"Strong Data Modeling That Keeps Everyone on the Same Page"
What do you like best about GoodData?

I really like how GoodData performs with its data-modeling. Once all the metrics have been correctly defined, everyone is working off the same information and no one is disputing whose spreadsheet is correct. I am often on the couch (half) watching TV and can easily find what I need, without it becoming an ordeal. We don't have to export manually and/or receive "Can you resend that file?" emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData?

The initial setup for GoodData is not for the faint of heart. Petty complaint: When something goes awry in the defining of a metric, the error message is usually so vague it may as well say, "Something is wrong - figure it out." Minor annoyance. Documentation varies based on what you want to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GoodData has streamlined Data Prep but pricing is still an issue"
What do you like best about GoodData?

The actual reason we stayed using GoodData was because of the Drag and Drop Workflow Builder; you plug in tools (like Legos) onto a canvas and even non-coding personnel can build and run their own workflows without bothering Engineering personnel. I had some non-technical personnel train on it in under a couple of weeks and they were able to do ETL Jobs independently which really surprised me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData?

Performance slows down significantly when dealing with very large datasets, because it loads into memory instead of processing in-place, therefore, if you do not have sufficient hardware, you will notice it. There is no version control built-in, which in today's world, is frankly unbelievable; Collaborating on Workflows feels like it is stuck in 2012. Minor pet peeve, but annoying nonetheless: it does not allow for Notepad or Word Files to be used as input; you need to reformat the file prior to even starting. "Consolidating data makes decision making faster and more accurate"
What do you like best about GoodData?

The feature I like the most about GoodData is that it enables our team to view important business metrics in a single location without having to use several systems. I apply it often in financial transactions to monitor performance of the budget, expenses and KPIs by the departments. The trend can be easily comprehended since the number of features of dashboards, visualization and segmentation is small. We also integrate it with SAP to ensure that financial data is updated automatically and hence a lot of time in manual reconciliation is saved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData?

The first weakness I have identified about GoodData is that some of their advanced dashboards are time-consuming to set up. This occasionally makes insight delivery to our other departments delay in our finance and operations teams. The platform has many features, which makes it possible to learn through trial and error what specific KPI configuration would be best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It delivers data visibility inside our SaaS platforms"
What do you like best about GoodData?

The most significant difference is that it liberates our engineering team of developing internal data pages. It is frequently used in the planning process. Its comprehensive feature list in relation to access controls and presentation profiles enable the process of making decisions in a structured manner. Planning was required to implement the same, but there was customer support when required. This has led to us spending more time in product innovation as opposed to building data infrastructure on our own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData?

In my opinion, the most significant limitation is the reliance on structured setup in the case of expanding the usage. The stages of implementation should be planned, and one can expect unforeseen changes that add to the workload of engineers. The high number of features is potent but introduces administrative headaches. Guiding customer support is not immediate, and sophisticated cases are resolved. Such issues have affected our release date and compelled us to allocate resources in different ways. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mixed Feelings on Dashboard Simplicity and Metric Definition"
What do you like best about GoodData?

I like that all the dashboards in GoodData look alike. It’s easy for the dashboard users to navigate different dashboards as the layout is almost always the same. The integration with Keboola is good and easy to use. I also find GoodData backups useful as they help when changes in table structure in Keboola lead to dropping visualizations in GoodData without warning. Also they have great support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData?

I dislike that you need to define all the metrics in GoodData manually. Other tools let you choose from a dropdown where 'sum' is the default, but in GoodData, you have to write metric definitions for everything. Also, GoodData warnings don’t propagate into Keboola, so changes in table structure in Keboola can lead to dropping visualizations in GoodData without warning. Response from Natalia Nanistova of GoodData

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear GoodData’s design and support have been valuable for your team. Regarding your suggestions, we’d like to clarify that the platform does support flexible dashboard layouts and a range of filter configurations, including per-tab management. Metric creation is highly customizable through MAQL, and predefined templates can also be leveraged depending on your setup. We’re happy to connect and walk through these options if that would be helpful. You can also join our community to stay updated on new features and enhancements.

"Our reliable platform for connecting CRM and database insights"
What do you like best about GoodData?

My favorite thing about GoodData is that it is integrated with tools that we already have and, in particular, Salesforce and our internal database. I use it in my day-to-day practices as an e-commerce marketer to generate sales and performance of the campaigns in a single platform. It has an impressive assortment of dashboard building capabilities. The IT had to be coordinated with in order to implement it but once that was implemented we began using it daily since it had become part of our routine reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData?

The disadvantage I identify with GoodData is that it is complex when setting up especially when connecting a number of systems. The IT team was required to take a considerable amount of time to create data models. When the structures of the databases change, it does not change immediately, and that influences the frequency of relying on it to make fast decisions. The platform has numerous features and this at times complicate new users hence slowing down productivity during the initial weeks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Trustworthy solution for daily operations"
What do you like best about GoodData?

The positive aspect of GoodData that I like most is that it helps build confidence in decision making. Being aware of the fact that the numbers will not change overnight makes me talk to the teams better. I apply it on a regular basis, and it has minimized tension during reviews and executive meetings. I do not need to defend figures since I can be more effective by concentrating on the explanation of implications, which has led to my better performance at work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData?

What I dislike about GoodData is that change can be really sluggish in cases where business questions change. Even minor changes can involve additional procedures, which influences my performance when it is essential to meet a strict deadline. This can at times translate to take longer than anticipated before updates are made to the business particularly when the leadership requires fast clarification in situations where it is needed most. "Extremely Flexible Reporting and Scripting with Intuitive Tools"
What do you like best about GoodData?

I appreciate being able to create standard reports that apply across all clients, and it provides a lot of practical, intuitive tools. It also lets you create scripts for virtually any application, and I really like how flexible the app is when it comes to finding the data you need. On top of that, it offers many additional ready-to-use configuration options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData?

It has far exceeded our expectations on several occasions, the product is extremely flexible and has a wide range of features. Absolutely nothing has been disappointing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless, Secure Analytics with Rapid Data Modeling at Scale"
What do you like best about GoodData?

I really like the rapid data modeling feature, and the product also has strong, reliable data security. It connects smoothly to all of our data sources and has significantly improved our overall data analysis capabilities. Query performance remains excellent even with large volumes of data, and it continues to work well as we scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData?

Overall, the experience has been good, and it has completely transformed the way we handle analytics. As a user, my experience has been seamless, and I’m able to query massive datasets quickly and without friction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowered Our Data Team with Seamless Integration"
What do you like best about GoodData?

I like GoodData's flexibility. We can create metrics that reference other metrics, and it handles all the SQL for us. Creating reports is easy in the UI, but we can also make changes via code when needed, so we're not forced into one way of doing things. The metrics language MAQL, although it has a bit of a learning curve, is quite powerful once you get the hang of it. It allows us to build metrics upon metrics without writing SQL, as it is all handled by the data model. Switching to GoodData has allowed the Data team to create or update reports in hours or minutes instead of weeks or months, which was the case with our in-house platform. Plus, the initial setup was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData?

While the data model is generally good, I think it can be inflexible when you have a complicated data model. You can't add a custom field to a table without changing the entire table to a SQL definition, for example. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
