are very good and user friendly to edit them. **What do you dislike about ProContractor?** It doesn't have a way to create a employee garnishments from payroll like all other programs we have used. You don't have an option to do electronic vendor payments yourself you have to use a 3rd party. **Recommendations to others considering ProContractor:** Use all parts not just pieces. **What problems is ProContractor solving and how is that benefiting you?** Certified payroll. I have setup the fringe and the payroll and each week all we have to do is run the certified report and it is done. ### 4. There are quirks in the system that are not apparent but become a data entry stumbling block when menu items are in a different order from module to module. **What problems is ProContractor solving and how is that benefiting you?** ProContractor is helping us track information on projects. We can extrapolate information and follow through with documents by using the logs. ProContractor is helping our company to maintain a paperless business. ### 6. I like the fact that it is easy to put together a bid and not confusing when you are putting together a bid for the customer. **What do you dislike about ProContractor?** It is pretty clicky and not very simplified. I think there should be a way to bill out maintenance style work, jobs that are single sub one and done style jobs. **What problems is ProContractor solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is keeping everything within our organization organized and clean. We are benefiting by not having to leave a stack of paper on the desk at all times. and that is nice. ### 7. I haven't used the digitizer feature (despite having one in my desk drawer), so I can't comment on it's effectiveness, but that functionality also exists. **What do you dislike about ProContractor?** There are some aggravating quirks that make the software more difficult than necessary. One is the double/triple/et cetera clicking when tracing lines on a plan. This creates unnecessary and sometimes deleterious points. Another problem is the program defaults to autosave every minute or so and there is just enough delay to be distracting and annoying. Edited 04/23/20: There have been more issues as of late, including, but not limited to, the software crashing (large monitor was blamed, but no hardware has changed in the 2 years that I have used the software) and issues with inserting current CAD files (we have had to save as older versions to work sometimes loosing functionality in the process). More importantly we have asked for a quote on the Earthwork package and haven't received a reply after nearly 10 weeks. This level of customer service is unacceptable. As a result of this we will be cancelling licensure after this year. I would recommend anyone that is looking for estimation software to look at AgTek instead, that is likely where we will be spending our money. **Recommendations to others considering ProContractor:** Don't spend the money on the training to go along with the software package, it's incredibly costly and was not as helpful as what I have since learned from colleagues with previous experience with the software. Edit: Look elsewhere for your estimation software needs. AgTek is where we are looking to migrate to. **What problems is ProContractor solving and how is that benefiting you?** We the program for estimation for the purposes of bidding new projects. ### 10. I found that this is a reasonable program that does many of the things that we look for like PR Management,, Reporting, Charting, Estimating. The thing I like best is it does all these things in a single product package. **What do you dislike about ProContractor?** One thing I can say the mobile app that we tried, is very shaky. For some reason the data does not sync up/ The reports are not showing the complete layout as opposed to the PC version. After my review of this product, I did find out that they since had updates to the app and I hear it runs better. **Recommendations to others considering ProContractor:** As I mentioned earlier in this review. If you are a small business and you want to get basic management and accounting started, etc. You can achieve it. If you are planning to use it in conjunction with the mobile app, make sure to get the updated version.. **What problems is ProContractor solving and how is that benefiting you?** It did not solve any business problems, however for a small business looking to get a basic job done, this product could help. ### 11. Ability to create assemblies that allowed quicker estimates Easy comparison between estimates. Automatic and error free estimate calculations. **What do you dislike about ProContractor?** One of the reasons that we purchased the software is that we thought that it was compatible with View Point. We wanted to be able to download our starting estimate into View Point directly as the starting budget for the project. There is no compatibility. The solution to do this was a custom Excel sheet that View Point wanted to charge us for. **What problems is ProContractor solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me make estimates for my contractors when they have irrigation jobs. Everything we need is in one location from takeoff, estimating, project management and accounting. ### 12. Great Product! Nice reporting and nice electronic approval system. We also use the mobile component which has allowed our field personal to better communicate job site performance to the office staff. **What do you dislike about ProContractor?** Report/Software modifications are somewhat challenging. It's expense. Cost is per license. Unused licenses are not refunded. **Recommendations to others considering ProContractor:** It's expensive, but well worth the money. Each component that you add on costs additional money. Whether it be estimating, mobile, inventory, etc. **What problems is ProContractor solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have automated several processes: payroll, a/p approval, a/r invoicing. ### 13. Finding simple reports takes a lot of time to find. Too much detail is asked and the set up of the program is horrible. **Recommendations to others considering ProContractor:** Check out other programs.
