“Tableau Turns Operational Data into Clear, Interactive Dashboards”
What do you like best about Tableau?

Tableau comes out as a useful application for turning operational data into interactive reports, which are easier to understand than plain spreadsheets. It allows me to compile various business metrics, create dashboards for routine analysis, and perform trend checking or anomaly exploration tasks. This feature enables me to convey the results of my operational research without having to rely on hand-made reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

Making an efficient dashboard demands selecting the right metrics and the appropriate ways to visualize data. Poorly organized source data may cause the necessity to spend extra time preparing the data for further presentation. Updating dashboards is not easy if the business requirements are often changing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main advantage lies in the rapid access to the necessary information about the business operations. Instead of spending a lot of time compiling figures by hand, teams can use interactive dashboards for analysis and finding weak spots. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Power BI Makes Data Insights Clear and Interactive”
What do you like best about Microsoft Power BI?

I like Power BI because it makes data analysis and reporting more visual and easier to understand. I find it useful for turning data into interactive reports and dashboards, while the integration with Excel makes it convenient to work with existing datasets. It helps me organize information, identify trends, and present insights in a clear way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Power BI?

One challenge I have found with Power BI is that larger or more complex reports can sometimes become harder to navigate and manage. I also find the licensing and pricing structure can be a little difficult to understand, especially when considering different requirements for users and organizations. Clearer navigation for complex reports and simpler pricing options would improve the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Power BI solving and how is that benefiting you?

Power BI helps me turn raw and structured data into clear reports and interactive dashboards for analysis. I use it to identify trends, compare data, track important information, and present insights in a more understandable way. It also works well with my Excel workflow, making it easier to bring prepared data into Power BI for deeper analysis and visualization. This reduces manual reporting work and helps me make data easier to interpret. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Reliable Platform for Building Scalable Data Pipelines”
What do you like best about Databricks?

What I like most about Databricks is how its user friendly UI brings the entire data engineering workflow into one platform. In my project, data lands in the Bronze layer through snaplogic, and we use databricks to transform it into Silver and Gold data products. The serverless compute option has significantly reduced the effort of managing infrastructure, while Unity Catalog makes governance and access control straightforward. I also find AI Genie and the built-in monitoring features useful for investigating pipeline failures, checking job runtimes, and debugging issues much faster. From a pricing perspective, the pay-for-what-you-use model works well for us, especially with serverless compute and auto-scaling, as we avoid paying for idle infrastructure. The documentation is comprehensive, onboarding new team members is relatively straightforward, and there is a strong knowledge base and community that helps resolve issues quickly. Overall, it has made our ETL development and day 2 day operations more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Databricks?

One downside is that troubleshooting can sometimes be difficult when a pipeline fails, as the error messages aren't always detailed enough and you may need to dig through multiple logs to find the root cause. The platform also has a lot of features, so it can take some time for new users to become comfortable with everything. While serverless is convenient, costs can increase if compute usage isn't monitored properly. I'd also like to see faster UI responsiveness in some areas, especially when navigating large job histories or catalogs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Databricks solving and how is that benefiting you?

Databricks has helped me and my team simplify our data engineering workflow by providing a single platform for data ingestion, transformation, governance, and analytics. We use it to process data from Bronze to Silver and Gold layers, which has made our ETL pipelines more reliable and easier to manage. Features like serverless compute, Unity Catalog, and built-in monitoring have reduced operational effort, improved collaboration across teams, and helped us deliver data products faster. “Fast, Consistent Data Exploration Across Dimensions with Kyvos Semantic Layer”
What do you like best about Kyvos Semantic Layer?

What I appreciate most about Kyvos semantic layer is how fast we can explore data across regions, products and time periods. You can move across different dimensions and drill into metrics without worrying about how the query is being handled in the background. Numbers stay consistent across reports. There’s less back-and-forth on definitions, which makes discussions more focused on insights rather than validating the data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kyvos Semantic Layer?

There’s a bit of a mindset shift in how you approach analysis. Instead of building queries from scratch each time, you rely more on the pre-defined models and structures.

Once you get used to that way of working, it actually makes analysis much more straightforward across the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kyvos Semantic Layer solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our biggest challenge was working with large volumes of data without slowing down analysis. Queries used to get expensive and time-consuming, especially when multiple people were exploring data at the same time.

With Kyvos, we’re able to interact with data much more freely. It’s easier to explore trends, compare performance, and answer follow-up questions without worrying about query delays. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Makes Data Prep Faster with an Intuitive Drag-and-Drop Workflow”
What do you like best about Alteryx?

What I like about Alteryx is that it makes working with data much easier and faster. The drag-and-drop interface is straightforward to use, so I can clean, combine, and analyze data without having to write a lot of code. It also helps me automate repetitive tasks, which saves time and lets me focus more on understanding the data and uncovering useful insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Alteryx?

One thing I don’t like about Alteryx is that it can be expensive, especially for smaller teams. It also takes time to learn all of its more advanced features, and when workflows get large, they can sometimes become difficult to manage. Aside from those drawbacks, it has been a reliable tool for data preparation and analytics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Alteryx solving and how is that benefiting you?

Alteryx helps me solve the problem of manual, time-consuming data preparation. It makes it straightforward to clean, combine, and transform data from different sources all in one place. This saves me a lot of time, reduces errors, and lets me get to the analysis much faster. As a result, I can spend more time finding insights instead of spending hours just preparing the data. “Powerful Analytics Platform with Robust Features, But Setup Can Be Complex”
What do you like best about SAS Viya?

What I like best about SAS Viya is its modern, cloud-native architecture built on Kubernetes, which makes it scalable, flexible, and easy to deploy across different environments. It provides a unified platform that integrates data management, analytics, AI, and visualization in one place, allowing users to move seamlessly from data preparation to model deployment. I also appreciate its multi-language support for SAS, Python, and R, enabling collaboration between different teams, along with its intuitive web-based tools like SAS Studio and Visual Analytics. Additionally, Viya offers strong governance, enterprise-grade security, and high-performance in-memory processing through CAS, making it both powerful and user-friendly for a wide range of analytics workloads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAS Viya?

One aspect I find challenging about SAS Viya is its tendency to be resource-intensive, often demanding substantial CPU, memory, and storage to operate efficiently, particularly in larger environments. The process of installation and upgrading can also be quite complicated, as it typically involves coordinating multiple services and dependencies. Furthermore, troubleshooting can be a lengthy process, since it sometimes requires in-depth knowledge of both SAS components and the underlying infrastructure. I also think that some users might perceive the interface and integration with third-party tools as less intuitive when compared to more modern, lightweight analytics platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SAS Viya solving and how is that benefiting you?

SAS Viya is solving the problem of managing, analyzing, and visualizing large volumes of data efficiently across different environments. It provides a unified platform for data integration, advanced analytics, and machine learning, which helps streamline workflows and reduce the complexity of moving between tools. By enabling collaboration between data scientists, analysts, and business users, SAS Viya improves productivity and decision-making. Its scalability and ability to run on cloud or on-premises infrastructure also allow organizations to handle growing data demands with flexibility and performance. “All-in-One Collaborative Workspace for SQL, Python, and Interactive Dashboards”
What do you like best about Hex?

What I like most about Hex is how it combines SQL, Python, visualizations, and interactive dashboards into a single collaborative workspace. It makes it easy to move from data exploration to sharing insights without switching between multiple tools. Seamless support for SQL and Python in the same notebook. Interactive dashboards and visualizations that are easy to build and share. Real-time collaboration, allowing teams to work together on analyses. Strong integration with cloud data warehouses and databases. Clean, modern interface that makes data exploration intuitive. For me, the most valuable feature is the ability to blend code with interactive reports. I can perform complex analyses using SQL or Python and then present the results in dashboards that stakeholders can explore without needing technical expertise. The biggest benefit is improved productivity. Hex reduces the friction between data analysis, visualization, and reporting, enabling faster collaboration and making it easier to turn raw data into actionable insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hex?

The biggest drawback is performance with large-scale analyses. While Hex handles most workflows well, resource-intensive notebooks and large queries can occasionally lead to slower execution and require optimization. Some advanced collaboration, governance, and enterprise features are only available on higher-tier plans. Customizing highly interactive dashboards is not as flexible as in dedicated BI tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Hex solving and how is that benefiting you?

Hex solves the challenge of bringing data exploration, analysis, visualization, and collaboration into a single platform. Instead of switching between SQL editors, Jupyter notebooks, BI tools, and presentation software, Hex provides one workspace where technical and business users can work together. Combines SQL, Python, visualizations, and dashboards in one environment. Simplifies collaboration by allowing multiple team members to work on the same project. Makes it easy to create interactive reports that stakeholders can explore without technical knowledge. Connects directly to cloud data warehouses and databases for real-time analysis. Reduces the effort required to move from raw data to shareable business insights. In my workflow, Hex helps streamline data analysis and reporting by keeping everything in one place. I can query data, perform Python-based analysis, build visualizations, and share interactive dashboards without exporting results across multiple tools. The biggest benefit is improved collaboration and faster decision-making. Hex shortens the analytics workflow, making it easier to deliver insights, collaborate across teams, and turn data into actionable outcomes more efficiently. “Mosaic & Semantic Layer Unite Our Data, Plus Helpful AI Dashboard Suggestions”
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

The Mosaic and Semantic Layer do a great job of bringing a large volume of Data together as one place to go versus jumping to multiple systems. Junior Analysts will really benefit from the AI Tool Suggestions in building visually appealing and user-friendly dashboards that meet their customers expectations. It's very loud in this room (with the espresso machine) however, the Automated Report Scheduling does seem to be working and has not failed me...yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

The speed issues in this application can be frustrating when trying to open Cube Data or Add Columns to Reports because it takes a long time to Refresh. We moved from On-Prem to Cloud last year, and trying to resolve some of these "small" items such as Masking Dashboard URLs or Importing Images Next To Links is taking a lot longer than expected. They are also getting rid of Command Manager, which means I need to Learn Python in order to perform things that were much easier on the backend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using it to bring many disparate data sources together into one Governed Platform instead of having to deal with Large Excel Downloads. “Lightdash: Lightning-Fast dbt-Powered BI with Rapid Feature Releases”
What do you like best about Lightdash?

It is built on top of dbt and combines the best of all worlds:

- it is 10x faster to compute visualizations than Tableau

- it is much easier to built data models than in Tableau or Looker

- data models are directly "verified"/they break if they are not compatible within dbt (in Tableau/Looker, similar tools -- these are two separate worlds)

- the Lightdash team releases new features (also upon request) at lightning speed

- I can build new dashboards/charts via prompting in Cursor Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lightdash?

Honestly I don't see any so far: If at all, it requires relatively high technical skill. It cannot be used effectively by a "plug-n-play" BI Analyst.

If the price is an issue, one can consider self-hosting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lightdash solving and how is that benefiting you?

I started off liking Tableau as a BI tool better than PowerBI.

Then, I could see the compute downsides and missing git repo in Tableau compared to Looker.

Then, I can see the issue that Looker is very expensive and that Looker is not dbt integrated, i.e. you constantly need to maintain two disconnected repos and make changes in two places.

Lightdash is by far the best BI tool out there today. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Domo Turns Disconnected Reports Into a Game-Changing Sales Scorecard”
What do you like best about Domo?

What I like best is how Domo consolidates data that used to live in half a dozen places into one actionable platform. Before Domo, our sales managers spent 10-15 hours preparing for a single Quarterly Business Review, pulling numbers from separate activity, forecast, and lease maturity reports plus their own spreadsheets. Today they review one Scorecard at the start of each month and use the Pipeline and Lease Maturity views live in weekly one-on-ones. It has turned reporting into an active coaching tool: managers spot opportunities that need attention faster, make forecast adjustments in real time, and have more productive conversations around retention, performance, and business health. Our sales managers have called it a game-changer, and leadership sees the impact as massive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Domo?

The cost is high, and I also have to keep track of my credit usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Domo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Domo solved our fragmented sales reporting problem. Key business metrics like quota attainment, run rates, new business performance, pipeline, and lease maturity used to live across multiple reports, systems, and personal spreadsheets, and gathering and validating it all took significant time. Quarterly Business Review prep alone took each sales manager 10-15 hours; that work is now largely eliminated because everything lives in one centralized, validated platform. Beyond time savings, the biggest benefit is better decision-making: managers identify at-risk opportunities sooner, adjust forecasts throughout the month instead of waiting for quarterly reviews, and use the data to coach their teams week to week. Forecasting accuracy, customer retention conversations, and overall business visibility have all improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“One analytics layer across our SQL and NoSQL data and now Al our customers can use”
What do you like best about Knowi?

We embed Knowi dashboards directly into our SaaS product, and the biggest win for us is that Knowi queries our datastores natively—MongoDB alongside our SQL databases—without forcing us to move anything into a proprietary warehouse first. There’s no ETL pipeline to build or babysit. Knowi connects straight to the raw datastores, and we can join and blend NoSQL and SQL data on the fly into a single dataset. That alone eliminated an entire category of engineering work we used to do just to get data “BI-ready.”

The semantic layer is what ties everything together: we define our datasets once, and every dashboard, report, and natural-language question resolves against the same definitions. As a result, our customers see consistent numbers no matter how they ask.

Over the last year, the AI capabilities have become a real differentiator. The agentic chat lets us (and our customers) ask questions in plain English, and the agents can go beyond answering—they can build charts, dashboards, and alerts from a prompt. Knowi also ships as an MCP server, so our team can work with our analytics from AI tools we already use. Most importantly for us, these AI capabilities are embeddable: we’re currently deploying ask-your-data functionality to our own customers inside our product, with our agents talking to Knowi agents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Knowi?

Some corners of the UI/UX still have room to improve. A few of the admin and settings screens feel denser than they need to be, and there’s a learning curve in places. That said, they’ve taken big, visible steps over the last year—a refreshed dashboard UI, themes, and a much cleaner AI chat experience—and the trajectory is clearly moving in the right direction.

With AI, you still need to double-check the results, since it can sometimes get things wrong. However, they make it easy to validate during conversations that the AI has computed the right results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?

We moved to Knowi from a well-known cloud BI platform. The previous tool required pushing all of our data into its own store before we could visualize anything, which meant ETL pipelines to maintain, sync lag, duplicate storage costs, and our NoSQL data getting flattened along the way.

With Knowi, we unified analytics across all of our datastores without moving the data and launched customer-facing embedded dashboards much faster. Row-level security and secure embeds ensure each customer sees only their own data. The semantic layer keeps metrics consistent across every surface. And with the new AI and agentic capabilities embedded in our product, customers can self-serve answers that used to come in as support tickets and custom report requests, so our team can spend its time on the product rather than on one-off reporting. “Count Streamlines SQL, Python, and Collaborative Data Storytelling”
What do you like best about Count?

What I like most about Count is its ability to combine SQL, Python, and interactive data storytelling in a single collaborative workspace. It makes it easy to explore data, build visualizations, and present insights without constantly switching between different tools. Collaborative notebooks that allow teams to work on analyses together in real time. Support for both SQL and Python, providing flexibility for different types of data workflows. Interactive visualizations that update automatically as the underlying data changes. Clean, intuitive interface that encourages exploratory data analysis. Easy sharing of reports and dashboards with stakeholders. For me, the most valuable feature is the live, collaborative notebooks. They make it simple to iterate on analyses, receive feedback, and keep everyone working from the same source of truth. The biggest benefit is increased productivity. Count streamlines the journey from querying data to creating interactive reports, helping teams collaborate more effectively and deliver insights faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Count?

The biggest drawback is performance on resource-intensive analyses. While Count works well for most day-to-day analytics tasks, large queries and complex notebooks may require optimization to maintain a smooth experience. Dashboard customization options are not as extensive as those offered by dedicated business intelligence tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Count solving and how is that benefiting you?

Count solves the problem of fragmented data analysis workflows by bringing SQL, data exploration, visualization, and collaboration into a single workspace. Instead of using separate tools for querying data, creating dashboards, and sharing insights, Count enables teams to do everything in one collaborative environment. Enables collaborative data analysis through shared, live notebooks. Combines SQL, visualizations, and documentation in a single workspace. Creates interactive reports that update automatically as data changes. Makes it easier to share insights with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Reduces context switching between data querying, reporting, and collaboration tools. In my workflow, Count helps streamline exploratory data analysis and reporting. I can query data, build visualizations, document findings, and share interactive reports with teammates without exporting data or moving between multiple platforms. “Easiest BI Tool: Live Snowflake Data in a Spreadsheet-Like Experience”
What do you like best about Sigma?

It's honestly the easiest BI tool I've used. Feels like a spreadsheet but it's pulling live data straight from Snowflake no extracts, no stale data. Setting up the connection with Snowflake is dead simple too, works with key pair or OAuth so it's quick and secure. We use it for a bunch of things client project dashboards, migration trackers, internal trackers and it handles all of it without any hassle. Anyone can pick it up quickly, no SQL needed. Makes my life a lot easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sigma?

Gets a bit laggy when workbooks have a lot going on lots of elements, big datasets, that kind of thing. Some of the advanced features aren't super intuitive at first, you kind of have to figure them out on your own. Not a dealbreaker but could be smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were spending way too much time building one-off reports for people. Now with Sigma, teams can build their own dashboards and trackers we use it for migration tracking, client project reporting, and internal operations tracking. What do you dislike about Easy Insight?

Only constructive feedback I have is I wish there was a way to have data update immediately, but I don't foresee a workaround since this platform pulls data from outside software, and response times between the two will never be fully succinc - just the nature of the beast. What problems is Easy Insight solving and how is that benefiting you?

“Powerful Embedded BI with Proactive Support Addressing Performance at Scale”
What do you like best about Luzmo?

Luzmo's embedding capabilities and modern BI features make it powerful for multi-tenant SaaS applications. The Luzmo IQ natural language querying feature is particularly impressive, allowing end users to ask questions about their data conversationally. The multi-tenancy architecture with account overrides enables secure data isolation across client environments. The Databricks connectivity works smoothly, and the cross-filtering functionality provides good interactivity.

What stands out most is their customer-first approach. When we raised performance concerns, their Product team committed to a complete Databricks connector overhaul—not just a patch—addressing both JOIN and formula pushdowns. We've been kept informed throughout and will be among the first customers migrated to the new connector. This responsiveness to enterprise customer needs is exceptional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Luzmo?

Very little at this point. We experienced some initial performance challenges with dataset linking at large scale, but the Luzmo team responded proactively with a comprehensive solution in development (expected Q1 2026). The communication and support throughout has been excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Luzmo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Luzmo solves the challenge of providing embedded, white-labeled analytics dashboards for our multi-tenant SaaS platform serving enterprise supply chain clients. Rather than building a custom BI solution from scratch, Luzmo provides production-ready embedded dashboards that integrate seamlessly into our application while maintaining strict data isolation between clients through account overrides.

The multi-tenancy architecture allows us to deploy the same dashboard templates across multiple enterprise customers while ensuring each client sees only their data. This significantly accelerates our time-to-market for new client onboarding and reduces development overhead.

Luzmo enables us to deliver sophisticated forecast analytics visualizations—including complex metrics like wMAPE, Bias, and FVA calculations—without requiring our data engineering team to build and maintain a full front-end visualization layer. The Databricks connectivity allows us to leverage our existing data infrastructure while providing interactive dashboards.

The Luzmo IQ natural language querying feature adds significant value by allowing non-technical users to ask questions about their forecast performance data conversationally, reducing the need for custom reports and training.

Overall, Luzmo allows our small team to deliver enterprise-grade embedded analytics to multiple Fortune 500 clients without the engineering resources required to build a proprietary BI platform. Their team has been highly responsive to our scaling needs, with a new Databricks connector in development to further improve performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
