What do you like best about Equals?

I landed on equals after experimenting with a lot of platforms - Domo, Power Bi and tableau .

finally found something where i could tie - 2 stripe accounts, 2 currencies, 2 products, 6 pricing plans, 2 resellers, 2 usage based platforms - all together! to get a simple logo retention and revenue retention chart.

the best part about it was that you can get an equals expert (who is really a data expert who is very good at equals) to help you put everythign together an integrate with your existing databases.

its so easy to implement. it just took him 10 hours to put al that together. They even start a slack group together to help you!

i use it every week multiple times a week.

What do you dislike about Equals?

I expected a filters feature. They are working on it and have an early version out. To get other people (non engineers) in my team to play with , i would love a filters feature (tableau does this well) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Equals solving and how is that benefiting you?

Helps me stay on top of critical KPIs.

for exampel, i wanted to knwo if a price change affected the logo retention of my product. The answer was more complex. It did affect - 50% percentage of my customers froma. specific cohort and had no effect on the others. I should have raised the price on.1 segment but not the other.

What do you like best about Equals?

Love being able to see and manipulate our own data tables, plus other data from AdWords, Facebook, GA and other sources, combined together inside a spreadsheet interface. What do you dislike about Equals?

What problems is Equals solving and how is that benefiting you?

1) I can see and track the core metrics of my e-commerce business in real time, on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, etc. basis. 2) When I need to drill down into any part of our operation, I can create a new worksheet and get to answers super fast. 3) Continuously updating reports I've set up help us quickly spot emerging issues or opportunities (e.g. - rising CPMs for a particular ad campaign, sales spike in a particular product category, etc.). Few small nits to fix (which they will address over time no doubt!), such as:

- Workbooks crashing every so often when running large data sets

- Depending on how you format dates (if by "MMMM"), ascending / descending chronlogically may be based on first letter of the month rather than order of months in a year.

What problems is Equals solving and how is that benefiting you?

Being an early stage startup, we had no BI stack, especially when it came to our main application. We started to go down the heavy Looker/etc stack, but found it insanely cumbersome - couldn't we just see all of our information like it was in a spreadsheet?

For the first time, we have the ability to easily view our information and quickly construct the insights and reports we need.

What do you like best about Equals?

The ease of using this tool. Learning to use Equals and setting up the reports the way I wanted was easy. It comes with good features that help in a day-to-day update of the reports, for example, scheduled query, the automated email of the dashboard is a good option to share the summary of the report with stakeholders.

Also, impressive support process. Abbey provided support as and when needed.

What do you like best about Equals?

Equals is an exceptional tool. If you are a startup and you aren't using it you need to stop reading this review and go sign up right now. Anyone with basic Excel skills can create sophisticated reports that cross-reference live data sources and automatically distribute them via Slack. Everyone on our team is now able to conduct accurate analysis and report on it with maximum efficiency. Their customer support is also fantastic - they will respond to messages at all hours of the night and solve problems immediately. The founder's vision of simplifying startup reporting is reflected through the performance of the product and woven into the company's DNA. Equals is a huge asset to Vella and I can't say enough good things about it. If they raised the price 5x I'd still pay for it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Equals?

Equals is an amazing tool. I have previously used Google Sheets for every type of data analysis possible, but now no longer. Equals has completely replaced Google Sheets in my life. With Google Sheets, I had to push in the data source i.e. raw data repeatedly before presenting the analysis. Before using Equals, I tried doing Google Sheets + Zapier combination to push in raw data, but it just doesn't work well if the data set is big. However, all of this work is old news now. Equals allows automatic, scheduled updates with raw data. This makes my life 10x easier. Not to mention, Equals is connected to both Gmail and Slack, so I can automatically send over the analysis to our team. Previously, I had to take a screenshot and send it manually... not a great experience. With Equals, I can say I feel like much of my tedious work is automated and I can focus on the actual analysis, which is important. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use Equals for every data analysis I do. The problem with Google Sheets or Excel is the raw data doesn't get updated automatically and Equals does an amazing job with this. And there are very few platforms that allow users to write SQL queries AND have a spreadsheet simultaneously. Equals is one of them and does it seamlessly so I love this tool. What do you like best about Equals?

Equals is fast, effective, and super flexible.

My use cases have changed frequently as I've been using Equals since pretty close to day 0. They are constantly building out the feature set to make it more full-fledged and enterprise-ready.

As a startup, the ability to quickly cut data and hand it off in a relevant, recurring fashion to the right teammates is far better than my previous workflow of either 1) pulling the data and sending it over raw, or 2) overbuilding reporting in our internal dashboard ahead of a validated need.

Support is nearly immediate and top-notch. Integration and implementation is pretty much off and to the races if you are familiar with SQL (or whatever your data source).

What do you dislike about Equals?

The only downside is if need enterprise-grade dashboards for people who are not data-savvy. But classic BI software I used in previous companies was far more Brittle than Equals, so there is a clear tradeoff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Equals?

If you know how to use a spreadsheet, you can use Equals. The dashboard feature and ability to connect across all the key datasources we use is amazing. We have it connected to Stripe, Postgres, and several others. Makes it super easy for the team to track key metrics.

We looked at other sytems (e.g. we used Looker at a previous company) but they were SO much more expensive and required engineers to setup everything.. which was a major overhead for an early stage startup like us.

What do you dislike about Equals?

There aren't many things we don't like. Maybe a Zapier integration would be nice so we coudl push data into a workbook based on other workflows. What do you like best about Equals?

Equals is amazingly fast and combines the best of SQL with the best of spreadsheets. Extremely convenient not to have to export data from one tool, import to another, and manage KPIs in separate places. Equals team was extremely helpful getting our instance set up and is super responsive when you need things.
